Meeting Chinese Subscribers in America!

We're shooting a lot and putting in a lot of extra effort to make this "Quest for the Best Chinese in America" upcoming ADVChina series amazing!
I can't wait to see some of you at our screening this Saturday the 13th in LA if you can make it!

This is not intended to be disrespectful, but it seems to me that Chinese don't take people on face value, by which I mean friendliness, experience and worldly knowledge. It's all about the money, how new is my car, how big is my house, how current is my phone and clothing. It's like a complex formula gets applied to everyone, all of the time and there is a floating net-worth dollar sign hovering above our heads. It can happen, but it takes time and effort to break through that barrier and develop friendships based on personality alone. Cars, new and secondhand are a big part of that formula. For me the challenge is to take ordinary things, treat them well, but try to squeeze the most out of them in increasingly interesting ways. Its also more fun. But try and describe this to friendly citizens of China and they look at me as a tight-arse foreigner from another planet and completely miss the point. The solution? ignore the looks and keep trying!
