Thanks!

probably a "he wasted entirely too much time getting to the correct faith, and he never bothered to be Il Papa" if he was like my kin.

...though now I'm wondering if the Donatists is the sort of group who would get along great in Warhammer40K -- what with the emphasis on how priests can't recover from a slip in outward faith (lay members may or may not, depending on which book of heresies I'm reading about Donatists in)

excellent work, Blue!

for both of them, probably neither...think Italian or Spanish or Palestinian.

St. Augustine was engineered in a lab, by God themself. Is a surprisingly hard line for one of the these episodes. I have an odd, distant relationship with Catholicism due to being raised Southern Baptist, but my father's entire half of the family being Catholic. St. Augustine is kind of a good example why. He fits in that niche of messy dudes who were great Christian thinkers that shaped our history, as much if not more than the Bible itself. But his type of story gets buried because his type doesn't fit the dominant culture of American Christians that doesn't want complexity and doesn't want you reading the Bible yourself. Just follow along with your pastor then put it down, or if you do want to read it on your own time, buy one of our numerous Bible guides that will tell you what the passages you read mean, so you don't have to think in any unapproved way.

Also, considering his family came from North Africa, would they actually have been as pale as depicted in paintings, or would they have had a darker complexion like Jesus probably did?

But was his mother proud of him?
