What Reward Tiers would You Like to See?

This is something I've been putting off for a long time. I've thought extensively about what I want to have beyond the two basic tiers so far, but I'm at a loss. And so, I'm coming to you all to ask you: what would you like to have for reward tiers?

I wanted to address a couple of ideas I've had and why I've dismissed them. The biggest problem I've hit is that the tiers can't be TOO time-consuming to reward; otherwise they'll take away time that should be going into Down the Rabbit Hole. People are pledging for the show, after all, and I don't want to end up slowing production of Down the Rabbit Hole in favor of tiers. If I were to do this, it would ironically mean that a person's pledge may result in less content. I've seen it happen too many times to other creators.

I also don't want to have any permutation of "paying money for my attention." On top of it already being easy to ask me questions and contact me, it just feels... gross to do it.

The rewards also need to be recurring, since support on Patreon is recurring.

I know that this list is super restrictive, but that's why I'm coming to you: I'm at a loss. I'm perfectly comfortable keeping the limited number of tiers that I have now, but if there's anything in particular that you would like to see, I'd love to be able to provide that to you.

*Remembers being one of the first patrons and the gluttony of tiers beforehand* *Also remembers that not being a great thing and ended up making you burn out* To be fair, I like the tiers where they are, but I did enjoy the deep dives and essays on existing videos, so maybe have a behind the scenes tier or some post-release material.

Oh! There already is a Discord, and Patrons get a special tag in it. Here's the link: https://discord.gg/WExGWj9 I like your idea. It might be good for each Patron to give a short summary on the topic and why they think it would make a good episode so people can be informed about what they're voting on.

How about a fan Discord at like $3-$5? I'd be interested in getting to know you & your patrons. I would really like to see patron topic requests at a higher tier. Maybe you could get a rate where you'd produce topics that pique your interest, then have patrons suggest a topic, then poll the ones that sound best (or are randomly drawn) to be the next video. You could do this at a rate that assuages your workflow to like, say, every 3rd or 4th video. I already can think of a few oddity subjects that I would love to see tackled in your objective, journalistic scope.

I am a patron because I support your work and want you to continue doing it. I am not really interested in extras. Take your time and make what you want. No need to add extras or kill yourself over self-imposed deadlines (burnout helps nobody). If you really want another tier maybe ask for help researching? If you need more funding to continue producing content, just ask.

Maybe you could include some of your research. Post sources and interactions after the video is published.

Ultimately, I'm fine with the existing tiers.

The best that I could hope for with my pledge is continued video content; it seems reductive to ask for anything more.

I think the tiers are fine as it is. But maybe you could add a $5 tier where you list potential new DTRH ideas and update it when you remove or add a new video idea. On top of that maybe also have a rough percentage as to how complete a video in production is.

Further reading/viewing suggestions on the subjects you're covering?

Here's a few ideas: weekly updates that include spoilers; reading/research lists accompanying each video; or no deliverable, just another tier because one highly priced item makes the items that you really want to sell look reasonable by comparison.

Notice me Senpai! But seriously though, I would rather you continue to work hard on your videos than waste your time on some silly personalized thank you messages or something like that. I specifically support your patreon because your content is unique and your presentation is so well done. I really think your videos are the reward.
