Gameplay on Medium settings (by Beardo Benjo)

YouTuber and VR veteran Beardo Benjo plays through a couple of missions on Medium settings, using a Rift S and an RTX 2080.

He also answers a lot of questions, gives his personal impressions about the mod, and shows the mod overlay and how to use it with the gamepad.

Highly recommended video and YouTube channel!

That Reshade's c.a.s sharpener is doing wonders in Skyrim VR. Really, that's night and day compared to other AA techniques. I hope it will be adapted to work with R.E.A.L RDR2VR as soon as possible. Clarity matters.

The newer VR fork of Reshade applies it to the eye textures and not the backbuffer, that's what they're referring to. The hold up is just that the build that they're trying is missing the Vulkan enabler (though I have no idea if that would still work or not)

Guys, don't waste your time with ReShade, it won't work. ReShade modifies the backbuffer, so only the image that appears on your monitor will be affected. What you see in the headset won't change at all, apart from the fps hit. I might add support for ReShade presets in the future, and have them applied to the correct point (the eye textures and not the backbuffer), but it's quite a low priority for the moment

I think you can also rename the dxgi.dll but I need to check what the default should be for RDR2

WIG

That.ight be because it is dx12 or Vulcan. It might need the normal reshade first selecting dx12 then add the other files on top!! I will test later

WIG

I think it is vr reshade

Any one tried this sharpening mod on either GTA or red dead vr mod? https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/njlwtx/have_you_tried_cas_contrast_adaptive_sharpener/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

You can also select another profile, then just change the "resolution scale" from x1.5 to x2.0 or x2.5. Game restart is requited after that.

I just posted this comment under that video, wondering if others tried this too so we can help eachother finding the best Ultra resolution setting while maintaining a reasonable fps :) What worked best for me (G2 Reverb, I9 9900, 2080 Super) was to select the Ultra graphics and then turn down graphical options until I was back at 70-75fps. The resolution difference between Ultra and Very High setting is big, Very High is still quite blurry in the distance. With Ultra everything is very sharp. I gladly sacrificed some graphical options over the higher resolution. Amazing mod.
