Added 2024-07-25 17:02:10 +0000 UTCHey folks, here's part seven of the Heresy and Crisis in the Middle Ages lecture series, this time on the rise of the mendicant orders, that is, the orders of preaching friars who would serve to counter heretical poverty movements by taking up apostolic poverty on behalf of the church. These same friars would later come to fill the ranks of the inquisition on account of their mobility and their unwavering obedience to the papacy.
