Faceless Queen 2

“Why are you calling Eleazar to ask for information about a woman named Isabella?”Alice asked Rosalie. Rosalie stopped in her tracks knowing that getting to her room and calling Eleazar in private wasn’t going to happen. Changing course to the living room where the rest of the family minus Carlisle who was at work and Angela were Rosalie took a seat in one of the arm chairs. Looking around at her brothers and sisters sitting with their mates made the ache of loneliness come forth tenfold but she pushed it down. She didn’t want Jasper’s pity or Edward’s smugness. The boy thought having a mate meant that he had god’s favor and liked to bring up Rosalie’s lack of one as proof of her going to hell. A place he was sure he was going until he met Angela.

“Isabella is the lost Volturi queen.”Rosalie told her.

“There is only three queens.”Emmett said.

“Carlisle has a painting of them in his office. He told me about her.”Rosalie wished that he had told her more but that was why she was going to call Eleazar.

“What happened to her?”Fran Emmett’s mate asked.

Rosalie shrugged.”Carlisle didn’t know. All he said was one day she was there the next her throne was gone and she was never seen again.”

“So she just went missing one day?”Alice wondered what happened to the woman.

“Basically. Carlisle said they’re rumors of her being killed but he doesn’t believe them.”Rosalie didn’t believe them either.

“Did Carlisle tell you anything about her?”Jasper asked.

“He told me that she was a tortured soul and that it was common for people to kill themselves after having a conversation with her.”Rosalie still didn’t know if she truly believed that but Carlisle said he was tempted.

Edward picked up on Rosalie’s thought.”Carlisle tried to kill himself?”

“What are you talking about?”Esme had never heard of Carlisle being suicidal.

“Carlisle and Isabella had a conversation about religion. After it was over Carlisle was distraught and spent an hour in his room sobbing. He told me that he was so effected by Isabella’s words that he contemplated taking his own life.”Rosalie explained.

“Shit.”Emmett wouldn’t have thought his sire would be tempted to kill himself after one conversation.

“He said it was common for Isabella to affect people that way and that no one but the queens usually left a conversation with her without at least crying. I’m not sure how many people killed themselves but it seemed like something that happened more than once.”Rosalie had been known to be harsh to people but she never made then cry or feel suicidal. It made her want to talk to Isabella to experience a conversation that intense.

“You want to talk to the woman?”Edward couldn’t believe that Rosalie would want to put herself through that.

“I find her interesting. I mean all she used is words to get someone to kill themselves. It makes me wonder what she is like and what’s driving her. I don’t think someone just wakes up one day and decide to verbally eviscerate others. Something is driving her and I want to know what it is.”Rosalie felt almost desperate in her need to meet Isabella.

“I kind of want to meet her to.”Emmett said.

“Why would you want to meet her?”Fran wasn’t sure she wanted her mate around someone who caused people to comment suicide.

“I think it would be fun to watch her make a vampire cry.”Emmett would also like to learn how Isabella did it. That way he could make Edward cry.

Edward rolled his eyes at Emmett’s thoughts.“You’re not going to make me cry.”

“If Rosalie finds Isabella maybe I could get her to make you cry.”That would be the first thing Emmett asked Isabella if he ever met her.

“To find her I need more information. As I know none of you will want to be left out I’ll just call Eleazar now.”Rosalie pulled out her phone dialed Eleazar’s number and put it on speaker. He picked up on the third ring.

“Hello Rosalie this is a nice surprise.”Eleazar’s voice greeted over the line.

“Hello Eleazar, just a warning I have you on speaker phone.”Rosalie told him.

“I see. Is this an official call?”Eleazar asked.

“No, I was calling to ask for some information on a vampire Carlisle said you knew. The others wanted to know about them as well.”Rosalie hoped that Eleazar had more information than Carlisle.

“Who would that be?”Eleazar asked.

“I was wondering if you knew anything about the lost fourth queen Isabella.”Rosalie perked up when she heard gasps of shock and mutters of curse words in the background.”Are you alright?”

“Why do you want to know about Isabella?”Eleazar’s voice was strained.

“I saw a painting in Carlisle’s office that I had never seen before with her in it. I questioned Carlisle about her but he didn’t have much to say.”Rosalie told him.

“I see.”Eleazar said.

“I take it by your reactions that you know about her?”Rosalie didn’t think the Denali would sound so unsettled if they didn’t.

“I’m putting you on speaker.”Eleazar told her.

“Rosalie I urge you to immediately stop whatever investigation into Isabella that you have started. Bad things happen to those who gain her attention.”Tanya warned.

“What kind of things?”Rosalie was now even more intrigued by Isabella.

“Isabella was there when the Volturi came for our mother. We were cocky and thought that we could easily defeat the Volturi guards and kill her and Athenodora to save our mother. We were young and put too much stock in Kate’s gift. It was when everyone’s attention was on the child being burned that we attacked. Seconds after I gave the signal all three of us were limbless. We didn’t even see her move. It was like we blinked and our limbs were gone.”Tanya told them.

“Fuck.”Emmett didn’t think a vampire could move that fast.

“How did you make it out alive?”Alice asked.

“Queen Athenodora vouched for us.”Irina said.

“Why would the warrior queen vouch for you?”Edward didn’t think Athenodora would vouch for anyone.

“I have no clue but I do know that Athenodora has some type of power over Isabella because when the queen made her decision Isabella didn’t even argue. She just slipped her sword back in it’s sheath and returned to the queen’s side. Didn’t say another word.”Tanya told them.

“I think I actually would have preferred death to the looks she was giving us after we were pardoned.”Kate said.

“Wait did you say sword?”Jasper asked.

“Yes, Isabella has some type of sword that can cut though not only a vampire’s body but a werewolf as well. When I lived in the castle she was known to slice off random vampire’s limbs for no reason. You could just be walking by and she would take a leg or an arm.”Eleazar told them.

“Why is she so vicious?”Rosalie knew there was story there.

“No one really knows. She wasn’t one to speak that often and when she did it wasn’t pleasant. Well except to the other queens. They all enjoyed Isabella’s company very much. Always fighting over who got to spend time with her.”Eleazar said.

“If the queens were so attached to her why did she stop being a queen?”Rosalie couldn’t figure that part out.

“Once again no one really knows and even if someone did they wouldn’t say anything for fear of retribution.”Eleazar told her.

“Carlisle mentioned that Isabella possibly had a gift. Did you ever read her?”Rosalie wanted to know what abilities Isabella had.

“I was asked once to use my gift on her by Athenodora. I of course was petrified to do it but I obeyed.”Eleazar said.

“What did you find out?”Alice was starting to understand why Rosalie was so interested in Isabella. The woman was a mystery.

“This conversation stays between both our covens. You are not to repeat anything I say to you. If you do I will deny ever telling you this.”Eleazar told them.

Rosalie was on the edge of her seat.”We understand.”

“When I used my gift on her I found nothing. That disappointed Athenodora so she had me take Isabella’s hand as it enhances my gift. When I took her hand it was warm and her skin and flesh were soft. I didn’t say anything about it I just confirmed my gift didn’t work and went on my way.”Eleazar told them.

“Are you saying that Isabella isn’t a vampire?”Rosalie hadn’t seen that coming.

“I don’t know if she is or isn’t but I have seen her drinking blood and her eyes are red. I just know that when I touched her she was warm and it felt like she had a human body.”Eleazar said.

“What the fuck?”Fran wasn’t sure what to think about that.

“How is she still human if she was born before the Egyptians were turned?”Rosalie didn’t understand how Isabella would still have a human body.

“Maybe it’s part of her gift. Her body stayed human while she was given vampire abilities.”Esme suggested.

“I have witnessed her do many feats that put her abilities above those of a regular vampire. Especially during the war with the children of the moon. There are eye witness accounts of her killing dozens of them single handily without any help. She was also known to be a better tracker than Dimitri and is the reason there are no more children of the moon left. She found every place they tried to hide.”Eleazar told them.

“So she has a human body and vampire abilities. What do you think she is?”Alice asked.

“I think Esme’s guess is probably right. I mean she drinks blood and has red eyes. The girl is at least partially a vampire.”Kate said.

“Whatever she is I recommend that you forget about her. We have been living in a peaceful world the last thing we need is Isabella resurfacing and retaking her throne. If that happened I predict there will be a lot of death.”Tanya warned them.

“You realize after everything you have told us that all of us are now interested in Isabella.”Emmett was going to help Rosalie find her.

“Yeah this is the greatest mystery ever. There is no way we are leaving it alone.”Alice was already planning on reaching out to Peter and Charlotte to ask them what they could find out.

“When she comes for you will you please leave our names out of it?”Irina asked.

“Don’t worry we will make sure she doesn’t go after you.”Fran assured them.

“It just shows how young and naive you are to think that you could get Isabella to do anything.”Tanya said.

“We aren’t naive. We know what we are getting into.”Edward wanted to find Isabella to ask her how she stayed human this whole time. That way he could have it done to himself and his mate.

“I think this is where we say our goodbyes. I’m asking you not to reach out to us again about Isabella as we do not want to be involved in your quest to find her.”Tanya told them.

“No problem and thank you for telling us what you did.”Rosalie would respect the Denali’s wishes and not contact them about this again. Not that she needed to as they gave her some very good information on Isabella.

“Goodbye.”Tanya said.

“Bye.”Rosalie replied. Staring at the blank phone screen she tried to think about what to do with the information they just received.

“Alright so how are we going to find Isabella?”Emmett asked.

“I’m going to call Peter and Charlotte. See if they can find out anything or if Peter’s gift could tell us something.”Alice knew that Peter’s gift could be focused on a specific subject where as hers could not.

“That’s a good idea. I’ll reach out to a few of my less savory contacts. Someone as violent as Isabella wouldn’t have just dropped off the face of the earth.”Jasper figured someone like Isabella was involved in illegal activities.

“On the painting she is wearing armor with different symbols on it. I don’t know what the symbols mean but they seem important.”Rosalie felt like translating the symbols was the key to finding out where Isabella was.

“I can help you research them.”Angela volunteered. She liked when she had a chance to help the family as she usually couldn’t because she was human.

“I’ll help as well.”Fran said.

“I’m going to go through the books Carlisle has about the war with the children of the moon. Eleazar said there were many accounts of her deeds maybe there will be mention of her.”Edward wished they had someone to question but until they did he would compile all the information on Isabella he could.

“I’ll read through some to.”Emmett usually hated to read but would make an exception this time because he would be learning about a human with vampire abilities killing werewolves.

“Alright everyone focus on your tasks and let us know if you find anything.”Rosalie turned her attention to Angela and Fran.”Fran, Angela check out the painting in Carlisle’s room. Maybe you will see something I didn’t.”

“Got it.”Fran motioned for Angela to follow her out of the room.

“I’m excited to find out what kind of fighter Isabella is.”Emmett wondered when they met if Isabella would train him.

“A very good one if she was able to take the Denali sisters’ limbs.”Alice said as she followed Emmett and Edward out of the room.

“I want to know about her sword.”Jasper was a lover of weapons and the idea of a sword that could hurt vampires and werewolves made him excited to find out how it was made.

Rosalie watched them all go feeling excited that she was getting help solving the mystery that was Isabella. She wasn’t sure if the woman would be happy about being found but Rosalie would deal with that when the time came. Now she was going to focus on the things that she had learned about Isabella. Her having a human body was very surprising. Rosalie wasn’t sure how it would be possible to be a vampire with a human body. She believed Eleazar was telling the truth. She just didn’t know how it could happen. The only thing that made sense was that Isabella had a gift. If she did Rosalie wondered if the gift could affect others or did it just affect Isabella. If it effected others Rosalie was going to ask if Isabella would help her become human. If she did it would give Rosalie the chance to fulfill her lifelong dream of being a mother. The only way to find out if it could happen would be to find Isabella. Something that couldn’t be done sitting in a chair daydreaming. Grabbing her phone Rosalie stood and made her way to her room with thoughts of blonde haired babies on her mind.
