Irina's Happy Mistake 3

“Any luck?”Kate asked Tanya when she joined the rest of the Denali minus Irina and the Cullens minus Emmet, Joy and Laura who was with Seth and the other wolves in the Cullen’s living room.The group had been called together after Irina had seen Lauren, Rosalie, Seth and Lauren’s daughter Laura out hunting and the Cullen’s future went blank. It was obvious Irina went to the queens but no one knew what the outcome was because when it came to the royals they were immune to Alice’s gift. Tanya had been trying to get a hold of Irina since the Cullens had come and revealed the child’s origins but Irina had her phone off. They would have gone after her but Irina got a three day head start. Plus they weren’t sure how long she would be kept waiting to have an audience with the queens. It had been over a week and other than the other covens showing up they really didn’t have much of a plan on how to handle it other than to hope the guards would listen to their explanation.

“Her phone is still off. How about you Eleazar?”Tanya asked Eleazar.

“No new news. Just that she made it to the castle. If she got her audience with the queens I don’t know.”Eleazar told her.

“Why do you look concerned?”Carmen asked.

“Because my contact mentioned that for the past month there have been sighting of Isabella in the castle.”Eleazar was unsurprised by Carmen’s gasp of shock.

“Isabella is alive.”Carmen had assumed the woman was dead.

“My source hadn’t seen her but they mentioned that the queens have gotten the farm up and running.”Eleazar took that as enough proof Isabella was alive and at the castle.

“Who’s Isabella?”Kate asked.

“You don’t know who Isabella is?”Carmen would have thought being so old Kate would have known about her.

“I’ve never heard of her either.”Tanya said.

“Isabella is the queens’ daughter and the Volturi princess.”Eleazar told them.

“Did you know that there was a Volturi princess?”Esme asked Carlisle.

Carlisle nodded.”Yes she was well known around the castle and was seen often during trials.”

“If she was well known why don’t we know about her?”Kate would have expected Isabella to be mentioned if she was in the castle when Eleazar was there.

“I don’t know. It’s not like she has been kept a secret. Her presence was well known when she lived in the castle.”Eleazar had seen Isabella many times while he lived there.

“You mentioned the queens got the farm up and running what did you mean by that?”Rosalie didn’t understand why the queens would need a farm for anything.

“The queens raise livestock for Isabella to eat.”Eleazar told her.

“So she’s an animal drinker.”Tanya thought that was odd as the queens weren’t known to respect animal drinkers.

“No Isabella doesn’t drink their blood. Well she does but that’s because she eats the whole animal including the skin and bones.”Eleazar had seen her eat many different animals in his time at the castle.

“Wait does that mean she isn’t a vampire?”Lauren asked.

“I don’t think so because she has a heartbeat, can eat food and has bright orange eyes.”Carlisle had never figured out what she was.

“She has orange eyes?”Edward had never heard of such a thing.

“I’m not sure if they are naturally orange but I have never seen them a different color nor have I heard anyone else say they were different.”Eleazar didn’t think the color was false but didn’t know how Isabella could have eyes that color.

“If she’s not a vampire what kind of supernatural do you think she is?”Tanya didn’t know anything that had orange eyes.

“I don’t think anyone was brave enough to ask and the information wasn’t given freely by either Isabella or the queens.”Carlisle said.

“I researched her while I was in the castle and found no mentions of any vampire or shifter with orange eyes.”Eleazar had been upset he found nothing but no books or scrolls made mentioned of an orange eyed creature.

“If she isn’t a vampire or shifter does that mean she is some mythical creature we have never heard of?”Kate asked.

“The only way to know for sure is to ask her or the queens and I personally don’t recommend it.”Carlisle told them.

“What is she like?”Rosalie always loved a good mystery as focusing on something other than her own life gave her a break from the miserable situation she was in with the Cullens. It was just to bad she couldn’t go off with the Denali like they had asked her to many times. Carlisle would never allow that though. Nor would he allow her to talk about anything that was done to her or Emmett and Joy.

“Overall she is a very laid back, pleasant person. She got along well with the guards and the queens of course adore her. That didn’t mean that she was a pushover however. When push came to shove she was more ruthless than Athenodora and is credited with putting the queens on the throne. She was also instrumental in killing off the children of the moon.”Eleazar had seen Isabella’s brutality first hand and went out of his way to avoid her.

“If she was involved with the queens coming to power and killing the children of the moon then she must thousands of years old.”Alice didn’t understand how they hadn’t heard of her if that was true.

“I overheard the queens talking one day and Didyme made a comment about wishing they would have found Isabella together because she closest to Athenodora. I took that to mean that she was with Athenodora before she met the other two queens.”Carlisle said.

“Why haven’t we heard of her then?”Edward would have thought that someone would have mentioned Isabella.

Eleazar shrugged.”I don’t know. Like we said she wasn’t hidden and has been involved in every major conflict the Volturi have been involved with including taking the throne.”

“What was her role in overthrowing the Romanians?”Kate asked.

“I’m not exactly sure as the stories I have heard are vague. The common one being she was the reason the castle burned down and most of the Romanian army were killed. How she did it I don’t know.”Eleazar had asked people involved but they refused to tell him much.”The ones I talked to that were involved are very tightlipped when it comes to Isabella. It was beyond obvious that they respect her and are very protective of her.”

“You said that she was involved in every major conflict that involved the Volturi does that mean she was involved in the Mexican wars?”Jasper wondered what role Isabella played in his own life.

“I don’t know for sure but most likely as they happened before she went missing.”Eleazar had no doubt that Isabella was a part of ending the newborn wars.

“That’s another thing that doesn’t make sense. You said she went missing. Where was she this entire time?”Rosalie would have thought if Isabella went missing the queens would have done something to find her.

“Once again I don’t know. Just one day she was there the next she wasn’t. The only real reason anyone knew she was missing was because of the queens’ demeanor. Didyme was grief-stricken, Athenodora spent a week straight in the training room fighting dozens of guards at a time working out her anger and Sulpicia locked herself in the library refusing to let anyone enter except for Athenodora and Didyme for a month. Didyme spent most of her time in there with her or outside repairing her private garden where she ripped everything out of the ground inducing the grass in a fit of rage. I heard rumors that she spent most of that time sobbing.”Eleazar told them.

“Didyme ruined her personal garden?”Kate wasn’t sure she believed that. It was well known that the queen was obsessed with making her gardens perfect. For her to ruin even one flower let alone the entire garden was inconceivable.

“I wouldn’t have believed it either except for the fact that she had the guards remove everything for her and there was many witnesses to all the devastation.”Eleazar had been just as surprised when he heard.

“If she is back now where has she been?”Lauren wanted to know what kind of supernatural Isabella was that she got to keep a human body. It would nice to get hers back after she had to sacrifice it for the stupid child she was forced to have.

“No one knows and if they do they aren’t talking.”Carlisle said.

“I personally think that based on their reactions that Isabella was heavily injured in a fight and went away to heal. That or she willingly left her mothers and they were upset about her leaving. Although I doubt based on how affectionate they are with each other that Isabella would ever leave them willingly.”Eleazar didn’t think anything would keep Isabella from her mothers.

“Did anything happen at the time Isabella went missing?”Esme asked.

Eleazar took a moment to think about what had been going on when word of Isabella’s disappearance got to him.”Nothing major in the supernatural world but in the human world World War 1 was coming to an end.”

“Maybe she fought in the war.”Jasper suggested.”I mean it’s not unheard of for us to involve ourselves in human affairs.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised.”Carlisle thought that was exactly something Isabella would do.

“Do you think she is going to come here to confront us?”Edward was of the same thought as his mate. He wanted to know how she kept a human body for so long. Then he wanted to change back.

“I hope she doesn’t because she is the least likely to hear us out.”Eleazar told them.

“You think she will act without giving us a chance to plead our case?”Rosalie didn’t like that because she didn’t want anything to happen to Laura. The child was the completely innocent and Rosalie didn’t want her getting hurt. She wouldn’t mind if Edward and Lauren were killed though. They were horrible parents and Rosalie thought that Laura would be better off with the wolves. Seth was her main caretaker as it was and Rosalie thought the girl would have a happy life with her imprint watching over her.

“The queens see creating an immortal child as the worst transgression a vampire can commit. Sulpicia will have seen Irina’s memories and use that as proof of the crime. Isabella is the most dangerous out of any of the guards. She is swift and brutal with her punishments and is not one to be reasoned with only taking orders from the queens.”Eleazar said.

“Although I have on occasion seen Isabella give orders to the queens as well.”Carlisle added.

“What do you mean she gave orders to the queens?”Kate didn’t think the queens would take orders from anyone.

“I had been in the throne room for many trials during my stay there and it was rather common if Isabella was there to decide the matter for the queens. Sometimes going as far as overriding their decisions with her own. The queens not even arguing with her. In fact I personally think she is the one in charge of vampires and the queens are just figure heads.”Carlisle always thought Isabella had the real power in the castle.

“Are you saying that Isabella has control of the queens?”Tanya asked.

“I have seen the same things as Carlisle. The queens definitely defer to Isabella. I don’t know if it’s because of their bond or because she is more powerful than them but she did influence them.”Eleazar had the same experience as Carlisle in seeing the queens look to Isabella for direction.

“Now I really want to know what she is.”Kate wanted to know what type of supernatural Isabella was that the queens bowed down to her.

“If she really has that much influence then we should reach out to others who hate the queens and kill her when she comes here. Then the queens will be without a leader and we can overthrow them easily.”Edward thought this was the perfect chance for him to become a king.

“You want to overthrow the queens now?”Rosalie couldn’t wait to hear whatever convoluted plan Edward had come up with. She just hoped that it didn’t get her killed when Carlisle forced her to go along with it.

“No one is overthrowing the queens and you better not say anything like it in front of the rest of the group because they won’t take to kindly about you implicating them.”Tanya didn’t want anything to do with overthrowing the queens.

“They will more than likely join us.”Edward knew that all the groups that had responded to their call hated the queens as much as he did.”Maybe Carlisle can reach out to the Romanians again and see if they can give us more information on Isabella.”

“The Romanians will report you to the queens faster than anyone here if you tell them what you are thinking of doing.”Carmen had no doubt the 2 remaining kings and their pocket of subjects wanted nothing to do with fighting the Volturi. It was well known after their castle was burned down they all happily surrendered and never gave the queens any trouble since.

“The Romanians have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to get their revenge.”Carlisle said.

Rosalie rolled her eyes at Carlisle’s quick agreement to the plan.”Then why didn’t they come when you called them?”

“Watch your tone Rosalie.”Edward didn’t like Rosalie’s thoughts about him and his sire. He wished he could deal with her right them but there was too many people around to punish her.

“Rosalie makes a good point. If the Romanians are so desperate for revenge why didn’t they come?”Kate asked.

“I didn’t tell them that we were overthrowing the queens. I told them we were going to have a peaceful meeting with no violence. If I called them up now and told them our plan I’m positive they would join our cause.”Carlisle was sure that the kings would happily join a rebellion.

“We are not overthrowing the queens. You and Eleazar just got done telling us how dangerous Isabella was and that you didn’t know what type species she is. How do you think we could even defeat that kind of threat? Not that we want to.”Tanya wasn’t going to involve her coven in Edward’s scheme.

“We have many skilled warriors with us and an overwhelming amount of gifted vampires. If we banned together we could easily kill Isabella.”Alice was completely onboard with Edward’s plan.

“Plus you said she had a heartbeat and could eat food. That likely means she has a human body. We could hurt her with human weapons like guns and swords.”Jasper wasn’t sure about overthrowing the queens but would support his wife in doing so if that’s what she wanted.

“I know for a fact that you won’t be able to hurt her like that because I’ve seen her take a punch to the face from a vampire and it didn’t leave a mark.”Eleazar didn’t think any weapon could hurt Isabella.

“It doesn’t matter if she is immune to weapons she won’t be able to block our gifts.”Edward knew that he would have no problem defeating Isabella.

“If the entire castle can block your gift I bet Isabella can as well.”Tanya said.

“They have a gifted guard member that blocks the castle that’s why it doesn’t work. Isabella and the guards won’t have that protection.”Alice figured as soon as the guards left the castle she would have a vision of what they were going to do to all of them.

“How do you know that Isabella isn’t the one who gave them that immunity?”Carmen asked.

“She wouldn’t be allowed to leave the castle if she was.”Esme was positive the queens wouldn’t let whoever had that gift out of the castle where they were protected.

“Didn’t both Carlisle and Eleazar just say that Isabella had power over the queens? If that’s true then they couldn’t stop her from leaving.”Kate reminded them.

“It doesn’t matter if she is or not we can overpower her.”Edward was confident they could kill Isabella.

“We will never find out because we aren’t going to fight her.”Tanya told him.

“We are fighting her and you should join us or we won’t be so kind to you when we take over.”Alice threatened.

Kate laughed at the idea of the Cullens actually beating the Volturi.”You think you will actually be able to take over.”

“We are more than capable of taking over.”Carlisle knew that his coven was more than powerful enough to take the throne.

“I and my coven want no part of this plan. We are simply here for the child and Irina. Whatever moves you make on the guards and the queens are none of our business and we don’t want to hear any further discussions about it. If we do we will join our sister in Italy to speak to the queens of this treason.”Tanya was regretting the fact that they hadn’t just gone as soon as Edward had introduced them to the child. With the Cullens now planning to overthrow the queens it could put them in worse danger than they originally were.

“You would sell us out to the queens?”Lauren asked. She was fully supportive of taking out the queens because she wanted to take a throne for herself. Something that Edward would make sure happened. They had spoken about it many times before.

“Not only would every single member of my coven report you but all the vampires outside right now would as well.”Tanya was more than sure none of the covens that came wanted to fight the queens.

“That’s not true. They would side with us.”Carlisle knew that his friends would follow him into battle.

“Let’s find out.”Kate stood from her seat and made her way outside whistling to get everyone's attention. Once she had it she spoke.”Carlisle and his coven seem to think that all of you would side with them when they try to overthrow the queens. Something that they are now planning to do.”

“What are you talking about?”Siobhan asked.

Tanya pushed Carlisle out the door.“Well tell them Carlisle.”

“What is she talking about Carlisle?”Amun didn’t sign on to fight the queens.

Carlisle cleared his throat uncomfortably.”Well my family and I were talking and it was decided that since Isabella is most likely to come confront us that we kill her and then go after the queens.”

“Isabella is alive?!!”Liam was shocked to hear that.

“A friend of mine said that there have sightings of her for the last month in the castle and that the queens have got the farm up and running.”Eleazar told him.

“We agreed to stay because of the child. Not to die for your stupidity.”Senna knew exactly who and what Isabella was and there was no way she was going to fight the dragon. Especially when the dragon had always been extremely kind to them going as far as giving them blocks on their minds and buying a large part of the rain forest for them to live in. They also hunted together on occasion as the land was isolated enough for Isabella to be in her dragon form without the humans seeing her.

“We aren’t stupid.”Edward hated that the three amazons were immune to his gift. Something that he didn’t believe was the result of Zafrina’s gift.

“You are very stupid if you think you can kill Isabella.”Amun didn’t know exactly what happened during the battle with the Romanians but knew that whatever did put the fear of god in all those that encountered Isabella.

“If we band together we can easily kill her.”Alice knew they would succeed.

“It’s obvious that you know nothing about Isabella if you think it that this group could easily kill her.”Maggie knew they would be killed in seconds if they tried to attack Isabella.

“The Romanians put an army against her and she walked away without a scratch. They lost more than half their army and their stronghold and quickly surrendered after the incident. Not only did they surrender they have gone out of their way to stay on the queens’ good side and have reported many lawbreakers to the royals.”Siobhan had seen Isabella in action before and the woman was not to be trifled with.

“That story isn’t true because there is no way for anyone no matter what supernatural Isabella is to do something like that. The queens probably gave her credit so that they could use the myth to scare people.”Edward didn’t believe for a second one person did that much damage.

“I know what Isabella is.”Kachiri held up a hand to stop the questions.”No I will not tell you. What I will tell you is that Isabella is more than capable of doing what others claim she did. She is also capable of killing all of us faster than the first head falls off.”

“You need to tell us so we know how to beat her.”Jasper could plan better knowing what the threat they were fighting.

“Me and my mates will say nothing of Isabella as she is a dear friend and has earned our loyalty many times over. Unlike you who are trying to force us to be involve in treason.”Zafrina wouldn’t betray Isabella.

“You hate the Volturi there is no way you friends with the princess.”Lauren knew enough about the vampire world to know that the Amazons hated the royals.

“You know nothing little girl. We have nothing but respect for the queens and always have. It was their sires that we had problems with.”Senna had no love for Aro and Caius or their sidekick Marcus. The three were worse than the Romanians in her opinion. When they encountered the two queens the next time Athenodora and Isabella had been with them tracking a group of children off the moon. Senna and her mate had joined the hunt and the group became rather close. The only reason they didn’t go to Italy was because they weren’t comfortable leaving the forest and hated politics. Isabella did visit often and sometimes flew the queens with her.

“I’m not a little girl.”Lauren was insulted she was called that.

Benjamin wasn’t the only one who laughed.”Compared to the rest of us minus your coven you are a toddler. A toddler that has no understanding of our world.”

“Don’t speak to my mate like that.”Edward wasn’t going to stand for anyone disrespecting his mate.

“We are getting off topic.”Carlisle didn’t want any fights to break out.

“You’re right. The Amazons were just about to tell us what Isabella is so that we can kill her.”Alice said.

“We will tell you nothing.”Kachiri told her.

“Then you are no longer welcome here.”Edward didn’t want any traitors in his presence.”As a matter of fact if the rest of you aren’t going to join us you can leave as well.”

“Now wait a minute Edward don’t be hasty.”Carlisle shot Edward a look hoping he would read his mind and hear his idea of convincing the others individually.

Edward took a moment to go over Carlisle’s thoughts. His sire was right if they got each person alone he would easily be able to convince them.”Carlisle is right I was being hasty. You are all welcome to stay.”

“Thank you for being so gracious Edward.”Kate said sarcastically.

“You’re welcome.”Edward replied.

Rosalie rolled her eyes at his stupidity. It was quite obvious Kate was making fun of him. Seeing that everyone was breaking off in their covens to no doubt talk about what just happened Rosalie chose to use the opportunity to slip away from Carlisle, Edward, Alice, Jasper and Esme. She wanted to be far away from them when they made their plan. Making a move to the tree line Rosalie took off before anyone could stop her. As she was running she thought about Isabella. If the woman was as formable as Rosalie had been told then she should be able to easily kill off most of her coven. It was how to make sure Isabella knew that she wasn’t on their side that was the problem. Carlisle would likely force her to fight with them but she could maybe tell Isabella that she doesn’t want to do it in a way that didn't break Carlisle’s order to stay quiet. Coming to a stop at a cliffside Rosalie sat at the edge and let her legs dangle. The future was up in the air but Rosalie put her faith in the fact that Carlisle and the others would be defeated. If Rosalie could keep herself alive then maybe she could finally be free to live the life she always wanted. If she was lucky she would even find her mate. Just thinking about spending the rest of her life with her mate by her side no longer under Carlisle’s control made her smile. All she had to do to make that happen was to figure out how to get through the meeting with Isabella alive.
