So This Is Basically: Prison Of Plastic (Audio)

SPOILERS FOR PRISON OF PLASTIC IN AUDIO AND DESCRIPTION!

As promised, the audio for a video which will never be made! I could try to tone down the script, fill it with more fluff jokes, etc., but honestly... I'd feel like I was lying if I did that. I CAN'T talk about this book without talking about how much I hate that the 17-year-old child abuser who is FULLY aware of her actions is treated like a sympathetic villain because she accidentally killed her mom. That does NOT make her a better person. Crying over her actions and continuing to do them is NOT growth. Trying to kidnap a boy she has a crush on is NOT cute. It's yandere behavior.

Since he's gotten upset at me for posting my strong Lorelai opinions on Twitter, I don't think Jello would appreciate me making a public video out of them, and I do respect him as an authority figure. So you guys get this audio, and that's it. This will never be a video, and this will never be public. Please do not share it outside of Patreon. Thank you.

I forgot to say: this is my opinion and people are more than welcome to disagree with me. This is just the conclusion I came to after having read the book

I agree that Lorelai provokes hatred for any of the books reader and/or audio listeners, but I also understand the qualities that some would use to categorize her as a “sympathetic” villain. In Chapter 8, it talks about how her and Molly used to be nice to each other and even played together when they were little but after Calliope died, Molly took on her mom’s duties because her dad was too irresponsible and Lorelai grew distant and basically never dealt with her trauma, instead opting for using her epithet as a distraction. Also, before the fire, neither Molly or Lorelai had to do chores, at least by themselves, because their mother would do all of the cooking, cleaning and finances on her own. Because of this, Lorelai doesn’t understand how hard it is to cook or clean a house and believes Molly to be a killjoy and the real villain.

Some notes, for those interested: -I made a mistake by using the term "millennial" and not the more currently appropriate version of that joke, which would be "gen Z." I made the SAME ERROR in the first STIB EE and had to rerecord it after my editor pointed it out. -The planned ending tag is something I *do* want to include if I ever make another large-scale EE video. I was flattered the first time I saw someone recommend my videos to Jello and promptly mortified every time afterwards because I KNEW it was annoying. -This is probably the only place you'll ever hear me swear out loud. Enjoy it, I guess.
