“When do you think he is going to show up?”Rosalie asked as she took a bite of the bbq rib she was eating. She along with Isabella and Rose were in Laredo, Texas enjoying some food while waiting for Edward. They had gotten a tip that he was trying to find allies from those who had fought in the Mexican newborn wars and was using a vampire bar in the city as his base of operations. Rose had visited the bar by herself and had used her gift to make the bouncer call them when Edward showed up. In the meantime the trio was enjoying the sunshine and good food the city offered. There were plans to go shopping after they were done eating and Rosalie was taking Isabella’s advice and relaxing while they had the chance. As soon as they got word on Edward life was going to get hectic again and Rosalie knew that down time was going to be scarce.

“As soon as the sun goes down.”Isabella said.

“People know what happened with the Romanians, Amun and his crew and what we did to the Volturi. Edward is losing the little support he had and is scrambling to find allies. He will be at the bar tonight to try and show everyone that he isn’t afraid of us and to reassure people that we aren’t any kind of threat.”Rosalie told her.

“We have caused a lot of fear in vampires society haven’t we?”Rosalie still couldn’t believe that she had been involved in all things she, Isabella and Rose had done.

“The fact that the Volturi have offered a reward for any information about us and a large bonus for our capture proves we have.”Isabella expected other groups had put out rewards as well.

“This is the first time I’ve had a bounty on my head.”Rose was very proud of the fact that she had caused enough chaos that people were hunting her.

“This is not my first at all.”Isabella had been hunted many times throughout her travels.

“How many bounties have you had?”Rosalie was thinking the same thing as Rose. She was proud of the fact that the Volturi thought she was worth putting a bounty on her head.

“I lost count after 20.”Isabella knew there would many more in the future.

“You really cause a lot of trouble don’t you?”Rosalie was coming to learn that when Isabella was involved it resulted in a lot of death and destruction.

“I don’t cause trouble.”Isabella in no way was the cause the many incidents that she was a part of.

”You cause so much trouble that the queens had to set up a special council because so many vampires came to them with complaints about you.”Rose didn’t even upset people as badly as Isabella did and she went out of her way to piss people off.

“Wait you have a special council that deals with just things you are involved in?”Rosalie asked.

“Some people take offense to how I handle things.”Isabella said.

Rose snorted out a laugh.”That’s the understatement of the century.”

“If my sire doesn’t disapprove of my methods then I don’t care if anyone else does.”Isabella wasn’t going to change how she dealt with things because Athenodora didn’t care.

“That’s because she likes to live vicariously through you.”Rose knew that the queen would happily join Isabella on her many adventures if she could.”She even brags to others about your exploits.”

“It sounds so weird that Queen Athenodora is not only your sire but that she is so active. Here the king keep the queens very isolated and even sightings of them are rare. Especially after Didyme was murdered.”Rosalie knew that Carlisle hadn’t even seen the queens when he lived at the castle.

“Now that sounds weird to me. We were are from if any of the kings tried to control one of the queens they would be beaten badly if not killed.”Rose bet that the queens wouldn’t have to order anyone to do it either.

“I would peal the flesh off of Caius’ bones if he ever spoke a bad word to or about Athenodora. If he tried to exert some kind of control over her the torture I put him through would make him wish he was never born.”Isabella wouldn’t put up with anyone disrespecting her sire.

“I have no doubt you would do that.”Rosalie could easily believe that Isabella would do as she claimed.

“You know you were right about these onion rings. They are delicious.”Rose needed to get the recipe so she could make them at home.

“We need to pick up some of the spices they have here to make them at home.”Isabella had been planning on picking up gifts for her wife as well while they were in that dimension.

“Hopefully Tanya can get the plants to grow.”Rose said.

“She has been requesting that I build her another greenhouse but I haven’t had the chance yet.”Isabella was going to get it done when she got home to hopefully sooth Tanya’s hurt feelings at Rose being able to travel with her.

“Why do you have to build it?”Rosalie would have just asked someone else to do it.

“Because I need to use certain materials and techniques I learned during my travels that the vampires in my dimension don’t know.”Isabella told her.

“That and Tanya won't let anyone but Isabella to build or remodel anything on our properties.”Rose said.

“Why not?”Rosalie asked.

“Two reasons. One she knows Isabella is a perfectionist and won’t do a half assed job and two it’s a way to punish her for spending so much time traveling.”Rose explained.

“She punishes you for traveling so much even though it isn’t your fault?”Rosalie was surprised to hear that.

“She doesn’t punish me. She just likes to give me projects because it’s a way to guarantee I won’t leave as I won’t stop until what I’m working on is done.”Isabella didn’t get punished. Her wife just liked to give her things to keep her home.

“I don’t know how even of you manage being apart for so long. I miss Emmett terribly and we have only been gone less than two weeks.”Rosalie felt like they had been gone for years not weeks.

“I am used to being away from Emmett but usually not for this long and when I am I at least get to call him and hear his voice.”Rose missed her Emmett badly but was happy that she was with Isabella helping her on this mission. She would have hated if she found out later what Isabella had done without any help.

“I want to say it gets easier but it doesn’t. Especially when I am faced with so many different Tanyas that are a physical reminder that we are apart.”Isabella didn’t think she would ever get used to being away from Tanya.

“I hadn’t really thought about how jarring it was for you to see different version of your mate until I saw the other Emmett. It’s really creepy seeing your mate and not having any feelings for them.”Rose didn’t even like hearing this Emmett’s voice let alone seeing his face it was so disturbing.

“It upset me so much the first time I encountered a different Tanya that I wept uncontrollable when I was reunited with my actual mate.”Isabella had refused to leave Tanya’s side for a week after her first dimensional trip.

“I didn’t even consider the fact that you started these trips by accident.”Rosalie said.

“That accident led to a lot of panicking. On both my part and those of my family and friends.”Isabella still felt a bit of that panic anytime she traveled dimensions.

“How long were you gone the first time?”Rosalie asked.

“Five days in my dimension but three weeks in the one I traveled to.”Those were the three worst weeks of Isabella’s life.

“You were away from home for three weeks the first time you traveled like this?”Rosalie couldn’t imagine how Isabella must have felt being in some strange place without knowing how to get home or being able to contact anyone she knew.”What did you guys think happened to her?”

“This happened before my time.”Rose was happy it did because she would have probably done something extreme if she had thought Isabella was missing.

“How long have you been traveling?”Rosalie hadn’t really thought about how long Isabella had been going on these trips.

“I’ve been doing this for almost a thousand years.”Isabella told her.

“You just have seen a lot of incredible things in that time.”Rosalie figured Isabella saw the rise and fall of many civilizations.

“Incredible, horrible, beautiful, terrifying. I’m seen so much nothing surprises me anymore.”Isabella took a bite of her corn on the cob and frowned.”My tralief is wearing off. How about you guys?”

Rose sighed.”Mine too.”

“I wish mine wasn’t. This is the first time I have ever had bbq and I’m not ready to be done with the experience.”Rosalie doubted that she would get the chance to have authentic southern bbq when she got back to Forks.

“I’m going to buy a bunch of their sauces.”Isabella said.

“I want to get a book on bbq. I’m interested in the different types of wood they use in this dimension.”Rose was fascinated by the different ways others prepared food. It seemed that every time Isabella came home from a trip she brought new techniques.

“I was thinking about bringing some trees home for Tanya this time so if you find one you want to use let me know.”Isabella figured Tanya would like to have some trees this time around.

“We need to get some more chocolate to bring home as well.”Rose was definitely not leaving this dimension without some of the delicious candy.

“I noticed a candy shop as we walking here we can go to.”Rosalie would like to get some candy as well.

“Good let’s go pay and buy the sauces and then get out of here. I want to have a chance to put all our purchases in our hotel room before we go to the bar.”Isabella hadn’t been happy about having to get a hotel room but with all the stuff Rose had acquired on this mission they needed a place to store it.

“I’ll take care of our purchases today so you don’t have to waste the money you have.”Rosalie offered.

“Are you sure?”Isabella asked.

“Positive. I have more than enough money to cover everything.”Rosalie didn’t think they would be spending large enough amounts of money that it would hurt her savings. Looking at Rose’s bright smile Rosalie amended that thought. Hopefully they wouldn’t be spending enough to hurt her savings.

“Then thank you.”Isabella was more than willing to accept Rosalie’s offer as it would save the hassle of her having to sell some of her items to make some cash.

“No problem.”Rosalie actually felt happy that she could contribute something to the mission.

“Sweet then come on. There are so many stores I want to visit and we only have a few more hours left until sundown.”Rose said.

“Remember you are in charge of carrying all your own purchases.”Isabella reminded Rose. Getting a huff in reply Isabella rolled her eyes at her friend. Deciding to stop a fight before it could break out she stood from her seat and made her way to the front of the restaurant. Thinking over the trip Isabella was happy it seemed like Rose was having fun. Rosalie as well. It would have been a huge headache if the pair complained the whole time. Well Rose complained but it was the usually level of complaining for her bond mate. Rose wanted to be in motion at all times. The waiting around annoyed her. Luckily they could shop while they waited for Edward. Other than fighting and stealing shopping was one of Rose’s favorite things to do. She was fascinated with new things and always got excited when she encountered something she had never seen before. Isabella sometimes wished she could be as easily placated with new things. She did at times but only if something was really unique. Like meeting the wolf shifters. It was just to bad that they hadn’t come across anymore shifters. That would have made this trip worth it. Isabella gave a mental shrug. There were always new dimensions and adventures in the future that she was sure she would see something cool.
