Watching this in 2026, and haven't seen this episode in a long time, and goddamn, my tears were flowing again. Luffy's speech at the end was probably one of the best writings by Oda ever. And Mayumi (Luffy's VA) did such an amazing job expressing the emotions.

2026-01-15 00:13:28 +0000 UTCsanji's situation is different than robin's and ussop's but it is the same in an important way i think. all three try to leave the crew because they fear in part their being involved would eventually hurt the crew: ussop worried he was too weak, robin feared the world government targeting the crew, and sanji is worried his forced marriage would target the crew too. they all try to handle their worries on their own, actually just like nami too, but luffy's message has always been the crew can and will and wants to help. luffy didnt help ussop's worrys, he shouldve been clear with ussop that he is a valued member and loved like he was clear with sanji, but we saw already luffy learned from ussop because his message to robin was exactly what she needed to hear. we are with you, lets fight your trouble together.

2025-09-04 09:28:41 +0000 UTCincredible writing on odaΒ΄s part as always!! luffy has matured and learned so much what it takes to be a real captain, how to care for his crewmates, his family and support and understand them in moments of need!! when he fought usopp and they ended the fight, luffy immediately regretted it and cried, he KNEW it was wrong and now he hasn't even lifted a finger against sanji, didn't break his resolve and even screamed at the top of his lungs that he will not let him go!! that is truly character development at its finest! knowing luffy was just a kid back then and now still is very young but KNOWS what to do and how to love and appreciate the people around him!! love him sm! π₯Ή
