[DCI] Chapter 64 - Unexpected Confrontation

A quite distinct and pleasant smell woke me up. I took a deep breath, enjoying the scent of hot, freshly brewed coffee. As my brain slowly booted up and connected to all the organic systems all over my fleshy frame, I began to notice the pressure on my chest and legs. Having a pretty good idea what it was, I swiped down my face while letting out a heavy sigh and lifted my eyelids.

The sight of my drakan lover sprawled all over my body greeted me, as expected. The sheets had been shoved halfway down so a good part of her muscular back was perfectly visible to the brightly illuminated world. My hand moved almost involuntarily and my fingers started gently brushing all over Aisha’s smooth skin, caressing it affectionately.

One look aside revealed the lack of my other, more recent romantic partner. Since my other arm rested on Levia’s still somewhat warm spot on the mattress, I could deduce that the charming Witch hadn’t risen up that long ago. Thanks to the smell that had dragged me out of the dreamland, I knew exactly where I had to glance to locate her.

And surely, our blue-skinned elf friend stood in front of the counter in the kitchen complex while preparing the black nectar of the gods. Levia wore nothing but one of my oversized t-shirts, looking insanely cute, but also incredibly sexy at the same time. Her pert, petite behind poked out from under the bottom edge as the stolen piece ended just halfway over her naked butt.

Trying my best to drag my eyes away from the alluring view which had completely woken me up, in more ways than one, I somehow managed to untangle myself from the sleeping beauty without waking up the drakan lady and pushed myself off the bed. Naturally, Levia noticed my approach and turned around, glancing up with her usual, calm and neutral expression.

I leaned in and placed a palm over her pretty cheek. We shared a few brief pecks before I scooped her up and sat Levia down on the same counter she’d been facing a moment earlier, forcing myself to be the one having to look up.

“Good morning,” I whispered after withdrawing.

“Morning.” Levia nodded faintly, her eyes following mine. “I had a feeling you two would be waking up soon so I started preparing some coffee.”

“I’m sure Aisha will appreciate the gesture greatly.” I smiled at her.

“You bet your ass I do.”

We both turned towards the source of the new voice and found the person in question staring at us from the bed, though in a completely flipped position compared to what I remembered. Aisha’s legs were now where her head should be, and vice versa. The sheets were thrown aside, her entire athletic figure displayed in its full glory.

She met my gaze and smirked, stretching her arms over her head and trying to angle herself at the sexiest angle possible. I could only chuckle at that and return my attention to the slightly more modest lady in front of me. I stole one more kiss from Levia before bringing her back down to the floor and we finished preparing the coffee together, bringing one cup to our exhibitionist friend.

A few minutes of silent cuddling and sipping in the morning light later, we jumped under the shower and made quick work of washing each other without getting too frisky. I spent a while taking care of Levia’s hair while relishing the sight of the petite woman enjoying the tender massage. It looked like it wasn’t just Aisha who was a sucker for it.

Dressed up in at least our underwear, we shared a light breakfast while the summoned chick eyed us suspiciously, perhaps somewhat uncomfortable with our choice of meal that included a little bit of poultry. Rose made circles above the Divine Fowl’s head, unbothered by anything as usual. If Levia’s temporary familiar had any qualms with either thing, it didn’t voice them out while the Witch’s fingers stroked its almost angelic feathers.

“So, it’s preparation time.” Aisha moaned unabashedly as she stretched out after taking the last bite of her portion.

“Yeah. Anything we can help with in the workshop to speed things up?” I turned to look at our alchemist and magic expert.

“Naturally. I plan to start with—”

Levia paused as a loud chime interrupted her, coming from near the bed. Our heads swiveled its way almost in sync and we watched my phone jump around the nightstand. I nodded at the quiet Witch apologetically and jogged to grab the invaluable piece of unknown technology before it crashed into the floor. Though, I wasn’t sure which side would suffer more damage in this particular case.

Checking the caller on the display, I raised a brow to myself and brought the device to my ear. “What’s up, Mom?”

“Good morning! I hope I didn’t wake you up, did I?” She chuckled lightly.

“Nah, I’m good. It’s been a moment since we started the day,” I replied, walking back to my companions.

“Good. I would hate to disrupt your beauty sleep. I bet you still stay up just as late in that new job of yours as in the previous one.” I could hear her click her tongue. “Anyway, we are done with your father’s gig here and will be on our way back home in a bit. We wanted to start early to avoid most of the traffic. We wondered if you are busy today or if we could drop by to say goodbye. No pressure, of course. Though, your father is sulking a tiny bit at not getting to see the props that were mentioned during our last visit to your place.”

My dad’s grumbling was caught in the microphone and I smirked as Mom giggled to herself. She was always such a tease. I opened my mouth to invite them in but froze the moment my gaze fell on the attractive Witch on the other side of the table. Things weren’t exactly the same as back then.

“Lucas?” Mom called out to me after silence met her question for a moment.

“Uh, sorry, I spaced out a little,” I hastily answered.

“If you have your hands full at the moment then don’t mind us, as I said,” she continued.

I considered using my work as an excuse, pushing the date of them catching me with not one but two women inside my apartment into the near future, but in the end, I decided against it. Whatever happened, happened. I had no idea when would be the next time I was able to meet up with my parents, or if this wouldn’t be my last one ever. We were about to take quite a risk and I would rather not have any regrets weighing on my mind.

“No, it’s alright. I have nothing important to take care of today,” I said, taking a glance at both of my partners and receiving nods of agreement from them. “I just have someone over if that doesn’t bother you. She’s fine with it.”

“She?” I could see the frown on my mom’s forehead.

“It’s another semi-long story. I can fill you guys in live rather than over the phone. And Dad will have even more things to see than the last time,” I added.

That got my old man even more excited, which was clearly audible through the speaker.

“We’ll be there in an hour, then. Your father won’t be able to stop thinking about this if we back out now.” She laughed. “See you in a moment.”

The call ended and I sighed, rubbing my eyes. “Great…”

Aisha snickered. “It looks like we’ll get a chance to introduce Levia to your parents much quicker than expected.”

“As I mentioned before, I don’t think that’s the best idea. For now, at least, with how fast this came to be.” I smiled at them wryly.

“Your choice.” She shrugged. “I guess we can come up with another fun story. We did pretty well the last time.”

“That is if Levia doesn’t mind.” I took a peek at the person in question.

“Worry not. I do not require to be officially professed as your woman if doing so could complicate things with your family,” Levia replied. “I know you mean well for me in your heart and that is what truly counts.”

I couldn’t help but lean to the side and present the little Witch’s pouty lips with a loving kiss at her proclamation. Aisha cooed at us teasingly but we ignored her antics, even though I could feel the corner of Levia’s mouth curling up a little bit.

In the given time, we covered ourselves and got our stories all synced up. But, that still didn’t help to stop me from getting all nervous and uneasy at the prospect of welcoming my parents into my home with two hot girls by my side in like a week or so from the day we had literally talked about marriage with one of them.

As much as I wanted to go along with my yesterday’s statement and resolution that I did not care about what others would say or think anymore, it was still a bit tough to fully embrace it when it came to my parents. I knew I would inevitably choose to displease them a bit rather than abandon either of my companions, but that slightly uncomfortable feeling would still persist, even though I was pretty sure Mom and Dad would never let something like this get between us. It was one of those unfounded and silly worries you just couldn’t get rid of no matter what.

Soon, the hour of judgment arrived and I welcomed my parents with the usual handshakes and hugs, leading them to the kitchen table. Aisha and Levia were already there, both dressed more or less appropriately. My drakan mate had jumped into shorts and a tank top while my elf lover wore one of her own, fitting hoodies and a black skirt.

“Mom, Dad, this is Levia. Levia, these are my parents.” Introduced both sides before seating my family down on one side of the table and joining the girls on the other.

“Nice to meet you, Levia. I’m Jasmine and this is my husband Dominic.” My mom smiled at the blue-skinned Witch and shook her petite hand. “So, did we interrupt a friendly visit or is your little home getting even more cramped?”

I chuckled. It wasn’t exactly little anymore with its size pretty much doubling by now. But, I had no idea how they actually perceived it. Theoretically, they were supposed to feel like the current state of my apartment was exactly what had always been but I didn’t know the specifics behind that. Maybe at one point, they would feel its real size, or they were going to forever call it small.

“For a while, it might get a little cramped,” I answered with a faint smirk.

“Oh?” Mom glanced between us curiously.

“Levia is my friend.” Aisha captured our attention. “Unfortunately, she’s lost her job recently and found herself in a quite difficult situation.”

I nodded along. “I overheard them talking about it on the phone a day or two after your last visit. One quick chat with Aisha later and we ended up offering our place for Levia to stay until she gets back on her feet. Neither of us felt like doing nothing when a girl was about to land on the street from being unable to pay rent.”

“Our?” My mother grinned at me and I rolled my eyes, partially thankful that was what she was focusing on.

“What do you do?” my father asked curiously.

“Remember all those super amazing liquids and other substances used in ads that make things look more all perfect and incredible while usually being nowhere close to reality, especially in food commercials? She prepares that stuff. You can say that she’s a modern-day alchemist.” I chuckled, maybe because of how close to the truth that was.

“I also like to draw things like various patterns and tattoos,” the Witch added calmly. “They sometimes made it to Aisha’s photo shoots whenever they were presenting some kind of a magical fantasy replica or original design.”

“Yeah. From what I heard, the earnings aren’t too great at such positions. I can imagine how you could have ended up in financial trouble after getting fired.” Dad nodded to himself while stroking his chin. “I’ll ask around my contacts and see if no one is looking for people with your expertise.”

“I will appreciate it greatly.” She lowered her head respectfully. “Although, there is no rush or pressure. I am considering my options right now and I might even have a try at what Aisha is doing. She often told me that I effortlessly fit into cosplay with my figure, presenting outfits instead of weapons.”

“I can see that.” He smiled, examining the short beauty with a professional gaze.

“So, what are your sleep arrangements?” Mom squinted at us playfully.

“Come on, they are adults. Sharing a bed is nothing special in the current age.” Dad chuckled.

“Impossible.” Mom shook her head. “He would definitely take the floor while leaving the bed to the girls. You can’t deny that.”

“I guess you are right.” Dad eyed me with some pity, though I couldn’t deduce if it was due to Mom’s teasing or my situation.

I cleared my throat. “Actually, we do. It’s pretty big to comfortably fit us all. We had a brief argument over this, of course, but Aisha can technically sleep in the middle so no accidental trespassing can occur. She hogs space worse than Dad.”

“You rascal! This new job has really changed you! How many damsels in distress are you planning to rescue and drag into your bed!” Mom snickered impishly. “Well, from the looks of it, it should fit four people if you all snuggle up. There seems to be enough room for a bigger one too.”

Watching her amused expression and how casual she was about her teasing suggestion made me think about it again.

But, before I could collect my thoughts and perhaps seize the opportunity to speak up, Levia beat me to it. “And what would you think about that arrangement, Mrs. Jasmine?”

“Well, of course, I want nothing more than for my son to live a happy life. If he thinks he can handle more than one woman at once, then I wish him good luck. He can ask his father if even just one is doable after years of relationship.” My mother smirked and shot my dad a wink. “Why?”

Levia turned her face to me and I met her enchanting, violet eyes. There wouldn’t really be a better moment than this, and I had intended for this meeting to end up with no regrets, so I nodded at the lovely lady. I saw a barely noticeable hint of a smile tugging at the corners of her soft lips before she refocused on the woman opposite her.

“Because I enjoy his company,” she answered, slowly moving her hand closer to mine over the table and placing her palm over it. “And after consulting it with Aisha, I informed him about it.”

“Oh?” My mother’s brows rose from surprise and curiosity.

“And he accepted her.” Aisha smiled warmly, adding her own hand to the pile.

Silence fell onto the table as my parents stared at our little mountain of interlaced fingers, then at each other, and then snorted together, chuckling to themselves.

“He is that kind of a person,” Dad said.

“True,” Mom agreed. “Remember that time in high school when he was asked out by two girls who seemed really into him?”

“Yeah.” Dad nodded with another snicker. “He rejected both because he didn’t want to hurt either.”

They laughed together while I groaned at my embarrassing moments being fully exposed in front of my lovers, hiding my face behind my free hand.

“So, Lucas has always been this popular with girls?” Aisha regarded me with an amused look.

“He has.” Mom shook her head. “We honestly thought he would have issues settling down after that funny incident but things ended up fine. Perhaps more than fine now.”

“You are alright with… this… then?” I asked a little apprehensively.

My parents exchanged one more look and they surrounded our pile-up with their palms.

“As your mother said, we want you to live a happy life,” Dad began. “If being with multiple partners does that for you then great. We couldn’t care less if you were gay or whatever else as long as you were happy and weren’t hurting yourself or others.”

“Perhaps that unexpected situation from the past was a sign from the heavens,” Mom added with a smirk. “Are you stopping at two or…?”

I couldn’t help but snort and roll my eyes. “I don’t have a number in mind. But, I can’t say what the future will bring. There might come more. In the end, just as you want me to be happy, I want them to be happy with our life. So, they will most likely dictate when it’s too much.”

“Or your apartment and wallet will.” Dad laughed openly.

“Thankfully, I now don’t have to worry about either.” I shot him a grin. “This new gig of mine is doing better than well.”

“Should we start asking around our place for any offers? It would be nice having you guys near. There are some pretty and spacious homes in our area too.” Mom hummed happily.

“Not yet.” I waved my hand dismissively. “You can say that I share a connection with this place. It’s where plenty of good things happened to me. I would like to stay for as long as it’s comfortable for us.”

Our conversation then devolved into casual chatting about various random stuff, including my mother grilling the girls about their thoughts of me and my various aspects, and the girls grilling her about me from the past. They were especially interested in my romantic life, curious about the topic thanks to its earlier unusual introduction.

But, before we got lost in neverending words and sentences, I reminded my father about a big part of the reason behind their visit and the ladies both sauntered off to the storage chamber to gear up for him. Even though I knew exactly how they would look, I was as excited to see them as my dad.

When they walked back into the original apartment, his chin landed on the very floor from shock. Aisha just grinned at him while wearing her now iconic armor and holding her giant greataxe over her shoulder. Levia had picked her gray sundress and black coat, both items we had gotten her from the Seed.

He was the most interested in my warrior woman and her arsenal so Aisha brought out a bunch of other weapons we had on hand while Levia introduced my mother to her various concoctions at the kitchen table. I was fairly sure I caught them mentioning some kind of blue liquid and my mom pocketing a vial or two of it while looking like she was striking an extremely valuable drug deal, smiling devilishly at the little Witch.

It was a great distraction from the massive threat looming over us and we enjoyed the fun and pleasant interactions to the fullest, raising our own morale right before the great fight. Naturally, my parents had no idea about that and most likely never would.

An hour later, we finally wrapped things up as holding my parents any longer would make them stuck in the suburban traffic and they really wanted to avoid wasting so much time standing unmoving in a complete jam. Therefore, we shared a few more words as I escorted them to the entrance and we went our respective ways.

“We’ve been delayed a little bit, but after receiving the blessing from my parents, I’m pumped up for anything.” I grinned at the two beauties standing by my sides. “Let’s get those preparations rolling and finish our task.”

They nodded in unison and we walked into Levia’s workshop.

Our battle against the evil Witch was just around the corner.
