Interesting enough there is a Mary Sue test online that has around 100+ questions that determine if your character is Mary sue or not. It goes into super details to how far a character suceeds, if there flaws are considered endearing, if they're completely blameless on any negative decisions they made, etc.

2017-04-13 01:12:47 +0000 UTCThis is probably my favorite trope talk so far! And so well formatted. But then again, I used to write Mary Sues when i started on fanfictions at like 11 - so i always try to give new authors advice, as most dont realise that they fall into this trap
