Which games do you want me to mod in the future?

So, as I promised some time ago, now that the Mafia trilogy is done I'd love to hear your voice: where should we go next?

During the ~6 months since the Patreon started, I collected suggestions from many of you, and I have to say that they're all over the place :-) No clear winner has emerged, so let's do a poll!

Also, to complicate the matters a bit, I have two games still in the pipeline (I won't spoil the surprise, but if I do manage to convert them to VR they will be simply AWESOME). And, as you know, the "definitive edition" GTA trilogy just came out yesterday, which is attracting lots of people because of the commercial hype plus the nostalgia factor.

Even though I know that it will disappoint some of you, I won't include GTA: The Trilogy DE in the following list, and after much thought I've decided that I will not touch it with my mods. I have two main reasons: first, I really don't like how the games look and play after the pseudo-remake (totally subjective and debatable, I know, but still); second, and more important, modding them would mean entering direct commercial competition with Rockstar AND Facebook/Meta, since they already announced publicly that they're working on a native VR version of GTA: San Andreas.

So, modding the trilogy now would almost certainly bring upon us the Thor hammer of a cease and desist order from Rockstar and/or Facebook, and that would possibly kill the mods for GTA V and RDR2 too (when greedy lawyers get involved, they tend to come at you with nukes, not surgical scalpels). I'm totally not going down that suicidal road.

Here's the poll. Please note that some of these games are natively in first person and some are meant to be played in third person. For the 3rd person ones, I might try to convert them to 1st person since several people seem to prefer that, but as you saw with the Mafia series the process is not guaranteed to succeed, or to actually improve gameplay. I hope I'm not forgetting something major, and if the game you're hoping for isn't listed, please choose "Other" and make yourself heard in the comments!

Comments

This poll was taken before I joined the Patreon. I would agree with leading proposals for VR mods of the Far Cry series (hopefully including Primal), and Bioshock. I would add a few I think would be good (I think you excel at dedicated 1st person experiences): the Metro series, HALO, Crysis, (maybe Arma to play the campaigns) In terms of some indie games: Dear Esther and What Remains of Edith Finch and new Call of Cthulhu game. I would however agree that Far Cry and Bioshock should have first priority.

gurufabbes

New member here. Been using REAL mod since GTA5. While Cyberpunk 2077 will be an epic achievement, I personally think The Far Cry series would be a feat of untold proportions. Especially since you were able to get Reshade to work with this, Far Cry in my opinion would be the most visually stunning. I would love to see this for the Battlefield series as well. Good work!+

Smarter Sec

sorry to hog the comments ......... PL. mod "Planet Coaster"..... amazing graphics like cyberpunk... even better I would say

Ramesh Jagannathan

all these driving simulators are thousand hours of fun

Ramesh Jagannathan

also pl. mod "Snow Runner"... amazing off the road game

Ramesh Jagannathan

Pl. mod the "driving games genre"..... there is no train or bus simulators in VR. Pl. mod "the Bus" game and Train Sim2 or "Train Life: A Railway Simulator" or "Train Simulator 2022"

Ramesh Jagannathan

Definitely!

Hey looking forward to your Cyberpunk 2077 vr mod! Have a nice day!

OOO LLL

As you can see from the poll, there are MANY games on the list before the ones you mentioned, so I really have no answer for your requests :-/ Making a VR mod for a game is not a trivial affair, so despite the fact that you would love having a few games modded, I cannot give you any timeframe

LukeRoss

I never got a message back from you.

Subatomic_particles

I send you a message on : JAN 18 Subatomic_particles 11:37 PM Any idea when your VR mod will be available for just cause 3&4 ? I'm also looking for a better dying light mod made by you.

Subatomic_particles

I would love to see Just Cause 3 & 4 in VR. I would also love to see a better Dying Light in VR made by you.

Subatomic_particles

arma

Would love to see the Halo Master Chief collection done in VR if possible :)

Si

I Think Ghostrunner Would Be Awesome In VR

JBOX

Please Consider ARK Survival Evolved. You would be So many Peoples HERO if you did! ;)

Daniel Becker

Id love to see a VR mod for Pray. The game is so god damn pretty that i would love to walk around in that place. Along with exploring outside the ship and floating in deep space, this would make the perfect VR experience. Thanks for your consideration.

Nier Automata or God of War PC

ItzRene

I'd love to see Sea of Thieves done in VR! That's a world I might never leave, haha

Michael DePalma

I would like to see crysis in VR ;)

Thats awesome you bought it :) Fingers crossed haha

LVNDSCAPE

It does look like it was meant for VR!!! I can promise nothing, but I impulse-bought it :-)

LukeRoss

Steep would be so amazing ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XznTHeUkGXA https://store.steampowered.com/app/460920/Steep/

LVNDSCAPE

witcher 3 please

the witcher 3 wild hunt would be baddass !!!

Guillermo Rodriguez

vorpx doesn't want to admit.

june kim

cyberpunk would look amazing in VR but i cant imagine it rurnning well even on my rtx 3090 its already a beast to max out heh.

Resident Evil 7 would be great :-) for Cyberpunk 2077 is already a vr mod available: https://www.vorpx.com/cyberpunk-vr-download/

johno

Witcher would be very nice

I know I'm coming in after the battle, but "The Outer Worlds" could be added for a future survey (next year?) :)

Patsu

I don't think it's totally fair to conclude that Far Cry came out in second place, because the series has 6 games, while for example The Witcher 3 got basically the same votes for a single title, so many more votes "per game" so to speak... Anyway the priority now is doing a great CP2077 implementation, then we'll see how to move forward!

LukeRoss

I see Far Cry came 2nd in the poll. Will you be doing a poll to decide which Far Cry game to mod first?

Marlec

Witcher 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ff7

ff7 remake!!!

The Witcher! I love 3rd person games in Vr !

The Crew 2 would be sick! Be awesome to traverse the whole country in VR :)

I was thinking about this list today, and while voting is closed, I was thinking how epic Control would be in VR

David Pierce

Thank you guys!!! Every suggestion is appreciated, but as you see the backlog is becoming immense :-D

LukeRoss

Please make Shenmue 1, 2, and 3 in VR. :) That would be amazing to see.

Hello there. First post and I love your work. I would personally like to see Destiny 2 in VR as it is an incredible world to explore. However I understand it is a neiche game and probably isn't popular enough to warrant doing.

Monster Hunter World would be great! I want to hunt those monsters in 3D!! 1st person might work for those that use Gun, Bow too!!

Hi Luke. i've created a post on the forums at race department to try and rally support for a VR mod for Forza Horizon 4/5. I've had a few replies but I just wanted to let you know. https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/trying-to-get-luke-ross-to-do-vr-for-fh5.212842/

Brad Lewington

F1 2021 would be nice :-)

Id luv to see - Exo One ( Unreal Engine ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDWNDdmwzAs , - Kena Bridge of Spirits (Unreal Engine 4) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOMRGOsSJq0 - Doom Eternal (Vulcan ? ) one day. Thx for all Luke , youre amazing. Can't await the surprise release tomorrow ;D Merry XMAS

LVNDSCAPE

Hmm I actually remember when Oculus VR 1st came out nvidia was supposed to be working on something like vorpx, It was listed alongside some major techs that did get added but then when they released the next cards they dropped all mention of it.

Boat Kettle Cheese

Never going to happen :-(

LukeRoss

That a shame I hope Nvidia would support it again.

Christian

Hey Christian, those games have been modded by Helifax who's a friend and an awesome coder. It would make little sense for me to do them again. He does take a different approach, which as you say is more oriented to emulate a 3D screen instead of immersing you fully in the environment, but the 3D reconstruction is top notch and enough to greatly enjoy the games.

LukeRoss

Hey Luke, There are some great mods for doom Wolfenstein and Detroit: Become Human on this site: http://3dsurroundgaming.com/Vk3DVisionGames.html there are in vr but only on a movie screen just like vorpx are you planning to make a R.E.A.L vr mod for these games? or schould i just play it in between your mods or schould i wait when you also make a mod for these games?

Christian

It could never win, but I do remember it fondly! Played it through at least twice. A sort of weird hybrid between Mafia and Assassin's Creed :-D It would look great in VR despite being 3rd person!

LukeRoss

Luke, do you know "The Saboteur" ? It would be nice to see it in the next poll ... even if I think it will not win XD

Cercata

Id actually go through and complete that again in VR, one of the chars looks like a beaver I guess.

Boat Kettle Cheese

star wars fallen order

Philip H

Hey guys, I just found out that God of War, ghost of tsushima, uncharted and bloodborne are coming to pc. I hope it's real and would be cool if we get a vr mod. https://www.earlygame.com/gaming/god-of-war-ghost-of-tsushima-uncharted-collection-bloodborne-coming-to-pc/

Christian

Look at ... Meta ... They are already doing this with RE4 and GTA:SA. Using older games and converting them has so much potential and I think they are tapping into it.

Joe To The Future

Max Payne 3 (hear me out) I played it in 360 3D using a first-person mod and VorpX. It was the most intense and visceral gameplay experience I have ever had! (1st person makes it insane!!)! I really think game devs should be looking at their catalogs there is plenty of opportunity to port older games to PcVR and the Quest 2

Hahaha, you don’t have announced it yet to this patreon and it’s all over the vr news media that you work on a possible cyberpunk mod. It won’t work smoothly but yeah, lots of new patreons for you i guess, so you can continue longer … a good thing in the end ☺️. You re going to hire staff a this rate 🤪, more mods for us ! (I still think this cyberpunk mod will be a jittery clinky sad thing on my 2080ti, but i ll try it anyway of course, hoping to be wrong !)

Emile Tixeuil

Found this yesterday :) If that's true...oh boy:) https://www.pcgamer.com/cyberpunk-2077-vr-mod-should-come-out-in-january-says-creator/

Hoshi82

Would be great to see a game set in Asia! Sleeping dogs or Yakuza 0 would be amazing

Philip H

Im guessing the other game luke is working on is horizon zero dawn. In fact im fairly certain from the hints hes given :)

Nicky Butler

forgotten city

Philip H

Seeing the shift, maybe CP2077 will be finished soon. I wonder if the expansion will imply deep changes in the engine ... https://images.elotrolado.net/news3/0/2/3/291121192517_0.jpg

Cercata

It's about time we get a new hint, what type of game are you working on? Is it a first person game with a good story?

Christian

I read your post about this question, but...why don't you try to make RDR2 playable with controllers?

Giovanni M

With your talents @lukeross and the way UE4 works, I think working on a Universal UE4 VR injector could have the largest ROI of any modding project. Projects like UUU that can hook and control the camera system between practically any UE4 game are good examples of what it looks like common variables to create a VR mod on the engine level. This wouldn't be GTA Remake related, there's just HUNDREDS of amazing UE4 games that would be amazing in VR and you working on that could have a much much larger benefit than working on a game like Cyberpunk that only has one or two games with that specific engine. Just my two cents!

Brian Tate

Two more from my end, but I am fine with whatever you are working on: Batman Arkham City or Sekiro

Hey Luke, Dying Light is already in vr but if it's not too much work you could improve it?

Christian

Some really great choices here. I think most of them would be great. What I think I would like most is Forza Horizon. All existing racing VR games are either sims or futuristic racers. I want a solid arcade racer.

Dan Moll

What about Battlefield 1?

B A R O N

Any advice on games we should buy on the Autumm Sale ?

Cercata

I would love to one day see a R.E.A.L VR mod for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain/Ground Zeroes. I've put about 2000 hours into it since 2015 and absolutely adore the idea of being Venom Snake, like, legit being Venom Snake. I sadly couldn't ever get any Fox Engine games to run with things like VORPX so I'm throwing it out here, hoping you might be a fan of the franchise too!

Personally, I am really happy for CP2077 winning. While the game isn't that clean and bug-free, but I trust in the devs and DLSS for bringing us a very enjoyable experience in some months. Honestly, nowdays I am a bit lazy to play single games in 2D, so I just bought it now in hopes for the vr port to happen. (was on 50% sale and needed an excuse) I would also dust off Witcher 3 if that won, but am happy as is. Mafia 1 was really great and I have a looooong way to go in RDR2 still, so I can wait some time.

Tamás Kiss

I am such a sucker for all things Star Wars. would love to see Jedi fallen Order if possible. Keep up your great work!

Honestly, seems like a waste of your valuable time to do Cyberpunk.. while enjoyable it is still deeply flawed on so many levels that cannot be fixed at the moment. Personally I’d love to see witcher or bioshock, as proven masterpieces.

Deehn

I think Metro, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Train Simulator, would be great in Vr.

Cyberpunk is definitely winning the vote, but I really hope the GTA V Reshade build is still in the cards, it's third in the vote!

Cyberpunk everybody wants

No one have mentioned Star Citizen in VR or a proper Elite Dangerous Odyssey in first person VR.

Derrick taylor

If you end up doing Witcher 3 which I hope there's a way to toggle between 1st/3rd person if you add a first person mode. Roaming the world would be great in first person but combat would be nauseating given how much Geralt jumps around BTW I just want to say thanks for all the hard work you do. Glad I've been able support from the start. VR needs more flat conversions and I'm glad my small pledge can contribute to that

CozyViera

metro exodus, tomb raider, gears of War, prince of persia, darksiders. could also be good games to play in vr

Christian

Would love to see Wolfenstein new order and new Colossus, old blood and new blood as option

WIG

Please add teleport option in your mods when it possible in walking. I still get motion sick without teleport option even after 5 years of VR gaming. I'll be happy to play in VR mods of any new game. Thanks Luke for your great mods!

Dmitriy

So I wanted to add another game to my "Other". Fable 1 and 3. Even though I have the hardware. I'd just prefer something a little older where trying to push frames to maintain a decent framrate won't be an issue. Even going back to something as old as Clive Barkers Undying or the Alice games. Deus Ex 1 is still the holy grail.

Gta trilogy

Shane Cooper

whatever you choose, choose a game with 1st person driving (Cyberpunk, far cry, ...)

Martin Steiner

Regardless of which game wins i hope Luke keeps the results as a reference for future projects, theres nothing on the list or in the suggestions that i wouldnt try.

Gaz252

2nd position is really disputed.

Cercata

I voted for a couple on my wishlist. If I could choose only one it would be the Metro series. I've been waiting to play those since VorpX on the DK1 and decided to shelve them until a proper mod came out. In the end, whatever you're most excited about will be fine. Thanks for all you do!

Yes, it would be a killer, but not the way you mean ;-) See the post

LukeRoss

You mean for campaign or for PvP ? PvP normally have anti-cheat, so they would detect the MOD and kick/ban you, or not le you enter the online.. GTA Online would be awesome, but even having the MOD for the game, we can't play

Cercata

Call of duty battlefield maybe even better than far cry but also far cry in vr great

The new gta trilogy would be a killer or even havening them moded in gta v vr also

Forza would be awesome

For example hitman series or just 3 because there is on psvr

Yes Please, Cyberpunk 2077, Far Cry 5 Seemed Perfect for VR, Witcher 3 also is Great. Those are my Top 3

pyroblaze13

what would be the chances of MotoGP?

Greyhaim

hmmm, GTA4, I wonder why this wan't in the pool

Cercata

Love all the mods Luke has created so far, all the ones listed here sound really good. I voted for cyberpunk 2077 but would love a real mod version of grand theft auto 4 it already performs quite well in vorpx with a few texture mods it looks almost like a new game.

Nick Brimble

i tried vorpx with it,its Z3D wich is great for cinema mode ads some depth and makes characters pop a bit but the objects are 2d including the characters everything just more spaced out to give depth, but for full vr sucks,it isnt like lukes mods with geometry 3D.

Cazanu

Snowrunner pretty please?

Fearganainm

The first 8 hours are the best (And not open world) then when it opens up its a generic open world bug fest, I played in Vorpx and it was a big mistake, awful. Haven't touched the game since.

The Merote

you can also make the wise kingdom Heart in vr?

Dyroo91

wrc 10 rally could also be fun in vr

So Cyberpunk is leading.. did anybody actually enjoy that game? I bought it, played it for about 2 hours and never touched it again. Has it improved after the patches?

Andre Warringa

You quickly shake your head left and right once to recenter with Luke's mod.

Andre Warringa

How do you recenter vr with our head?

Christian

good call.....you can play Deadspace via Vorpx but I'm sure Luke can do a way better job...

TheReclusiveGamer

holy crap....you're right....Visage or Outlast 1 and 2....Iactually played Visage in VR until the devs pulled it for some reason....sick game

TheReclusiveGamer

wait....the Modern Warfare series lol or Battlefield....oh I don't know,I'm like a kid in a candy shop now....

TheReclusiveGamer

damn bro.....to be honest, all of these games sound awesome....I personally have all of them so,any of these titles I'd be content with....my first choice hands down would be Cyberpunk of course but....damn,choices,choices lol I'd say the Farcry series or for sure Just Cause 3 and 4...for years via Vorpx,I've been trying to get a proper full 3D VR compatible playthrough but to no avail....you got me hooked Luke lol if I could pay more then 10 or 20 bucks a month for your mods,I would man....let me know,I'm more then willing:-)

TheReclusiveGamer

What about Detroit becom human. It looks great and would totally feel as if you are inside a movie, i bet a real emotional rollercoaster.

Uuuhh CP2077 pleeease :)

Hoshi82

Farcry 5 in VR would be awesome. Kill me some peggies. Also a newer game, Severed Steel would look unreal in VR.

B A R O N

i liked the initial 3rd person cam in mafia1 DE vr..it did the trick nicely..senua´s sacrifice vr is another one..3rd person vr"could" work (if implemented properly), i think :)

Flowzen

i think your right on the update and breaking part..:/ and i also think forza4 (if technical possible) would be a blast in vr :) until then i´d take kingdom come´s forest, bioshock or ac:black flags seas, or death stranding´s grassy hills, any day! :D

Flowzen

i trust your intuition on that mate ;) good thinking on the gta franchise. not worth to risk our other mods and your accomplishments. thanks for your work mate, means a lot to us. :) btw my reddit handle is fibonaccivr, nice to see your work evolving friend :)

Flowzen

Agreed.

Brad Lewington

Exactly what I was thinking, any newer games that are still getting updates will prob break the mod a couple of times. Personally I think the older games are safer to mod.

Steve Thurston

Cyberpunk is my most desired game for VR actually, but I didn't vote for it, since CDPR is still working on it, they'll probably break the MOD several times with big changes ...

Cercata

the newer f1 games from codemasters would be cool to play in vr

Deus Ex, Any of them, All of them. Would prefer the Original Deus Ex though. If possible make it compatible with stuff like Revisions as well.

I actual prefer playing without motion controllers. Even sold my base station for Pimax just to play seated. Now those baby games on oculus for quest 2 are fun with motion controls. But Luke gives us total recall vacations and the westworld of the future, now.

God's love sent Jesus to save us, not judge us.

Surprised mass effect trilogy remaster was not on the list but I went for far cry but would love rage 2 as well. It's looking like cyberpunk and I am cool with it but just hope patches don't mess with the mods and once it's done Luke can move on down the list.

WIG

Something completely different - Wreckfest. It's a great game and with Vorpx it's even better in Immersive mode. I and a lot of people on the Wreckfest forum would love to see true VR for this.

Andre Warringa

the stalker series (a bit old now) and the metro series would also be fantastic. I have tried the Metros with vorpx but nothing near as awesome as your stuff Luke.

Greyhaim

I think first person view would be a main priority for me. Kingdom come deliverance would be my vr dream. Such a good game in both gameplay & graphics. I'd be lost in that for weeks. followed by the witcher 3. That game is a solid classic which i would imagine would perform well. Although I have no objection to cyberpunk as it could be great in vr, I think its a bad choice due to its heavy performance demands as I can't imagine its going to look that good once the compromises are made to get it running in smooth vr

VirtualmisterL

i love idea of playing Assasins Creed in vr. it would kind of be a dream come true.

Joseph Spadaford

Bioshock for me with AC3 & 4 in close second. Those ship battles in VR :P

Marlec

I picked Witcher 3, Cyber Punk is a big mistake in my opinion (even though it looks like its winning) CP2077 isn't even a finished game from the devs, possible massive overhaul next year, would be a pain to keep updating and breaking the VR mod but truth be told we need an open world racing game in VR, there isn't one and what better than Forza 4 & 5. Euro / American Truck sim2 is all we have and thats been a beta for years. The Crew 2 might be another contender, Ubisoft have no plans for VR for that game.

The Merote

For me it would have to something that has native first person or usable first person mod. I would love to play the Dead Space series in VR but it would need first person..

Greyhaim

It's already being made by Praydog + RE2, RE3 & RE8

The Merote

I know these are older but just throwing them out there.....7 days to die and Ark survival evolved

Resident Evil 7 pretty please :)

Carlos

That is a good point. But I think it is worth the challenge.

Derrick taylor

The Developers of Cyberpunk are done with patches for now. Read the latest development page on the game. Of course, as you know, Rockstar has always update GTA 5 and RDR2 with DLC and tune ups and Luke has kept up with each addiction to those games.

Derrick taylor

There are 3 or 4 racing VR games already.

Derrick taylor

A game horror , visage , re7 or 8 ou outlast or other horror game

Carl Adoni

I have this game but held of playing it as I can imagine it in VR. even an over the shoulder view (Mafia 2 DE style) I think would be great.

Natasha Owens

Cyberpunk... getting that to run on non VR is enough of a hot mess. I cant imagine many of us would be able to run that smoothly in VR.

Natasha Owens

If I could experience Horizon: Zero Dawn again in proper VR, I'm confident that I would die happy. That game was an enthralling adventure that gripped me until the very end.

Hamish Prendergast

That's a very good point I hadn't thought of, thanks!

LukeRoss

Sure, that totally makes sense! With longer franchises I'd say no more than two or three in a row

LukeRoss

I think it’s worth thinking about the impact you could make with a Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla mod, especially with the Museum modes. The educational impact of being able to place a student inside of those settings with the research and information that they’ve been imbued with could quite literally change the way history is taught

Uii for sure i would die for Assassins Creed Unity/Origins/Odyssey/Brotherhood/2 :O

One question I did have was, If you did Far Cry would we get other games in between releases? It'd probably get a bit repetitive if all 6 were released in a row since after 3 the gameplay doesn't change so much

Lewigi

Bear in mind with Cyberpunk there still may be a lot of patches coming out which could break the mod. I’d suggest maybe waiting on that one until further down the road.

Colin

Aliens Isolation has been done in VR already.

Derrick taylor

I think Forza Horizon 4/5 would be a huge opportunity to increase your Patreon numbers as the sim racing community is huge and always looking for side interest titles to complement the serious titles. Do a poll on the race department forums and see what interest you get.

Brad Lewington

Gears of War series, and Control.

Boat Kettle Cheese

Ive tried the vorpx cyberpunk, it works and looks good for about 30 mins but then I start to notice the depth and fov look skewed and the realism and immersion then breaks down. The fov and depth look great in rdr2 vr and mafia vr to me.

Boat Kettle Cheese

Please mod Days Gone!

How about the Halo series or Aliens

Cyberpunk 2077 is already in first person so it would be logical to do the game with full immersion in VR. The Vorpx version is good but the first person driving in Vorpx VR is horrible

Derrick taylor

It would be nice to know which engines you can get a bigger return on investment. Meaning Cyberpunk would be cool, but if you're going to spend a long time working on it and then we're stuck with FXAA always on or whatever it was that just made playing Mafia 1 really blurry regardless of what you do. Or if there were certain engines it was easier for you to get motion controller support in the game (like RE2 and RE3 are being done). Thanks for all your hard work so far.

Looks like everyone wants Cyberspunk. I'd like to know what Luke desires to see done in vr.

God's love sent Jesus to save us, not judge us.

Alien vs predator classic 2000

God's love sent Jesus to save us, not judge us.

Orignal Fable would be really cool, the anniversary edition also Oblivion would be amazing

Gramsci

Would love a teaser on what the two games in pipeline are

I have tryed FC3 and FC4 with VorpX, and except for the weapon scale, it worked quite well. If he is able to fix that, I think not much work is needed compared to other games. FC2 doesn't have that issue.

Cercata

Far Cry 3 is begging to become a VR experience!

oursoul

That's true about L.A. Noire, but the VR version is already dead and buried in their minds, so I doubt they would care. Not so for the upcoming games

LukeRoss

OMG, the choice is so difficult, I want all of them !!! LA Noire would be also entering competition with R*, I'm happy it has few votes

Cercata

Even 3rd person mafia 2 style could be awesome ...

Cercata

Was about to mention Detroit BH. Are you saying that its possible to play in VR?

Solomon Ginsberg

That said, been eyeing up Horizon for a while now, so would definitely persuade me to finally buy it.

I haven't played the Mafia games, but voted for the older assassins creed games mostly thinking of 1st person mode...

Any game with « real 3D » VR, just like Alien isolation from Nibre. Is that possible ?

Hey Luke (and all). My first post since sponsoring you a few months back. First, and most importantly, thank you for your incredible work here! Had so much fun with RDR2 and Mafia:DE in VR. I've been playing and enjoying 3D games since the very early days (before even 3D vision was a thing) and then jumped on VR as soon as it emerged. I really struggle to engage with pancake games now, with the exception of games that still lend themselves well to 2D like Divinity Original Sin or to play something arcade style with friends/family. I very much agree from a logical perspective with the comments about performant games being the best choice for VR conversions. However, from a purely selfish perspective I've played many of those games on a 3D monitor over the years, and then after that using 3D vision tech leveraged for VR (and boy were they fun) but now having a 3xxx series Nvidia card, it's no longer possible to do this so my votes will primarily be for the games that are the most demanding, like Cyberpunk and Forza. The only other credible solution for modern games in VR with a 3xxx series GPU is Helifax's VK3Dvision project. I've just played through Detroit: Become Human and it was incredible. Their custom game engine is really up there with regards to the rendering of their game world. Helifax's approach is different though, he's just doing a straight 2D to 3D conversion of the game, not attempting to change the way the game works for VR. It's such a pity that we're still at the stage with VR that it just doesn't provide enough financial return for the game developers/publishing houses to include 3D/VR support. At the same time, I think a lot of them still just don't get it - you don't have to make a game fully VR (like Half Life Alyx) in order for it to be an incredible experience as you are demonstrating with your VR mods. I also respectfully disagree with anyone who says 3rd person is no good in VR. Actually, I think pretty much ANY game would be better in 3D and at scale - top down strategy, beat-em ups, RPGs, you name it - better in 3D :D So much time and money is invested in creating an incredible game world nowadays with the big titles and to fully appreciate that environment, it needs to be experienced in 3D and at scale (RDR2 is incredible with everything cranked up to max). Cyberpunk is a great example here. I've played through some of it on a 32:9 HDR monitor but in VR it would be something else. In VR, I can spend hours just marvelling at my surroundings and fully appreciating the work of the developers and artists. Anyway, enough rambling, once again my heartfelt thanks for all that you are doing. Would like to add to the list of games to consider: Control (Tomb Raider series, from the first reboot game onwards) A Plague Tale Innocence Resident Evil Biohazard + Resident Evil Village

Robin White

I would love to see Cyberpunk or Death Stranding. I feel like not too much could be gained with bioshock that vorpx doesn't already achieve. I'm curious what makes a good candidate for VR mod work (is there a particular engine that's a nightmare)? Of titles not in the poll, I would like to see Deus Ex Mankind Divided (kinda splits the difference between Cyberpunk and having solid performance) but I thought the switches between first and third person would be a nightmare to implement but the work on the mafia titles suggest... maybe not?

Dead space, i would shit my pants! Yes!

But same goesvfor the whitcher and cyberpunk and all of the far cries (duuude, primal? Epic!) And the assassin creeds...

Man, so many amazing choices... but Horizon is just so, so good, imagine it with full motion controller support..

my dream is to play DayZ in VR but dont think thats possible due to online nature etc. oh well, maybe one day...

please consider something that is way less demanding, Halo MCC would be cool or I second Max Payne, as much as I would love Kingdom Come or Cyberpunk I can't see them running well even on super high-end hardware.

Not sure how feasible, but first person AC games would be amazing. The parkour would be so much fun!

dishonored 1 is the only game (aside from prtal) that is perfect in vorpx full vr. the gameplay is perfect, so dishonored 2 would be awesome with r.e.a.l.

Martin Steiner

yes. but 3rd person sucks in VR. and first person conversion in mafia is quite bad to play.

My Dream would be,to play the first two Thief/ Dark Project games with full vr/ -controller support, but i think , they are too old , nevetheless the atmosphere still isnt beaten yet

well , overall a great list of games with interresting settings, but maybe considering performance the older assassins creed games should run well.

Yep. I feel that tension too. I would love to work on games that can run at 120-180 fps and good resolution with current hardware, but the new games are where the interest/hype is. This Patreon is already down ~25% from the initial opening, so if we don't want it to die down we probably need to move where the news and YouTubers want to go, even if it doesn't make perfect sense

LukeRoss

I dont know if its possible, but "theHunter: Call of the Wild" is a game i allways thought about to play it in VR, it can be very relaxing and it looks nice.

Nedo Braun

Unfortunately that's not the way corporations think. And Rockstar doesn't have a good track record in that sense

LukeRoss

I know right!! The fact it's slightly older should mean good FPS too

Lewigi

I'm really hoping for some more performant games to get voted for, I'm not sure hardware is ready for cyberpunk VR lol

Lewigi

ohh . i can't decide between Forza 5 and the older Assassin's Creed games

NOT voting for Bioshock as this series works extremely well using Vorpx. I’d rather have Luke work on titles that are not available to us VR players. Regarding the wrath from lawyers, they’ll just shoot thier clients in the foot by coming after you. I dont play pancake pc games at all so no vr = no purchase = zero profit. I’m not great at math but some money is usually better than no money at all :)

The new coming soon games for PC from Sony..Ghost of tsushima/uncharted/God of war

Glad to see Dishonored on there. Just replayed 2 and it's such a lively detailed world to spend time in. Also, it basically invented motion-sickness-friendly movement with the 'Blink' teleportation! I'd also love to see any Deus Ex apart from Invisible War.

I'll second that <3

LukeRoss

I humbly request Max Payne series !!

CT Davis

Don't be so quick to discount third person though! Have you played Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice? It's fully played in third person and yet it's IMO one of the most immersive and emotional games existing in VR

LukeRoss

As long as its first person ill back any of them :)

Jonah

Thank you for reminding me :-)

LukeRoss

Omg the witcher is on the list. I wish i could vote 2M times 😋
