Added 2025-10-07 14:02:20 +0000 UTCheyo all! it's about time I start working ahead on my videos for the rest of the year and beyond, and I could use some inspiration in the trope department. if you've got one in mind that sounds interesting, please drop it here! (and if someone else has already posted it, please like their comment rather than doubling up!)

2025-12-10 22:32:23 +0000 UTC1) the chaos goblin -frequently pink, not the main character, obviously complex mental health issues that come to the surface as bouncy carelessness, they tend to break the fourth wall 2) the gladiator arena- teens, prisoners, or whoever are made to battle each other for the entertainment of the wealthy 3) in-universe substitutions for US holidays i'm having so much fun reading everyone's suggestions

2025-11-14 22:48:12 +0000 UTCForgive me if someone already did this. But monster relationships. As a queer ace guy, I just love the monster beast romance (beauty and the beast was my dream)

2025-10-24 08:35:07 +0000 UTCOkay so I've read a few but not all of the comments (HUNDREDS!) and I'd like to throw out the idea of the tropes of The Xanatos Gambit (unsure if it's been done on the channel) and The Spanner In The Works. Basically, the plan with contingencies for ANYTHING (including the planner's death!) and The ONE person/thing/event that's impossible to plan for and thus ruins the plan (for good or ill)

2025-10-17 16:24:48 +0000 UTCDon't know what it's called, but to me it's a Genre Bender, a character so powerful that they are either effectively in a whole different genre than everyone else (thus going by different rules) or their presence in the story changes the vibe/tone/genre.

2025-10-15 02:52:05 +0000 UTCParallel Arcs! Glimmer/Catra is one you’ve done (in detail, haha) but i think discussing parallel arcs as a topic is really interesting! There’s also the “the characters play D&D in this one” trope. group of characters, sitcoms use it a lot (it’s such a simple episode plot line, plus is an opportunity for costuming and makeup to go WILD) and it’s usually an opportunity to learn more about the characters by way of “this is how i represent myself, whaddya mean this indicates something about myself”
