Where is my fedora?

Well, you all know where I'm going with that, don't you? No further ado: release 16.2.1 of the R.E.A.L. VR mod supports Indiana Jones and the Great Circle :-D

[Imagine a whipcrack sound effect here ^_^]

I won't spoil anything for people who haven't played the game yet, but just know that you'll be traveling together with Indy (actually, traveling as Indy, since the adventure is played in first person) to some of the most beautiful and iconic locations in the world. And all the while punching Nazis in the face. I mean, it doesn't get any better than that, does it?

I have a small confession to make about this one. When the game came out and people asked if I would be making a VR mod for it, my knee-jerk reaction was to say no because I didn't want to sink a huge amount of time into extending my framework to support the Vulkan API only for the sake of one game. But after the Christmas break, when I was done with DL(S)SS and things finally slowed down a bit, I went through my repository and saw that the old code I had written to support RDR2 had not rotted as much as I feared, so I decided to check Indy out. In the end, what took me the longest was porting the DLSS stereoscopic fix from DX12 to Vulkan, but it was worth the effort because the vegetation in the game just didn't look right without it ;-)

News flash: Speaking of DL(S)SS, this just in: Cyberpunk 2077 had an official update today (v2.21) to support DLSS 4 and the new Transformers model. I tested it briefly and everything appears to work correctly in VR, yay!

Latest updates for Indy will be added at the bottom of the post.

Games list

As usual the mod archive is common for all my VR conversions (28 are currently available). Here is the updated list, complete with information about which special features they support:

Please note that all trademarks belong to the respective owners, and that no copyright infringement is intended or condoned. And of course, you'll need to have a legit copy of the original games that you want to play in VR.

Mod setup and game options

IMPORTANT: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle encrypts both the saved games and the user options files with the SteamID of the player (why a single-player game would do that is beyond me, but that's what the developers decided to do). That means RealConfig will NOT be able to preselect the graphics options needed for VR and you'll have to do everything manually, so please read on and follow the instructions in this section to the letter or the game will not be working correctly.

Before installing the mod, run Indiana Jones and the Great Circle flat (not in VR) and access the in-game menus to set the following mandatory options:

In CONTROLLER > AIM ASSISTANCE:

In VIDEO > SCREEN SETUP:

In VIDEO > GRAPHICS SETTINGS:

In VIDEO > ADVANCED VIDEO SETTINGS:

Then under ACCESSIBILITY > CAMERA you might want to turn Camera Stabilization on and Screen Shake off, just for comfort's sake, because this game has so much head bobbing that it makes even flatscreen players nauseous.

Under VIDEO > GRAPHICS QUALITY, mind that your Texture Pool Size is not set too high, as if you go overboard with the pool size VRAM might start thrashing and performance will absolutely tank, to like 5 fps, and it will be hard even to navigate the menus to put things back to normal.

As usual Path Tracing should be off, as the beautification in VR is not worth the huge performance hit.

At this point you can finally quit to desktop and start installing the mod. WARNING: in case of crashes, at this moment or anytime later, do not follow the recommendation to run the game in safe mode (start it normally instead), as safe mode would reset all the options to their default values and you would have to repeat the setup process from the beginning.

Expand the mod archive into the game folder where "TheGreatCircle.exe" is (for example on the Steam version, which is the one I developed and tested the mod against, the default folder will be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Great Circle), then run RealConfig.bat. Even though for this title RealConfig cannot preselect the game options, it still performs some crucial installation steps without which the mod will not function.

Non-Steam editions should also work, but if you encounter issues please upload your RealVR.log file somewhere so we can sort them out. Also, always make sure that your video drivers are updated to the latest version.

The next time you launch Indiana Jones and the Great Circle it should automatically display in your VR headset and you can proceed to adjusting the resolution you want.

Setting the resolution

You will need to play in windowed mode. The high resolution needed for VR can be set very easily by bringing up the mod overlay and looking for a slider in the main "R.E.A.L. VR" tab named "Target pixels per degree". Set it to a value approximately in the range 15-30 depending on your GPU, then press the "Adapt resolution" button to set the game resolution to your preferred value. You can do that at any moment, even during actual gameplay. The target PPD you choose will be remembered and re-applied automatically across sessions.

Cutscenes

Cutscenes are fully 3D and allow you to look anywhere without restrictions. The cinematics quality is one of the worst I've ever seen though, because the developers really went out of their way to optimize everything that would not be visible from the forced camera! There are missing chunks in the world, vanishing or duplicate characters, the usual feet dragging in the ground, frozen or wrong animations, levitating props... you name it. That's a pity because it detracts a bit from the narrative tension in the cutscenes and gives them an unintended comical effect.

Input

You will want to use a gamepad to play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (XInput-compatible controllers like the ones from Microsoft are the best for my mods). Keyboard and mouse sort of work too, but there might be issues, like mouse clicks activating other windows at random or some entries in the game menus being unreachable with the cursor; thus, in order to have a smooth experience, using a gamepad is highly recommended.

Don't worry about console-player syndrome: in my mods aiming is gaze-driven and extremely fast, intuitive and accurate, so even if you're used to playing FPS with your mouse, give your gamepad a chance ;-)

HUD

In Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, to show all HUD elements in their correct 3D positions (like quest markers for instance) I used the same technique I employed for the Uncharted and Horizon Forbidden West games.

This has the unfortunate side effects that the HUD will always be headlocked, i.e., following your head rotation, instead of looking as if it was suspended in space in front of you; also, some HUD elements like the subtitles will jitter/double slightly when you look around.

The HUD rescaling can be finely customized, so you won't miss any of the important information that appears at the sides. If the default size I suggest doesn't work for you, you can tweak it in the "INDY" tab of the R.E.A.L. VR mod overlay, using the "HUD scale" slider with default at 0.5 (NOTE: I'm not referring to the usual sliders found in the "R.E.A.L. VR" main tab, which won't have any effect in this title).

The "HUD scale" slider in the "INDY" tab takes effect immediately while playing, without any need to bump the resolution.

Gameplay

The Indiana Jones and the Great Circle mod supports 6 DoF tracking, i.e, the camera will follow your head rotation and movement. However, full 6 DoF is only enabled in cutscenes and other moments when you don't have control of your character, because during actual gameplay this title is in a constant "aiming" state, meaning there's always a crosshair or dot displayed where you are aiming (for example where your whip is going to strike). So during gameplay the mod will restrict you to 3 DoF, or rotational tracking only, as enabling positional tracking would get your aim out of alignment. [UPDATE: Due to popular demand, I added an option to the "INDY" tab so you can keep 6 DoF active even in gameplay. If you turn it on, you might need to recenter more frequently to keep the crosshair from drifting out of alignment.]

In the "INDY" tab you can change the world scale, from small adjustments to playing with dolls or giants, and even force the game to render to a 2D virtual screen in case you should find a section too hard to play in full VR. You can optionally bind the 2D virtual screen toggle to a hotkey, which might turn out handy in case you are bothered by the weird cutscenes and prefer to experience them in the original 2D rendition.

Updates and known issues

[I'll post new information here as it becomes available.]

The game uses 3D models for your journal, maps, books and the like, showing them as actual objects that you hold in your hands instead of flat renderings on the HUD. While an immersive choice, that could even hint at an official VR version having been considered at some stage of development, it has the unfortunate problem that the papers are drawn very close to your eyes, to the point where they become a little hard to read. To work around that problem, make sure Indy is standing (not crouching) and just crane your neck forward and down. The booklet will be pushed to a much more comfortable position, and it will also move left/right as you turn your head so that all information will be visible.

Graphics options (except for the mandatory ones that I listed in the setup section above) can be tweaked in many ways, both from the game menus and by manually setting cvars in config files, so you should have a lot of freedom adjusting the tradeoff between image quality and performance to your liking. Soon Brandon will have a video on his channel with some helpful hints on how you can do that and the kind of results that you can achieve.

Comments

I am having a specific issue where the mod HUD (pause) cannot fully be accessed. There is an invisible wall for my mouse cursor. I cannot navigate to any of the top tabs/settings. any ideas?

Alex Kaminsky

In Cyberpunk it works perfectly but I can't get it to work with Indiana Jons only with version 19_0_2. Any solution?

wolfrain

Can you put a copy of your RealVR64.log file on pastebin.com and post a link here please?

Brandon(Post Maester)

no I haven't

Derrick taylor

Sorry, been a bit since I scrolled down this far, did you get it working?

Brandon(Post Maester)

Sorry, haven't scrolled this far back in a bit, have you got this figured out?

Brandon(Post Maester)

the latest mod doesn't work on the great circle. I did everything that your video suggested and the game runs in flat screen in vr. I noticed the one of the file says openvr. I run open xr with my vavle index headset. could this be the problem?

Derrick taylor

Game just will not inject with VR.. I start the game it waits like 10 seconds and then runs it without real mod

Virtual Samurai

Define "hitching"? :) like stuttering of the game or shakiness? For Indy?

Brandon(Post Maester)

Hey, anyone had random hitching lately using the latest v16.2.1 download? Asking because it was working really well then all of a sudden I had hitching. I assume it may be due to the latest graphics driver update from Nvidia, but it's across just my for this download. Any thoughts?

Major Straffe

Glad you are enjoying it :)

Brandon(Post Maester)

Holy crap. I just played Indy today with Lukes VR Mod and the visuals are stunning and crystal clear.

bpatchesnet

People have gotten that when they don't have the display/video settings set correctly. I get the same error when trying to change those settings while in VR as opposed to doing it flat. Double check against the install video and make sure you have them correctly set. You will need to disable the mod and change them flat if you don't, most likely.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Any advice on dealing with Indiana crashing on start up? Running on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Driver 572.16 Error: lockfree_table capacitity exceeded

Darren Schwarz

What do you mean? Workaround for what?

Brandon(Post Maester)

I'm curious with the new DLSS4 if you find another easy workaround? Hopefully making things easier lol

SurealSamurai

Yup, been mentioned a number of times. You are always welcome to throw requests out there though :)

Brandon(Post Maester)

Random question but I just finished watching Last of Us series 1 and wondered if anyone had suggested a mod for the PC version (soon to be versions with the release of Part 2) - it’d be awesome to experience the post-apocalyptic world of Ellie and Joel!

DQ

I don't think there is a real objective answer to that. I would say Link Cable for least amount of compression, but you would need to look up best debug tool settings as well for your hardware. Many people like VD as well. Those would be the most popular probably. Link software can be finicky for some people's systems and VD is broken with the current Meta update last I read. I'd definitely try Link Cable if you have a cable. If that works well, go with it. I have no issues using VD unless it is broken by an update or something of that nature while I get disconnects with Link Cable and the Meta App has had issues on my system with performance and installation in the past. Link Cable does offer a built in OBS source with REAL though so if you want to do any capturing of your actual headset view, that is a big plus.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Hey, what’s the best connection method for PCVR when playing Luke Ross’s mods in terms of performance and visual quality? Link Cable, Air Link, or Virtual Desktop?

Solitude

In the game tab of the REAL overlay there should be an option to switch eyes.

Brandon(Post Maester)

any way to change the eye you aim out of in games like cyberpunk? I'm left eye dominant and left handed so its a little awkward.

Hanzo Slaybanger

Are you using VDXR in the streamer app along with Oculus runtime? You could try OpenXR runtime as well to see if that works better for you. I know the newest Meta update broke VD performance somehow, but I still haven't gone and looked at the specifics. I believe that is V74 that is broken. I mean if Air Link has the same issue that is probably not the problem, especially if it works on the other system but just fyi. You want to avoid using SteamVR though. I am guessing you don't have a cable to test with. Can you try with Air Link and send me a log file? Don't open SteamVR, just connect the headset to your PC via Air Link and then launch the game from your monitor. You could also try launching from inside the headset or the games .exe file, for some reason, some people have better luck with different options.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Support Request Amd 7900 XT Cyberpunk crashes after very shortly displaying the mod ui. RealVR64 Log: https://pastebin.com/4jVA3h03 It crashes every time using Quest 3 and Virtual Desktop and tried Quest 3 with Air Link. The exact same thing happends in stray - which makes me think it is not game related. Second pc (with only Amd 6600 xt) starts both games in vr. (but cyberpunk obviously unplayable because of the graphics card). This makes me think it is not about the virtual desktop setup (same for both) and also not too dumb to install the mod (did the same on both systems).

JPPresents

There are videos on Youtube along with files to get RDR2 working still. It has not been updated since Luke was forced to stop working on it so it does not have any of the current framework features. You can still play it in VR though. We just can't offer any support here. There is a dedicated channel on the Flat2VR discord for it.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Well once again Ross, you're making me spend money, hahaha... I just bought Indiana Jones and I'm about to play it with your mod. I'm so used to VR that I no longer like or find AAA games generally unimmersive without this option. On another note, I wanted to ask you, since you mentioned RDR2. Do you know anything about this? I remember a petition for signs (which I signed on its day) to allow you to continue the VR adaptation of that game. Greetings and thank you very much as always :-) (sorry for my english, I come from Spain)

Eduardo Robles

You mean they have artifacts around them when moving? That would be from AER 2, 1/3 and 1/2, much more fluid but there will be motion artifacts around things. 1/2 has less than 1/3. You can switch in rendering mode but 1/2 is harder to run. 1/2 caps at your refresh rate while 1/3 is 2x refresh divided by 3. So, if you are running 90hz, 90 for 1/2 and 60 for 1/3. 1/2 is great if you can run it, you can also lower your hz if possible on your headset to lower the fps requirement. You have to hit that that fps cap solid for it to work correctly. You can also try Legacy which is easier on performance but much less fluid and has motion jitter when thing move past your or sideways. You can find them in the rendering mode dropdown of the REAL overlay main tab. Black bars are most likely from the Hfov optimization which keeps the game from rendering beyond your headset fov. You can try reducing the "reduce shaking" slider in the REAL overlay main tab. If you turn off Hfov optimizaiton, you will lose a fair amount of performance. If you are using a Meta headset with link, you can go into Oculus debug tool and change the Fov tangent multiplier to something like 1.1:1 to extend the Hfov more.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Tried Avatar and Indy with a 7800X3D & 4090 over VD w/ Q3, and I keep seeing black bars when I turn my head. Is that normal? Also, static stuff in both looks fine, but most moving things don't look right.

Justin Davis

Cant believe this works on my good old 3080. I use 15 ppd which isnt the clearest but still absolutely fine and im getting a stable 72 fps. Had a feelin this would get a vr mod at some point. Perfect fit for vr :)

Nicky Butler

DLSS 4 looks absolutely amazing w/ Cyberpunk, combined with DL(S)SS the image quality is near pristine. Performance mode with the new model looks almost as good the old Quality mode. There is a performance hit with the new transformer model but you can gain performance back by getting the next Nvidia driver release early by specifically installing the upcoming drivers from CUDA toolkit (Nvidia) 12.8 release.

Manny64

Hmmm, I know that for some reason the inventory doesn't seem to work with DLSS. I wonder if the issue you are having is related to that somehow. I don't think Luke has gotten time to work on that yet. I don't think this happens for many people though, only had a few people report it. What DLSS quality preset are you using? Quality, balanced, performance?

Brandon(Post Maester)

You mean rotating in the game or you rotate in real life? You can shake your head no to recenter the VR view.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Hi Luke, hi Brandon. Many thanks for your work guys! I just installed Indiana Jones mod and it works great. I noticed, however, a small issue with the physical body turning. When rotate 180 degrees, Indy's body is appearing on the screen (like I can see it form behind). Is there a way to fix it?

Artur Pietruszewski

I'm having an issue in CP2077 now where entering and exiting the menu, exiting cut screens or finisher animations causes a terrible frame drop for about 7 to 10 seconds then everything catches up again. I can still play but man that is annoying and immersion breaking now.

Matthew Kinsey

Are you on game pass? You may need to move the game to the C drive if so. I'm not currently sure what all is giving people so many issues with running the config file.

Brandon(Post Maester)

say not compatible

Luis Garcia

thx you so much its amazing in vr indi take life

jojo jojo

The shaking of the monitor view is normal. It is alternating frames and you can just visibly see that on the monitor, whereas your headset is alternating between eyes, so you can't tell :) I plan on doing a more exhaustive video on setting up REAL in general and overlay settings and so on that features Cyberpunk. But I wouldn't count on it coming out for a while. Going to be a long and tedious process. Just as a hopeful word that we are trying to make things more new-user friendly over the course of this year :) Of course that doesn't help you now! Can you screenshot your in-game settings and email me them at chronowake@gmail.com? I know we had a thread going but I don't remember everything, sorry. Did you already try doing a fresh install by deleting the game folder entirely and reinstalling? Also, are you using two monitors or a wide screen monitor or anything out of the ordinary about your setup? RGB software running ?

Brandon(Post Maester)

I haven't spent any real time with it yet. I'll try to check it out today.

Brandon(Post Maester)

same problem !!!!It seems many people have this bug

Wallpu

In Cyberpunk 2077 DLSS 4.0, it seems a bit off with DL(S)SS. Things only get properly stereo after a few seconds still, without any movement. If they're moving, the stereo effect is a bit off. Looks all right at first glance, but the issue is extremely noticeable when standing near NPCs, or just by looking down at the ground.

Fábio Orsi

Open realconfig.bat in a texteditor. Put ”REM ” before the check for an userconf and save. Run realconfig. That helped me…

Patrik Holmström

Ive tried everything, in game, real vr settings, but nothing fixes the screen lagging out when i turn in game (CP), ive used legacy 1/2 and 1/3 but only mono works, is there any possible known reason, ps on my monitor screen the game is shaking for some reason and i think that has something to do with it

Evilbenny

I’d absolutely love to see HZD with DLSS and higher resolution!

pampalini303

EDIT: I have IJ on PC game pass. I installed the REAL VR mod into the folder where the game launches but every time I try to launch it from Game Pass it momentarily shows the LUKE Ross splash screen and then the entire app crashes. I have used the Mod for months on Cyberpunk (bought on steam) but this is the first PC game pass game I have tried. Is there a specific launch sequence I should be following for Game Pass games? > It's installed in C:\XboxGames (as Luke suggested) > I get the following error message when I run Real Config: ---------------------------------------------------------------- Version 16.2.1.19435 Fixing folder permissions... .\TheGreatCircle.exe: Access is denied. Successfully processed 27 files; Failed processing 1 files ---------------------------------------------------------------- I assume failure to mod the .exe file is the culprit but I don't see anything in prior comments addressing this. THANKS for any help. Can't wait to try IJ.

Seth Hopson

Luke, please, may you consider adding DL(S)SS on Horizon zero dawn too? It is a pity that many games have it but this does not...the problem is that in-game antialiasing creates a lot of shimmering regardless the rendering resolution (I am on 4090 so I tried 3900x3900 too)...as some one else said, the remastered edition could be less interesting for VR due to higher demand for the GPU, but DLSS is a must have for this game!!

Dante999

when i run realconfig .. im getting an error that says the game was never run .. i ran the game 3 times now and tried the realconfig after each run and it still giving me the same error

david resler

Other than the game release post or possibly a post that FP was added, like in Hogwarts and Outlaws, no :) Feel free to ask if you are thinking about a game or two.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Is there a resource that says which mods are 1st or 3rd person? Thanks in advance!

Adam Munoz

It's not at the top of the page. The newer mod is lower down on the page. Please update the top post with current mod as it's so confusing.

Bart Grudzien

Bart Grudzien

with Ghost of Tsushima I think it affected the windowed mirror and the UI/HUD only

D S

Try unblocking the REAL folder by right clicking on the zipped file, selecting properties and then unblock at the bottom. Then drag the files over and run the config file again.

Brandon(Post Maester)

i am forced to use 16:9 aspect ratio as every other setting loses the correct ratio, i'm trying to figure out if there is a way to use a more "square" resolution as it looks we are wasting a lot of pixels with 16:9 resoltuion, or am i wrong ? changing windowed and/or fov has no effect, any other combination other than 16:9 gets wrong, what's the point to have other aspect ratios if there's no way to use them ? any clue ?

Tiger Man

update video card drivers i had the same issue in flat a couple weeks ago, it started the first time then it won t start anymore until i updated nvidia drivers

Tiger Man

for me it does'nt work 😒

Wallpu

Dumb question probably: Can i use this on the Xbox gamepass version?

Big Chap

Thanks so much Luke! This is amazing! I really appreciate all your work. My friend Cisco is going to enter the VR world thanks to this Indiana mod!!

Ángel Moreno Alcalá

when I launch the game the mod hud appears very briefly then returns to desktop... I followed all of Luke's instructions and have no problems in other games (Cyberpunk, Stray, GTA5, Ghost of Tsushima.. .) RTX 4090 + i5 12400f

Wallpu

i get error the game appears to never have run, but i have ran it

gamer G7

I don't think there will be a visual quality difference between the two at the same resolution and settings etc. You just get what looks like an average of somewhere around 30% more performance. Uses a lot more power though. After the reviews, I really think I am going to sit this gen out and just hold onto my 4090. The price hike for what you actually get is just too much and I think this is a good gen to hope people stand up to Nvidia a bit. Probably won't happen but I can hope :)

Brandon(Post Maester)

What refresh is your TV? 1/2 should cap your fps at your refresh rate as should Legacy.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Glad to hear they are working well for you. Dark Souls in VR was an absolute joy.

Brandon(Post Maester)

By "other mods" do you mean other games Luke has modded? If yes, what ppd do you play them at. Try increasing the ppd value and see if it improves the visual quality. Are you trying Indy? What kind of GPU do you have?

Brandon(Post Maester)

What rendering mode are you using in the REAL overlay?

Brandon(Post Maester)

FIXED - the game will lock itself to the dispay/monitor connected refresh rate. My fps is capped to 60fps, I'm using the frame counter built into the RealVR settings to see this. I see it hover to just over 60 at times (60-63) but not any higher. I see the 60fps being hit from when the fps counter is activated on the game intro launch screens to playing the game itself. I've been through the settings and made sure I've followed them to the letter (in particular fps limit is set to 1000 as recommended). The game is very optimized and have played from low settings to customised and find it pretty consistent at hitting 60fps, if VRAM is exceeded the fps drops to around 5fps which is a known issue (See DF video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQhVyXGRqgI&t for details and optimization) My setup is as follows... 4080 super 16GB, 7800x3d, 32GB RAM, Quest 3 over link cable, set fps to 120 in meta (and 1.0 resolution scale), set ASW in Oculus Debug Tool to disabled. Is anyone else seeing this?

Taz

Everything looks pixelated to me, especially when I look 3-4 meters ahead. I have the default setting of 22.9 PPD. What could be the cause? Could it be related to the game’s resolution settings? I have a 4080 Super. This doesn’t happen with other mods. I’ve set the Crystal Light to 72Hz and 100% resolution in PiTool.

Burhan Polat

got indy dark souls far cry 6 Pandora cyber all working great on pixel light just had to setmidmap to 0 in the ini files they look and run fantastic

michael whatley

Hi luke, Perhaps you can figure why, as playing in 2160p on my LG TV C6V 4k 3D, I generally play in AER 1/2 that gives me steady 60fps in 32 ppd all maxed out, but as I have some gpu margin each time I try AER legacy I can't pass 60fps (30fps per eye so all choppy) where it should give me 120fps (60fps per eye), right? AER legacy is even less gpu consumming vs AER1/2 where it should be the opposite... Something seems to block my fps to 60fps Vsync is globally disabled in driver, disabled in RTTS

chtiblue

Works flawlessly with my game pass download. Thank you!

Paul Warren

For me, the difference in visual btw old and new dlss is noticable in cp 2077, much sharper in dlss quality, pretty happy :) . Is there a quality difference btw 4090 and 5090 in this process?

Skaparadise

Hi, there is a slider for the Hub in the Indiana tab which you can access by opening the Real VR mod UI and then hold X on the XBox controller and click LB/RB to navigate through the tabs. The hud slider will increase or decrease the distance of the hud - yes, I found it also unreadable in the original state. :)

Sabine G.

Just wondering is there no way to adjust the ingame hud? It's really close to your face and hard to see the health bar or read text when using the book as everything is so close. The sliders in the mod UI do nothing except the distance of the mod UI but sadly the ingame hud seems to be untouched by it. I can use all 3 sliders and nothing changed. Since it doesn't go into a "stationary" hud mode like in CP2077 where I can look around without my hud moving along it's really uncomfortable to read anything and have to shove my HMD around to have a peek into the corners where the text is.

Hoshi82

So does it use the new DLSS preset as soon as you update? No forcing required?

Manny64

DLSS version 3.10.1 is out in DLSS swapper. Same version that just got added to Cyberpunk. Tried adding to AFOP and it seemed to work. Looked much sharper but also a performance hit. Of course, the new drivers could make a difference. Swapping to it seems to work in AFOP at least 🤷‍♂️

Brandon(Post Maester)

Tipping me over the edge into unplayability unfortunately. My 3070 laptop is probably bottom rung but I think I’ll go back to previous version for cyberpunk as that was most stable for me.

Sean Lewis

Game pass should work. Just make sure you have the game installed on C drive.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Thank you so much for the mod! QQ, can I use it with my xpass Indy copy or do I need to own the game? Cz I'll buy it right now, pal.

AaronCLS

https://www.patreon.com/posts/welcome-new-tour-117463449 That will get you started with installation. What headset? PSVR2? What kind of GPU/CPU do you have?

Brandon(Post Maester)

I believe there's a cvar controlling it

LukeRoss

Where is a tutorial to play pc games in VR2 with Luke Ross mod ? I just can play Skyrim ..

fabio

Just remove or rename the RealVR64.json file :-)

LukeRoss

Please read the post carefully! You should configure the game to run windowed, not fullscreen.

LukeRoss

Indy starts fullscreen (showing REAL mod overlay), and doesn't crash, but minimizes to tray after 2 seconds. When I click tray icon it appears again (starting openXR Animation in WMR again) but minimises after 2 seconds again, with just black screen in headset (G2). Followed installation instructions as always. Set graphics as instructed. Config.bat indicated successful execution. I (as Laurent mentioned in his post) have game installed in steam apps common on D: Drive (instead of C: Drive.

tennenbaum

I didn't mention the RealRepo and game folder. I meant just unblocking the REAL folder itself that you download from the Patreon post. I think people are running into multiple issues depending on what drive their user folder is on. I'll email the Luke and let you guys know if I hear back.

Brandon(Post Maester)

I don't really know what Luke recommends for that issue. I'll have to ask. If you know what you are doing, you could try getting it to look in your D drive instead. The config file also can't make any changes to the encrypted settings files for this game anyways so you could give it a shot. You can always replace the config file if you mess up. I'm not knowledgeable enough to give you a solid answer. It is basically looking for a file to make sure the game is installed and has been run, then creates the RealVR dll

Brandon(Post Maester)

You keep the flame burning for Dead Space and I'll keep it burning for Dark Souls 3 😁

Brandon(Post Maester)

Maybe try running the config file again.

Brandon(Post Maester)

I messed up the Indiana install and didn’t change the in game graphics before apply the Real mod. Can’t get back in the game now to change. How can I uninstall the mod and do it correctly this time lol. Was way too eager

Martin Armytage

I'm having trouble with cyberpunk update 2.21. Keeps crashing in vr mode but was working yesterday before the update

Matt Hall

Has anyone forced DLSS4 with Cyberpunk via DLSSTweaks (Preset J)? Curious about the boost in quality. Too tired to try it for myself today.

Manny64

No way to toggle ON/OFF the crosshair or at least the HUD?

chtiblue

Amazing! Thanks Luke!! Speaking of changing new game engines Dead Space is calling! 😎🤩

Hi, I think I found a bug in the RealConfig.bat batch file, for Indiana Jones game. My user is by default redirected on my D: drive (like My Videos, My Pictures, etc.), and the batch file seems to assume i'm on C:. When I display (through an echo command) the string which search for the config file, before jumping to "neverrun" label, it assume I'm on C:. instead of D:, so the installation fail. I didn't check for now the remaining command after this configuration test, but I assume I can safely bypass this test? Please confirm me this before I made a mistake I will regret! ;) Edit: this is my usual saved games folder: "D:\Users\xxxxx\Saved Games"

Laurent Salmeron

Not working with the XBOX Gamepass version for me. RealConfig.bat gives me this error: Fixing folder permissions... ./TheGreatCircle.exe Permission denied and the game starts in flat. Steps I've did: 1. Copy RealMod zip files to the game content folder: F:\XboxGames\Indiana Jones and the Great Circle\Content\TheGreatCircle.exe 2. Running RealConfig.bat and getting the Permission denied error 2. Adding a folder exception to Windows Defender for the F:\XboxGames\Indiana Jones and the Great Circle\Content\RealRepo and the Indiana Jones game folder like Brandon mentioned 3. Running RealConfig.bat again, same error Funny enough, running TheGreatCircle.exe with right-click as an admininistrator, gives me a permission denied error in windows. This has not yet happend before on my PC. I'm running Windows 10 education edition but my user is part of the administrator group. Any ideas?

Sascha

Awesome work Luke as always!

chtiblue

Can you put a copy of your RealVR64.log file on pastebin and post a link here please?

Brandon(Post Maester)

Haven't tried it yet. Had to reset my PC yesterday so I have to reinstall all the games and set them up again 🤣 Luke said he tried, and it worked fine. Saw one or two other people say it worked for them as well.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Nice, I’ll be playing it. Glad I waited a bit. Just kinda wanna wait til I can get a 5090, but that might take 6 months 🤦‍♂️

Cereal Keller

Does this work with the new cyberpunk patch ?

AssManGhoul

VD always, the link software is horrible. Plus your wire free.

Stuart

Can anyone confirm that this or any other game works properly with the Oculus Rift CV1? Ever since the introduction of AER, all mod versions with this run at ~3fps. There was supposedly a way to disable AER but this never seemed to work, so I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm they have this mod working with CV1.

Justin Hansen

There is a world scale slider in the INDY tab of the overlay, make sure it is set to 1 or 1.1 1.1 seems what it has been set to for recent games. Gamepad is recommended since the game window will exceed your monitor window, which is what is causing the mouse issue. There is an undock box you can check in the overlay tab of the REAL overlay so you can move the overlay around.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Game Pass version here: VR seems to be working: I can start the game, no visible glitches, I can aim with my head but I have few problems. In the overlay I cant access the INDY tab. Mouse is stuck at some height and won't go any higher (triggers on gamepad don't change anything either). One more thing is the NPCs look: is there a way to make them not look like little people?

Hi, what do you suggest with a Quest 3 between using Virtual Desktop and Quest Link with USB cable? Cable has higher maximum bitrate (960mbps) but has limited encodind width around 4000pixels total (2000 per eye). On the other hand Virtual Desktop with godlike mode has a much higher encoding resolution (around 3000pixels per eye) but bitrate limited to 500mbps. (I am with 4090 and dedicated Wifi-6 router so no problem in both cases)

Dante999

THank you so much my good man, you are doing Gods work in VR, thanks you for this mod and keeping the VR community alive.

Stuart

Make sure to unblock the file after downloading it. Or make an exception in your antivirus.

Brandon(Post Maester)

For me the GamePass version of Indiana Jones crashes as well. Here is the RealVR64.log https://pastebin.com/yy1JwxSy. Also when running the RealConfig.bat it tells me that it could not modify the TheGreatCircle.exe because of access denied.

johnglad

Running into the same issue. Any ideas?

ronnie gentry

This is actually sick. I was thinking about playing this game in VR when it came out on gamepass since I was also playing CP2077 with this mod. Thank you!

Edward C

Hi, PC GamePass Version. I'm stuck in a loop where it says "ERROR: The game appears to never have been run. Run the game at least once to create your user profile, then quit it and try installing the mod again" but I played already half of the game in flat and restarted the game many times .. and the PC aswell.

Yann(Otaku)

Hi Brandon, I have emailed you the real log can you please pass this on to Luke for me?

Darren Stoller

Hi Darren, I am having the same issue here. Quickly tried Hogwart's and Cyberpunk afterwards which work still fine (also on version 16_2_1. So, initially all settings and preparation was done as given and when you boot Indiana Jones the next time, you briefly see the mod overlay and then a stutter fest begins. It cripples on until the NVidia logo where the game finally gives up and crashes: The error reads: Lockfree_table capacity exceeded https://ibb.co/frwQ6LQ I will paste the log here in a second as well. Here it is - Pastebin wasn't possible as the file was too big: https://pastejustit.com/help-17252

Sabine G.

Hi Luke and Brandon, keep on getting class lockfree _table message and can not get passed it. the only thing i could not find to change was DLSS frame generation? Pimax crystal light

Darren Stoller

Please put a copy of your RealVR64.log file on pastebin and post a link to it here.

Brandon(Post Maester)

No plans on either of us doing it :) You could compare yourself by dropping DLSS 3 back in. Haven't checked DLSS swapper to see if it supports switching to DLSS 4 yet but it's just a matter of switching out the same file as before I believe. They may have added the ability to switch the file in the Nvidia app now as well. I know they were planning on it, but I don't have it so not sure if it is available yet.

Brandon(Post Maester)

It should. If not, please put a copy of your RealVR64.log file on pastebin and post a link to it here.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Thanks, but the mod is not working with the gamepass version. I got an error. 0x87e11838

I was not expecting this to come out so soon. I thought it would take at least another year, just like Avatar. Looks like I have to buy this game at full price. I only buy games when I can play them in VR.

Arthur Pelio

Great news about Cyberpunk, and I was planning on playing Indiana Jones next so what can I say, rabbit, hat, standing ovation :)

Sean Lewis

Does this work with the Windows Version of the game? Sorry if I missed that in the text above.

Caddy Shacc

So ready for a new adventure in VR and super excited to play Cyberpunk with dlss 4 today too!!

Virtual Samurai

Hi, I was wondering if there are plans to make a brief benchmark showing the previous dlss vs the new dlss 4? I've seen 2 of the only yt videos popping up so far for cyberpunk dlss4 benchmark (showing a slight fps drop, in return for less noticeable ghosting on text), but im more interested in how the change and improvements are in vr.

Chocolate Chip

I think that would be pretty hard to do since they are in 3d. Would probably end up making the game world also enter 2d at times outside of cutscenes.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Thank you! Skimming through your notes, if 3D Cut-scenes are so wonky and unimmersive, can you add a setting to optionally auto-switch to 2D for those scenes without having to press a hotkey each time?

Brent Winters

Unless the new version has changes for that particular game or something new added to the mod framework across games, no need to update for every game :)

Brandon(Post Maester)

Thanks Luke!, Indy was my number 1 game in my wishlist, such an amazing gift!!! (I can confirm that transformers DLSS works in Cyberpunk and delivers a better image quality than standard, although at some performance cost, around 10% I estimate)

Kprime23

Excuse my ignorance, and I appreciate that no other changes for other games are highlighted in the release notes, but when a new mod version comes out is it best practise to re-install it for other games that are being played? p.s. thanks for the hard work and release for Indy, its in my library and look forward to trying it out!

Taz

I thought this was something about running the MODs in Linux XD

Cercata

Lets gooo

Sascha

Please let us know about your experience with Pimax. BTW now both mipmaps options should be defaulting to off when a Pimax headset is detected, since apparently their runtime cannot deal with mipmapped textures correctly.

LukeRoss

Damn you Luke for dropping this right when Rebirth releases for PC []-D What do i dooooooooo? haha regardless thank you so much as now i cant wait for my second playthrough so hats off to you sir or is that fedoras off? I was going to buy on steam then i realised my gamepass hasnt expired yet so if anyone who has tested this version and everything is ok please let me know.

Gaz252

Did Nvidia update drivers for DLSS 4 today also?

Matthew Kinsey

Thanks for all your hard work, I purchased this for Half life and now you got me spending my hard earned bucks in the steam store on more titles 😀

DjFingazUk

Just purchased and downloading this afternoon. Cannot wait to play Luke. Hopefully it plays with Pimax 🤞
