Cyberpunk 2077 troubleshooting

I'm so excited about this new mod, my head is spinning from all the positive feedback and anticipation I'm getting from you guys!

Cyberpunk 2077 is a complex game, and it can be punishing on some PCs. Also, it's not completely free of bugs yet, even before adding the VR layer. So I'm expecting lots of support requests, ranging from "the game doesn't even start on my machine" to "how can I improve my fps on this GPU?"

That's why I'm jumping the gun and creating this troubleshooting post even before I finish packaging the mod :-) [The mod went live on Feb 26 at 8am EST]

I'll add new questions and solutions as they come up; let me get started with issue Q1, which occurred during testing and almost prevented Cas from being able to record her upcoming video (oops, did I just announce that?):

Q1: The game flatlines every time I launch it. It's not the mod, because I haven't even installed it yet. Update Feb 28: The issue should be solved with today's official patch (no version bump, CD Projekt RED calls it "1.5 Hotfix"). Please note that you need to upgrade to release 3.0.4 of my mod, attached to the announcement post, after you install the Hotfix.

Status: It's a game bug related to audio. From the analyses I made of the crash dumps, I suspect it might stem from CP2077 using an outdated version of Wwise.

A1: [Old text for informational purposes] The developers know about the issue and are working on it: https://forums.cdprojektred.com/index.php?threads/currently-investigated-issues-last-updated-19-02-2022-patch-1-5.11098819/ Luckily there's a workaround, described at the same link (basically you need to disable or remove from your Device Manager some conflicting drivers that the Wwise version shipped with the game doesn't support correctly).

Q2: Will the game run with good fps on my PC?

A2: It mostly depends on your video card, since at VR resolutions the game is almost completely GPU-bound. There is an easy way to find out more or less what resolution you can expect to sustain with good frame rate: go to https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html and find your video card. If it's not listed there, then don't even bother ;-) Otherwise, take the square root of the benchmark number for your GPU and multiply it by 16.65: that will give you the approximate resolution that your card can render in CP2077, with the default options that RealConfig provides and with fluid frame rate. Example: if you have a 2080 Ti, the benchmark result is 21,759. Taking the square root we get 147.5, and multiplying by 16.65 we get 2456. So the closest resolution you'll want to choose from the VIDEO page for a 2080 Ti is 2430x2430.

Q3: The game flatlines for me and I have the Steam version. It worked without the mod, so it's not Q1.

Status: Being investigated. If you have the GOG version, see Q6 instead.

A3: First make sure that the game actually still works without the mod by renaming dxgi.dll to dxgi.bak and launching the game. If it doesn't flatline, please do the following: in Windows, open the folder "%LocalAppData%\REDEngine\ReportQueue". It will contain several subfolders. Sort them by date, zip the most recent one, upload the archive anywhere (Google Drive or any hosting service that you prefer, as long as it doesn't need an account for me to download) and give me the link. I can't promise I'll be able to fix your issue, but at least that will give me some information to go on!

Q4: The overlay controls cannot be reached with the mouse.

A4: That happens when the in-game resolution you selected exceeds the Windows desktop size that your monitor can show, because Windows will prevent the mouse pointer from going offscreen. There is a workaround: the overlay can also be navigated with the keyboard (using the cursor keys for movement, the spacebar to select and enter fields, and Ctrl+Tab to cycle tabs) and/or the gamepad. I will try to do something about this issue in future releases.

Q5: How can I uninstall the mod?

A5: There is actually no need to uninstall if you only want to play flat for a short time: just press the "Stop VR" button and select the 1920x1080 resolution from the game menu. If you need other resolutions, with the game not running, rename dxgi.dll to dxgi.bak in the executable folder and the mod won't attach anymore (for RDR2 the file to rename is RealVR64.json to RealVR64.bak).

Q6: The game flatlines and I have the GOG version.

A6: Please disable the GOG overlay. After that the game should start correctly!

Q7: I don't get good frame rates on Medium, High, Ultra, Psycho with ray tracing... How do I fix that?

A7: There are two reasons why RealConfig selects mostly Low settings. The first is that the RED game engine just cannot reach decent frame rates at VR resolutions on current hardware, no matter how costly your card is. The second is that (at least in my own, very subjective opinion) the game looks best in VR at the settings I configured. The higher you go with lighting, ray tracing, post-processing effects and so on, the murkier and hazier everything becomes, and besides frame rate REALLY takes a dive. So, please stick to the settings I supplied, and only change the resolution! Also see Q2 above for what you can reasonably expect from your GPU at the default settings selected when you run RealConfig.

Q8: In the inventory, the tooltips showing item descriptions, comparisons, etc., appear way too high in the interface. You can't even see the description of the perks you are supposed to pick. Update Feb 28: The issue should be fully solved now: please upgrade to release 3.0.4 of my mod, attached to the announcement post!

A8: [Old text for informational purposes] Unfortunately this was just confirmed to be a bug in the flat version. Apparently they failed to account for the aspect ratio in some portions of the user interface. I will try my best to fix the issue in future releases, but I can give no guarantees because I have no source code access to the game. For the moment, the only workaround is to temporarily put the resolution to 1920x1080 when playing through the problematic portion of the mission, and then returning to your chosen 1:1 square resolution when done.

Q9: I'm using 1920x1080 resolution in VR and...

A9: Whoa, stop right there! NEVER use 16:9 resolutions with this mod in VR, because if you do 44% of the pixels your GPU renders will go to waste and never be visible in the headset. You only want to select from the 1:1 resolutions. 1920x1080 is there just in case you should need to play some mission flat.

Q10: The mod doesn't work with my HP Reverb G2: I switched the VR renderer to OpenXR and when I click the Start VR button I get the WMR animation, but then it goes straight back to the WMR home.

A10: Check if you have OpenXR Toolkit installed. Patron David Gauvreau discovered that it's not compatible with my mod.

Q11: The square cursor that appears when I "use" the in-game terminals is stuck at the right of the screen and cannot be moved, so the terminals are not usable.

A11: Should be fixed and working correctly in release 3.0.4 (and later) attached to the announcement post.

Q12: The HUD stops being headlocked in some situations, like when scanning enemies, so the crosshair won't follow my gaze and I'm unable to aim.

A12: Should be fixed and working correctly in release 3.0.4 (and later) attached to the announcement post.

Q13: When shooting from a vehicle, the gun doesn't follow my gaze (although the crosshair does, and the bullets go where they are supposed to).

Status: Open.

A13: I will start working on fixing this as soon as the other, more pressing issues are dealt with. There is an easy workaround in the meantime: just use the mouse or right thumbstick to rotate the gun where you want it. It will be done automatically by the mod, like when you're on foot, in a future release!

Q14: The HUD doesn't follow my gaze when I turn my head, unless I'm in combat or scanning.

Status: That is by design.

A14: Since current headsets don't have good clarity except in the center, it would be impossible to focus your gaze and read information from the periphery of the HUD if it was constantly headlocked. That said, I will try to come up with a way to do something in the middle, like have the HUD follow you only if you turn your head by more than a selectable angle, similarly to what I did with RDR2.

Q15: My keyboard doesn't have the Pause/Break key, and I don't own a gamepad (or it doesn't work). Am I screwed? Must I use complicated third-party key remappers?

A15: No, it's much easier than that! While the game's not running, you can just edit the RealVR.ini file with Notepad and find the [INPUT] section: in the line
KeyOverlay=19,0,0,0
change 19 to the virtual key code for the key you want to use. Virtual key codes can be found here: https://cherrytree.at/misc/vk.htm

Q16: There is a slight shimmer around nearby objects/NPCs: if I close one eye I can see it's on one side only, and it switches sides if I close the other eye. It gets worse if I lower the resolution or activate DLSS, and it disappears if I select Mono rendering.

A16:The problem is that Cyberpunk 2077 has compulsory TAA, and it doesn't understand stereo rendering, so the prediction for the occluded pixels is wrong. I might be able to fix it in future releases (although it's a LOT of work so we might want to weigh that against alternative uses of time). However, patron Billy Brackeen Jr.  discovered that having Film Grain turned on in the game graphics options makes the shimmering much worse, so be sure to leave Film Grain off as automatically set by RealConfig!!! Also, patron Solomon Ginsberg found out that the shimmering is reduced if you replace the game-supplied nvngx_dlss.dll, which mysteriously has not been updated and dates back to November 2021, with the latest version available from https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/ which should also offer better visual quality in general.

Q17: Every time I open and close the inventory, the game HUD starts flickering and it doesn't stop until I reload the level.

A17: Patron Rich Helstrip reported that the issue was solved for him by updating to the latest NVIDIA drivers.

Q18: When I run the mod from Virtual Desktop something doesn't feel right. Tracking is jerky, or the eye images appear to be out of sync.

A18: Check that you're actually running the latest version of Virtual Desktop. It should be at least 1.20.30, both for the streamer and the mobile app. It usually updates automatically, but if you're on an older version please go to vrdesktop.net to download the latest version!

Crashing on start up. Ran fine yestwrday in 4K on Pathtracing. I have a 4090, 16 GB Ram and amd 5800x on Win 10. HMD is Varjo Aero. Any hints? The Steam Cinema Mode opens when i start the game. Afterwards vrash to desktop.

Alexander Hannemann

I'm using a Quest 2, and getting intermittent intense white flashes from the right edge of the right eye. It only happens within Cyberpunk 2077, and the game looks great in VR otherwise. I have the GOG version with an RTX 4070. I would appreciate any suggestions!

Patrick R

I am experiencing the tool tip bug (Q8 in the above list) since the last CDPR update. I'm running v10.0.4 of your mod. Any suggestions?

Eric

Me too. Can't get it working in VR.

dan crawford

Hi, just saw this as I was having the same issue. So if I'm interpreting things correctly, we use the VR headset to get the immersion n such, but we still use a keyboard and mouse to play the game?

Jim

Hi! I've installed the mod, and the Photo Mode started producing empty files (0b in length). I've renamed the DLL as you indicate, but issue persists. Is there a way to fully completely uninstall the mod, or are there any other tips? Thanks muchly! :)

Nikola Novak

Hi, I'm pretty sure I followed the installation instructions, but I am only getting the game to start up on a flatscreen. WMR samsung odyssey. ???

david findley

Sorry for not seeing this Szymon, could you please ask in a newer post? I don't scroll back this far often. Its best to ask questions in the Start Here post where they are easily seen. We can try and figure things out from there :) Unless you already have.

Brandon(Post Maester)

I'm using a HP G2, and I'm having a weird issue, where when in game, even when I tweak the settings to have 90fps in game, the latency is still astronomical (50 to 150 ms) So if I sit still, everything moves smoothly around me ,but as soon as I try to move my head, everything is delayed and swimmy.

Szymon Buhajczuk

Are you using the latest version? 9.2? Also make sure your GPU drivers are up to date. You are just launching the game from your steam library right? You could put a copy of your RealVR64.log file on pastebin and then post the link here. I will take a look.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Hi Brandon, thanks for the reply, I still can't start the game after installing the VR mod, I followed the https://www.patreon.com/posts/cyberpunk-2077-r-63074041, and in this post, I didn't find a similar issue, need help to solve this.

Marvin Wang

Hi Marvin, sorry I missed this. Are you still having this issue? Please repost in one of the more recent posts if so as I don't usually check this far back for questions. Thanks :)

Brandon(Post Maester)

When I unzip and install the updated VR mod 8_3_0, then can't start the game -- could only reach REDlauncher, after clicking start game then no response, anyone knows the reason? any help could be appreciated.

Marvin Wang

If anybody knows a fix, please let me know! Thanks!

Philip G. M.

Hi, thanks for the mod. How do I remap/delete the controller keybinding for the overlay ? Thanks

Philip G. M.

I cant access VR with VD too via Pico4, could you tell me what did you do?

las3letters

Unfortunately Pico's implementation of OpenXR has an issue that makes alternate eye rendering jitter. Guy Godin has already reported it, let's hope that Pico's engineers can fix it soon

LukeRoss

oh I solved it.But when I turn my head, it shakes frequently

一帆 张

Hello, I can't access VR with VD.i use the vd on pico4 to start the game.when I don't use VD, mod works normally

一帆 张

Actually started working just fine last night, did end up crashing after I kept messing with the resolution a couple times in a row. But was running fine for about 30minutes until then

Nic

Are you using the default settings that are selected by RealConfig? They should be fine for a 3060... How many fps are you getting according to the mod overlay?

LukeRoss

is there something i can change so that it runs off of my 3060 and it not run super slow?

Nic

tried that and it worked however it is too laggy to play, very nauseous.

Nic

Sorry about that! The error means that the application is missing a needed .dll. Did you follow the instructions in the "Start here" post? What did you do to uninstall?

LukeRoss

That's odd. Everything appears to be in order in your log... until suddenly the game crashes. The only idea that comes to mind right now is, since you're using a laptop with a 3060, perhaps the game is trying to start VR on the integrated GPU (which isn't going to work)? Could you try disabling the iGPU temporarily to see whether that changes anything?

LukeRoss

How do i fix my game ever since i uninstalled i keep getting an error 0xc0000142 what the hell man

PedalPen

updated it, should now have the correct crash log i think https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1bScjBzdgULDrrIm4IlpVVCD7LAey0M_8?usp=sharing

Nic

Will get back to you with that, appreciate the effort

Nic

Hi Nic, that's not a link to a folder but to the CrashReporter.log file that doesn't tell me anything useful. Can you upload the contents of your RealVR64.log file?

LukeRoss

Game keeps crashing on startup, works just fine normally but not with the vr mod installed. All drivers have been updated, I have the correct cable, i have tried running as administrator, cannot seem to fix the problem. I tried looking up "%LocalAppData%\REDEngine\ReportQueue" but only found "%LocalAppData%\REDEngine\CrashReporter" It has my most recent crash logs which are on this drive folder https://drive.google.com/file/d/18cD1XrX9-behNPTRmIOooY422mxlyo1Z/view?usp=sharing if you are able to help that would be amazing

Nic

Also, it's best to update to 8.2.0 for the latest fixes and improvements

LukeRoss

Hi Sammy, that behavior is by design according to what most players expect! But you can customize everything: see the full explanation here https://www.patreon.com/posts/63384985 and the index of all CP2077-related posts here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/73295810

LukeRoss

Hey Luke, I think I found another issue in VR. So the zooming does not seem to work with pistols. So I did some test and found out it is only seems to be an issue with short range scopes. You will find the screenshots of the tests here https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1j6zik1ob59MFbFraaBH_PrH-bxWChxQw. # Config Windows 10 Cyberpunk 1.6 REAL VR 7.3.0 3090 ti # Testing in 2D / Flat CP2077 - Flat Pistol 01 Normal.jpg [OK] CP2077 - Flat Pistol 02 Scope.jpg [OK: the short scope zooms on pistol] CP2077 - Flat Rifle 01 Normal.jpg [OK] CP2077 - Flat Rifle 02 Scope.jpg [OK: the long scope zooms on rifle] # Testing in VR CP2077 - VR Pistol 01 Normal.png [OK] CP2077 - VR Pistol 02 Scope.png [ISSUE: the short scope on pistol does not zoom] CP2077 - VR Rifle 01 Normal.png [OK] CP2077 - VR Rifle 02 Scope.png [OK: the long scope zooms on rifle] CP2077 - VR Rifle 03 Scope bug.png [ISSUE: The short scope on rifle does not zoom Any chance you could try to take a look at it?

Sammy Barras

With a 3060 I'd actually strongly recommend leaving all the settings to the defaults chosen by RealConfig. The video you linked may in fact no longer be 100% accurate (despite its author being very competent) simply because it was made before the 1.6 major update to the game. I will soon make another post specific to CP2077 where to discuss optimization and performance-related mods.

LukeRoss

GeForce 3600 RTX (12 GB) 3600X Ryzen 16 GB RAM Maybe you are right. I tried to make some changes to increase quality of image. My Oculus Quest 2 resolution is 1920 x 1832, so i set 1920x1920 in game settings. But when i open VR Overlay i see (Rendering 13.1 pixels per degree. VR resolution 1920x1920 (render 1114x1114). https://i.imgur.com/R0PMZTQ.png In your QA in this topic (Q2:A2) you showed how to find resolution for our videocard. I made some calculations and got 2174. So i should increase my Pixels per degree until my VR Resolution became ~2174? Or should i increase render? i increased my ppd (pixels per degree) to 14.7 to get 2160x2000 for current example. https://i.imgur.com/6lhNcdv.png But before my crashes happened i made it ~16 ppd and it start looks better (or it's just feelings). Crash happened after 16.5-17+ ppd. Also i tried to increase video quality with this 2 mods - Config Overhaul mod and Heavily Customized Optimization mod. I used this video as a guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OA_WBD3X_Jc . I don't know is this is actual or some changes in your mode includes some mode settings now and they now are useless. My goal is make some Medium settings graphic with ~60-65 fps. Just need to find some resolution-graphic settings balance. Should i stay at 1920x1920 and start change settings? or increase render quality? Not sure is it matters or not.

Artem

You're probably running out of VRAM. How much do you have on your GPU? The mod saves all settings automatically to RealVR.ini. If you want to preserve them for one game, just backup that file. But the settings for various games are different, so the file cannot be copied over across games.

LukeRoss

Hey, ty for mod. I met crashes when i opened the map or inventory (added some detailes in previous Rehxy's comment). I tried to play without opening map or character screen but suddenly i got crash during the walking in the city. Now i can't even load my previous saves, game crashes on 30-40% of loading. I made a quick clean install by this guide (https://i.imgur.com/ETshb1n.png) and my saves works well without any mods. After this i installed REAL_mod_by_LukeRoss_v8_2_0 and crashes still appear. After i renamed dxgi.dll to dxgi_bak.dll it became ok. No mods are using now, only your VR. Here are 2 last save files with crash while loading https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Bx7IZ63hRr01AtE7--bDiHgtT_D86gP9/view?usp=sharing UPD: i turned off my Oculus Quest 2, renamed dxgi_bak.dll back to dxgi.dll, launched CP2077 to check other saves. All saves (includes 2 i sent you in link) launched well. Now i tried again with Oculus Quest 2 and its working now. At least i am in city now. Very weird. P.S. Can i somehow save my settings in VR overlay (some config file?)? I spent some time to find my comfortable numbers for HUD, weapons sliders etc. Don't wanna do it again after each game and VR mod reinstall

Artem

i am also meet crash after i am opening the map. Some researches led me to reddit links. https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/xt5cds/comment/iqo20wz/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/xb6tc0/reshade_makes_the_game_crash_unistall_it_until/ It seems ReShade 5.4.2 caused it (don't know which version i am using now). But i downloaded and installed your last mod on fresh game without any mods (REAL_mod_by_LukeRoss_v8_2_0). When i am trying to install 5.4.1 it tells me "dxgi.dll aready exists, but does not belong to ReShade. Please make sure this is not a system file required be the game". If i delete this file to install this version i am breaking the VR game.

Artem

Thank you for your support, and it makes me very happy to hear that you guys are having a good time in Cyberpunk VR!! Crashes in the menus used to occur after the 1.6 patch to the game but should now be completely resolved. Are you on the latest release of my mod?

LukeRoss

As for the motion controllers, I have chosen not to implement them in my mods; my reasoning is explained here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/52202067 and also here in more detail: https://www.patreon.com/posts/65366526. The recommended way to play the mods is with a traditional gamepad (Xbox or PS5 for example work very well)

LukeRoss

Hi Dronix, thank you for your kind words and sorry for the slow reply! I'm not sure if what you're describing is the normal pixelated halo that occurs around near objects and NPCs due to the game's TAA not understanding stereo, or if it might be caused by the video encoder. Can you see the problem in the desktop window, or is it only visibile in the headset?

LukeRoss

Hi Luke! This mod has sapped away days of my life now and I've been fully immersed in the Cyberpunk story. I can't thank you enough for your hard work. I'm working on trying to find a fix for a small problem I'm having. I can consistently crash the game by opening my map and then my backpack or wardrobe. Idk what's going on but if you have any ideas what might help I'd greatly appreciate it!!

Obscura

Hi, First of all, thank you for your excellent work :) I have 2 problems: 1)I get a massive hit to my eyes while walking in the streets and looking at some reflective things, it all starts looking very weird. only if I stop walking and move my head very slowly it's somehow okay.. but I can't walk for more than 30 seconds without getting a headache. all settings as default. no lags. (quest 2) using a 2080 Super RTX 2)how can I use the controllers instead my keyboard and mouse?

Dronix

That is very weird. I suspect it might be another manifestation of the v-sync bug in recent NVIDIA drivers. What GPU are you using? Does your monitor have G-Sync?

LukeRoss

Hi Luke, I don't know if other people have experienced the same behavior, but I have found an easy to boost my FPS by about 50%. By default the game launches as windowed borderless on my main monitor [1]. In this mode, the performance are about 40 FPS at 3400 x 3400 [2]. But if switch to another Windows virtual desktop that does not display the game windows, the performance immediately increases to 60 FPS [3]. I have been experiencing improvements between 30 to 50% consistently at different resolutions which is absolutely awesome. There is only one issue, when I switch to another virtual desktop the mouse cursor named REAL VR pop up in the middle of the screen as shown in screenshot [3]. Is there a way to hide it to enjoy the best of both worlds? [1] https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_fvJgfa3t2EihHamKgZDjm3bknK8CsQJ/view [2] https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Au7s4c7NoHLMeIVUH8prbZKXdL5ga-dd/view [3] https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eHfRWae5u6kWKCx5tCFS1X4kyBSXxF1K/view

Sammy Barras

Yes, reflective/metallic surfaces are the worst case scenario for TAA in stereo

LukeRoss

That did improve things a fair bit, still got some of that pixelated aura, and metal surfaces, or reflective ones are still shimmering back and forth. I'll play around with it some more. THanks for the tip!

Dave Hoyt

You should not be using medium settings. Just leave the settings to the default values chosen by RealConfig (mostly low but with high quality textures) and only increase resolution, possibly with the help of DLSS. That's the best configuration for CP2077 in VR

LukeRoss

In the first page of the mod overlay (Pause/Break on the keyboard to bring it up)

LukeRoss

Where is the "Stop VR" button?

Ben Wang

tl;dr objects (especially in motion) are very pixelated getting worse at farther distances I just downloaded the mod and I'm SUPER excited to get it working right. Seemed to install ok, game starts fine, everything crystal clear in menus and such. But the gameplay itself looks very pixelated. Especially noticeable in "auras" of pixelation around moving NPCs. Object textures go to what I would call very low quality but less pixelated as I approach. I've got it on medium graphical presets at 2432x2432 getting about 70 fps according to the overlay. Seems to be as high as I can go and not have bad FPS. I've turned off motion blur and film grain, doesn't seem to make a difference. I am running on this hardware. Valve Index SSD i7-10700k (3.8 ghz) GEForce RTX 3070 16 gigs ram Any help appreciated. Thank you

Dave Hoyt

Maybe you accidentally turned on Motion Blur? It's not compatible with VR

LukeRoss

Sorry for the delay. I had a project deadline yesterday. So I replaced my Valve Index headset with my HTC Vive, but it looks like SteamVR did not recognize it. After looking it up, it seems that the HTC Vive headset is not compatible with the Valve Index lighthouses (it works the other way around). Since it would take me between one to two hours to reinstall everything and then put it back, I am not going to do the test. I don't remember seeing the shimmering on the HTC Vive. It is also possible that the overall quality of the HTC Vive was such that I ignored it. If you or other people are interested to know what the differences are between the HTC Vive and Valve Index, here is my breakdown: # Improvements - The quality looks immediately much better. The world seems crisper and more beautiful. - The resolution is much better. In the HTC Vive, reading shards and text in the menu was a little laborious and uncomfortable. With the Valve Index, the text is crisp, and reading is not a problem. - The HTC Vive has a screendoor effect where you can see the pixel grid pattern. The screendoor effect is completely gone in the Valve Index. - In the HTC Vive, the field of view is set so that you can see the surroundings of the headset border. It is gone in the Valve Index, and the field of view extends to the limit of what eyes can see. It is almost like seeing the VR world through a ski mask. - On a more practical side, the Valve Index is much more comfortable to wear, especially for more extended periods of time. The contact of the foam around the face is pleasant and not distracting. - The headphones do not touch the ears, so the headset does a good job immersing the player in the sounds of VR without noticing you are wearing headphones. # Caveats - I have only noticed the shimmering effect since the switch from HTC Vive to Valve Index. - I noticed having more issues seeing double, especially on objects close to my field of view.

Sammy Barras

Sorry, I'm still having the same problem with the new update. Ran realconfig, got the notification when 2077 started that I have the newest mod version installed. Also in addition to the double vision, I can't look up or down. Here's the contents of my RealVR.ini: https://pastebin.com/0YNVqtY1 EDIT: Scratch that, loaded it up again and it's working fine, great job! EDIT 2: Sorry again lol, I tried to change my graphics settings back to high and got the same problem over again, changing the settings back to low didn't fix the issue.

Flavio Benson

Yes, I'm curious to hear what you think. I personally always find that LCDs tends to exacerbate any defects in the image, while OLEDs and good old plasma TVs make everything look better.

LukeRoss

Thank you for the prompt answer! I have tried the running the game at 3000x3000, 3400x3400, and 3900x3900. The shimmering effect is still there but less severe at higher resolutions. I still have my HTC Vive and try to test it tonight to see if there is a difference with the Index.

Sammy Barras

Hi Sammy! The shimmering around close objects and NPCs is due to TAA, as it doesn't work correctly with stereo. The best way of making it less annoying is by increasing the game resolution as much as your card can take. Do you still have your HTC Vive?

LukeRoss

Hi Luke, The mod runs greats on my system. But since I upgraded my system (1080ti to 3090ti, HTC Vive to Valve Index), I have been noticing a strange halo effect surrounding objects. It could be a somewhat similar to the shimmer effect in Q16 or something else. # Description The issue is a pixelated halo effect surrounding objects for a few inches. The effect can be observed on both eyes. The effect can be seen on the right side of the pole on the right eye of this video [1]. Here is a screenshot of the same perspective showing it even more clearly [2]. I noticed that the effect seems to happen on the same regions flipping from left eye to right eye on the main windows of the game displayed on the monitor [3]. I don't know if it is related. But since the upgrade and noticing this issue, I am also seeing a lot of aliasing. Let me know if you need more information. # Configuration GPU: NVIDIA 3090 ti CPU: Intel i7-8700 @3.70GHz RAM: G.SKILL TridentZ 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 3200 VR: Valve Index OS: Windows 10 (21H2) SteamVR: 1.23.7 Cyberpunk: 1.6 (Gog edition) RealMod: 7.3.0 Resolution: 2700x2700 # Links [1] https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ScbOJomg0CjqaSAJgQTABKQk6zyGxIJ8/view [2] https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wentzsKotvJ17qxuh0ojRFQV-I0_frec/view [3] https://drive.google.com/file/d/15CerEThAZi5h8TDtsNBYBaO8KaAThwav/view

Sammy Barras

It's out now, hope it fixes your issues

LukeRoss

Is there anything I can do to fix this in the meantime?

Flavio Benson

Thank you for the report! I should have a maintenance release out soon

LukeRoss

I'm getting a weird crash every time I start a new game. I finish making my character and before I can quite reach the load screen, I crash to desktop with an AMD notification informing me of a driver timeout. Loaded a previous save with no issues, disabled VR (planning to just star the new game THEN switch into VR), and changed the resolution back to 1920x1080. This caused a strange, jittery, double vision effect in pancake mode. specs: GPU: Radeon RX 580 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core Processor, 3400 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s) Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H-CF BIOS Version: American Megatrends Inc. That's normal! I have chosen not to do motion controllers; my reasoning is explained here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/52202067 and also here in more detail: https://www.patreon.com/posts/65366526

LukeRoss

Yessir, it's a Radeon RX 580 series.

Moiraine Damodred

Cyberpunk runs great in VR on my setup, but I can't get the game to register the VR joysticks. They register in the oculus app but disappear when I start cyberpunk.

Sean Tipton

No, I meant the version of my mod! The latest one (with the fixes for CP2077) is 7.2.0. I suspect that there might be an issue with AMD cards, although it's not easy to reproduce because other users with AMD GPUs can get CP2077 into VR without problems. Let me know if 7.2.0 changes anything, and in case it doesn't please paste the new log

LukeRoss

It is an AMD, it's a Radeon RX 580 I'm sorry if I sound dumb but what specifically is still on 7.1.0, are you referring to my Windows OS?

Flavio Benson

Are you using an AMD GPU, Moiraine?

LukeRoss

Also Flavio, do you have an AMD GPU perhaps?

LukeRoss

You're still on 7.1.0, please update to 7.2.0, run RealConfig and try again!

LukeRoss

I do have the .log file, here it is: https://pastebin.com/6CuvwuEa

Moiraine Damodred

I did remember to uncheck that. I do have a RealVR64.log. Here's a pastebin with the contents: https://pastebin.com/WpkMQWWN

Flavio Benson

No, the update works fine here. It's something else. Did you remember to uncheck "Use Desktop Game Theatre while SteamVR is active" in the Steam property page for the game? Do you get a RealVR64.log file in the executable folder? The recommended way to launch the game is from Steam or the desktop shortcut, as if you were playing flat.

LukeRoss

Do you get a RealVR64.log file in the game folder? If you do, please paste its contents on pastebin.com and put the link here so I can check it for errors

LukeRoss

I did. I initially had a problem where I accidentally extracted the zip file to the Cyberpunk 2077 directory. I then extracted it where the .exe file is per your instructions, cyberpunk 2077/bin/x64 and ran realconfig. This produced the problems I initially reported. I've just now deleted the extracted files from both directories and reinstalled your mod in the right place this time, running realconfig again of course which seemed to run without any hiccups. Still, no VR and the .ini file still reads simply [RVR]. Also I should've mentioned I've been starting it through virtual desktop, wasn't sure if I could simply launch it through SteamVR or not. Is it possible the recent update is causing any of these issues? Thanks for the quick reply!

Flavio Benson

Yes, the galaxy overlay is off.

Moiraine Damodred

Have you tried disabling the Galaxy overlay?

LukeRoss

See my reply to your DM

LukeRoss

If the RealVR.ini file only contains that line, the mod is not even attaching. Did you remember to run RealConfig?

LukeRoss

To record both images you'll need an Oculus/Meta headset like the CV1 or the Quest 2. If you have that, you can enable the mod's built-in OBS virtual source in SBS mode, see my guide at patreon.com/posts/60054014 (scroll down to "Additional notes for YouTubers and streamers")

LukeRoss

Having an issue with this. When I run the game on my Rift S it just opens in a flat screen on my virtual desktop. I read through all the comments and it looks like a few people had similar issues, however, in their case it was caused because their realconfig.bat didn't run correctly, and once they resolved that it worked. But in my cause realconfig.bat DID run correctly, It gave no errors, it says "successfully processed 96 files, failed processing 0 files" and seems to be completing correctly as the final message says "all done!" before telling me to press any key to continue. Game is running fine, I just can't get it into "VR" mode instead of on a screen in the middle of my headset's view. This happens whether I run it directly from the .exe or from the GOG Galaxy app. I also tried manually adding Cyberpunk to my Oculus library, running it from there causes the game to just run on my normal monitor, it doesn't show up in the headset at all. So I'm not sure what else I need to try here.

Moiraine Damodred

Does Cyberpunk VR mod have immersive screen mode? when vorpx had it I got the best performance from my PC using VR with it.

Nick

I'm having some trouble, I can only play the game flat on desktop, haven't figured out how to enable "true" vr. No headtracking. I couldn't get the overlay to pop up so I went to see if I could change the input in the RealVR.ini file. For some reason, the file, when viewed through notepad, shows ONLY the text, "[RVR]" and nothing else. Using an old Vive headset. specs: GPU: Radeon RX 580 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core Processor, 3400 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s) Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H-CF BIOS Version: American Megatrends Inc. How do I record my playthoughs? I would like to record VR180 with left/right eye as you do in your videos

Sebastián Diéguez

Hey Marius, welcome! I have chosen not to do motion controllers; my reasoning is explained here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/52202067 and also here in more detail: https://www.patreon.com/posts/65366526

LukeRoss

Cyberpunk works fine but my reverb2 controllers does not work?

Marius

Ha! Thanks for the info. We've solved this game of Clue. It was LukeRoss in the library with the number pad. ;)

Byshop303

Haha, no need to track them down: I am the source of the phantom keys! ASW doesn't work correctly with my mods, and lots of people were forgetting to disable it and getting horrible juddering. Also, especially in recent versions of the Oculus runtime, it developed a suspicious tendency to just ignore the user settings and turn itself on constantly. So, since Oculus/Facebook/Meta expose no way of controlling it programmatically, I am forced to periodically simulate a Ctrl+NUMPAD1 keyboard input to turn it off. I only send the combo if I detect that ASW is available, so your system might be one of those where it constantly turns itself back on for some mysterious reason.

LukeRoss

That seems to have worked as a workaround. The issue does seem to be related to phantom keystrokes. If I go to map controls and I let the game sit without pressing anything it registers Numpad 1 after a number of seconds (my keyboard doesn't have a Numeric Pad). I'll try to track down the source of the phantom keys. Thanks again!

Byshop303

Thanks for the reply, I'll give that a shot. OpenXR looks great but it would be nice to be able to do some game capture with the OBS source you added. Too bad the OpenXR API lacks mirroring.

Byshop303

Another thing you might try is remapping the crouch key to anything other than Ctrl. It seems to be a weird issue that only affects a few people

LukeRoss

Love the mod and have been using it for months but encountering a weird issue. Had to switch to playing on my Quest 2 via official link cable and for some reason when I'm using the Oculus renderer I cannot stay crouched. If I hit crouch, within 10 seconds V will stand back up regardless of what I'm doing in the game (moving, holding still, etc). Happens with controller or KB/mouse (unplugging the controller), toggle crouch or hold, and only when I'm using the Oculus renderer so I didn't encounter this on my other HMD. If I switch the Q2 to use SteamVR instead it stops happening, but I take a hit to visual quality and frame rate. I'm at a loss as to why it's happening. Edit: The OpenXR renderer works fine without the visual quality hit so I've switched to that. I just have to remember to switch the default OpenXR back to my other HMDs when I'm using them.

Byshop303

I wonder whether it might be a VRAM issue. Have you tried closing all other applications before running the game (especially memory-hungry beasts like Chrome) and/or reducing the crowd density to alleviate the VRAM pressure?

LukeRoss

I tried completely removing the game and all mods and redownloading from Steam fresh, but the issue still persists. For now I've lowered my game resolution down to 21xx resolution which seem to give me stable gameplay for a couple of hours before the issues start happening. Not the best solution, but if I figure out what's causing it I'll post again. (side note, when the screen ghosting issue happens, I noticed that if I alt-tab to my desktop, the ghosting in my headset goes away, but downside is it tanks my FPS from that point forward. weird right?)

Alex Leung

So strange. Nobody else has reported a similar issue, unfortunately I have no idea how to help you at the moment :-(

LukeRoss

Hey Luke, I've tried both cable and oculus air link, neither made any difference. It seems my game hates transitioning from full VR to a 2D screen like inventory screen or reading shards. And it also seem to be accumilative, as the longer I play the more likely it'll happen. I should also note that I can play longer before it happens on 2160x2160, but if i switch to 2432x2432 it'll happen much sooner

Alex Leung

Hi Alex, that looks really weird! Have you tried using the Link cable or Air Link instead of Virtual Desktop? Does that change anything?

LukeRoss

Hey I really love your VR mod for Cyberpunk. But I'm having an annoying issue that's similar to the invetory flickering thing that isn't fixed by updating my GeForce driver. (Please excute the Youtube shorts, it automatically does it when clip is less than a minute) https://youtube.com/shorts/WWVwmUmQbT4?feature=share and https://youtube.com/shorts/yPjpH0eRy0s?feature=share Basically, my usual framerate stays at ~40fps (low for 3070Ti at 2160x2160, but that's a seperate issue) But often when I open inventory, or even reading a text, the FPS tanks to ~8, then this weird ghosting happens for the entire screen. I can make it go away only by changing DLSS setting a bit to force the screen to reset, but the FPS will remain very low until I completely restart the game. Here are my specs: Intel i7-4790 (I know it's ancient, I'll have to upgrade soon) Asus Sabertooth Z97 mk1 DDR3 24gb ram EVGA RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GeForce driver version 516.59 (latest at this time)

Alex Leung

hey so my cyberpunk 2077 run fine in flat. Install the mod and run Realconfig. everythings good. game launch in vr. ican make changes in HUD. but if i load a savegame the game chrashes as soon the game start

David

Hi Lesley! The batch file should ask for elevation itself, running it as admin might disrupt the automatic path finding. You might try running it from a command prompt instead of clicking on it; that way the window won't close and you'll be able to read any error messages. If that doesn't work please PM me as this thread is very old

LukeRoss

I have the same issue and I do NOT get a log in the executable folder.. the command prompt window opens and it says 'hit any key to continue' I do and all I see is the command prompt window closing. should I run as admin? what steps to do now?

Lesley Foster

For Pimax headsets you will find specific instructions here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/63892259

LukeRoss

I'm having a similar issue as Bruno. Installed fine, ran Realconfig fine. The game loads in a window on my monitor but nothing's being displayed in the headset. It's just dark. Headset is pimax 8kx, i9-11900k, rtx3070, etc... thanks for any assist.

MLyons

Hey Bruno! What are your system specs and headset?

LukeRoss

My game is not opening in VR mode, instead he opens a flat square in the middle of the screen, I`m pretty sure I did all of the steps of the instruction, but couldn`t solve it on my own, this is my first VR, and first of your VR mods too. Any help? Thanks!

Bruno Guimaraes

Tried MOD 4.1.1 and game just crash after loading the save file, it gives you a static picture and then crash https://pastebin.com/t5Mz8MuA , I feel so unlucky as after I joined the membership, I haven't got a game that can play with the VR mod yet... After I rename the dxgi.dll to dxgi.bak, I can play normally.

Eddy

Great, thanks for reporting back with your solution!

LukeRoss

Right, so my issue was in command prompt not working, after fixing cmd, RealConfig opened as it should and now game runs smoothly in VR, thanx :)

Alexander Vysotskiy

Hi Conor, sorry but I don't implement motion controllers in my mods. See https://www.patreon.com/posts/52202067 and https://www.patreon.com/posts/65366526 for more details on my reasoning!

LukeRoss

If RealConfig shuts down without giving you any messages, then something went wrong and the mod won't work correctly. Could you try running RealConfig from a command prompt window, so it won't close right away and you'll be able to see if there are any errors?

LukeRoss

Hi there, I wanted to clarify if there is anyway to use the Steam Index Controllers?

conor collins

Hello, newbie here. Same issue here, game won't load in full VR. Game starts in flat screen but I still able to move ingame camera with headset. RealConfig file shuts down immediately when I open it so I don't know if there is any errors. Tried clean installation few times, same issue appears.

Alexander Vysotskiy

Thanks for the quick reply. That definitely helps. Works every time in the menu. Still wonky in game, but I can't get a consistent fail state. Best guess it is conflicting with the quick melee attack, but it doesn't happen everytime. I'll do more testing, but again, this tip helps a lot. Thank you!

Eric

During gameplay, to avoid accidental activations, the time control will respond only if the stick is pushed all the way up or down. If you want finer control, enter the game menu and the indicator will stay on screen!

LukeRoss

I'm having trouble with the time slow down. Sometimes it works exactly as described, but most often, I hold down on the stick, get the green indicator. It shows 100%. Before I can adjust it, it fades away. Holding down again gets me the same green, 100% indicator that then vanishes. Moving the right stick does not get indicator to stay or adjust. Suggestions? I really enjoy the time stuff when it works. Thanks.

Eric

Hey Arthur, which headset and VR runtime are you using?

LukeRoss

I read all of the instructions and Q and A but nothing seems to work. The mod is installed. The realconfig has completed successfully. But nothing I do can bring this game to VR. I have the game on Steam. I unchecked the box in the game properties for "use desktop game theater" but when I launch the game, nothing but the steam vr home shows up in the headset. I also get a warning from Steam that the game doesn't support VR. RDR2 works great. My only issue is CyberPunk.

Arthur Morgan

The constant shimmering TAA is my only complaint so far! Totally playable & enjoyable. I will try this config setting as well.

Jeff

Haha, that's a tough conversation to have :-) I don't know why Task Manager fails so miserably with my mods, as all GPU usage happens in-process, but it does

LukeRoss

Thanks for the note! I was definitely using Task Manager. Loaded up gpu-z after seeing your comment and its showing 99% GPU utilization when taskman shows 30. So that's good and expected. Will work on reducing some settings tonight and see if I can maybe play at 2432x2432. Maybe start a convo with the wife about a GPU upgrade.

Timmaye

Hi! When you say that your GPU usage is at 30%, are you using Task Manager to measure it?

LukeRoss

Having a great time playing CP2077. i9 9900K + 3060Ti, getting these stats out-front of V's building: 2736x2736 - 42fps / 135ms 2432x2432 - 46fps / 125ms 2160x2160 - 60fps / 100ms - video memory is maxing out on the 3060Ti, thinking of trying my slower 12GB 3060 to see if memory is a bottleneck. - when I trigger the NCPD response, my i9 hits 99%, with 3060Ti at 30% (mem at max utilization) - I really want to play at 2736x2736 60fps, so looking for all software tweaks before looking at new hardware

Timmaye

Perfect, thank you so much! The mod is amazing and I appreciate the quick help!

Ryan Moore

If you want to play flat for more than a few minutes, the easiest way is to rename dxgi.dll to dxgi.bak. That will prevent the mod from attaching without disturbing anything else. Then do the reverse to play in VR again

LukeRoss

No other mods are installed, and in VR your mod works perfectly. It’s only when the headset is off that the overlay shows up no matter what. Is there a way to disable that when I want to play outside of VR? Or what is the proper way to uninstall the mod. I tried to delete the files and folders of the mod and it caused the game to not open up, which resulted in me having to uninstall the game completely and reinstall it before being able to play it again.

Ryan Moore

The double trigger gesture should never activate unless the game is paused in the menus. Are you using other mods that might be conflicting? Do you see the world properly in 3D, or does it appear like on a virtual 2D screen floating in front of you?

LukeRoss

The mod runs great, but unfortunately, the overlay always comes up when playing and aiming down sights and shooting (Left+Right triggers). I read it's only supposed to do it in the pause menu, but that isn't the case for me. Is there something else I need to enable or change in the overlay menus? I haven't touched them. Just installed the mod and played for a bit.

Ryan Moore

Does RealConfig report any errors when you run it? Do you get a RealVR64.log file in the game executable folder?

LukeRoss

Hello! I have followed the installation steps (running the .bat etc) but the game launches on my desktop not in VR. I have oculus link enabled, steam version of CP2077. What am I doing wrong?

Bargau Bogdan

Thanks for the clarification!

J

Yes J, that's correct! That's a perceptual effect of alternate eye rendering. It's an illusion that the brain creates because the headset flashes the same image two or three times, depending on the ratio between game frame rate and headset refresh. It's impossible to capture on video (even shooting through the headset lenses) but it looks real; we usually call it image doubling. It's not ghosting in the sense of 3D monitors: it's got nothing to do with the left image bleeding through the right lens or vice versa. Most people learn to unsee it after a few minutes or hours of gameplay (the brain compensates for the effect). A few people are sensitive to it though and never get to the point where they can tolerate it, in which case I recommend switching to mono rendering (of course that implies losing stereoscopic 3D) or, when possible like with the Valve Index or the Quest 2, increasing the refresh frequency of the headset, which makes the doubling look more like a motion blur that people usually find less objectionable.

LukeRoss

Great work bringing VR to popular flat titles! Would just like to check I'm seeing what everyone else is, regarding AER implementation -- I have been fortunate to work as a game dev in Asia for many years but only involved in VR titles very sparingly. We have a very competent 3090 rig in the studio and when strafing, at lowest or highest resolution settings, with one or both eyes open, the behaviour is identical, where a double image is projected. Standing still and looking around are beautiful at 72 fps via Quest 2 link cable, while strafing breaks the image into current and ghost images and appears identically looking with a single eye or both eyes. Just checking this is the AER implementation and everyone is seeing the same effect? Thanks.

J

Ah, the marvels of Windows 11 ;-)

LukeRoss

got it fixed by turning off "enhanced audio" in windows 11 settings

anatoliy kireyev

That's usually a symptom of excessive CPU load. What are your system specs?

LukeRoss

I get a form of audio static in game visually works great but audio makes a light crackling noises

anatoliy kireyev

Any Chance we Can Apply the REAL VR Mod to the Witcher 3 or FarCry (Farcry Primal, Farcry 5) Games in the near future??

pyroblaze13

Yup My card really liked that DLSS better. Thanks Luke

Rob Green

Hi Rob, welcome!! 50 fps is the minimum for a good experience. Below half the headset refresh rate, the ride is gonna get rough. With your 2060, for RDR2 I recommend DLSS for the best performance. Run RealConfig again, and select the (O)ptimized preset. Then launch RDR2, enter its graphics settings menu, set DLSS to "Quality" and apply the changes. Bring up the mod overlay with the Pause/Break key on the keyboard, go to the "RDR2" tab and set "Base window size override" to 2700x2700 and "Resolution Scale override" to "No override"; finally click on "Resize window". After the mod applies your settings, if you enter the "RDR2" tab again you'll see two lines near the top that must read: Game fps: xx.x Latency ms: xx VR resolution: 2700x2700 Resolution Scale: Off DLSS: Quality You don't have to repeat these operations every time you play: the mod will remember your settings for the next launches. If all of that is not enough, you can switch to lower presets for DLSS from the game menu ("Balanced" or even "Performance"), or to lower values for "Base window size override" from the overlay.

LukeRoss

Hey Luke and everyone! Nice to meet you. I am playing Red Dead on my rift s with a rtx 2060 . I works pretty well on medium -ish settings . However if i try to bump the TAA to High I get doubled shaky looking graphics . i turned off all TAA sharpening and still get a weird effect . I'm also looking for that magical setting I can change to gain 10 or so FPS . Im getting a good 40 to 55 with dips down to 30 . A few more FPS and i will have it smoooth . Let me know any advice you can help me with. Loving this MOD ! its like a time machine

Rob Green

Absolutely! For the n00bs out there, is there anywhere to go to fond optimal graphics settings in game?

Desmond Hayes

Make sure that your VD is updated to the latest version 1.20.30 (both the streamer and the Quest app)!

LukeRoss

Greetings! Joined yesterday and wondering if there is a general configuration table somewhere? I have 10850k and RTX 3090 but eyes are out of sync on Virtual Desktop and framerate is rough.

Desmond Hayes

Oh I see. That makes me curious, is it technically possible to disable the yellow quest marker? That's the only one that breaks immersion for me yet for some reason CDPR didn't put an option for it! (although a lot of the time you can just switch to a job with no marker)

Zabe

The yellow/red icons over NPCs' heads are drawn by the game in a way that is not compatible with VR, so I disabled them as they're very immersion-breaking anyway and hated by most users. Same goes for the hacking progress icons, although they're less annoying and if I find a way of showing them correctly in the future I might add them back!

LukeRoss

In CP2077 on Oculus I'm not seeing the targeting reticle above enemies, or the eyeball icon when they notice me. I played a while to make sure I wasn't just lacking the right perks or cyberware. (though I'm still not 100% sure) Sometimes the icons randomly come back for a few seconds and then disappear again. Sorry if this isn't the right place to post issues, let me know if you have a github or something.

Zabe

See Q6 for your first issue and Q15 for the second one!

LukeRoss

Secondly I cannot access the VR overlay in game becuase my keyboard does not have the pause/brk key becuase Logitech Craft is too cool for such nonsence. I dont use a controller so I'm screwed becuase all the menus are up in my face and I can't adjust them. Any alternative to access the overlay?

captain_unknown

Loving the mod but have a couple of issues in Cyberpunk. The game itself flatlines if I try to launch from GOG launcher. I can workaround by launching directly from the game folder but wonder if there is a fix for this?

captain_unknown

It's possible that Guy Godin might make it better in future releases. Let him know about the black bars issue!

LukeRoss

I think it's great that you integrated Virtual Desktop. The colors and the picture in general looks better than with Air Link. The colors are noticeably paler. However, when I turn my head, I see black bars. FPS and latency are identical to Air Link. Is there a workaround or should I rather stick with Airlink?

Andi Mountainman

Hi Jesse! Unfortunately the 1080 Ti (despite being a champion in its time) is a bit underpowered for CP2077. The first thing you'll want to dial down is the in-game resolution. Activate "Show FPS" in the mod overlay and see whether by lowering the res you can hit at least 50-60 fps which is the minimum for a fluid view

LukeRoss

Hey I just joined your Patreon a few days ago and love the mod! I have an older graphics card the 1080ti and I'm having an issue with the frame rate. Is there a way to adjust it in settings to have a more fluid transition when looking around? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Jesse C

Usually keeping the old settings is fine, but if you feel that the mod is not behaving as it should it's better to start fresh

LukeRoss

Still confused about the RealConfig.bat ... with each new mod I would want to run it and select D to delete the old config files? At what example would I want to use K to keep my settings?

Shawn Colton

I'm not the author of Virtual Desktop! For VD support please go to vrdesktop.net

LukeRoss

If it's not there yet you can just add it, sure

LukeRoss

Virtual Desktop is not my creation :-D For VD support please go to vrdesktop.net

LukeRoss

Sorry for the second post. I have a second question about virtual desktop and my other VR games launched using this software. It works well for cyberpunk 2077 but my other VR games now only launch as "flat games" the VR is no longer working. Virtual desktop no longer trigger the VR when these VR games are launched

Kevin Evans

Wahou what an amazing work ! Two questions from a newbie in cyberpunk 2077 VR :) I tried the answer from question 15, but in my realVR.ini there is no line for [input]. It should be there or I have to create it ?

Kevin Evans

Virtual desktop looses video connection to the game at random intervals (Anything from 30s to half an hour). The game still seems to be running at this point and controls still work. However VD is not able to reconnect the video (after restart of VD on the Quest 2). Although the game seems to be running it has glitches. E.g. the rate of alternate rendering is slowed down significantly since I can observe shifts from left to right with a frequency of maybe 2 to 3 Hz. Any one experiencing a similar behavior?

Dilbahadur

It solved itself, after I did a reinstall of the game and just applied the last mod version.

Dilbahadur

Yes, let's see if the RealVR64.log file tells us anything... Please paste in on Pastebin.com and put the link here

LukeRoss

None whatsoever. Your mod is the only one. And now the game also crashes in other instances. Always approx. 0.5 seconds after loading in. Can I somehow collect and error log that might help you?

Dilbahadur

In the latest version I increased the default size of the HUD while headlocked. You can customize it with the sliders in the mod overlay!

LukeRoss

Since updating to 3.2.0, I can no longer see my health bar during a fight. She's too high

Andi Mountainman

It might be a conflict with other mods. Do you have any installed?

LukeRoss

Hi, the game flatlines everytime I pull out my weapon. In savegames where my weapon was already out it just flatlines after approx. 1 sec. (Version 3.2.1) Adendum: It does not depend on which weapon. Also, do your Mods support ASW? I have the feeling it has no effect.

Dilbahadur

If you look at your minidumps you might be able to find out which component or driver is causing the hardlocks

LukeRoss

Yes, unfortunately it's without a doubt a hardware issue. You _might_ make it vanish with a full system checkup and/or reinstalling Windows from scratch, but it's a lot of work and it would probably just pop up again

LukeRoss

I'm on a Steam, Reverb G2, 3080ti. Once a while the game freezes and locks my machine (I have to do a hard reboot). It seems a bit random (can play fine for 2 hours), but some areas seem to trigger it more consistently, like in the VR gun training at the beginning (I had to skip it). Anyway, I doubt it's related to the mod. It seems some hardware related unrecoverable error (WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR), but I never got this playing RDR2 in VR on the same machine (or hundreds of hours in MSFS in VR).

FlyingWaffle

where is this filmic tone map you speak of? cant find it in the default reshades or anywhere downloadable on the net, nearest thing is tonemapper but the sliders you mention aren't there

Rich Helstrip

Saree you sure? Didn't seem to make a difference with me

Rich Helstrip

See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzcKPh8UxJ8&t=194s for a visual demo. What headset are you using?

LukeRoss

Thank you for your super awesome work. I played for an hour earlier with until my quest 2 battery died and it was amazing to be in Night City. I'm not really getting the head reset motion however. Is it possible to bind the recentering to maybe pressing down the right joystick or something?

Henry

Just rename dxgi.dll to dxgi.bak and the mod won't attach anymore. The other files can stay there and will cause no conflicts

LukeRoss

In OBS you should add the virtual source as a Game Capture source. Then you might need to reset the source transform to make sure that all the source area is recorded (the source resolution should be set from the mod overlay and not from OBS itself)

LukeRoss

Hi Luke! I tried to capture some of my gameplay using the OBS option you added in your mod. It works, but my game window is cropped on the lower part. I suspect it has to do with the graphic resolution i use in the game (i play in 2430x2430 while my monitor has a resolution of 1920x1080 and my capture window is at a 1920x1080 rez). Is there a way to circumvent this issue in order to have the full gameplay window? thank you by advance for your help

Kaffennheister

Thank you that you no longer have the weapons hanging directly in your face. Very good improvement. However, if I have to turn off targets such as drones on the tower with Panam, it doesn't work at all. The crosshair stays level and I have to guess where I'm aiming. If this could be improved, the game would be perfect from my side!

Andi Mountainman

I see that it isn't necessary to uninstall the mod to play in flat mode, but how do I remove the mod anyways?

Cristhian Bonilla

Thank you very much for the new update. Another issue: Shooting around corners (diagonally) doesn't watch with the gun crosshairs. Shooting upwards from cover is fine, sideways no.

gurufabbes

An issue in All Foods during the Maelstrom mission. Certain parts of the level have these spots where the entire screen goes white and everything around you turns transparent (where you can even see cars far off in the background). Once you leave these spots, things return to normal. There are 2 areas where this happens, one near a camera, the other near a certain character. Savegames here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/ls8aonlj6wocakq/ManualSave-100.rar/file and https://www.mediafire.com/file/0r0ctodd26wyxf3/ManualSave-101.rar/file Thankfully nothing gamebreaking, but quite odd when you have to avoid certain areas.

gurufabbes

It must, I can play at a much higher res with it on than not.

Brandon(Post Maester)

The VRTooklit shader works well for me, especially since it only applies the CAS sharpening in an adjustable radius where you are looking, the performance might be better.

drowhunter

I didn't think DLSS worked when you disabled the TAA.

drowhunter

So, after hours of trying reshades AA options and fidling with all of the sharpening effects with them, I have not been able to get a nice clean image. However, If you use filmic tone map, you can raise the highlights and shadow sliders to make the shimmers less noticeable and also end up with a more realistic looking image I think. So to recap, I used the ini from nexus to remove TAA and bloom, which allowed me to use dlss utlra performance to pump up res and then used filmic tone map and put shadows and highlights around1.5 to 2. Still plan on trying more stuffs, but tell me what you guys think.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Ah thanks guys, every days a school day. Thanks for confirmation 👍

WIG

WIG, you got it backwards :-) AER is alternate eye rendering. Since these huge games already push GPUs to their limits when playing flat, for my VR conversions I render one eye for each frame, instead of both eyes. That halves the performance requirements while still giving a perfect stereo image. For instance, if the headset refreshes at 90 Hz, the game will only need to put out 90 fps (or 45 fps per eye) instead of the 180 fps that normal VR would require. When the game can do slightly more than that, say 100 fps, AER will cap the frame rate to 90 (or whatever the headset refresh frequency is) for a smoother experience. The R.E.A.L. mode removes the frame rate cap, allowing you to play at full frame rate. It's only useful if the game on your system can reach at least 140-150 fps, otherwise it's best to cap and avoid stuttering. If the game can sustain 180 fps on your card, then R.E.A.L. mode is perfectly identical to native VR implementations.

LukeRoss

Hi Luke. Well another 2 hours tonight spent in Night City, all thanks to you. I am trying a new playthrough and just spent probably 20 minutes in an 'acquired' Quadra riding through the night of the locked down opening area. Noticing that the car does not disappear when you go in and out of areas just shows how robust the system actually is.... Anyway, here's another issue. We are back to the terminals again, some of which are pretty hard to read. The worst offender so far are the small laptops, you are either too close where it becomes painful to read them, or out too far where the letters become unfocused. Is there any way to make them more comfortable to read? i.e. increase the focus when you're at a normal distance? Savegame here in front of one of those types of laptops https://www.mediafire.com/file/4o3a6fd7l89g248/ManualSave-90.rar/file

gurufabbes

I don't think it works through Virtual Desktop. Should be fine through Oculus Air link.

Charles Watkins

here is my save with the required knife throwing perk and knives equipped. Thanks for the response!. https://www.mediafire.com/file/md9nkkam7hu25w9/ManualSave-200.rar/file

SHINOBI J3ULLET

Heya! Im a new backer and im trying to get it working with horizon zero dawn and it _is_ working... but ive got very jittery graphics... im running an oculus quest 2 through virtual desktop on a 5ghz connecion with an msi 3070 laptop.... my framerates are up at 90 and everything else seems good just this jittery ghosting....

Dimona UK

I am assuming you already have installed cas and clarity shaders with reshade? You will have to go down into their settings and tinker with them until you get what you want. Mainly turn up CAS strength and I think clarity strength as well. I don't remember at this point, what all I changed. I am hoping Saturday when I am off to try and dedicate some time to figure out best settings and post them. Turn on dlss to whatever setting you want to use before you tinker. They should also have mask views you can select to help you see if your tinkering is actually doing anything :) The nice thing, is that it is easy to reset things and just uninstall the ini that turns off TAA, so easy to get back to the base mod.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Hey Brandon, i tried to setup my game like you suggested but cant get a clear picture. I deactivated TAA but struggle with the CAS and Clarity part, could you explain it a little bit more? I use a 2080TI

Sven Hilbert

You can use DLSS if you turn off the TAA in game. Use CAS and Clarity to really clear things up. It is a much clearer but still will have to deal with aliasing. If you have a 3090 and can use dlss, you should be able to pump up the res pretty high. I have a 3070 and can play at 2900 or 2970 or whatever that one is pretty solid. I can play with dlss at ultra performance this way and still have a much clearer/cleaner image than with taa and no dlss.

Brandon(Post Maester)

This mod is incredible. I cannot imagine experiencing cyberpunk any other way from now on. Thank you for what I have to imagine was a ridiculous amount of work. I agree with others that working on a solution to the shimmering would be well worth the time, but then again, I’m not the one who would be slaving over it. Great work so far, and I can’t wait to see where else you take this mod!

jlyles1

If you want to see a difference you need to increase the frame rate past 120. I dont think thats what r.e.a.l does. Its not full stereo rendering. It just uncaps the refresh rate from 90 and sends frames faster to either eye so the rate that the image gets updated is increased. Probably nearly right there, not 100%

Boat Kettle Cheese

I understand the effort for Q16 might be a lot of work but playing with DLSS is a dramatic difference in quality of frame rates (in fact a necessity for most all cards right now). However this comes at a huge impact to visuals. The shimmer is on just about everything to the point the visuals are really degraded. If you turn all DLSS off and look and compare, it's hard to go back. It looks so much cleaner. I'm not complaining, this mod is amazing, I feel bad even splitting hairs here. Just adding a vote that this would not be trivial use of time. I'm lucky I have a 3090 so I can overpower the issue (60-70fps at Ultra no RT), but even then, running DLSS takes the frames to a solid 90+ which is so much easier on the brain and reduces fatigue and dizziness substantially. Keep up the AMAZING work!! This MOD makes this game a completely amazing experience!

Deofol

That was it! Thanks Luke

Eric Clymer

I tried the r.e.a.l option to see how full stereo would impact but it doesn't seem to be activating on my cyberpunk. I read that some people in comments it halves frame rate as it should but that doesn't seem to happen. Is the full stereo rendering working for cp2077? Anyone tried it just to see the difference to Alternative eye?

WIG

Oh, and thank you for the mod :)

Brandon(Post Maester)

If you remove TAA from the game, you can use dlss and end up with a better picture overall. You will have aliased edges but you will gain so much clarity and unless you are playing at a very high res, you have lots of shimmer probably anyways. I also have had good success using clarity and CAS with reshade after changing their settings and blooming hdr after removing bloom from the game and messing with its settings as well. I wonder if it might be a good idea Luke to find someone that could customize reshade presets for your mods? You could also do it yourself. Just a thought if you are going to do more graphically intense games like this in the future.

Brandon(Post Maester)

No. never that low. The most intensive area I have seen so far in VR is Sakura Market in Japantown (the square with the huge statue) and there the FPS can fall below 30 for me. Rest of the time, it's between 38 (in busy areas) and 59 (in the least busy areas such as the North of the city). Although obviously constant 60 fps would be great, the game is still more than playable so far below this. Reducing the resolution below 1890 x 1890 just makes it so blurry that it feels as though it's not worth playing.

gurufabbes

Timecodes don't seem to work, go to 30:15

LukeRoss

To, like here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHhPtBN3AQA&t=1806s

LukeRoss

do you mean a drop by 10 fps or a drop TO 10 fps?

gurufabbes

The 120hz mode isn't needed in this case though. I run CP2077 in 90hz mode with motion compensation off and it's running very well. Rotation is extra smooth most of the time for me with fps above 60 at all time on 2700x2700. You've done an amazing job as I thought this one would be the mod that had the least chances to perform better than the others, and at least for me it's working much better than RDR2 (where I still have camera rotation issues no matter what I try in terms of settings)

itsmecamille

without dlss the fps fluctuate too much but thanks for the info, not imma gonna sell my 3070 and get a 3090 but thanks alot my friend for the info. Now the next thing is to wait for multiplayer and this game is gonna be 10/10

Angel Maldonado

Some extra info for those looking to replace nvngx_dlss.dll The location where you replace it is here: Steam\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64 Download link as given above is here: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/ Solomon Ginsberg: a groisse dank

gurufabbes

Hi, thanks for the report! I understand that being able to throw knives requires a special perk, could you upload your save file somewhere so I can check it out and hopefully fix the issue?

LukeRoss

I have a 3090, it runs about 70-80fps in ultra no RT no DLSS 2160x2160 (DLSS creates all kinds of noise, but framerates nail 90 with it. I prefer it without). I tried with RT, but frames go way down and it doesn't look any better to me.

Deofol

Does anyone have a RTX 3090 and tell me how well it runs? Does it really benefit having extra VRam? I have RTX 3070 TI

Angel Maldonado

Works so good now.. thank you again!

Michael Hughes

Legend. Congrats on the skill set.

Scorps03

omg thank you so much! You are doing a fantastic job btw!

Michael Hughes

VD is not compatible yet! Use the Link cable or Air Link for now

LukeRoss

yes sir followed all instructions .. Real ran with no errors. I have a Quest 2 using Virtual Desktop.

Michael Hughes

It's set on use application setting and it's not set to on in the game, just using your defaults

Jonathan Tate

Native as far as I know. I suspect it's not the 120hz mode by itself which is the issue but how Vive Console manages retroprojection in that case, and something seems to go wrong with that in a spectacular way. It's a really weird and awful effect though. As I mentioned, I suspect that whatever Vive console does instead of having SteamVR do it, or on the top of it, is interfering with a few things (including smooth rotation in RDR2). I'm aware of at least a couple of mods and games which have specific issues with Vive Pro 2 (and I'm also aware of games like IL2 Great Battles which had initial issues with it and fixed things) - although by that's a small minority of my VR library with issues.

itsmecamille

I really hate this "TAA EVERYWHERE, SUBMIT TO IT" trend with modern games :-(

LukeRoss

Did you follow all the setup instructions? What headset do you have?

LukeRoss

It's really good in mono honestly but yeah it would be nice to be able to use stereo and taa. Can't ask for the world though, you've already done so much great work.

Joseph Wall

Save just before doing that, then quit the game and rename dxgi.dll to *.bak. After that you can continue flat and test whether it's the game's bug or mine!!

LukeRoss

They seem to be broken, yes, I will look into them

LukeRoss

Double check that you don't have vsync forced in the driver!

LukeRoss

I don't think DLSS can be enabled in this game without TAA. I will probably give a stab at fixing TAA properly like I did for RDR2 if the interest keeps up!

LukeRoss

Probably yeah sorry I forgot I had that installed, my mistake for not checking other things first.

Joseph Wall

I guess fio fio was referring to the misalignment, in which case the workaround for the moment is activating parallel projections (a proper fix will come in one of the next releases)

LukeRoss

Hi SockDP! I'm not seeing that here, could you record a brief video?

LukeRoss

I don't have that! Are you referring to the CET mod?

LukeRoss

A fix for that is coming, hopefully in the next few days

LukeRoss

As for the background, it shouldn't be shimmery and pixelated at all (see my video for example). Some shimmering is present only around the borders of nearby objects/NPCs

LukeRoss

The HUD size can be customized from the mod overlay, if that helps!

LukeRoss

Haha, that's super weird!!! I'll try to look into that during the next few days!

LukeRoss

Did you check out Q15?

LukeRoss

VD will only work correctly from its next upcoming release!

LukeRoss

Sniper rifles seem to have problems, I will look into them. The guns-are-too-close problem is already on the operating table :-)

LukeRoss

Thank you gurufabbes, I will look into it!

LukeRoss

Great, who needs sleep? :-D If you have really severe slowdowns (like 10 fps) you might be running out of VRAM.

LukeRoss

It works fine on my G2!

LukeRoss

Eric, have you tried setting the Oculus Virtual Audio device as default in Windows before starting the game?

LukeRoss

For now the workaround is to use parallel projections. In the next few days I should be able to fix it with canted projections too

LukeRoss

Yep, that's the artefact of AER. To get rid of it completely you'd need to run at twice the headset frequency, so each eye could be refreshed at full frame rate (not actually achievable in Cyberpunk 2077 with any existing GPU!) You can make it better by raising the Index refresh frequency to 120 (the ghosting tends to become more regular, like a motion blur) or switching to Mono

LukeRoss

It will only work when Virtual Desktop's new release comes out!

LukeRoss

I will definitely check it out, thank you Lee!!

LukeRoss

Again, please check if you have vsync forced in the driver. That would explain your symptoms

LukeRoss

A true fix for this issue will likely be ready in a few days!

LukeRoss

Despite using the default keyboard mappings, I cannot repro the issue here

LukeRoss

That's peculiar... I don't have a Vive Pro 2 to try. Is the 120 Hz mode upscaled/interpolated or native?

LukeRoss

Yes that's right! (sorry for the super late reply)

LukeRoss

I'm working on the gun issue, hopefully the next release will have a solution!

LukeRoss

Thank you for the savegame, I will look at this in the course of the next few days!

LukeRoss

Sorry guys, I'm only just reading this now (these days have been pure madness)... I'll try to look into the issue the next few days, hopefully a fix I'm working on for the giant-gun problem might fix this too!

LukeRoss

Erm.. that's pretty useful information. Do you think you could please link to it and give directions to how you used it? I would appreciate it.

gurufabbes

I just noticed this one today too. Both in the VR tutorial and opening mission. For a second I thought my controller was malfunctioning.

gurufabbes

I think its better as well, especially if you can play at a higher resolution. I plan on trying some more stuff on my days off this week. I will post if I get a nice setup for those of us who don't have 3080s and 90s. I wish you could set levels of TAA.

Brandon(Post Maester)

Yeah I turned off the TAA based on the post above and I prefer the game that way even with the shimmers and jaggies. I just really hate the vaseline blur that TAA caused over the whole image. I wish I had a gpu strong enough to turn up the resolution because just as a test I set it to one of the 3000 range resolutions and that made the image sharp enough to mostly eliminate the shimmers and jaggies. As it stands I have to use the 1820 setting for smooth game play which means plenty of shimmers but I still couldn't go back to playing with TAA on after seeing how much clearer everything looks with it off

william mumford

You can turn off TAA but then you get a jaggy mess. But things are less blurry overall. I then tried using reshade and inserting other antialiasing as well as enhancing with nvidia settings but could not tone the jaggies down. There are a couple options on nexus for disabling TAA if anyone wants to try and figure out a better antialiasing option so we can get rid of the blurry shimmery edges. Perhaps this would be easier to fix than fixing the TAA?

Brandon(Post Maester)

Hi, amazing work on this!! I however am having a weird issue.. load screen is fine .. when i start playing it looks rough .. like 2 or more screens are mashing together.. its unplayable .. not sure how to get it to work

Michael Hughes

Hi Luke, not sure if is cyberpunk or your mod. But I always get a crash if i scan the Box in Evelyn Parkers Clouds Room. Number 11, after i talked to the other puppet.

No turrets and snipers are no fun and don't work proper. Pistols are amazing however. You are so quick with the lookat it is insane. I do have a problem with the camera sometimes floating of and the HUD connect to it. rebooting helps but would be nice to be able to fix in game.

Mayonnaise3D

Hey people, you can aim with the turret or it's only for me ? For me it's totally broken, imposible to pass the mission with panam in the central, I'll go flat

Cercata

It's still so close it hurts my eye when I try just focusing with my dominant eye.

Ben .Green

Became a little nauseous while playing but man this is so amazing. Had to turn down hardmode since it was hard to shoot but riding a bike through Nightcity like this is so sick.

Mayonnaise3D

My framerate seems to be capped at 60. Is there any way to remove that cap?

Jonathan Tate

I've been able to completely disable TAA and make stereo rendering completely clear in the game by adding [Developer/FeatureToggles] Antialiasing = 0 to general.ini in the cyberpunk engine/config/base folder. Only problem is that this also completely removes the ability to use DLSS as well. You can still use FSR, but it's a terribly shimmery image with or without it, very pixelated, terrible image quality. If you could find a way to disable only TAA but still give us the ability to enable DLSS, that'd be THE definitive fix for stereo. Right now it's a compromise between a nice looking image using either TAA or DLSS but you can't use stereo without blurry outlines, or a clean looking stereo with no TAA or DLSS that's rendered with less pixels than a ps1 game. It also seems like some effects might require TAA to resolve correctly, as not only is there the expected shimmer in the image, but things like screen space reflections are especially shimmery. So, disabling TAA entirely isn't the best solution, but it's the only way to make stereo look good, and I believe based on what I've seen in HZD that DLSS alone, if it could be enabled separately from TAA, could clear up at least some of those visual artifacts while also making the image much more stable.

Joseph Wall

Thanks for the update. That didn’t work for me here. I did the same script and tested that my F12 was actually sending pause/break (keycode 19) and it definitely is, but no luck in-game

J Moose

Following what you say in A14, with the scanner is difficult to hack things, since because of the sweet spot, you can't read well the texts of the diferent hacking options ... the worst part is I can't imagine what could be done to improve that

Cercata

https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/1786 this should help with offset 👍

WIG

Thank you so much for fixing this :)

sucklead

hello super mod all works properly flawless! just a small detail I'm on pimax artisan and 2080s, the aim and offset from the weapon and the reticle ... it is very complicated to shoot down the enemies in these conditions, any idea? anyway thank you!

fio fio

(steam) I have stable 90 on high details 2430x2430 and DLSS to performance. Got fast ssd, 3070, ryzen 3700, 16GB ram at 3600

Filip Pokorny

I don’t have any stutters on 3070. I blame hard drive, (got ssd 5gbps transfer speeds)

Filip Pokorny

latest ver. 3.0.4 causes UI flickering after leaving inventory.

SockDP

you need to close one of your eyes when aiming

SockDP

I managed to get it running with autohotkey app using script (without quotes): “*F12:: SetKeyDelay -1 ; Send {Blind}{Break DownTemp} ; return *F12 up:: SetKeyDelay -1 Send {Blind}{Break Up} return“

Filip Pokorny

Vive Pro 2 here. I had that issue but that was with the 120hz mode. In 90hz everything was fine. @LukeRoss I think there's something weird happening with the camera control and the Vive Console 120hz mode. In fact I suspect it's part of the larger issues that I've noticed with camera control and the Vive Pro 2, e.g. in RDR2 I could never achieve smooth rotation because the camera seems to do a weird flickering, rubber banding or something that isn't smooth despite performance being great (note that I've tested RDR2 again and this is already much better in this version than in the last one I tested, i.e. on HDZ release)

itsmecamille

How do I turn off the first time bind overlay prompt off? I've rebound the key and it won't go away, making spectator viewing very bad.

Joseph Wall

There is a mod that fixes it (mostly) weapon fov mod you can move it but body starts to clip after a certain amount but oh man it is so much better. Look on nexus for it

WIG

Yeah, hacking is a pain.

Shawn Colton

Worked great! Thank you so much!

Shawn Colton

One more comment, Aiming guns is also kind of an interesting experience with the cross hair appearing right between the eyes. It makes me feel cross-eyed while aiming. Also seems a bit jumpy. Is aim assist kicking in for when you're aiming with your head or anything that could stabilize the shot?

Ben .Green

One more thing, when holding the scan button down when trying to hack into systems, the quest objective is so far in the bottom-left hand corner that I cannot read it. Not sure what I can do to adjust some hud elements to bring them in closer for things like this. And although you've done a huge job in making it better than other Cyberpunk VR "mods" out there to read the interface, I still struggle for certain hud elements like the utility slots.

Ben .Green

This isn't a bug so much as an ask. I have a pretty good system to run the game on, i9-10900k and a Radeon RX 6900XT. I'm also using a quest 2 with oculus link cable. So performance has been fairly stable. But visually I have two problems, and this might not be resolvable, really. 1) Background seems shimmery and pixelated. I have tried global sharpening via AMD driver at 40%, and also AAx16 in game. Do you think this would be better using a post-processing filter such as reshade? What are your thoughts? 2) It feels like I get a lot of ghosting when turning my character. Being used to playing FPS games at 120+ frames per second, this is visually distracting and sometimes makes me dizzy. This is probably the lowest priority request, but I was hoping you or someone might help me improve my game experience. Game is very playable though and great job making this mod! Thanks.

Ben .Green

Should've clarified that I have tried that, not being centred is not the issue, thanks though

Lewigi

If you use steam, try adding the below line to the steam properties for CP2077 launch arguments --launcher-skip

kevin

Just shake your head and it'll re-center your view.

Shawn Colton

Does the gun have to be sitting on my cheek?

Shawn Colton

How do you turn off the Red Launcher? I want CP2077 to start right away.

Shawn Colton

You will see it in action at @46.15 and @50.35 here. https://youtu.be/nc_pA4qwsFI

Scorps03

The zip supports both games, and that particular update had fixes for both games. Just use the latest zip in the CP2077 post.

kevin

My keyboard does have pause/break button and I still can’t access the config screen. Not sure what going on

J Moose

This mod is amazing and I'm loving it. You are a genius Luke. Quick issue, when trying to "grab" enemy's from behind during missions, sometimes the camera will move away from the Enemy automatically, its uncontrollable. Forces you to shoot them because you can't grab them. Just an FYI

Scorps03

all good now. Your support is top notch, thank you

petrus munteanu

That's normal. Play it on low settings.

Justin Davis

I have this issue too. Even with 3.0.3

Andi Mountainman

having trouble with double vision with closer objects and npcs

Keith Geldart

The gun problem being so close is definitely the only major issue I've had. I wish there was a way to pull it out further because its really awkward as it is. Using larger guns seems to help a lot but its still pretty jarring to use

MDog

I'm a bit confused by the last post. Is 3_0_3 for RDR2 OR CP2077?

Matthew Kinsey

trying on my 3070 add having alot of stutters but will try again

Sensasianone_Battlestation

Same here, my wireless keyboard doesn't have pause/break, I'll tried the trick with mapping Ctrl+F10 in registry and pulling both triggers on my dualshock 4 doesn't do anything either (tested both in inventory menu and escape menu)

Filip Pokorny

hey guys, i can't bring up the menu with ps5 pad or even keyboard do you have any idea?

alexandre

Regarding Q8: I've done some testing and on my system the bug is only present in VR. In desktop mode in both 21:9 and 1:1 - keeping the resolution that was setup by the mod - the tooltips are displayed, and more to the center of the screen, so I guess there are slim chances of them being rendered out of screen. If this is still a problem for the desktop runtime for some users, I don't see RED coming up with a fix too soon, being that it may be too specific to some configuration. It's pretty crippling, too, since you can't do skills or inventory management. I'm not sure if everybody has this issue, either, but...

petrus munteanu

I am too using VD, since I have the 3 dot issue with the Quest 2 (and I can't seem to find a fix), I know it's not the place, but maybe someone knows a fix?

Dilbahadur

Firstly hats off to you because this mod performs honestly really well and is actually playable, I really thought performance would make it a waste of time. I am having two issues: - most of my guns give me a view inside of V (I see his shoulders and stuff) - my sniper rifle can not be aimed up or down

Lewigi

Can someone confirm if the game run smoother with the steam version or the GOG launcher? I have GOG version RTX 3070 ti, quest 2 and at 2430x2430 on low quality, DLSS at performance and Vsync at 72 game is running at 45 to 65 FPS. I'm planing to buy a RTX 3090 but does the extra VRAM actually helps? Thanks in advance 🙏

Angel Maldonado

Thanks! I'm tracking it now. Hopefully he gets out an update soon.

Lee

Another issue I found, which is potentially more major: The targetting of the projectile launcher (body mod in the game that you can instal), that it to say, the crosshair remains stuck at the centre of the screen and you have to aim it blindly. Using Xbox instead of ps5 fixed issue 2. I still can’t get sound through the link. Other games (and games with mods like outer wilds) have sound. It’s v confusing. Thanks for your reply tho. Any ideas on how to isolate sound?

Eric Clymer

I'm using a Q2 with link cable also. You shouldn't be having any sound issues. There must be something going on with your system, the mod doesn't have a no sound issue. I am using an xbox gamepad and there is no need for keyboard use on any of the menus.

william mumford

Link to mod ( not tested yet ) https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/2375 Edit: author confirmed mod is not up to date just yet ( 2 days ago)

WIG

Yea I also had this it's hard to see in car in daylight super bright light fades in and out, getting out of the car fixes the lighting but something in the car in daylight makes like an eye adaption effect stay in far too long. Edit: I found this : https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/muchml/eye_adaptation_auto_exposure_fix_no_more_blinding/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=sh

WIG

find that sweet spot.

Miguel Augusto

And dont abuse DLSS...

Miguel Augusto

try things out! see what works best for you

Miguel Augusto

As for the new update, I can confirm that the item labels, both inside and outside the inventory are now working. Great job! One other issue I noticed during my several hour long playthrough today: Readable items - if your gun is holstered it works fine, with a detached screen that you can easily read like the inventory or the text message screen. However if your weapon is out, the message is stuck to the camera meaning you can't read it constantly moves when you try to read it. It's minor but I am flagging everything that takes away from a flawless experience. What you have accomplished here so far however is nothing short of amazing for such a demanding game.

gurufabbes

Works great on my RTX 3080 with >3240x3240 resolution, medium (/low for >70fps ) settings, DLSS at balanced or quality and sharpness at lowest. I get around 55fps avg (with occasional higher drops, but rare). Great job Luke, once again! I was waitting for this since last year =)

Miguel Augusto

your mod is robbing me of sleep.... Just tried it again and it is fantastic. Could someone also confirm that Japantown is the most graphically intense part of night city? It is here where the FPS really starts dropping. Beautiful area though.

gurufabbes

Reshade sharpening

WIG

Get the new updated 3.03 file that fixes it.

Atomix

I am unable to see inventory descriptions when hovering over items with the mod installed. It does work when the mod isn't active. Any idea why this might be?

SockDP

On Gamepad if you click the two triggers (or maybe its bumpers) together it will bring up the menu which has the option. Not sure how the OBS function works as yet. Although Oculus Mirror works for capture in OBS.

Scorps03

Luke Ross for President! I can’t believe you got the inventory fixed in 3.03 so quickly!

Matthew Dickerson

Anyone know where to find this for OBS recording?? - "To enable it, find the "OBS video capture" group at the bottom of the "R.E.A.L. VR" tab and tick the checkbox."

Film Art Pictures

Has anyone got this working on the G2 yet?

Tom Westall

Hi, Im connecting a Quest 2 with a link cable. Two issues: 1. No sound at all. But, when I open Virtual Desktop and start CP2077 through the VD Desktop interface, I get sound, but very shaky picture. I know VD is coming soon, but I wanted to see if there was a quick fix for sound? 2. CP2077 seems to require space bars, escape keys, etc through its menu including setting any options. How would we map those primary keyboard functional keys to a gamepad?

Eric Clymer

Yes. I know. But it does not work for me unfortunately

Stuart

I'm getting this, too. Valve Index, i7-11800H, RTX 3070, 16GB RAM. Running impressively smooth, but the jittery/ghosting effect is nauseating. Most evident when watching NPCs walk horizontally in front of you.

Tiny Treeleaf

Index User here: It should work. The gesture you want is "no" by shaking your head. Worked out of the box for me.

gurufabbes

Hi. Thank you for this great mod. i'm using Pimax 5k+ with a RTX 3090. Took some time to dial in, but now it looks great. I have a wierd issue with the crosshair. It's off center to the right of the screen. It makes aiming a little difficult. Is there some way to adjust the horizontal axis of the crosshair? Btw i'm using a gamepad.

Christoffer Jon Jensen

I would highly recommend this mod. https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/2648?tab=posts Also the mod is based on reshade so if you install reshade to another game, (not directly to cyberpunk as it will overwrite the mod) and copy your reshare_shaders folder over to the bin/x64 folder you can use them in game. I set this up to enable FakeHDR and a color filter and it enhanced the visuals immensly on my headset

drowhunter

Got a RTX 3080. DLSS makes everything extremely blurry. Got a fix?

PE Lebel

Hi, I´m using quest 2 via airlink. My specs are i7 12700k 3080 and 16 ram. I have 80 fps in the game (using 72 fps on quest)and when I´m walking forward or sides there´s a constant jittery. Is this normal, or when you hit the72 native headset fps everything has to be smooth as butter?

beatet

Mod is running great, thanks for your work. Not sure if it's already been mentioned, but the cross hair when I am throwing knives doesn't track with with my head movement, it is just stationary. I have to guess where I'm throwing it.

SHINOBI J3ULLET

How well would this mod do on a shadow pc? Had someone on facebook ask me this.

Lee

This mod is amazing. Luke mentioned not to change settings for quality beside resolution. But do you have some visual improvments?

Ok, with 3.0.2, with L1 scanner is not happening. And with L2 I have discovered it happens only when you have nothjing equiped, if you have your fists or a gun equiped, it doesn't happen, so it's not an issue

Cercata

same issue with sniper (with the scope thats like a green screen binoc view) It does not move with head movement

Stuart

Yep watched that hoping there was a secret trick, have tried that head shake numerous times and in numerous combinations with R.e.a.l and have yet to get it to work in any of the modded games on the Valve Index. The mod is amazing by the way - incredible job!

Stuart

The mission with Panam where you jack into her truck to use the turret, you can't aim to shoot the target. Here's my save if you want to check it out. https://www.dropbox.com/s/km8k9iki6egr20z/Panams%20Truck%20Turret-Save.zip?dl=0

Lee

Here's mine. When you load the save, Sniper rifle should be armed already. Its a tech one I think so when you aim, you aren't really looking through a scope. When you aim the rifle, you are looking at a screen with a red diamond. When targeting, the diamond should be over the targets body but its offset. I just used it again in this save to take out the valentinos and I was able to judge the offset and shoot and kill the enemies. I guess that's my temp work around till you come up with something better. https://www.dropbox.com/s/auale6an67esoby/Lee%27s%20Manual%20Save%20-%20Sniper%20Rifle.zip?dl=0

Lee

I'm using an xbox one controller and can't seem to stay couched.

Lee

Hey. Thanks for your job. My issues is mouse moves only horizontally, left and right, no up and down. Gun is in my face, aiming with sniper is weird. I need to find optic by headset, but still gunfight is impossible. Pimax5k+, 2080ti, 2430x2430. One more thing - scanning cameras or anything else works only in the middle of your one eye left or right, but not in the middle of the whole screen as should be

Audrius Mikuckas

Ok , so I may have found an oddity. I noticed that my framerate was being capped at 60. I have my headset set to 75. (Pimax) or 72 (Quest) I have two monitors a 60hz tv and a 120hz samsung monitor. When I slid the window over to the samsung my framerate immediately shot up to max framerate of my headset. Somehow the framerate of the HMD seems to be capped by the refresh rate of the monitor the window is on EDIT: It seems that in FPSVR the framerate is accurate. But the R.E.A.L framerate overlay is capped at the monitor

drowhunter

same issue, finding some way around this is really important to me too.

gurufabbes

Reverb G1 It's a very fast transition, looks like a feature because it's very smooth and fast

Cercata

Well done on solving Q11 and Q12 so quickly. I can confirm that they have been solved. Thank you and I'm looking forward to how this mod progresses. If some of the other issues (tweaking aiming somehow to be more comfortable, some HUD tweaks when aiming and picking things up, sniper rifles aim. quickhacks menu, inventory lables) can be solved, you will have prepared something extremely solid. BTW: Corpo intro looks absolutely fantastic in VR.

gurufabbes

Remapping ctrl worked. The funny thing is that I wasnt even using Ctrl. I was using C for toggle. I think my system is creating artificial Ctrl signals. So mapping crouch hold to a different key worked

dreamking

Any recommendations for when driving in first person, to get rid of the white out when driving during the day?

Lee

Overlay tab in the RealVR Mod menu.

Lee

is there a way to change the fov? the gun is in my face I get that's how luke designed it but i can't aim because is so close im seeing the gun double. Sorry to bother Luke, I love the game but that is the only thing imma complain I promise lol. Thanks for doing GODs work my guy btw

Angel Maldonado

Is there a way to see fps in the MOD?

Matthew Kinsey

Switching to a weapon fixed it.

Matthew Kinsey

Glad you found a solution! Although it should be working with SteamVR too

LukeRoss

I added a workaround, in the next few days I'll try to come up with a proper fix!

LukeRoss

I cannot repro that here, could just be a matter of recentering with the headshake and/or deleting your RealVR.ini after upgrading

LukeRoss

I loaded back in after installing 3.2 but now if above my character and behind. How do I reset the VR view?????........Edit: pulling out a weapon fixes it.

Matthew Kinsey

See Q8!

LukeRoss

It should be working normally with the Index and SteamVR! Did you watch Cas demoing the gesture at https://youtu.be/OzcKPh8UxJ8?t=194 ? She's not using the Index but the gesture is identical

LukeRoss

Haha, that's so weird! I don't do anything like auto-crouch or auto-stand-up and I don't mess with the LCTRL key, so I have no idea what could be causing the issue. Since it's 5 seconds, could it be related to some accessibility function in Windows, like Sticky Keys?

LukeRoss

Loved it, cranked the resolution, turned on quality dlss and it's smooth for cyberpunk. Driving around town was fun.

Phil Asplin

Hey Luke, I really liked in GTA 5 the update you did so that you could have gaze based movement. (hud follows you) That is my only nitpicky critique of your otherwise amazing work! Is there any chance you might do a gaze based option update sometime in the future? Or is it just not possible? Thanks so much for bringing all this great content to VR! EDIT: I think I now understand, it does have gaze based movement like GTA 5 mod, right? Its just the HUD, that doesn't follow. (again, like GTA 5 IIRC) If thats the case, that works for me!

Ken Knutson

I might have a tip for some players who don't mind playing using the mono renderer. Could be a placebo effect, but on a valve index set to 80hz on my machine (11900k +3090): If you set the resoltion to 2970x2970 (or above) with DLSS on Quality (or Balanced) and the sharpening filter to its lowest setting and the graphics preset to medium (or high) you seem to get better performance (and higher graphical features) compared to running at the low graphics preset settings at 2700x2700 (or lower) with no DLSS. Far distance views takes a very slight hit in detail, but close up detail seems about the same as a native 2700x2700 (on the low graphics preset) while performance seems to match 2430x2430 (on low graphics preset). Probably because 2970x2970+DLSS is running internally closer to 2430x2430 than 2700x2700. Like I said, could be a total placebo tweaking effect... but if you want to run the game on med/high settings, it's not a bad way to achieve it.

sharilah

Hey LukeRoss, Been looking forward to the mod and love it so far! Just wanted to mention that I have the inventory issue (Q8) as well and i'm looking forward to a fix or potential workaround though I know it may not be possible. Keep up the good work!

Atomix

I fixed it, just remap a different key to crouch instead of LCTRL or whatever you have assigned?. No Idea why this is an issue but it seemed to fix the keyboard. I'll now try the Gamepad @dreamking

Scorps03

Hi Lukeross! Amazing job so far, this is so cool! I'm having issues though. I can't see item descriptions in the menu to compare them and select the better gear. Which also causes not being able to hack the credit chip from Stout. nothing happens when you select it, nor the usual hack button. any idea why or how to fix? thank you!

Maxime Genier

I am having that same issue, I thought it might have been due to the guardian (oculus quest 2) or the tracking of the headset when sitting down and playing, but even standing and resetting the guardian, playing standing up, launching the game and playing with guardian off doesn't fix it. This is my only issue so far, I also did manage to play on a fresh playthrough for 1 hour with no crouching issues. Kinda felt like a save game issue. but to me that doesn't make sense.

Scorps03

Found the Issue. I had to switch from Auto/SteamVR to OpenXR

Warik

Is there a trick to getting headshake recenter working with the Valve Index, never could work that out? Thanks.

Stuart

When I turn VR off, it disappears. So it is related to the mod. When I turn Mono on it is still there, so not related to AE rendering.. Is there a auto-crouch or auto-stand-up in REAL mod? I don't what might be causing this..

dreamking

I unchecked "Use Desktop Game Theatre while SteamVR is active" and now the launcher doesnt show in VR but when I click play I still just get the next up CyberPunk 2077 and it only loads on Desktop never in VR

Warik

Does anybody have a weird bug you cannot keep V crouched for more than 5 secs. He keeps standing up even when I don’t move or press any keys or mouse.. Not sure if this is my system or mod

dreamking

The launcher in VR?!? Did you remember to uncheck "Use Desktop Game Theatre while SteamVR is active" in the Steam property page for the game?

LukeRoss

Steam Version on Index. Launcher loads fine in VR but when I hit play I see it start to launch the game and then only loads in Desktop not in VR

Warik

For issue 5: Also, you seem to have two ways the camera functions. When a weapon is drawn, the information window stays in front of the camera so this is not an issue. When it's holstered, the information window stays centered and is not visible when you are looking down. In that case, crouching helps. But again, you need these workarounds to play properly....

gurufabbes

In terms of issue 3: Checked again, same issue. The save game I provided is in the Delamain HQ and there are a number of terminals there. As mentioned, you cannot operate the terminals. The controls do not respond once you use one.

gurufabbes

Here's a save with cyberware crosshair sticking issue. Standing still in place, you'll see that everything to the right, is selectable by the crosshair. To the left (the rest of the street), the crosshair just sticks https://www.mediafire.com/file/tozdac503izn8of/ManualSave-75.rar/file

gurufabbes

So have to monitors and noticed the game was basically frozen unless I alt tabbed and click on my secondary monitor. The primary monitor where the image is mirrored flickers real fast but I was able to then move around. I'm running a 12900k and 3090 both moderately overclocked and I still really can't go above the default resolution Luke set, mabey one higher, 2700 x 2700 high think. I still get this "shimmering" all around whenever I move. I'm using a vive pro 2, anyone using that headset?

Matthew Kinsey

Im having these issues. The crosshair sometimes sticks to centre and head movement doesnt move crosshair.

Nicky Butler

Man I was really looking forward to playing this in VR, but dont think my comp can handle it.. was getting stable 40fps at 1350 but still too low to avoid that studder when moving and that causes motion sickness for me. Cant imagine how much work it took to get this game in VR tho, amazing work!

Shadowblac1

Thank you, I will check it out!

Sylmor

Thank you Billy <3

LukeRoss

Insanely good work...again. Already played half of it flat but the details I can see now in VR are just incredible. It's a brand new world. I know I've said it before and I don't want to undermine your work but... commercial VR is about 6 years old now... why isn't this option standard in big AAA titles!!! Makes me frustrated with the whole gaming industry. Thanks for picking up their slack :)

Billy Bloggs

Thanks! 3. They work for me with the left stick, have you tried it? 4. I'm going to need a saved game, please upload it anywhere like on Google Drive and send me the link, 5. For now you can work around that issue by crouching when the items you need to pick up are in a low position

LukeRoss

More issues: 3) Terminals. They work when you're outside of them. When "use" them, zooming into them for a clear picture, you cant select anything. 4) Cyberware again: It occasionally will not change to the cyberware crosshair, which instead remains at the center of the screen where you will have to blindly try and select what you want without a crosshair. 5) HUD issues. If an object is on the ground, i need to look at it. However the information on that item remains centered in the screen meaning I can't read it.

gurufabbes

Just upload it anywhere (like on Google Drive) and give me the link

LukeRoss

Just upload it anywhere (like on Google Drive) and give me the link

LukeRoss

Thank you! I already added this as a known issue above (Q8)

LukeRoss

Luke I went to 1080 x 1080 and stopped vr and still have the info boxes off screen on my flat LCD monitor. For the very bottom items in my inventory I can see part of the info pop ups at the top edge of my screen so it looks like the pop ups are somewhere off the top of the screen.

Matthew Dickerson

I could if it helps! How can I send the files to you?

Sylmor

Haha, no worries, enjoy!!

LukeRoss

Thank you Sir, My apologizes for not reading and being a dullard, I have been educated. thank you.

Sebastianos Ionnides

Ok I'll give it a shot and let you know, thank you for all your hard work! 😁

Shadowblac1

dreamking, by desktop resolution you mean a 16:9 resolution? That's EXTREMELY wasteful, as you're throwing away 44% of the pixels you're rendering. Not a usable workaround, I'm afraid. sucklead, is that with VR stopped?

LukeRoss

It benchmarks at 7781. Applying my formula you get 1469, which means that you should be able to have decent frame rates if you bring down your resolution to 1350x1350

LukeRoss

Thank you Sebastianos! See Q2 and Q7 in the post above :-)

LukeRoss

The HUD is headlocked only during combat, when you need to be able to see it instantly at all times. In other moments the HUD doesn't follow your head (so you can actually look at and read different portions of it), but to bring it in front of you, you just need to shake your head. See Cas demoing that at https://youtu.be/OzcKPh8UxJ8?t=196

LukeRoss

Absolutely brilliant! After some tweaking everything is working beautifully except the HUD doesn't track with head movement. Using Oculus Quest 2.

Scott Fraser

yes, sir, it works. The mod works very well so far and the city looks amazing, thank you!

petrus munteanu

Im only getting about 50-55fps when on low, and medium is like 25-30fps, high is 18fps, I have a 3060 TI graphics card, 48GB ram, Valve Index. My proc is an I7. windows 10 pro OS. thoughts? (it looks great though, im excited to play it when I get the FPS up a bit, and thank you for all your hard work sir!)

Sebastianos Ionnides

Just tried that and the issue is the same in 1080x1080.

sucklead

I know, my card is listed but.. 😭

Shadowblac1

I can provide you mine. How do I get it to you?

gurufabbes

Could you please try this: lower the resolution to 1080x1080, so the whole game window will fit on your monitor, then from the mod overlay push the "Stop VR" button, then open the inventory. If the issue persists, then the problem is with the game expecting a 16:9-ish aspect ratio, and it will be much more difficult to fix. If the issue goes away in 1080x1080 with VR off, then it's my bug and it might be easier to solve!

LukeRoss

What headset are you using?

LukeRoss

Did you see Q6 above?

LukeRoss

See Q2 above. 25 fps are WAAAY too low for a good experience, you need to achieve at least 50-60

LukeRoss

Can you provide a save game with the implant available?

LukeRoss

Can you provide a save game for the scope problem? They seemed to work for me, but there are so many different weapons in the game

LukeRoss

Check the FPS with the interface that is included in the mod. That is how I am measuring performance as I tweak the settings.

gurufabbes

Ok, I was able to find a workaround! I wanted to share in case anybody needs it.. When I switch the game resolution to be exactly the same as desktop resolution, pop-ups re-appear! Actually, beyond pop-ups appearing, the game screen 2D box also becomes huge (which doesn't happen in lower or higher resolutions), so something is special about having the same resolution for desktop and game.. But of course the quality of graphics if pretty bad at desktop res, so one needs to switch resolution back and forth to play.. I will experiment with making the desktop resolution 2700 x 2700 instead.. If I am successful I will post.

dreamking

Matthew, sucklead, Schlimm, could you please try this: lower the resolution to 1080x1080, so the whole game window will fit on your monitor, then from the mod overlay push the "Stop VR" button, then open the inventory. If the issue persists, then the problem is with the game expecting a 16:9-ish aspect ratio, and it will be much more difficult to fix. If the issue goes away in 1080x1080 with VR off, then it's my bug and it might be easier to solve!

LukeRoss

The FPS, resolution and quality of HUD and controls are amazing!! Thank you Luke!! My only problem is not being able to see any info on inventory items or skills..

dreamking

I don't understand why the game becomes 2D sometimes when I press L1 or L2 ... I don't know if it's a bug or a feature. I have looked in the options in case it was a feature to disable it, I don't see anythong

Cercata

Same.. I can't see item detail pop-ups in inventory as well as info for skills. Not playable without seeing the info for items or skills.. I tried switching to mono, and change resolution etc, but it didn't fix it.. Curiously VorpX mod had a very similar problem (but it showed the info 80% of the time, and failed 20%).

dreamking

Yes. Crosshair does not follow where your head turns, so no way to know where you're shooting

gurufabbes

Flatlining for me as well. It works fine without the mod, using the GOG version. I've uploaded the dumps here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MHLVNwVNYXSOt2ZJrKo2QZwonTQkxJ1C?usp=sharing

petrus munteanu

Anyway to get rid of the 'vibration' or shuddering when moving? Also can only seem to achieve around 25 fps running on GTX 1650

Shadowblac1

is it common for it to be boxy when turning your head?

Gam3rL1ves

The main issues in terms of gameplay that I have encountered, regardless of the settings so far is: 1) Zooming with a gun is slightly uncomfortable, so zoomed in that I can see my weapon twice through both eye perspectives. 2) Cyberware: Because you are aiming with your nose, you can't both aim and know what you're selecting at the same time, because the second you turn to read it on the menu, you unselect the target...

gurufabbes

So I have just tried it and for a first try, it runs much better than I would have thought, but I am busy tweaking to to find the right settings. (Valve Index on laptop with GeForce RTX 2070 with Max-Q Design, i7 9750 GPU) EDIT: Yes, I have found the optimal settings, and it was in line with your calculation above: 1890 x 1890 then, Anisotropy set to 16, all graphical settings on medium, distant shadows resolution set to low.; All resolution scaling settings off. Please let me know if there are any of these settings I should be rearranging in VR to optimize things further. But this way I manage to keep FPS around 40 while driving in the center of town.

gurufabbes

i also use the rift cv1 at the current moment

Gam3rL1ves

Gam3rL1ves

When using Sandevistan (the slowmo implant), aiming using your head is disabled and reverts to fully using the controller to aim. It fixes itself when the slowmo ends but it pretty much makes Sandevistan unusable.

Sylmor

I get the bottom text of my guns hover over at the top of the screen and nothing for vendors.

sucklead

Yes me too. I just switch to shotgun no problem there 😂

Matthew Dickerson

Anyone else have issues with aiming using sniper rifles?

Lee

Disabled GOG overay and all working fine, amazing Luke!

Greyhaim

this also applies to vendors

Schlimm Genug

Same problem here.

sucklead

I can’t see the stats on the items in my inventory - is there a setting to adjust to get the pop up on screen? Playing 2700 x 2700

Matthew Dickerson

Thank you. Will try those.

Shawn Colton

Virtual Desktop is not compatible yet, please use the Link cable or Air Link for the moment!

So far ... Virtual Desktop + Cyberpunk 2077 gives me a crash "Cyberpunk has flatlined."

This is amazing news! As soon as I’m out of hospital I’m hitting this up! I’ll try it on the G2 and Q2, happy to test it out on the Pimax 8KX and Vive pro2 this coming week if that helps the community!! Running a 3090 so I’m hoping this looks epic! I did a week of solid testing on RDR2 and I have to say it’s been an amazing experience, likely the best VR experience I’ve ever had. The immersion is like no other.

Can’t wait. Will this require a gamepad?
