Death's Visit 10

“Hello Rosalie.”Rosalie jumped in surprise hearing Isabella’s voice coming from behind her. She was in her closet sorting through her clothes trying to decide what to keep and what to leave behind. Rosalie was finding that most of her clothes were in the style of a teenager and realized that she had been playing the part of high school student so long she stopped dressing the way she would prefer and wore things that made her look as young as possible. Now that she wasn’t going to have to pretend anymore she was going to replace most of her wardrobe. She was going to be a wife and mother soon if she got her way and wanted to look the part of a mature woman. Not a teenager on her way to a club.

“Hey Isabella.”Rosalie greeted as she turned to face her mate.

“What are you doing?”Isabella asked.

“A lot of things have happened with my coven that resulted in me, Jasper, Alice and Emmett breaking off from the Cullens and joining the Denali Coven in Alaska. I want to leave as soon as possible so I’m packing what I want to take with me.”Rosalie explained.

“I just spoke to you yesterday and you said that you wouldn’t have anymore problems with your coven.”Isabella furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.”What changed?”

Rosalie wanted to coo over how cute Isabella looked right then. She realized that Isabella didn’t really express herself much. Rosalie wondered if after she went through the ceremony that would change.”I took Alice with me to meet Gene.”

“How big of a home did he talk you into?”Isabella knew whatever was picked was going to be extravagant.

“It’s more like a private island with a mansion that has all the amenities you could ever think of.”Rosalie told her.

“I’m in no way surprised but I am pleased that you were comfortable enough to use the money I gave you access to to pay for it.”Isabella had thought Rosalie would have been a little more hesitant to use the money because it came from demons.

“I wasn’t at first but after meeting Gene I am more than happy to spend the money on our home.”Rosalie knew based on how Gene had treated her that the demons would love the fact that Rosalie was personally using their earnings to set up her household.

“Good because it’s the only income I have.”Isabella said.”Now get to back to what happened that led to you leaving your coven.”

“When we were at Gene’s office Alice found out about Gene being a demon which led to her finding out you are a grim reaper.”Rosalie told her picking the story back up.”I decided to call a family meeting when we got home to tell the family about everything all together so I wouldn’t have to repeat myself to each of them. Things started to get bad right away when Edward refused to believe that not only was Gene a demon but you are grim reaper.”

“I thought you said he was religious. Wouldn’t he be the one most likely to believe in both beings?”Isabella asked.

“You would think so but he wanted more proof than me just saying that you escorted souls to the afterlife.”Thinking about that reminded Rosalie of Emmett’s question.”It was also brought up what you looked like. I never thought to ask you but is what you look like now how you always look?”

Isabella shook her head.”No this is a disguise that allows me to blend in with humans.”

“What do you really look like then?”Rosalie asked.

“I really look like this.”Isabella focused on her body and willed it back to its natural form.

Rosalie gasped in shock as the beautiful brown eyed woman she had grown used to was replaced by a tall figure that was wearing a black hooded robe over what looked like battle armor carrying a scythe. That wasn’t the thing that shocked Rosalie however. What shocked her was in place of the face of the woman she loved was a skull with red glowing eyes. Taking in Isabella’s entire body Rosalie found that she wasn’t at all scared or disgusted by her. If anything Rosalie found the aura of danger that clung to Isabella highly attractive. So attractive in fact that Rosalie found herself shifting on her feet trying to find some relief from the ache she felt in between her thighs.

“Does this form scare you?”Isabella didn’t want Rosalie to fear her but she wouldn’t hide her true self.

“No, not at all. In fact I like this form just as much as I like your human form.”Rosalie was already mid fantasy of Isabella dominating her in bed in this form. She would have to ask Isabella later how flexible she was in this form because a lot of her plans had Isabella in some positions she would need to bend and contort her body to do.

“It’s the one I am most comfortable in as I spend most of my time like this.”Isabella told her.

Before Rosalie could reply she heard her door open followed by Alice’s voice calling out.”Hey Rosalie do you think I could….”

“Alice don’t come in.”Rosalie tried to stop Alice from seeing Bella but was too late.

“Why can’t I..”Alice stopped talking mid question when she caught sight of Isabella. As soon as she looked at those red eyes she raced out of the room screaming at the top of her lungs.

Rosalie sighed.”That went well.”

“That is a very common response when mortals see me like this.”Isabella said as she changed back into her human form.

“I was going to wait until after we got back from our vacation to introduce you to the family but I have no doubt that Jasper is going to come charging in here any second.”Rosalie’s prediction came true because a second later Jasper was in the room looking ready to kill someone.

“Where is the demon that attacked Alice?”Jasper wasn’t going to let anything get away with attacking his mate. Even if it was a demon.

“First of all no one attacked Alice, she got scared and ran away. Second it wasn’t a demon it was Isabella in her reaper form.”Rosalie told him.

“What?”Jasper was very confused about what was going on.

“Alice barged in my room without knocking and before I could warn her she caught sight of Isabella in her reaper form. I didn’t get a chance to explain what was going on before she ran out of here screaming. Neither Isabella or I attacked her. We didn’t even talk to her.”Rosalie explained.

“I see. I should go try and calm her down because she is very upset.”Jasper was happy he wouldn’t be fighting a demon.

“Since you’re here. Jasper this is Isabella. Isabella this is my brother Jasper.”Rosalie introduced the pair.

“It’s nice to meet you Isabella.”Jasper held out his hand for her shake.

Rosalie stepped in when she noticed Isabella didn’t understand the gesture.”You are supposed to shake his hand.”

“Yes of course.”Isabella had never shook someone’s hand before. Most of her physical contact was grabbing and restraining souls that tried to escape her. She wasn’t use to casual touches. Taking the hand in her own she shook it.”It’s nice to meet you Jasper.”

“Well then. I will leave you two alone but I would expect at least Emmett to come check in once he finds out what happened. The others are still locked in Carlisle’s office so I don’t know if they heard Alice screaming. I think Alice will also be back after she has calmed down a bit.”Jasper fully expected the entire family to ambush Isabella once they found out she was in the house.

“Great.”Rosalie did not want to deal with the rest of the family.

“See you.”Jasper said before leaving the room shutting the door behind him.

“I’m sorry for scaring your sister.”Isabella felt bad that she scared Alice.

Rosalie waved off the apology.”It was her own fault for not knocking.”

“This won’t prevent her from joining you in Alaska will it?”Isabella asked.

“After what happening with Carlisle and Edward nothing will stop them from joining me in Alaska.”Rosalie knew that Alice would get over her shock soon.

“Back to that. What happened that got you to the point of you all leaving?”Isabella was very curious to find out what transpired.

“After I told them that you were a grim reaper Alice told them about the island I bought. Emmett asked if we were going to live there full time and Carlisle answered before I could telling Emmett that I would continue living with the family. I took that opportunity to inform everyone that not only would I not be living with the family when we got back from our honeymoon but that I was leaving the coven.”Rosalie told her.

“How was that received?”Isabella didn’t think Rosalie leaving the coven was the whole story.

“Not well. Everyone was upset. I was asked why I wanted to leave the coven and I told them that I have always hated being a member of the coven and was extremely unhappy with the way we lived our lives. Esme made comment about how could that be because they all loved me like I was their own flesh in blood but I pointed if that was true then she and Carlisle would have treated myself, Emmett, Jasper and Alice with more respect. That lead to a huge argument about Edward being treated better than the rest of us which resulted in Edward insulting you and me dismantling him. After I was done Emmet, Alice and Jasper asked if I would take them with me when I left. I said yes.”Rosalie explained.

“Are you their coven leader now?”Isabella asked.

”I’m not sure. I talked to Tanya the leader of the Denali Coven who are the ones we will be going to be staying with in Alaska and she said that we could stay with them until everything was decided. She doesn’t want to make a decision on whether the four of us can join her coven until we tell her the complete story of what happened in person. Which I understand as taking in four vampires from a different coven is a huge deal and isn’t a something to agree to without getting all the facts and thinking about it for while.”Rosalie wasn’t to worried about Tanya agreeing. She was sure the coven leader would.

“Are you alright with joining another coven and taking the other three with you?”Isabella wanted to make sure Rosalie was happy with her decision.

“I would feel horrible leaving them on their own. They don’t have any way of taking care of themselves and would easily be taken advantage of it they went out on their own. Even the Denali would overwhelm them if they didn’t have someone looking out for them.”Rosalie knew that the Denali wouldn’t mean to but Jasper, Emmett and Alice weren’t very good advocates for themselves and would just agree to everything to stop any fights from breaking out.

“If you are sure then I support you in this.”Isabella told her.

“Thank you.”Rosalie was happy that Isabella wasn’t trying to make her leave her family behind. Hearing a knock on her door she sighed.”It seems your presence has been announced.”

“I can leave if you want.”Isabella offered.

“I don’t want you to leave. Unless you are uncomfortable meeting my family?”Rosalie didn’t want her time with Isabella to end but knew that Isabella would probably prefer not meeting her family.

“It was bound to happen eventually.”Isabella knew she was going to meet Rosalie’s family at some point. She just wished she had time to prepare before it happened.

“True.”Rosalie made her way to her door and opened being not at all surprised that Emmett stood on the other side.”Hello Emmett.”

“Hey Rosalie.”Emmett greeted while looking over Rosalie’s shoulder only to be disappointed when in instead of the grim reaper Alice described he saw a regular looking woman.”Alice and Jasper told me Isabella was here and I wanted to meet her.”

Rosalie held the door open.”Emmett this is Isabella. Isabella this is my brother Emmett.”

“Nice to meet you Emmett.”Isabella held out her hand for Emmett to shake.

“Welcome to the family.”Emmett ignored the hand and gave Isabella a hug.

“Emmett, let her go.”Rosalie quickly pulled Emmett off of Isabella.

“What’s the problem? She’s my sister and in this family we are huggers.”Emmett didn’t see a problem with giving Isabella a hug. He gave everyone but Edward and Carlisle hugs. He even hugged Jasper on occasion.

“Isabella doesn’t like to be touched.”Rosalie figured that was the best way to explain why Isabella wasn’t comfortable with physical affection without explaining that the reaper didn’t understand emotions because she couldn’t feel any.

“I’m sorry. I’ll ask next time.”Emmett would have no problems respecting Isabella’s boundaries in the future because he didn’t want Isabella to not want to be around him.

“Thank you.”Isabella wasn’t sure she would like there to be a next time as hugging was something she was only comfortable doing with Rosalie.

“What are you guys up to?”Emmett asked.

“I’m going though my clothes and picking out what I want to take with me and Isabella is just here visiting.”Rosalie told him.

“Cool.”Emmett said.”So Isabella have you reaped any souls today?”

Rosalie rolled her eyes.”Emmett her job is none of your business.”

“It’s alright. I don’t mind. To answer your question Emmett I have reaped six souls today.”It wasn’t against the rules to tell people about her job. As long as it didn’t risk exposing reapers to the world. Which Isabella didn’t think a vampire of all people would do that.

“How did they die?”Emmett was very excited to hear about what responsibilities reapers had.

“Four of them were of natural causes, one was a car accident and the other one was stabbed to death by a serial killer.”Isabella told him.

“A serial killer? Did you turn them over to the police?”Emmett asked.

”It’s not my job to stop mortals who commit crimes."Isabella said.

“What afterlife did all of them get?”Emmett wasn’t sure how he felt about Isabella ignoring a serial killer. It seemed wrong to him for her not to at least report them to the authorities.

“2 went to hell while the other four went heaven. That reminds me I need to go to a video game store to get some things for Charlie.”Isabella had been so busy with arranging the bonding ceremony that she hadn’t gotten a chance to buy the things that her friends had asked her for. That included buying some extra batteries for Charlie’s Nintendo Switch as charging space was limited in hell. As it was there was a five month waiting period to use the generators. Isabella was kind enough to charge things when asked and was constantly buying batteries for demons and angels.

“Wait is that the same Charlie that is the gatekeeper to hell?”Seeing Isabella nod Emmett was even more confused.”Why would you be buying video games for the gatekeeper to hell?”

“Most demons and angels don’t have access to the human realm and because of that I am often asked to bring them things. Video games are very popular in hell. The demons enjoy playing the more violent games that are made.”Isabella explained.

“Demons play video games?”Emmett was having a hard time imagining demons sitting around playing video games.

“Angels do as well but they like puzzle games the most. That and games where you can create your own character and simulate living a human life.”Isabella told him.

“That makes sense.”Rosalie could see someone who didn’t get to go to the human realm wanting to experience it anyway they could.

“Huh.”Emmett said.

“Food is the most popular thing I am asked for. I travel all over the world to get random food items and meals for my friends.”Isabella always made sure to get any new types of food that she came across for her friends to try.

“How do you travel?”Rosalie hadn’t really thought about how Isabella got places.

“I use my scythe to cut though space and time and travel to the destination I want to go to.”Isabella told her.

“Could you take living people with you?”Emmett would love to have the chance to travel like that. He was sure it was an amazing experience.

“I personally have never done it but it isn’t against the rules for me to bring living mortals with me when I travel.”Isabella had never wanted to travel with anybody but if Rosalie asked she would gladly take the vampire anywhere she wanted to go.

“So if we wanted to go the island we wouldn’t have to travel for hours to get there?”Rosalie asked.

“Not at all. I can even bring whatever physical items you wanted with us.”Isabella wouldn’t want to travel any other way.

“That will come in handy in the future.”Rosalie was already planning to travel like that for most of their trips. It would be a heck a lot nicer than having to be stuck on planes and boats for hours to get to the island. That and to travel to different places all over the world that Rosalie was planning for her and Isabella to go on vacation to. Now that she didn’t have to worry about the sun she was going to to all the places she couldn’t before.

“Heck yeah it will.”Emmett was thinking about how much easier it would be for them to go places because they wouldn’t have to worry about planning their travel around the sun.

“Speaking about traveling in the future, are you all packed Emmett?”Rosalie asked.

“Not yet.”Emmett had stopped became he wanted to meet Isabella.

“Well go finish because I want to get the moving truck soon so we can load it and get on our way. I’m hoping if we hurry we can leave quick enough we won’t have to deal with a confrontation with Edward and Carlisle.”Rosalie was hoping the pair and Esme would stay locked in Carlisle’s study and they wouldn’t even have to see them before they left.

“Yeah that’s not going to happen.”Emmett knew there was going to be a confrontation whether they wanted one or not.

“It could if we hurry. So go finish packing.”Rosalie was going to push her three siblings to go as fast as they could because if there was a confrontation she wanted to be able to leave before it got out of hand.

“Will you still be here later?”Emmett asked Isabella.

“If I don’t get called away I was planning on staying for a few hours.”Isabella had cleared her schedule to have some time to spend with Rosalie.

“Then hopefully I’ll see you later.”Emmett had a bunch more questions for Isabella and he wanted see if she would show him her reaper form. Something he had feeling Rosalie would not let him see until he was all packed.

“It was nice meeting you Emmett.”Minus the hug Isabella thought Emmett was nice person who she wouldn’t mind seeing again.

“Nice meeting you too.”Emmett replied as he made his way to the door.”I’ll let you know when I’m finished so I can go with Jasper to get the truck.”

“You do that.”Rosalie followed Emmett to the door making sure to lock it after he left. She was kicking herself for not locking it before.”Well all that’s left for you to meet are Edward, Carlisle and Esme.”

“Based on what you have told me about them I think I would rather not meet them.”Isabella wasn’t a big fan of fighting. That being something that she had come to understand was more than likely going to happen.

“If I have it my way you won’t. Heck if I have it my way I will never have to see them again.”Rosalie had contemplated barricading the door to Carlisle’s office to trap the three in there so they wouldn’t have to deal with them.”But there is no use worrying over it. I need to pack.”

“I can help if you want.”Isabella offered.

“That would be nice actually. If you could pack up the clothes I’m keeping it would make this go a lot faster.”Rosalie told her.

Isabella took a good look in Rosalie’s closet.”You have a lot of clothes.”

“Most of them I’m not taking.”Rosalie said.

“Why not?”Isabella asked.

“I noticed that all my clothes are styled to make me look as young as possible. Now that I don’t have to play the role of high school student anymore I was going to ask you if you would let me buy some clothing that would fit my new lifestyle better?”Rosalie didn’t want to look like a young girl anymore. Especially because Isabella looked like she was in late twenties.

“I gave you the credit card. I thought you understood you could buy whatever you want with it. That includes clothing or random things that catch your eye.”Isabella thought she made it clear that Rosalie didn’t have to ask her permission to spend money.

“I thought it was just to pay for things for the house.”Rosalie hadn’t thought that she could spend money on anything else.

Isabella shook her head.”No the credit card is yours now. You can use it for whatever you want, whenever you want. That includes for your new coven’s expenses as well as I figure that breaking off from Carlisle you will loose access to money as he being the coven leader likely had control over it.”

“You’re right he did have control over it.”Rosalie had hoped that Isabella would be willing to support her brothers and Alice but hadn’t expected her to.

“Well now you have unlimited funds and spend as much as you want. You could even give a bunch away if you wanted to.”Isabella told her.

“I don’t think I will give any away.”Rosalie wouldn’t feel comfortable doing that.

“I don’t think you understand how much money demons make. They earn in an hour more money than your and your siblings could spend in a a dozen lifetimes. They have been bringing in income since humans were created just in different forms of currency. They have spent many millennia amassing that wealth and anything you spend would be like removing a single piece of sand from a desert. No one would even notice it was gone. That and like I told you you are rather famous in hell and satan would be honored if he could fund your lifestyle.”Isabella knew that satan would be proud to support Rosalie and her family.

“I guess I’ll just have to get used to it.”Rosalie fully believed Isabella it was just hard to wrap her head around having unlimited funds. That and being encouraged to spend it. Carlisle kept a tight hold on the family’s money. She had been planning on asking Isabella to support her and their children but not do any frivolous spending. Hearing how much the demons make and that satan was happy to support her and her family Rosalie would have to get over her discomfortable because she had a feeling if she didn’t spend the money she would be insulting a lot of people.

“I think you will get more comfortable when it comes to buying things for our new home.”Isabella said.

“I don’t want to have to cut corners when it comes to our home.”Rosalie knew Isabella was right. She wanted everything to be perfect for their family home and that meant not being cheap.”Let’s get on this packing so that we can get to Alaska and put in a plan to finally visit our home.”

“Alright.”Isabella wouldn’t mind working out the details for when they would finally go to the island. She was looking forward to going through the ceremony and finally being mated to Rosalie. There were many things to do before that but Isabella was still excited about getting it done. Well she felt anticipation not excitement as that wasn’t something she could feel. That was another thing to look forward to. Being able to feel emotions. Isabella had never really thought about what it would be like to have feelings as it never really matter to her. After meeting Rosalie however and seeing how she reacted to finding a mate that’s all Isabella could think about. Isabella knew she was lucky to have not only been assigned mate but for that mate to Rosalie as she had found that Rosalie was an exceptional human. She was kind, caring, strong, independent and responsible. Plus she was willing to step up and do what others were to weak willed to do. Case in point the way she killed her victims. Folding up some t-shirts Isabella knew that her life was going to change drastically and for the better because with Rosalie by her side to spend the rest of eternity  with how could anything be more perfect.
