The best order to watch the Star Wars movies is the Machete Order! Especially good for first-time viewers, as it preserves the major plot twists and doesn't cause confusion from certain Special Edition changes. Watch episodes IV and V to get Luke's story. Then you get the revelation at the end of V. Next, watch II and III as sort of an extended flashback that shows how it happened, watch Anikan's fall. Then go back to VI and see Luke dressed in black Force-choking people and be more worried than otherwise whether he'll fall in a similar way. Yes, this skips I, but it's really not plot-relevant at all, and if you want you can pick it back up as a sort of "DVD bonus material" extra once you've seen the whole main story. It makes the whole saga one coherent story and preserves the plot twists and drama!
