Keeping the spirits up!
Added 2020-03-25 21:01:36 +0000 UTCHow are you all doing? I hope that those of you currently under lockdown and those of you who are adjusting to the idea of things changing pretty drastically around you are doing well.
I must admit that it's difficult to keep the spirits up, I rent a rather small 2 bedroom apartment and with the Chinese in-laws stuck here until next month (hopefully their flight doesn't get cancelled) and the options of actually leaving the house dwindling or non-existent, things are a little crowded. The one thing that's helping everyone cope is my daughter who is all smiles (most of the time).
I'm actually very used to living a rather isolated life so for me it's easy to adjust, the issue is keeping the Chinese members of the family happy as they're very used to crowded areas, going out daily to buy groceries etc, it's a big adjustment and they're going a little stir-crazy.
I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has been taking extra precautions, I know it's tough and often very socially awkward, but we're all helping each other out here.
This will pass, and like I've mentioned before I'm sure it will make lasting changes but we're in this together and we'll adapt and deal with whatever comes our way, let's worry less about the future and focus on the now and our immediate situations.
Friday I'll be having another serious video about the massive discrimination foreigners are now facing in China while all the time the CCP is trying to trick the world into thinking that it is in fact the rest of the world being discriminatory towards China.
It's important that we put into perspective just how untrustworthy and underhanded the Chinese government is as it will help us make the right choices when dealing with them in the upcoming months, taking their word at face value has always been a risky proposition and this time it has resulted in the entire world letting its guard down and allowing this virus to spread.

2020-03-26 17:20:34 +0000 UTCWent to a wedding yesterday. it was supposed to be next week, as an open air wedding on a farm 150km East of Melbourne. It was brought forward to yesterday just before restrictions got tougher. So there were 6 instead of 60 guests. It was a bit different, but went off ok. Catering changed to home-delivered pizza. It was better than waiting until maybe next year. Bride & groom looked lovely and the pizza was pretty good. It was just a bit odd having half a dozen people hanging out in an area prepared for 60. On the plus side, when plates were dirty, we got to pick another seat. It all seemed a little post-apocalyptic. No zombies, but there were a couple of Emus hanging around. So this is the new world order...
