2025-01-25 02:43:14 +0000 UTCSomething I kinda wish you’d brought up is…I don’t know if there’s a trope name, challenging the dreaded, wanting to see if they live up to their reputation. Like in most of those Z era Dragon Ball examples, Goku hears “Terror of a thousand worlds!” And goes “Cool! Let’s go fight him!” Or the numerous people and monsters Alucard fights in Hellsing because they want to take a stab at the vampire king. This is especially prevalent in video games, how many players will intentional challenge themselves to slay those sleeping dragons?
