Legends Summarized: The Heroes Of Greece

Remember Blue's roman history megafeature? This is like that, only the quality is SIGNIFICANTLY more inconsistent!

Legends Summarized: The Heroes Of Greece

I want red to be happy, and I do understand her struggle and will continue to support the channel because it is one of the best myth/lit/history channels out there, and that a worthwhile mission in the world we live in with so many citationless content. I have to say I’m really sad that we won’t get red’s mythology content anymore. 😭

Also, I have lots of suggestions for future long-style videos! The Ramayana, the Mahabharata, and/or, if you randomly decide you want to learn Sanskrit, the Veda texts, along with 'the origin of gods' kind of videos for Isis, Set, Inari, Vishnu and his incarnations, and maybe even another crossover with Blue to discuss Aten and Akhenaten. [Can you tell that I really love Hindu and Egyptian myths?]

Congratulations on nine years of myths and legends! 🥳🎉🎆😎 Having executive dysfunction and thinking that the only way through is to just try harder....yeah, I've felt that too many times to count, almost to the point of more or less raging at the gods, 'why, why, why can't I just do the thing I want to do?! why can't I just force myself to do it?!' Coupled with the bizarre cognitive dissonance of looking at my invented universe and going, 'this is a fun thing! .....but I'm not having fun?' with the answer being, 'I've improved so much over 11 years'. I've felt that, too, along with the pain of looking back at your old art and cringing. In my very first story, back in 2013, the plot was utterly nonsensical and strung together because I was literally making it up as I went, and the love interest studied at the Twilight school of romance by staring at the protagonist while she was sleeping. Bleagh. Thank you for being so honest about your creative struggles, Red. 🥔

ooooh that would be great

I like the way this knitted everything together. With regards to the point at the end... one difference between the myth summaries and the trope talks is that the summaries are inherently closed-ended, there's this material and you want to capture it, while the trope talks aren't: the interesting bits aren't when you're summarizing the idea, but when you're analyzing how the ideas interplay with others, or looking for surprising places they manifest, or otherwise doing original development of ideas. That's a much richer dopamine farm, and I hope you keep cultivating it and its kin, because the thoughts in them are very interesting for us, too!

I really like the different take on the "resummarized". Whereas Blue just goes for straight-up compilation/updating where need be, Red has gone for the commentary approach. It's different and interesting. I'm excited to see more commentary tracks. I hope this means that the "Five Man Band" compilation/commentary is closer.

So I finished the video. Wow... Red.. I. You are probably my most important role model. Your's is the voice I hear the most on any given day. When you give advice in your videos or the podcast it's advice I can actually act on, because we have similar brains. You're important to me. Blame parasociallality I guess. I'm glad you figured this out, and are going to move forward and find new things to do. Cause if you hadn't, well I don't like what might have been. Thank you for being around. I would miss you if you weren't. 🥔

Fantastically storyboarded video. It's a compilation that puts together a storyline about the changing role and content of myths in the Greek world to segue into a serious discussion about the changing focus and future of the series. I don't know what will come next, but as always, OSP continues to be my watch immediately channel for all videos. 🥔

Very excited to see this pop up in my notifications. So much so that I got patreon so that I could get around my personally inforced content blocks and watch it at work. (Woops!) Anyhoo, Red, why did the Voltron reference age poorly? (I haven't watched the show, so I have no idea if it's bad or not)

KipOfTheMany

Amazing video! It was really cool to get all the heroes on a timeline. I knew the they didn’t all live at the same time, but I hadn’t understood the “ages” of different types of heroes. About the ending section: Miscellaneous Myths is a really good series, but I am *really* excited to see what Red will do instead if we wont get them as often anymore.🥔

Feels like a fitting "season finale" of the shorter Miscellaneous Myths videos

AmbushIntheDark

Megavideo is mega!

Valerie Kaplan

It's a playlist with fewer ads

Kenna

Okay, but I've watched the Rome one like 6 times, so this is perfect
