Dracula: Chapter 1
Added 2018-09-29 22:24:15 +0000 UTCHere you guys go! Chapter 1 of Dracula, with some extra music and ambiance provided by my good friend Ryan Garside.
There were two main reasons I wanted to start recording audiobooks for you all. The first was that I wanted some way to show my thanks to those supporters who have the means and the will to help support me a little more than most. The second was that I wanted a chance to practice my narration, since I feel it's my weakest aspect.
Reading a book, especially one published in 1897, is quite different than reading narration for a video. It caused me to consider the way that I read sentences more carefully, but most of all, it's taught me to slow down just a bit. When I tried doing so in this recording, I noticed that, while the length of the clips in question were almost imperceptibly longer, my pronunciation was much stronger and clearer. These are lessons I hope to take into my videos, as well.
Again, thank you all so much for your support. Please enjoy.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I almost didn't add the ambiance, since I wasn't doing sound effects too, but I felt like it was worth it, and I'm glad it paid off. Also thank you so much. It took me so long to realize what I was doing wasn't sustainable. It's not even a matter of not working as hard, either; it's a matter of giving myself time regularly to step away so that every time I work, I'm focused. If I'm right, videos should be coming out faster from now on at the same quality. Again, thank you so much. <3

The ambience was an excellent addition, and I found your narration at the climax especially chilling. I'm really looking forward to listening to more of these. As an aside, I'm glad to hear you've started taking more time for yourself recently. The time and energy that goes into your projects really shows, and for what it's worth, I'm happy to wait as long as it takes for content from creators as passionate and dedicated as yourself. Keep up the great work, and congrats on 1 million views on the Spoony video!
