“So what does the Assassin usually do to get ready for their fights?”Rosalie asked Jane. The pair along with Bella and the Denali sisters were taking a tour of Athenodora and Caius’ personal military museum. It contained all kinds of artifacts to include weapons, armor, uniforms, battle plans and other items to do with various civilization’s defenders. Kate had even found a couple things that were related to tribes from her human life. Rosalie had never seen Kate so emotional and had led Bella and Jane away from her so that her sisters could console her in private. Even now Kate’s eyes were a little misty but she was back to being her usual happy self.

“Well for this fight Queen Didyme had special robes made and commissioned a new mask so the Assassin will need to change.”Jane smiled seeing Bella’s eye roll.”You know your mother just wants you to look your best.”

“You don’t want a new robe or mask?”Irina asked Bella earning a head shake in reply.

“I personally think you should go over the top with how you dress. Make a huge statement to remind the Cullens how much better you are than them.”Kate was still feeling a little bit emotional after seeing the items that were related to her human years but was planning on fully indulging in the memories and feelings when she was in private.

“Why do they wear a purple robe?”Tanya had always wondered why Bella wore a purple robe when everyone else wore red.

“Even though they haven’t officially stepped into the role the Assassin is the Volturi princess. Once Rosalie claims her title of princess consort she will also be given a purple robe to wear for formal occasions and political functions.”Jane explained.

“How come you don’t wear purple?”Rosalie wasn’t opposed to wearing matching robes with Bella. It was just another way she had of claiming Bella publicly. Especially because Bella kept her mating marks covered.

”It didn’t really matter to me. The Assassin is a very private person so we haven’t been that open about our mate bond. Now that you are involved and the Assassin will have to come forward I will likely change to purple.”Jane didn’t mind changing her robe color. It had just never been important before because she and Bella didn’t like people knowing about their relationship. As it was the only way for Rosalie to be protected Jane was more than willing to go public with her bond to Bella.

“We don’t have to go public with our relationship.”Rosalie sighed when Bella shrugged.”I mean it. If you aren’t comfortable with the attention then I am more than happy to keep our relationship private.”

“People knowing about your relationship with not only the Assassin but the royals as well is the only way to keep you safe.”Jane told her.

“How come?”Tanya asked.

“Rosalie is a member of the Cullens. They are a very hated coven. With Rosalie living in the castle it stands to reason she would be a target to those who would wish to show their displeasure.”Jane fully expected someone to try something with Rosalie.

“I would love to see how the Assassin would react to someone messing with Rosalie.”Kate bet if someone even dared to say something negative about Rosalie Bella would torture them for weeks before she finally killed them. If they actually laid their hands on Rosalie Kate couldn’t even imagine what Bella would do. She would love to watch the punishment though.

“The Assassin doesn’t put up with anyone being disrespectful to those they care about.”Jane had seen many examples of Bella beating and killing people who thought it smart to verbally or physically attack Jane, Alec or the royals. It was one of the reasons Bella wasn’t allowed in the throne room during trials. Even though Caius requested her presence as the king enjoyed watching Bella in action.

“I bet.”Tanya could easily see Bella resorting to violence to deal with anyone who disrespected her family.

“Other than the change of outfit what else does the Assassin do to get ready for a fight?”Rosalie liked the fact that Bella would defend her honor. Liked it so much that thinking about it made her want drag Bella back to their bedroom to get her help in relieving the ache between her thighs. Her reaction confused her as Rosalie had never thought she would be the type of person that would want to be the damsel in distress being saved by the handsome prince. Or in her and Bella’s case the damsel being saved by the beautiful princess.

“They don’t really do much to get ready. If it’s a mission they go over what needs to be done and who the enemy is but mostly they don’t do anything special.”Jane said.

“I would thought they did something cool like sacrifice a bull to the goddess of the hunt.”Kate would have thought the Silver Assassin would have an epic pre battle ritual.

Irina rolled her eyes.”Of course you would.”

“Are you excited about tomorrow?”Tanya asked Bella earning a nod.

“I think we are all excited about tomorrow.”Rosalie knew she was.

“It’s going to fun to watch.”Kate was very excited to see what Bella would do to the Cullens.

“The Assassin plans on putting on quite the show for everyone.”Jane figured that Bella’s fight with the Cullens would be talked about for centuries to come.

“I just wish I could have fought someone.”Kate would have volunteered if she had known about it.

“You don’t need to be fighting anyone.”Tanya once again shot that idea down. Something she knew would be a common theme in the future because now that Kate had trained with the Silver Assassin herself her sister felt that she was invincible.

“Not fighting this time will give more time to better my skills so I put on bigger show for everyone.”Kate figured with more training from Bella she would be able to make her next fight that much more exciting for people to watch.

“I want to see how the people auditioning for a guard position do.”Rosalie was curious to see what kind of skill level people had when trying out for the guard so she knew how she compared to them. That and it would show her how much training she would need before she could ask to become part of the guard herself.

“Caius was the one who picked them so they should have some kind of talent.”Jane told her.

“If he is the one who picked them then I know we won’t be disappointed.”Kate expected Caius to pick out some good fighters because he wouldn’t waste his time on someone who wouldn’t entertain him.

“Is there some kind of prize for the winners of the other fights?”Irina asked.

“As they are all guard members the winner of the fight gets a two weeks vacation away from the castle.”Jane said.

“That is a nice prize.”Tanya knew how busy the guards were so to have two weeks to travel without having to worry about being called upon for duties was a very valuable.

“I bet a lot of people volunteered to fight.”Kate would have if she was a guard and that was the reward for winning.

“They always have people lining up to compete in any of the competitions the royals arrange.”Before Jane had met Bella she was one of those people. Now she had a lot more privileges being mated to the Volturi princess. Her brother did as well.

“Do you and the Assassin travel?”Rosalie had always wanted to travel to different places but wasn’t sure how that would work with Bella always wearing a mask.

“We do but usually to places that there a festivals or other kinds of events that doesn’t make the Assassin wearing a mask look out of place.”Jane had many good memories of trips Bella and her took together.

“That makes sense.”Tanya wouldn’t want Bella to feel uncomfortable with the attention that would come with people seeing her wearing her mask.

“We had a great time at the Day of the Dead celebration in Mexico City the one time we went. As a matter of fact we were planning on going back eventually.”Jane and Bella had enjoyed all the costumes and mixing in with the crowd were they didn’t stick out and no one knew who they were.

“That would be a fun thing to go to.”Rosalie would love to go to that with Bella.

“The Assassin’s shield blocks the sun from affecting vampires so we were able to spend the whole day celebrating with everyone else.”Jane told them.

“Wait the Assassin can make it so a vampire can go out in the sun without sparkling?”Kate asked.

Jane nodded.”When they were human they could as well.”

“Why did we never know that then?”Rosalie would have thought if Bella could block the sun when she was human then her former coven would have been aware of it.

“I’m not sure but we were exposed to the sun after I rescued them and not only I but the other guards with me weren’t affected by it at all.”Jane had realized just how extraordinary Bella was when she had discovered she had a gift.

“That means you guys can go anywhere you want and not have to worry about being exposed.”Irina had always hated the fact that she couldn’t visit certain places because she had to worry about the sun.

“It has given us not only the freedom to go anywhere we want but it has been helpful when we are out on missions.”Jane and Bella had used her gift to be able to ambush many of their targets that were holed up in a location waiting for the sun to go down.

“I can see how that would be helpful.”Tanya said.

“Would you be willing to take me some places I’ve always wanted to go?”Rosalie asked Bella earning a nod of the head in reply.”Thank you Assassin.”

“Maybe we could travel with you guys as well.”Kate would love to be able to explore the world without restrictions.

“We will have to plan something after the tournament.”Jane was more than happy to include Bella’s new friends on their future trips.

“We’ll have to plan someplace we all want to go.”Rosalie was very excited to travel and didn’t mind including the sisters. They obviously were very fond of Bella and Bella seemed to like them just as much so it wouldn’t a problem for her to include people that Bella was comfortable with to experience new places with them.

“I’ve always wanted to New York for pride and see the parade and go to the many parties.”Irina had never got to attend any of the pride events and as a lesbian who would have been killed or worse if she had been found out during her human years always wanted to go.

“That would be fun. What do you think Assassin?”Rosalie would love to go to a pride parade. She would have never been allowed to when she was a member of the Cullens and now that she was finally with Bella she would be proud to show off her mate to the world. Earning another nod from Bella she smiled.”Then we will have to go to the next one.”

“The Assassin has some different masks to wear for things like that so it won’t be a problem for them to blend in.”Jane knew that Bella hated the more decorative masks that made her look less intimidating but would wear them so they could attend events.

“I would like to see them sometime.”Rosalie was very interested in seeing Bella’s collection of masks as she had a feeling she had a bunch of different styles.

“They are kept in their closet in our bedroom with their robes and other clothes.”Jane told her.

“They wear clothing other than robes?”Kate had thought that all Bella wore were her guard robes.

“Of course. The Assassin is actually known to wear many different outfits when they aren’t attending their duties. The only reason they have worn their robes since coming back from America is because there are a bunch of visiting people in the castle and they want to make their presence known. That and it wouldn’t do good for their reputation if someone saw them wearing sweat pants, an oversized hoodie and a pair of slippers with corgis on them.”Jane had bought the slippers for Bella for Christmas as the dangerous vampire loved the dogs and was known to watch videos of them on her phone.

“Yeah I don’t think I would be afraid of the Assassin if that was my first impression of them.”Irina wouldn’t have believed that the Assassin was that tough if the first time she saw them was in a pair of slippers with dogs on them.

“Exactly so when we have people visit the castle they stay in their robes.”Jane thought Bella looked adorable in her lounge clothing and loved seeing her wear it.

“Speaking of clothing. I only have what I bought when we went shopping which isn’t much. When do you think I will be able to get my stuff?”Rosalie wanted to get her belongings soon because she didn’t want anything to get lost when Emmett and Becky took over the Cullen’s estate.

“You and the Assassin are about the same size so you can wear their clothes if you want. As for collecting your things we haven’t made plans to do it because we have been so focused on the tournament but I promise that we will set up a time to get it done as soon as things settle down.”Jane told her.

“I don’t mind wearing the Assassin’s clothes.”Rosalie would take any opportunity she could to be covered in Bella’s scent.

“For the tournament you should probably wear one of their robes and their Volturi necklace. That way everyone knows that you are connected to them and the royals. Even if it hasn’t been announced formally.”Jane said.

“That’s a good idea.”Rosalie wanted everyone to know that she had a relationship with Bella and what better statement could she make than wearing matching robes at a tournament where Bella was the main event.

“Until then why don’t me and the Assassin show you all Aro’s personal collection of royal artifacts.”Jane suggested once they made it to the end of the room.

“I would love to see what he has.”Rosalie expected Aro to have some pretty spectacular pieces. Following Jane out room Rosalie got Bella’s attention and held out her hand smiling when Bella took it in her own. Rosalie had never thought just holding someone’s hand would bring her so much joy but anytime Bella’s hand was in her own she felt like she would burst with happiness. She had always thought that she would never get the chance to even properly speak to Bella so the fact that she not only was able to spent all the time she wanted with her but got to touch Bella without any fear of punishment was something that Rosalie was never take for granted. She was proud to have Bella as mate and couldn’t wait until the tournament when everyone else would know they were a couple. Even though she felt a little bad that she was forcing Bella and Jane to go public with their relationship Rosalie believed Jane when she said she didn’t mind as it would help keep Rosalie safe. Rosalie had notice that Jane would do anything for Bella even if that meant stepping out of her comfort zone for Rosalie. It was just Rosalie’s hope that one day she could return the favor and do something for Jane. She had no doubt that she would get the chance eventually and when the time came she wouldn’t hesitate to step up. It would after all make Bella happy if her mates got along and there was nothing Rosalie wouldn’t do to make Bella happy.
