... and lots of gameplay from various missions in the game! Unfortunately the capture software used by Mike didn't allow for full frame rate apparently, but it's still lots of fun to watch!!! Be sure to subscribe to his channel so you don't miss other news :-)

I run from Oculus with Rift, I only get a big flat screen and not 3d vr..

I'm in a similar boat to Jamie it seems; got it to hook and run but the graphics are incredibly blurry, nothing like the videos, it's like I'm playing it on a Playstation 1. Running it on a Ryzen 5900x, 32gb 3600mhz 14 cas ram, Asus Rog Strix Formula MB, Asus 2080 Ti. I also had to run steam as administrator for social club related reasons or it wouldn't start at all, so perhaps it's overruling some of the visual injection? Happy to troubleshoot if I can be helpful.

Running Steam VR ,Rockstar Launcher....Game runs fine, however are the GFX suppose to look like this? Very Blurry, almost looks 240p.....My Specs are GTX 2070 Super,16GB ram,I7 6700k. I have tried Low to Very High and they all look the same...am i suppose to change something in GFX settings or is this how the game looks as of now?

This mod does not work with AMD graphics cards

There might be problems with your Windows installation. CHOICE is a standard command that should be present on every system

If you are using the Steam version of RDR2, have you made sure that "Use Desktop GameTheatre while SteamVR is active" is unchecked in the game properties page for Steam ?

Hi can someone help me please. I have followed the instructions and everything loads up in the headset however its just a big screen in front of me, its not VR. Is there something i need to press to enter VR?

Hi Helifax! You know what, I've been asking myself the same question many times during these months. RDR2 defaults to Vulkan, and it's always been slightly more stable and performant for me on my system, so instead of flipping a coin I decided to bet on the fact that in the coming years Rockstar would concentrate support and optimizations on this API. However, knowing what I know now and having witnessed how unfriendly Vulkan can be both for developers and users, I'm not so sure I would make the same choice. Also, other software houses seem to prefer DX12, so probably my next mods will be for DX12 games.

LukeRoss

Works great thank you so much for this... One question though, does this MoD work with GTA5 also or is that a completely separate MoD? If so where do I download that one?

James Robinson

I'm confused. I've installed the mod, gotten into vr on the menu, but the loading screen won't end. It just keeps loading forever

I get an error running the bat file. 'CHOICE' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Aborting Press any key to continue . . .

Steam is set to use SteamVR as output. In RDR2 I also chose SteamVR. I disabled motion reprojection through steamvr menu for the game, but still black screen.

Can't seem to get it to work through SteamVR (with my HP Reverb G2). All I get is a black screen (I only see the minimap and can hear everything). On my monitor everything renders great, but not in my headset. If I use OpenXR, it works, but I want to record gameplay with OBS and the only way I could record non stuttering gameplay is through steam vr monitor (which obviously won't work when using OpenXR.

I wonder... Why did you chose Vulkan and not DX12 for this mod?

Helifax

remember to compress the files with WIN RAR and extract them when its been put inside the folder of rdr2.

I got everything working fine, but my fps at the low setting is only 20-24. I have an 2070 so there gotta be something wrong. Can someone help me, i read that one guy got lik 80 fps with an 2080. Also i relised textures were at ultra even on low settings, but i cant change it if i read the Read.ME correctly

Tormod Brynestad

HELP please. Followed closely as per instructions but the mod won't hook to the game: the R.E.A.L banner isn't showing at start on the desktop window and there's no game's rendering in HMD (using Valve Index on Steam).

What do you need help with?

LukeRoss

Please don't delete questions when they are answered, otherwise other users won't be able to understand and benefit from the information! The question was how to get into 1st person mode, the answer is press 'V' on the keyboard

LukeRoss

It's not a priority, but it's certainly something I'll consider in the future ;-)

LukeRoss

Where is the troubleshooting support please? I need help lol

Guys, DO NOT USE widescreen resolutions!!! The resolution of the game window needs to be square. The farther you move away from a square aspect ratio, the more pixels your graphics card will need to render just to throw them away without them ever being visible in the headset

LukeRoss

That worked, thanks Alonzo! The resolution has to stay below 2560x1080 if you put 3080x1080 it reverts to the flat screen also, just in case anyone else wants to know! :-)

Do you think your Vulkan injector could ever support Reshade? The AMD CAS Sharpener has done wonders for something other VR games, I can imagine it really helping too with this one. The in-game sharpener really is lacking in comparison.

This solved this issue for me, hopefully it works for you. I originally had extract the files then copied them to the RD2 folder. Launched game and would not load in VR, just the Flat screen. I then extract the files directly to the RD2 folder and gave the folder Full Permissions, this all seems to have resolve the issue.

I installed it and RD2 displays in a flat screen on my Quest2 using Oculus wireless... is that normal? It does not fill the entire view zone...
