“What do you mean you don’t have the authority to keep these people out of my room?”Bella asked the nurse in frustration. She was laying on a hospital bed in a private room after Tanya had driven her to the hospital. Not the hospital that was minutes away from the restaurant a hospital that was in the middle of nowhere very far away of her home. It that weren’t stressful enough instead of being brought to the emergency room Bella had been put in a private room that was obviously not required to treat a broken hand. To top everything off Rosalie refused to leave her side and along with Tanya, Kate and Irina all crowded around her bed. Bella had called the nurse numerous times to remove them but the woman claimed that it wasn’t her call.

“I mean that my boss told me to let them stay.”The nurse told her.

“I’m a lawyer and know for a fact that it’s against the law to allow people to know about my medical condition without my permission. Do you really want a lawsuit on your hands?”Bella wasn’t bluffing. If Rosalie didn’t leave and take her cousins with her she was going to sue.

“I’m sorry ma’am it’s out of my hands.”The nurse seemed apologetic but Bella wasn’t moved.

“Then summon whoever hands it’s in because I refuse to be treated with these people in my room.”Bella huffed when the nurse walked away without saying a word. Bella tried to snatch her good hand away from Rosalie.”Will you please stop touching me?!”

Rosalie held onto the hand.“I’m trying to comfort you.”

“If you really wanted to comfort me you would leave this room and never contact me again.”Bella said.

“Why are you acting so crazy?”Rosalie asked.

“Let’s see. I broke my hand slapping you in the face something that shouldn’t be possible, then I try to take myself to the hospital but you send my ride away. If that wasn’t enough your cousins basically kidnapped me and took me to a hospital in the middle of nowhere where I have no means to get home. Oh and don’t forget the fact that I have no signal on my cell phone so even if I wanted to I can’t call anyone to help me. I think in this situation I’m allowed to act anyway I want.”Bella thought they were lucky she hadn’t attacked anyone yet.

“Technically we didn’t kidnap you you got in our car willingly.”Kate held up her hands and backed away when Bella glared at her.”Not that it matters.”

“Why won’t you four leave me alone?”Bella couldn’t figure out why these people were so interested in her.

“We feel responsible for your injury and want to make sure you are alright.”Irina was only partially lying. They really did want to make sure Bella was alright but more importantly they wanted to get Bella more comfortable with Rosalie so that she would agree to spend time with her in the future.

“I’ll tell you what. I’ll get Tanya’s number and text you all once I’m done and let you know. That way you don’t have to stick around.”Bella suggested.

“I’m not leaving you.”Rosalie wasn’t going to abandon her injured mate.

“For fucks sake. Why couldn’t you have been a jack ass after I had those three glasses of wine I was planning on consuming.”Bella grumbled.

“I told you that you didn’t need to be nervous talking to me. I already planned on making you my wife. After you change a few things of course.”Rosalie opened her arms when Bella jumped at her pleased that she was getting a hug.

Bella struggled in Rosalie hold trying to get free to hit the woman.”Let me go so I can punch you!”

“Why are you so set on punching me?”Rosalie didn’t understand why Bella wanted to get violent with her.

“Because you are an asshole who needs to be put in their place and as words don’t seem to work I have to use force.”Bella pushed as hard as she could to get Rosalie to let her go but it was no use.”Seriously Rosalie what are you? Whatever it is isn’t human.”

“Alright Rosalie let Bella go and Bella please do not hit Rosalie no matter how tempting it is. None of us want you to hurt your good hand.”Tanya didn’t like the fact that Bella knew of their differences but with the way she and Rosalie were getting along someone would have to tell her before she did something extreme to figure it out.

“I won’t hit her if she stops touching me and keeps her mouth shut. As matter of fact she should just leave the building.”Bella didn’t want Rosalie in the same town as her let alone the same room.

“I told you I am not leaving you here while you are injured.”Rosalie took a deep breath inhaling Bella scent before releasing her and retaking her hand in her own.

Bella tried to pull her hand away again.“Give me my hand back.”

“Would you rather I hold your body instead?”Rosalie was more than willing to hold Bella in her arms.

“I would rather you leave me the fuck alone.”Bella hoped that this incident would give her enough of a case to get that restraining order. She would have already involved the cops if her phone worked.

Before Rosalie could argue further a doctor walked in the room.”Hello everyone.”

“Good Carlisle you are here. Bella broke her hand and needs you to fix it.”Rosalie was happy her father had finally showed up because she was worried about the way Bella’s hand looked.

“You must be Bella. Hello I’m Carlisle. Rosalie’s adopted father.”Carlisle didn’t hold his hand out for Bella to shake as one of hers was hurt and Rosalie was holding the other.

Bella looked Carlisle over carefully coming to the conclusion that Carlisle like Rosalie and the sisters were not human as they all looked very much alike.”Nice to meet you Carlisle.”

“Let’s take a look at that hand of yours.”Carlisle gently held Bella’s hurt hand in his own turning it over to examine it.”I think you are right about it being broken. To know for sure we need to do an X-ray.”

“That won’t hurt her will it?”Rosalie wasn’t that knowledgable when it came to human medicine but knew that X-rays dealt with radiation and radiation wasn’t good for humans to be exposed to.

Carlisle shook his head.”Not at all.”

“You can X-ray Bella’s hand then.”Rosalie told him.

“Are you seriously trying to make medical decisions for me?”Bella wanted to say she couldn’t believe Rosalie would do such a thing but it was just like Rosalie to think she had some kind of control over Bella.

“I need to make sure that everything you do is safe. If that means making medical decisions then I will.”Rosalie opened her arms again when Bella lunged at her for another hug.

“I will kill you Rosalie!!”Bella yelled as she used her index finger on her injured hand to poke Rosalie in the eye.

Rosalie released Bella and rubbed her eye.”What the hell Bella?! Why did you poke me in the eye?”

“It was the only way I could think of to hurt you.”Bella figured regardless of what Rosalie was her eye would be vulnerable.

Tanya wrapped her arm around Bella and pulled her away from Rosalie.”How about I escort Bella to her X-ray.”

“I think that’s a good idea.”Kate knew that if they didn’t get Rosalie away from Bella that Bella would likely hurt herself more in her quest to bring Rosalie pain. Though Kate was very impressed that Bella thought to go for Rosalie’s eyes.

“I should take Bella that way she is protected incase anything goes wrong.”Rosalie was the only one who could keep Bella safe.

“If anyone needs protection it’s you from me.”Bella would eventually find a way to hurt Rosalie. It was just going to take a lot of trial and error.

“I know it’s hard to keep your hands off me but I don’t think it’s appropriate to do more than hug in front of others.”Rosalie wasn’t a prude she just wasn’t comfortable with public affection other than chaste kisses and hugs.

“The only reason I would ever want my hands on you would be to strangle you!”Bella would never voluntarily touch Rosalie unless it was to bring her pain.

“How about that X-ray.”Carlisle suggested. He had heard about Bella’s dislike of Rosalie but hadn’t thought it was as extreme as he had just witnessed.

“Let’s go Bella.”Tanya didn’t wait for a reply and just lifted Bella off the floor and carried her out the room.

“Wait!”Rosalie made a move to go after them only to be held back by Kate and Irina.

“No you don’t.”Kate said.

“I need to be with Bella.”Rosalie told her.

“You need to give Bella a chance to cool off before she hurts herself trying to hurt you.”Irina didn’t think that Bella was going to give up trying to hurt Rosalie anytime soon.

“I bet she tries something after getting a cast.”Kate predicted that Bella was going to use it as weapon once it was in place.

“Definitely.”Irina agreed.

“I know that she must be sexually frustrated being in my presence but she needs to deal with that in a healthier way than resorting to violence.”Rosalie didn’t want to jump into a sexual relationship until she found out Bella’s history to make sure the human didn’t have any diseases.

”You honestly can’t be this dimwitted.”Kate hadn’t really believed her sisters when they said that Bella hated Rosalie. Seeing them interact however it was obvious that Bella couldn’t stand Rosalie.

“I’m not dimwitted.”Rosalie was highly insulted being called such thing.

“Rosalie your mate can’t stand you because every sentence you speak to her is insulting.”Irina was surprised Bella hadn't started screaming bloody murder when Rosalie blocked her from getting into the ride share.

“I have never insulted Bella. If anything she has insulted me many times.”Rosalie had always been polite to Bella. Bella on the other hand was incredibly rude.”That being something that I am going to work with her on.”

“Rosalie we have been over this. You need to get out of the mindset that Bella is going to be some docile housewife who bends to your every whim. She is her own person who will not deal with your caveman views and will not settle for anything other than you respecting her. That means you have to get over yourself and any ideas you have about the perfect mate because Bella is definite not going to change to fit whatever role you picked out for her.”Irina knew for a fact Bella wouldn’t want to be a housewife. The girl had worked hard to get were she was in life and wouldn’t give up to be a trophy wife.

“Yeah I looked Bella up and based on some of the cases she took and won I doubt that a fighter like her would give up her life for anyone.”Kate had read a bunch of articles on Bella’s achievements and didn’t think she was the type of woman who would throw away all that hard work for the chance to be a housewife.

Before Rosalie could say anything she heard her brother in the hallway.”Edward’s here.”

“Let’s go meet him.”Irina said.

“I want to know what Bella is thinking.”Rosalie wanted to know so she could use the information to get Bella to see her side of things.

”Of course you would want Edward to use his gift on your mate. A gift you complain about constantly.”Kate had been present for many of Rosalie’s angry rants about Edward’s gift being invasive.

Rosalie ignored Kate when she saw Edward.”Good you’re here. Now you can tell us what Bella is thinking.”

“Where its she?”Edward wasn’t there to help Rosalie with her mate. He was there to make sure the human wasn’t any kind of threat to their family.

“She is with Carlisle and Tanya getting an X-ray.”Irina told him.

“Let’s go check on them.”Rosalie was getting anxious being away from her mate.

Kate sighed.”I don’t think that’s a good idea.”

“I don’t care what you think. Bella could need me.”Thinking about Bella being hurt worse than she was had Rosalie running at human pace to get to her mate.

“Rosalie slow down.”Irina yelled out as she, Kate and Edward rushed after her.

Rosalie didn’t stop until she found Carlisle and Tanya who were in a room with computer screens and light boxes and a large window showing the view of another room with an X-ray machine hovering over Bella who laying on a bed with her arm stretched out.”Is she ok?”

“Minus confirming her hand is broken she seems perfectly fine.”Carlisle told her.

“Edward what is she thinking about?”When her brother didn’t answer right away Rosalie turned her attention to him seeing a look of awe on his face.”What’s wrong?”

“I can’t hear her.”Edward had never encountered anyone whose mind he couldn’t hear.

“What do you mean you can’t hear her?”Irina asked.

“I mean my gift doesn’t work on her.”Edward told her.

“That means she must have some kind of gift.”Carlisle concluded.

“We will have to have her meet Eleazar soon.”Tanya said.

“Of course my mate would be gifted.”Rosalie wasn’t surprised that her mate turned out to be one of the rare people who had a gift.

Edward growled hearing Rosalie call Bella her mate.”She isn’t your mate!”

“She is my mate.”Rosalie knew without a doubt Bella was her mate. She felt the pull.

“She is not your mate she’s mine.”Edward jumped out of the way when Rosalie lunged for him.

“How dare you try and claim my mate!!!”Rosalie went for him again this time being able to grab his leg and throw him through the wall. She rushed to go after him but was immediately held back by two pairs of arms.

“How dare you try to claim mine!”Edward shook off the hit and rushed to Rosalie swinging his fist at her face only for his hand to be caught and electricity to flow throughout his body.

“What the fuck is going on?”Bella asked as she rushed into the room after hearing a crashing sound.

“Bella my love don’t worry I will keep Rosalie away from you.”Edward declared as he struggled to get to his feet.

“What?!”Bella didn’t know what the boy was talking about.

“Don’t worry I will make sure Rosalie is properly punished for making a false claim on you.”Edward was going to make Rosalie regret ever speaking to Bella let alone claiming her.

Rosalie growled.“It’s your claim that’s false.”

“Yeah I don’t know who you are and how you are related to all these people but I think I need to make something clear. Not only does Rosalie not have a claim on me neither do you.”Bella turned her attention to Tanya.”Would you please give me a lift to Seattle Hospital. I have been very patient with all of you but I don’t want to be involved with whatever this is.”

“Of course Bella.”Tanya thought that getting Bella out of the situation was the best idea at this point.

“Bella you can’t leave until Carlisle fixes your hand.”Rosalie shrugged to get out of Irina and Tanya’s grasped.

“I think that Carlisle has more important things to deal with than my hand like explaining that huge hole in the wall to those people that are rushing towards us right now.”Bella didn’t want to stick around for the fallout from whatever happened to create such destruction.

“Then I will go with you.”Edward wasn’t going to let Bella out of his sight knowing that she was hurt.

“You aren’t going anywhere with Bella.”Rosalie wasn’t going to allow it.

“Neither of you are going anywhere with me and Rosalie I would like to formally tell you that there will be no second date. Please will you and your family leave me alone?”Bella never wanted to see any of them ever again.

“I can’t leave you alone now that I have found you.”Edward told her.

“If I see any of you hanging around I will get the police involved. I’ve dealt with stalkers before and know how to use the law to force you out of my life.”In Bella’s line of work stalkers were a dime of dozen. Be it them stalker her or her clients.

“Who has been stalking you?”Rosalie would kill them.

”You have been stalking me and it ends now. No more gifts, flowers, dates or business meetings. You and I are done.”Bella turned her attention to Edward making sure to look him in the eye.”I don’t what your malfunction is but you get the same warning. Don’t contact me in any way. Not even an email.”

“But Bella..”Edward tried to make a move to get to Bella but was cut off by Kate’s hand on his shoulder.

“You stay right where you are.”Kate wasn’t going to let Edward close to the human.

“Carlisle what happened?”Bella’s nurse asked when she and five other people joined the group.

“That’s my cue to leave. Tanya can we go?”Bella asked.

“Of course Bella.”Tanya let go of Rosalie and wrapped her arm around Bella to protect her from Edward and Rosalie.

“Wait Bella!!”Rosalie tried to shrug off Irina but the blond tightened her grip.

“My love come back.”Edward called out to them.

Bella ignored the pair and put her body as close to Tanya’s as she could. Her gut told her that Tanya was the only person who could protect her from the others. Walking with the blond Bella thought about everything that had happened. It was quite obvious that Tanya, her sisters, Rosalie and her family were not human. What they were Bella wasn’t sure nor did she care. What she cared about was them leaving her alone. How to do that she wasn’t sure. Irina had been pushing for her to give Rosalie another chance so she probably wouldn’t be helpful. She couldn’t trust Carlisle as he was Rosalie’s father so he would be on her side. Kate she didn’t know that well so Bella didn’t know her motives. Tanya was the only one left and she seemed keen on keeping Bella safe. Bella hated to have to rely on anyone but it would be necessary for her to have allies to keep herself safe. Her safety definitely being on the line because two non humans who could put a large hole in the wall were trying to claim her. Bella didn’t know how to protect herself as was proven when she tried to hurt Rosalie and broke her hand. Bella would have to figure out a way to get Tanya to reveal their weaknesses so she would be ready for when one of them came for her. The pair didn’t seem the type to give up when they wanted something and Bella wanted to be prepared.
