Become a master of time in CP2077!

This update needs to be seen to be believed. And actually, it needs to be seen in VR, but since VR videos are not yet a thing I made a video on YouTube :-)

Become a master of time in CP2077!

Comments

Hello, I'm a new subscriber. I purchased my cyberpunk copy from GOG games but I'm having a hard time getting the mod to work. Do I have to buy all games from Steam?

Abe Haile

i have the same problem

The version included in the Start Here post should be stable for all but perhaps the newest game(s) if something released very recently. In general the newest version should work for all games. Here is the post that contains the newest version . https://www.patreon.com/posts/release-9-2-0-76568134

Brandon(Post Maester)

Am I missing something where are the files. I looked under cyberpunk 2077 no files in any of the posts. I am super lost. I found it at one point then it said I needed an update and I'm scouring the board all over. We need some pins.

Helldiver

Hey Jose, sorry for not seeing this earlier! Did you solve your issue? If not, do you get a RealVR64.log file in the game directory?

LukeRoss

Hi, I installed the MOD correctly but the game dont run on my Quest 2, it just runs the game on the screen of my PC. What can I do ?

Jose Candela

I think I'm having this issue, where do you select the VR renderer?

Antony Evans

Thanks for your report, Norias!

LukeRoss

Well, as soon as I wrote this issue, I booted it up and fixed it. I just switched the VR renderer from "SteamVR" to Oculus. Not sure how it might have gotten changed, but that solved the issue. Lol. I was running the Oculus Quest 2 Leaving the post up and this one just in case someone else ends up having the same issue.

Norias

I'm having an issue with cp2077, where the game seems to move with every bit of head motion, creating a strange "stutter/shuddering" effect that makes it sadly unplayable. It's running at 90+ FPS at least, so it's not a framerate issue, is anyone else having this issue? I'm using REAL with Elden Ring and the issue is not present there, so I'm pretty confused...

Norias

The latest mod release always supports all Patreon games, currently it's 4.2.0 attached here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/66999345

LukeRoss

Hi, where can I get the last update por cp2077? I have a message ingame telling i have not the last one. Thanks

ConspiraNoias

Pretty sure I got VR perfkit working and with NIS its looking good so far. For some reason I am unable all of a sudden to get DLSS in this game and others despite getting raytracing(except cyberpunk) so any help on that would be appreciated. For VRperfkit I just loaded it into another game, took out the notepad file and the yml file after i adjusted settings i wanted and put into CP2077. I avoided trying to put in the .dll because i heard it kills the VR.

CryptVicious

Whoops, no, that's not intentional! It will be fixed in the next release. For now as a workaround you can toggle anything in the Advanced section (for instance turn off "Allow camera roll" and then turn it back on again) and that will trigger a save of the whole tab

LukeRoss

Switching the map back to 2D view mode from the mod's settings isn't saved. When you start the game it's always 3D. Not sure if that's intentional or not

petrus munteanu

Hi Darren, please use the "Reply to comment" button to continue the conversation otherwise you're creating a new thread each time. Also don't post logs here because it makes the comment section hard to navigate: upload them to pastebin.com and only put the link here. Your log shows that you are using an obsolete version of the mod, please update to 4.1.1 and run RealConfig again!

LukeRoss

I keep getting CTD after about 10 seconds. Using Quest 2, with a 3070. Any ideas? Looks good until it crashes

Darren Aeikens

Ah ok, in that case I think there's not much to do to further increase quality while maintaining a good performance apart from upgrading my system. Thank you for your explanation!

Chimaeira

No, it's not downscaling. The PPD slider actually changes the internal resolution used by the game, so it doesn't matter much what resolution you start with: the only thing that matters is the final PPD value. It's best to use it instead of just changing the game resolution because the "Adjust" button also sets the ideal aspect ratio

LukeRoss

Because, lowering the PPD does make the image more fussy so I assume it's downscaling from my resolution setting. So my question is, does it matter in terms of visuals vs performance whether I use your mod's PPD setting or the game's resolution setting. Which should I prioritise?

Chimaeira

Oh sorry, yeah I am using OpenXR and DLSS on quality. The performance I'm getting is because of my PPD setting I'm guessing?

Chimaeira

SteamVR is not a good choice for WMR headsets, due to problems in the driver. I recommend switching to OpenXR. Getting 60-70 fps at 3920x3920 is pretty amazing performance for the 3070! Are you using DLSS already?

LukeRoss

Hi Luke! I'm using the Reverb G2 (at 100% in steamvr) with a 3070, 5600x, 16gb of ram. Playing the game on an M2 drive. PPD is at around 21 with the resolution at max in the game's video settings. I get around 60 - 70 fps generally with it dipping to 50 in really resource intensive areas.

Chimaeira

Hi Ruben! Maybe I can help. What are your system specs and headset?

LukeRoss

I'm really enjoying my time in Cyberpunk VR. Is there a guide or post on the mod's settings somewhere? I want to strike the perfect balance between visuals and performance but I don't know where to start. EDIT: I think what I would like to know is: Do I set my resolution to a high value and adjust with the PPD setting until I get satisfactory performance or do I lower resolution and increase PPD? Does it matter?

Chimaeira

nope, but i've fixed this using a dualshock 4

Daniele Hakkai Salinetti

Thank you H D, let me know how the cable experiment went! I would really like Microsoft finally acknowledging this bug, and the more people report it to them, the higher the chances they do something about it ;-)

LukeRoss

Hi Daniele! Are you using DS4Windows?

LukeRoss

Hi! First of all, this mod is great, nothing to say. Just one problem for me, my PS5 controller keep disconnecting from the game, it usually works good so it must be a conflict i can't understand

Daniele Hakkai Salinetti

Interesting. That could be it. I'm indeed playing with xbox wireless gamepad (not the bluetooth version, the usb dongle one). I'll try to play with a usb cable tonight and will get back here to tell how it went. Huge thanks for the support, really nice of you.

H D

In my experience, that usually comes from a bug that Microsoft stubbornly refuses to recognize where the WMR portal interferes with wireless gamepad operation, especially when vibration is on. I can reliably make the WMR portal crash and show all kinds of tracking problems just by having the (Microsoft-made!) Xbox controller vibrate when connected wirelessly. Could that be the issue for you?

LukeRoss

Hi there. Thanks for all your mods. This one in particular is crazy. I have a weird problem though, the tracking seems to go nuts, especialy when I drive any vehicle. When I walk around, it happens too but way less frequently. But when driving, it looses his mind in a really random frequent way. It makes the view randomly poping everywhere around the character. I'm on reverb G2 but never had this issue before. And I just compared with boneworks in the same setup (same room, same lighting conditions) to be sure, no issues at all. Is there someone else that had the same ?

H D

Sure, you can zoom out in the 3D map view. But if it doesn't work for you, you can just turn it off by unchecking "Use 3D for world map and character creation (experimental)". LoL about the third person and motion controls :-D

LukeRoss

Anything that improves performance, perhaps lessens the ghosting. Maybe some of your own sharpening options that doesn't rely on reshade. Please fix the map view though. 3D is nice but you cannot zoom out to view the districts. The view when you first open the map is jarring. Maybe even incorporate a third person view somehow! Work in some motion controls!!! hehe.

Rob Cram

I might still refine the CP2077 mod, sure. What did you have in mind?

LukeRoss

@lukeRoss are you still going to work on CP 2077 or is that it now?

Rob Cram

You mean that it's too bright when you are inside a car driving in first person?

LukeRoss

Thank you so much, Mathijs! Welcome to the Patreon <3

LukeRoss

HOLY SHIT THIS IS AMAZING!!!! One of the first games I play in VR on my new gaming pc and..... this is.... actually one of the most amazing VR experiences I've had. I suddenly aim 10x better because of the head tracked (I played the game in normal mode 2 years back when it was released) and being inside of the game is just a whole new experience. Playing the campaign again from scratch. Thank you so much for creating this VR mod. Next to Half Life Alyx this is favorite VR game. I have no idea how you pulled it of but thanks so much. Would love to play Apex Legends in VR aswell. Heck, any game really. Next level stuff, would recommend it to anyone. Can't wait to try RDR2 in VR too.

Mathijs Luijten

Can you please add a Gamma adjustment option? Cyberpunk is too bright on my Quest 2 and the gamma settings in game only work on my monitor, not the headset.

Neko

Please use the "Reply to comment" button to avoid creating a new thread each time. The headset image should be perfectly stable when you turn your head. What are your system specs and which headset/VR runtime are you using?

LukeRoss

It does shake violently on the desktop display, yes. When I'm standing still in game it looks great, but when I turn my head, or move in game the shaking becomes noticeable in game / in headset and makes the game very blurry and hard to see.

SokkzVR

Hi! You mean that the image in the headset shakes, or only on the desktop (the latter being normal with my mods)?

LukeRoss

Hi! I just recently downloaded and installed the 3.3 CP2077 VR mod and am having an issue of a shaking screen. The game and VR runs smoothly but for some reason the game display shakes back and forth violently, making play impossible. I've tried lowering the graphics to the lowest settings, adjusted the display resolution, even tried re-installing the game / mod but nothing fixes the shaking.

SokkzVR

The setting you're looking for is called "Aiming HUD size", in the main overlay page!

LukeRoss

Hi Luke I have a question about the settings: How do I go about bringing in the ui towards the middle? ร  la shrinking the safe zone. When I'm holding weapons the minimap, ammo, button prompts, etc. are too far to the sides for me to see. I've tried the many sliders but it doesn't seem to have any affect on the UI when holding weapons

Bryan

If you are on an RTX 2060 like I am, Run RDR2on Dlss medium settings at 2160 (i think) runs really well and smoothly. even though that's medium settings, it looks better than the flat version I tried on my ps4. The only problem is, that you will go to the old west via time machine and everyone will wonder where you are.

Rob Green

The Link cable doesn't need a special connector on the GPU: the video signal is compressed and any port on the motherboard will be fine

LukeRoss

Anyone running a link cable quest 2 with 3080ti? No USB c on there but will the one on the mobo work with full frame rate?

WIG

Thank you, WIG, both for your review and for your enthusiasm!! Comments like yours give me huge professional satisfaction, and they really make me feel like we're building something important and valuable here in this beautiful community <3

LukeRoss

Well I finished it today and still feel like I missed a whole lot. I will be going back for another play through. I played 87 hours and had a load of side missions left and didn't even get the Porsche ๐Ÿคท also my ending didn't satisfy as I lost people I could have possibly saved. This has been such an amazing experience I even upgraded my GPU to 3080 ti to get more out of it and I have a whole host of complimentary mods. I will go in next time with a different character and try to do as many opposites to my last run. Also hearing that ExpansionS as in more than one big dlc are coming so excited to see what is on the horizon. Cyberpunk in vr us my favourite vr experience to date and the beauty of the world will keep my attention. It feels like an actual place rather more than just a game. I got the sun ending apparently and have some questions about it but won't post that here as do not want to spoil for people. Thank you Luke for everything. I am super grateful

WIG

And what was very strange indeed, I noticed virtually no DLSS/TAA artifacts. Bizarre

Rich Helstrip

So I sent the Index back today and got out the ol' Vive again. Works like a charm, mod detected it was a Vive, adapted resolution fine. At first I was disheartened as it took a lot to get past the screen door but then I skipped time to the night and oh my effing god forgot all about it. Totally different experience, I drove and drove for ages just in awe of the vibrant Night City lights and neons, there's honestly no other game that puts the OLED to use like this does. Not to mention the edge to edge clarity & zero god rays (I have the GearVR lens mod). I'm not quite sure yet but I think I might actually prefer playing it this way!

Rich Helstrip

Hi Stewart, welcome! Did you extract the archive into the bin\x64 folder? Is RealConfig.bat in the exact same folder as Cyberpunk2077.exe?

LukeRoss

Hello and thank you for the MOD . This is my first time setting up a VR mod and not sure if I am doing this right. I used the video to follow along and extracted the 3.3 version to my cyberpunk location but only the square flatscreen version showing. Am I missing a step to have full head dedication as seen in videos on the page? I will put my stats below and if there is a discord maybe a member can walk me through on would be amazing . Looking forward to really putting this mod to use. **Looking through the previous post I attempted to run real config it is giving the message "This folder does not seem to belong to any of the supported games." CPU: Alienware M17 R3 GPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz RAM: 16 GB Gameversion: 1.52 (GOG) Modversion: 3.3.2

Stewart S

Thanks! It was a random discovery tied to the work I've done for slow-motion and to make the menus 3D

LukeRoss

I'm so happy about the awareness / hacking indicators now working, particularly as Luke lowered my expectations when I asked him a little while ago that he couldn't make them work. Excellent job!

Richard Judd

Greetings from Cologne :-) If you interested in my RDR2 settings, i can give you my oculus app settings, odt settings and ingame/Mod settings - i think, i got quiet a good experience with them. My setup - as far as i can see - is identical to yours. Concerning cyberpunk: Since dlss fix is missing and the game is quiet demanding, i would at least wait for the dlss fix. If dlss is such a difference as in RDR2, the wait will be worth it. Just dm me.

Critical

Greetings from Germany I'm really excited about the mod but unfortunately I have nearly no experience with the right settings for graphics and the HUD in VR games. CPU: AMD 5800X GPU: MSI 3080 RAM: 32 GB Gameversion: 1.52 (GOG) Modversion: 3.3.2 I'm hoping that someone with an Oculus Quest 2 can give me some tips on the settings that will then really refine the mod. I use the default settings but think many users here have the knowledge to improve that. Thank you in advance!

Caddie

From the SteamVR plugin for WMR update: "Adds support for titles that submit frames using alternate poses (e.g. GTA V R.E.A.L. mod)."

Cercata

I don't work at any of those places :-) It's only a matter of experience and LOTS of time and patience.

LukeRoss

What's your secret Luke? How do you find the stuff exposed by these games? Everything's compiled...or do you secretly work at Rockstar and Microsoft...and Hangar 13...and ... ... how do yoU fiNd tHe exPosEd biTz? ;-) No seriously, if you work at Microsoft, can you fix their VR-Bugged Flight simulator?

D S

I think that's reasonable and probably something Luke could make happen. RdR2 had that as a button as you rode..HZD may have too. In either case not unreasonable to ask Luke because he makes mad stuff happen with his mods

D S

Was there a performance improvement in this update?

D S

Haha yep, sounded like a daft questions when i asked it but i find it a little awkard swivelling around when i am wired up to everything! I'm playing on my Vive pro wired but have my old OG vive set up for wireless so will have a go with that. Still think a button would be good...kinda like looking in review mirror. And hey, playing this is VR is something special!

Greyhaim

Look behind is not implemented by the game in first person driving, but in VR you can just turn your head IRL!!

LukeRoss

Hey Luke, Awesome update and having a great time with this. Is there any chance of actually creating a 'look behind' for first person driving? It's one of the only things missing for me. thanks

Greyhaim

You can use sharpening effects with reshade to get a clearer picture. That is really the next best route to go after increasing res. CAS, quint sharp and just a tiny bit of filmic sharpening are what I currently use. Luma Sharpen is also good but I found quint sharp to work better for me. Filmic sharpen brings out more detail of the the npcs, if that is not important to you, you don't really need it as it can cause extra noise and haloing.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Can some fellow gamers post their settings and setups please? I am using HP Reverb G2, RTX 3090, 16 Gb RAM, SSD, WIN 10 64B, - 3420x3420 res, DLSS Quality and Most graphics settings on Low with LOD/Textures High. Is playable and fairly sharp distance details. Not as good as the highest res available without DLSS which is still playable but too much stutter. So it's a good compromise. Edit I am just waiting for another 16GB of RAM to add which might help a little.

Rob Cram

I appreciate all of the hard work you've been doing on this mod and the others.. thank you so much. Also with this new update, noticed some performance boost ...

James Robinson

The double flicker of the HUD has always been there, it's a game bug. It's quite visible in my first video, https://youtu.be/vR2LnatpuFo?t=22 Not sure if that's what you're referring to. I don't have any other flickers of the HUD elements with 3.1, so it might also be tied to other conflicting mods?

LukeRoss

What you need to do is explained step by step in the "README for RDR2.pdf" file that is attached to the post above. You're NOT supposed to move anything around manually. Just unzip the archive into the game executable folder, without creating a subfolder, without moving anything around manually and without changing the folder structure in any way; then run RealConfig which will take care of the rest.

LukeRoss

Hi... I am having trouble installing this mod cause in this new folder the instructions do not match the files distribution in the same way... The realconfig.bat is at the root folder of this download's zip file, and then there are subfolders for each game modded... So I moved the contents from RDR2 mod folder to the game folder from steam, but there is no realconfg.bat there, so i pasted the realconfig.bat from there to the game too, but NOTHING is happening when i try to access the realconfig.bat a window opens at full speed and closes with no visible prompts... what am i doing wrong please? all the tutorials seem outdated with this new folder of mods... I AM CONFUSED.

Juan David Cadena

Tried the new 3.1 update and experienced a double blinking hud element in my 8KX. I noticed slight flickering of the small red status icons in the lower left of the screen and then when some dialog text came up there was a flashing double image of the dialog. Switched back to the 3.0 update and the issue went away.

william mumford

Hi James! When you enter the new 3D world map, your position is high above the city. So (apart from the first second or so when the map flashes in 2D), to see the city you have to look DOWN. Then you can lower your point of view or raise it again using the gamepad triggers to control your altitude, and the thumbstick to fly around. If you don't like it, you can always return to the old 2D map behavior by deselecting "Use 3D for world map and character creation (experimental)"!

LukeRoss

I am loving the update. It works so well on my Alienware Aurora R12. The only problem I have with this latest update is that the fast travel map is unusable. It appears just fine for a second but then shifts to something that is not even viewable. Sometimes the map appears behind me. Sometime I can zoom in and out and see the map, but basically I can's use it at all.

James Kiryakoza

The HUD cannot be resized while in 3D map mode because the alignment with the world markers would be lost. If you need to see the legend on the left to make adjustments, you can either momentarily turn off "Use 3D for world map and character creation (experimental)", or use the "Free HUD for 5 s" button!

LukeRoss

I love the update. I just have one issue. I cant find a way to resize the map HUD. the upper and lower corners are outside the view area on Oculus Rift S. Unless I missed it . is their a way to resize it?

Jesse T

I bet true blacks look great on CP2077 in the Vive. I think you will have better frame rate due to lower resolution but you can super sample to get a bit if a bump.

WIG

Wasn't expecting Silverhand to start having flashbacks from a previous life I must admit!

Rich Helstrip

Anybody playing this on the OG Vive? I'm having to RMA my Index but can't fathom not playing for over a week. Time to dust off old faithful. Quite excited to see all the dark areas in OLED to be honest and wondering if there's any performance difference, especially with the magic adapt resolution button.

Rich Helstrip

That's a perfectly reasonable request, WIG. I refreshed the .zip archive attached to the post (no version number bump to avoid forcing everyone else to download again). Just update with the usual drill and you'll find a new "Enable danger/awareness markers" checkbox in the Advanced section of the CP2077 tab, checked by default. Please be aware that the game caches the markers, so after you toggle the checkbox you might need to do a 360ยฐ with your character to see any effects.

LukeRoss

Wow got to try this last night and slow Mo is so much fun. I hope to continue to see this in future game Vr mod releases. I do wish that I can disable the NPC icons again as an option. I like to have complete no HUD or any markers. On the last version they were not there and everything was clean ( I use a health bar remover mod too. ) Can you please add the option to remove all non essential icons? I don't like eye above them or seeing who has seen me. I only ask because this was not visible in the last mod. I know kiroshi eyes and all that but just prefer cleaner more immersive. I have a mod for mission markers only visible when pressing L1 too. 3d city is awesome but I haven't been using it it's orientation when it loads up always makes it so I have to take time to work out where I am because map isn't completely centralised alignment in vr always having to be looking down. Then use left stick to move the map where as 2D I can flick onto map to see certain bridge exits. ( I don't use mini map either in game) Had to check character creator too!!! That is awesome. I could spend way too long in there!!! 75 hrs in now playing VR thank you ๐Ÿ™Œ

WIG

you've done it again Luke....another awesome update!!

SharkySi

Other games will certainly be coming!

LukeRoss

As you can see from the video and the other comments you seem to be the only one with the problem, so it might be a conflict with some other mods you have installed?

LukeRoss

This version of the mod 3.3.0 has a bug. After installing this version all of the text on my hud is missing. When I rollback to version 3.2.2 the hud is back to normal.

drowhunter

not that I think these cyberpunk mod updates aren't good (they're great!) or anything... and I can only imagine how hard it must have been to get this running in the first place (so i fully understand the need to take a breather for a few weeks and continue to refine work on it instead of changing gears immediately to focus on something else)... but... can we expect other games to get the realvr treatment in the coming weeks? kinda don't want to see the potential of the realvr framekwork become bottlenecked and tied to Cyberpunk service updates.

sharilah

Yes, there is a toggle in the RealVR menu to turn the 2d map back on

william mumford

Does the map have 2d mode? Personally, I still feel that 2d mode is more convenient

้‡Ž็›– ๅธธ

Yep meta thinks oculus is a an electronic kaleidoscope. No more candy games! Thanks for taking VR seriously. Hopefully future devs will stop thinking its an afterthought.

D S

Thank you so much for your feedback, William! The crazy part is that I'm just unlocking the potential that's already there in the games... I'm doing nothing that the developers themselves couldn't have done with a tiny extra effort on their part, if they only believed in what VR can achieve ^_^

LukeRoss

I am so happy I am providing some small support for you. You are producing amazing VR content when so many developers are just putting out meta/oculus low res cartoon games. This last update is like a whole new game for CP2077. I tried it on a gun battle, and a 150 MPH motorcycle ride through the city. Now working on it with a heavily armored cyberpsycho, getting pistol head shots while he is swinging his massively armored arms around at a speed that would be difficult to deal with at regular speed. Tremendous fun. And then there are the blades! normally in VR you hit the enemies with blades and all you really see is some body parts lying on the ground when they are all dead. With your mod update you can watch the dismembering in slow motion (if you like that kind of thing) and see the liimbs floating through the air. Currently playing this and horizon zero dawn, after previously trying to play Cyberpunk with VorpX. Your mod is 1500% better.

William May

There's a single control, but you could turn it on just before creating a new character and then turn it off again when you're done. I imagine the problems with the 8KX are the usual misalignments due to the canted displays? Or do you have them even with parallel projections? Rotating the map with the stick is unfortunately not possible for the moment

LukeRoss

Thanks for the great update! On the 8KX when using the new 3d map my cursor is not positioned correctly over the icons, I have to aim left of what I want to select. The icon descriptions also do not show up. Would it be possible to add a rotation ability to the map controls? I really like the 3d map but I'll have to keep using the 2d option for now. I noticed that the 3d character creation toggle is tied to the 3d map option. Can those be separated or are they linked in the game. engine? Thanks again for the excellent mod! Really look forward to your next project!

william mumford

Be sure to keep the right thumbstick pressed long enough. One full second can feel like a very long time in the heat of battle! Unfortunately any less than that and the game will interpret it as the "quick melee" command

LukeRoss

Very cool updates and I love the mod! Unfortunately I canโ€™t seem to get the time slow-down to work correctly. Not sure if itโ€™s my timing or what. Seems like sometimes I can get it to come on but not in the heat of battle. Can we alter the button input or timing somehow?

Nebukanezzar

Hey WIG, nice find! There's no KB/M support for now, it's gamepad-only

LukeRoss

Hi Luke Is there a hot key (bindable) for slowing time? Getting showdown demo vibes looks so cool https://youtu.be/1O5knLWY8zA

WIG

Been playing the f.e.a.r games again recently. Great fps horror games. Look forward to trying this out

Nicky Butler

That means I don't really need Sandevistan but can go as Netrunner and use the SlowMo Feature simultaneously. Thats a great build.

bpatchesnet

Wow. I have to test this right now

bpatchesnet

You're sure to beat 2 k patrons now Luke.

D S

The metro mod of course course!

D S

What exactly do you find wrong? I made some "omg I can't believe that's why they don't seem to work" errors early on.

D S

Arthur Morgan

Awesome work as always! Just finished 100% completion all in vr. Already itching for your next project.

Jesse

Damn man, all the quality of life features and nice little extras, fantastic work my guy.

Alexander pierce

I mean but you gotta be able to control time like the Matrix right? Luke Genius Ross

zer0

Nice. Thanks again for your work. That Metro mod coupled with your VR work on the right settings is incredible. As a day one VR adopter I kinda figured I'd be done with all the jaw dropping experiences by now. Turning a corner and seeing night city , on dusk, in all of it's virtual glory using the external camera on the metro just left me speechless again. It's a shame you don't spend more time above night city in game. Such a spectacle in VR. Speaking of spectacle...that Elden Ring...beautiful game...just sayin' ;)
