“You’re late.”Bella rolled her eyes at Rosalie’s lack of proper greeting. She had hoped that Rosalie would behave better on their date but it seemed that wasn’t going to happen. Not that Bella was surprised. She expected Rosalie to be extremely rude and that she would insult Bella many times before dinner was over. Bella was just happy that she only had to get through this one dinner with Rosalie then she didn’t have to see her ever again. That was the deal they made and Bella already knew that there would be no second date. The greeting Rosalie gave her guaranteed that.

“My ride share got stuck in traffic.”Bella told her.

“What do you mean ride share? Is your car broken?”Rosalie asked.

“I live in the city I don’t have a car. I walk, take public transportation or ride shares when I need to go somewhere. If it’s a long trip I rent a car.”Bella hated driving and avoided it at all cost.

“That’s unacceptable. Walking around is dangerous, public transportation in unhygienic, you could get kidnapped and assaulted in a ride share and rental cars are unsafe. I will have to buy you car.”Rosalie wasn’t going to let her mate travel like that.

“Stop right there. You are not going to buy me anything. First off I don’t want a car, second if I did I would buy my own and third I only agreed to one date with you and you definitely don’t buy cars for someone you only went on one date with.”Bella wasn’t going to let Rosalie buy her a car.

“You need a car.”Rosalie was going to buy Bella a car whether Bella wanted her to or not.”Also there will be more than one date.”

“I highly doubt that as we haven’t even made it into the restaurant yet and I already want to go home.”Bella would rather be at home sitting on her couch in sweats, drinking wine and binge watching Wynona Earp than wasting her time with Rosalie.

“You said you would give me a chance.”Rosalie didn’t think it was fair that Bella had already decided that there would no second date before they even had dinner.

Bella shrugged.”It isn’t my fault that you are ruining your chance.”

“How could I ruin my chance when I haven’t even done anything wrong?”Rosalie couldn’t believe Bella was already dismissing her.

“Look I don’t know about you but I’m hungry so if you want to stay out here and argue you do that because I’m going in the restaurant and having dinner. I didn’t waste my time getting dressed up to waste this look on Chinese takeout.”Bella said as she walked past Rosalie and made her way into the restaurant

Rosalie stared after Bella dumbfounded for a second before racing after her at a human speed.”You can’t just leave me outside like that.”

“I gave you the option of coming with me.”Bella smiled at the hostess.”Reservation for Swan.”

“Right this way Ms. Swan.”The hostess grabbed two menus and led Bella and a grumbling Rosalie to a table near the middle of the room.

“Is there somewhere else you could put us? Somewhere private?”Rosalie didn’t want to be looked at and have people overhearing their conversation.

“This table is perfect.”Bella had made the request to have a table in the middle so there were plenty of witnesses. That way Rosalie would behave and not try anything. Bella didn’t completely trust the woman and didn’t want to take any chances.

“Are you sure?”The hostess asked.

Bella cut Rosalie off before she could object.”I’m positive.”

“Then here are your menus and your waitress will be with you shortly.”The hostesses told them waiting for each woman to sit before laying the menus in front of them.

Rosalie glared at Bella.”Why did you tell her this was an appropriate table?”

“Because it is.”Bella looked over the menu.”I’m thinking about having some seafood. What about you?”

“I’m thinking that we should move to a different table.”Rosalie didn’t care about the food because she wasn’t going to eat anything.

”Then again it’s not often that I get the opportunity to have a properly cooked steak.”Bella said ignoring Rosalie’s comment.

Rosalie huffed.”Seriously sitting in the middle of the room with everyone looking at us doesn’t set the mood for a romantic evening.”

“If you can’t make an evening romantic just because of where you are sitting then I have little hope that you are going to earn that second date.”Bella told her.

“I can make anything romantic.”Rosalie was going to be so romantic that by the end of the meal Bella was going to be so in love with her that she would be begging Rosalie to take her to Vegas to get married.

“Then I guess we are keeping this table then.”Bella was happy that the table issue was dealt with.

“I guess we are.”Rosalie agreed.

“Hello my name is Rebecca. I’m your waitress this evening. Can I start you with something to drink or some appetizers?”A woman dressed in a formal server’s uniform asked as she approached the table.

“We are going to decline the appetizers and start with the main course.”Bella wasn’t going to drag this dinner out.

“Of course then do you need a minute to decide?”Rebecca asked.

“I know what I want.”Bella said.

“You order first.”Rosalie hadn’t even looked at the menu. She was just going to order the same thing Bella did and have Bella take it home with her.

“I’ll take the New York strip steak cooked medium rare with potatoes and mixed vegetables and a glass of red wine please.”Bella told Rebecca.

Rosalie frowned hearing Bella order wine.“I’ll have the same but water instead of wine.”

“I’ll be right back with your drinks.”Rebecca collected the menus and left the table.

Rosalie wasted no time reprimanding Bella.“Didn’t I tell you not to drink alcohol?”

“Didn’t I tell you that you have no control over what I do?”Bella wasn’t going to deal with Rosalie’s crazy demands.

“Alcohol is not only bad for your health, it’s very irresponsible to willingly impair your own body.”Rosalie told her.

“I’m not going to get black out drunk Rosalie. I’m having a glass of wine with my dinner to try and relax. Something I will need all the help I can get to do because you stress me out.”Bella was planning on having at least three glasses of wine by the end of dinner.

“I know that my presence can be intimidating but you don’t need to stress yourself out by trying to impress me. I already see you as a suitable romantic partner. I mean there are a few things you need to improve on to be worthy enough to marry but I think with a little guidance and some discipline I will be able to make you my wife in a couple of months. Sooner if you can adapt quickly.”Rosalie knew she could have Bella molded into shape in no time.

Bella stared at Rosalie in shock. She wished she had that glass wine in front of her so she throw it at Rosalie.”Excuse me?!”

“Oh don’t worry with how smart you are you will catch on quickly.”Rosalie assured her mistaking Bella’s red face for embarrassment.

“I don’t even know how to respond to that.”Bella mumbled.

“You don’t have to do anything but follow my detailed plans. Based on the fact that you graduated law school so early in your life shows that you will have no problem understanding what you need to do to fulfill your role as a housewife. Of course you won’t need your law degree anymore as you will obviously be quitting your job. You will also need a new wardrobe because I like my woman more feminine than you are and maybe a hair cut. Something shorter and I think some red highlights would look nice.”Rosalie jerked back when she felt Bella’s hand strike her face and heard bones breaking followed by Bella crying out in pain.

“Fuck!!”Bella cradled her hand to her body.

“Bella what the hell?!”Rosalie couldn’t believe that Bella hit her.

“Jesus Christ your cheek is made of granite.”Bella couldn’t understand how Rosalie’s face was so hard.

“Why did you hit me?!”Rosalie hadn’t done anything that would warrant Bella hitting her.

“I hit you because you are a chauvinistic asshole and I didn’t have any wine to throw in your face.”Bella stood from her seat and started to make her way to the exit only to be stopped by a frazzled Rebecca.

“Are you ok Miss?Do you need an ambulance?”Rebecca asked.

“No I’m fine. The woman I was with will settle the bill.”Bella didn’t wait for a reply before continuing on her way.

Rosalie jumped up from her seat, pulled a stack of hundred dollar bills out of her wallet and threw them on the table before rushing after Bella. She found her on sidewalk in front of the restaurant typing on her phone.”Bella wait.”

“Leave me alone Rosalie.”Bella didn’t want to deal Rosalie anymore.

“You’re hurt. I’ll take you to the hospital.”Rosalie was going to take Bella to the hospital Carlisle worked at as she only trusted her father to look after her mate.

“You aren’t taking me anywhere. As matter of fact you should leave. I fulfilled my end of our deal and I went on one date with you. Now I don’t want to ever see you again.”Bella turned her back on Rosalie and pulled up the ride share app on her phone securing a ride to the hospital. She was pretty sure her hand was broken.

“I’m not leaving you alone while you’re hurt.”Rosalie wasn’t going abandon her injured mate.

“You are the reason I’m hurt. As matter of fact would care to explain why I broke my hand slapping your face?”Bella was pretty sure it wasn’t normal for someone break their hand slapping someone on the cheek.

“I’m not the reason you are hurt. You slapped me!”Rosalie wasn’t the one who got violent.

Bella rolled her eyes.”Nice deflection.”

“I’m not deflecting. I am just not letting you blame me for your injury.”Rosalie didn’t understand how Bella thought she was at fault for her hurt hand.

“If you weren’t such a pig I wouldn’t have hit you.”Bella told her.

Before Rosalie could argue further her phone rang. Seeing it was Alice calling she decided to answer.”What?!”

“Rosalie why did I have a vision of Bella in the hospital?”Alice asked.

“Bella broke her hand by acting stupid.”Rosalie told her.

“I was acting stupid!! You are a grade A asshole Rosalie!!”Bella decided to put some distance between her and Rosalie and starting walking away from the blond.

Rosalie hurried after her.”Bella wait up.”

“Leave me alone!”Bella looked down the street willing her ride to get there as soon as possible.

“Rosalie what is going on?”Alice asked.

“Bella broke her hand and is refusing to let me take her to the hospital.”Rosalie was very frustrated with this whole situation.

“How did Bella break her hand?”Alice’s voice was laced with worry.

“She slapped me across the face at dinner.”Rosalie winced when she heard numerous voices yelling on the other end of the phone line.

“What did you do?!”Tanya’s voice thundered above all the others.

“I didn’t do anything. I was simply telling Bella what things she would need to work on to be the perfect housewife.”Rosalie winced again when the voices were louder this time.

“For fucks sake Rosalie. We talked about this.”Tanya said.

“Well regardless if we did or not Bella is hurt and refuses to let me help her.”Rosalie would deal with the lectures later.

“I’ll be there in less than ten minutes. Try not to upset her any more than you already have.”Tanya said before disconnecting the call.

“Tanya is on her way to go with us to the hospital.”Rosalie hoped that Tanya would be able calm Bella down enough that the human would understand she was in the wrong.

“I don’t need Tanya’s help just like I don’t need your help!”Bella didn’t want anything to do with Rosalie’s family.

“Why are you being so stubborn?”Rosalie asked in frustration.

“I’m being stubborn?!”Bella lowered her voice when she noticed that she was gaining the attention of random people walking on the street.”You are the most stubborn person I ever met. Along with the most disgusting, despicable, revolting, insulting, disrespectful, ignorant, pigheaded, moronic, and many other negative adjectives I can’t think of to describe you, person I have ever met”

“What..How dare..You can’t.”Rosalie sputtered out.

“I hate you so much right now that if you don’t leave me alone I am going to risk breaking my good hand hitting you again. This time with a fist.”Bella threatened.

“You little.”Rosalie was incredibly insulted that Bella would speak to her like that.

Before Bella could say anything else her ride share pulled up next to the sidewalk.”My ride is here.”

“You aren’t leaving with some stranger.”Rosalie wasn’t going to let Bella drive off with some random person when she was injured.

“I would rather take my chances with an ax murder than spend another minute with you.”Bella made a move to get into the car but was blocked by Rosalie.”I swear to god Rosalie if you don’t move I will hurt you.”

“How are you going to do that?”Rosalie asked.

“I’ll figure out a way. Now move.”Bella pushed Rosalie as hard as she could only to fall backwards onto the ground when she was met with a stone wall.

“Bella what the hell?!”Rosalie quickly knelt to the ground and began running her eyes over Bella’s body searching for new injuries.

“What the fuck are you?!”Bella was now positive that Rosalie wasn’t a normal human.

“Did you hurt yourself more?”Rosalie asked ignoring Bella’s question.

“Hey do you need a ride or not?”The driver called out.

“No.”Rosalie said at the same time Bella said.”Yes.”

“Well which is it?”The driver asked.

Rosalie jumped up, pulled some cash out of her wallet and handed it to the driver.The driver looked the cash wide eyed.”She doesn’t need a ride.”

“Anything you say lady.”The drive rolled up the window and without a backwards glance drove off.

“Are you serious?!”Bella wasn’t a violent person but she was very close to committing murder.

“I told you I wasn’t going to let you ride off in a car with a stranger.”Rosalie reminded her.

Before Bella could reply a black BMW four door came squealing to a stop on the street in front of them. When Bella caught sight of Tanya, Irina and an unfamiliar blond she sighed.”Great there is another one of you.”

“Bella why are you on the ground?”Tanya asked in confusion.

“Rosalie was blocking my access to the ride share I called and I tried to push her out the way. The result was me falling.”Bella explained.

“Rosalie why didn’t you stop her from falling?”Irina knew that Rosalie could have easily prevented Bella from falling.

“I didn’t think of it.”Rosalie admitted.

Tanya rolled her eyes.”Let me help you up Bella. Then I’ll take you to the hospital.”

“I don’t suppose I could convince you to just take Rosalie and leave could I?”Bella would prefer Rosalie and her family not to be involved in her life any more than they already were.

Kate laughed.”You and Rosalie really hit it off on your date didn’t you?”

“I slapped her before our waitress even bought our drinks to the table.”Bella told her.

“Seriously Rosalie?!”Irina had expected Rosalie to at least make it to dessert before Bella stormed out.

“What? I didn’t do anything. It was Bella who was being dramatic. I think she is on her period or something because she is being really irrational.”Rosalie had read about pms and Bella was showing all the symptoms.

“You asshole!”As soon as Bella got to her feet she was swinging her good hand in a fist at Rosalie.

Tanya quickly grabbed Bella around the waist to stop her from going after Rosalie.”As much as Rosalie deserves to be punched in the face. We need to get you to the hospital because your hand is very swollen and I’m pretty sure it’s not supposed to be the color blue.”

“I don’t deserved to be punched in the face!!”Rosalie was highly offended Tanya would say that.

“Rosalie I think the best thing you can do right now is keep your mouth shut.”Irina suggested.

“Come on Bella you can sit in the back with me and Irina and tell us all about what Rosalie did to deserve to be slapped.”Kate found this whole situation hilarious and couldn’t wait to hear all about Rosalie’s blunders.

“Which one are you related to?”Bella asked.

“Sorry I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Kate. Irina and Tanya’s sister and Rosalie’s cousin.”Kate said.

“Lucky you.”Bella allowed Kate to lead her to the back seat of the car. She didn’t really want to go with them but it seemed that it was only way she would get to the hospital without Rosalie interfering.

“I know you don’t believe it but Rosalie isn’t really that bad once you get past her selfishness.”Kate told her.

“I’m not selfish!!”Rosalie was the least selfish person she knew.

“Didn’t I say keep your mouth shut Rosalie?”Irina knew that if Rosalie kept talking Bella was going to go after her again and Irina honestly believed that Bella would eventually figure out a way to hurt the vampire.

“But she..”Rosalie started but was cut off by Irina.

“Just be quiet.”Irina said as she slipped into the back seat.

“I think I should sit in the back with Bella in case she needs me.”Rosalie wanted to be the one Bella turned to for help.

“The only thing I need from you is distance.”Bella told her.

Kate laughed again.”I like you Bella.”

“If that were true you would have taken Rosalie home and let me find my own way to the hospital.”Bella said.

Kate laughed harder.”I have a feeling you are going to bring a lot fun to the family.”

“I doubt it.”Bella didn’t want anything to do with Rosalie’s family. Sitting back in her seat Bella closed her eyes and tuned out the rest of the passengers in the vehicle. She was kicking herself for ever thinking that going on a date with Rosalie was a good idea. She knew the blond was bad news after she heard the insulting pick up line Rosalie used on her in the bar. Then the feeling of unease grew when Bella interacted with Rosalie at the fake lunch meeting. Bella didn’t understand why she went against her gut. It was never wrong and it told her that Rosalie was not someone she would like spending time with. Feeling the throb in her hand made Bella hate Rosalie even more than she already did. The woman was insufferable and Bella had a feeling that she wasn’t going to be able to shake her off that easily. Rosalie wasn’t one to take no for an answer and Bella wondered if she had enough of a case to file a restraining order. She could use the gifts as proof but the judge would likely need more than just that. Bella predicted that Rosalie would waste no time giving her enough evidance to convince the judge. Bella cursed herself for being a magnet for crazy women. She just hoped that like the others she dealt with she would eventually be able to get rid of Rosalie. Even if she had to have the police help her. It wouldn’t be the first time and Bella had a feeling it wouldn’t be the last.
