The Forgotten Sister 12

“Push the A button to jump.”Kate told Bella. The pair along with the rest of the family and the four Cullen children were on the Denali’s private jet flying to Ireland to speak to the Irish coven. During a conversation about what kind of technology Bella had access to while living in the castle Kate had been appalled to find out that Bella had never played video games. That led to Kate pulling out her Nintendo Switch from her carryon and teaching Bella how to play. Bella wasn’t really that interested in learning but it seemed important to Kate and Bella didn’t want to disappoint her sister. Especially since it seemed Kate didn’t have anyone to play with. Bella had a feeling she was going to be playing a lot of games with Kate in the future and really didn’t mind as it make her sister happy and all Bella really wanted was for her family to be safe and happy. Playing video games with Kate was an easy way to do that.

“If this man is a plumber why doesn’t he have to use any of the skills of his trade to help him defeat the obstacles that he is faced with?”Bella asked.

“You know I never really thought about that.”Kate hadn’t even realized that Mario never did anything related to plumbing in any of the games he was featured in.

“He has a hammer.”Emmett said. After learning Bella didn’t know anything about video games he had been helping Kate teach Bella about them.

“Wouldn’t a wrench be more appropriate?”Athenodora was sitting next to Bella her body pressed tightly to Bella’s side enjoying the fact that she and Bella could touch in front of other people without worrying about repercussions.

“That would make more sense.”Alice agreed.

“Were you able to set up a meeting with the Irish coven?”Rosalie asked Tanya.

“I was. However Siobhan was hesitant to agree as she had heard all the rumors of what has been going on.”Tanya had to tell Siobhan Bella’s history and the kings’ plans for the Cullens before the coven leader would agree to meet up. Tanya hadn’t told her everything of course because not only was it not safe to talk over the phone Tanya didn’t think Siobhan would take the fact they killed the guard and Carlisle, Esme and Edward very well. Tanya was hoping that Siobhan would give her the chance to explain before reacting.

“I’m not surprised she was hesitant.”Jasper was still hesitant about being involved and the only reason he had agreed to go with the Denali was because if he and Alice didn’t they wouldn’t have been safe from the kings. Plus he believed in the Denali’s cause. The kings were tyrants who needed to be replaced and the Denali seemed to be the only ones with the means to actually be able to do it.

“Do you really think that they are going to take the thrones?”Heidi asked.

“I’m not sure but I truly hope they do because I really don’t want to be a queen.”Tanya couldn’t think anything she wanted less than being stuck in the castle dealing with vampire politics.

“I would be an amazing queen.”Kate said.

“You would try and enforce ridiculous laws just to prove you could. Why I bet the first law you would try to put in motion would be making the guards wear outrageous outfits.”Irina could easily see the power of being a queen going to Kate’s head and causing her to act like a dictator.

“The guard’s outfits are lame. They could use some updating.”Anything Kate could come up with would be nothing but an improvement to the guard’s current robes.

“I have to agree with Kate. The robes were old fashion and extremely uncomfortable. They also were hard to fight in because they constantly hindered our movements unless we ripped the material. That being something that Aro would have punished us for.”Heidi had happily accepted the clothing Rosalie offered her to change into when they were helping them pack to leave. She had always hated the robes and took great pleasure in burning hers before they left to hide the evidence that any of the guard had been there.

“Being punished for ruined clothing. Sounds like something Esme would have done.”Emmett had been on the receiving end of Esme’s anger many times for not being careful with his clothing.

“I never knew that Esme was so controlling of all of you.”Carmen hadn’t seen any animosity between the Cullen children and Esme. It was there between them and Carlisle and Edward but Carmen had always thought they cared for Esme.

“We never said anything because we were worried about what the repercussions of exposing her would be.”Rosalie told them.

“Was it really that bad?”Eleazar asked.

“It was horrible. Carlisle and Edward constantly threatened to give us to the kings if we ever stepped out of line.”Alice had hated every second she spent in the coven but that was where her gift guided her and Jasper.

“They would have done it to.”Irina could easily see Carlisle and Edward following through on their threats if the others went against them.

“I honestly think that if you guys didn’t show up that Carlisle would have offered us up for the advisor role.”Jasper had noticed the obsession Carlisle had with getting the position.

“It’s possible. I mean the idiot thought that he would be made a king if he turned Bella over.” Kate said.

“Something that would have never happened as the kings had no respect for animal drinkers. They wouldn’t have followed through on giving Carlisle the advisor role for that reason as well.”Bella knew that the kings would never align themself with anyone who drank animal blood.

“Speaking of animal blood. Are you and the queen going to change your diets?”Rosalie had noticed the red eyes of the mated couple and wondered if they were going to continue drinking human blood.

“I’m no longer a queen.”Athenodora didn’t want to be referred to as one ever again.

“Sorry.”Rosalie was still getting use to the fact that Athenodora was not Caius’ mate. Not that Rosalie doubted her and Bella’s mate bond. It was quite obvious to anyone who saw them interact how much the pair loved each other.

“We have discussed it and decided to wait until we finally settle down. That way we aren’t dismissed by other human drinkers who are prejudice of animal drinkers.”Bella really didn’t care what she fed off of but knew that she and Athenodora would be able to blend in with humans better if they had gold eyes instead of red. Also unless they got blood bags it would be impossible to hide their kills on the small island that they chose to settle on.

“That makes sense.”Jasper thought that was a good plan as animal drinkers didn’t get much respect from other vampires and in the future they were going to encounter a lot of vampires that they needed to make alliances with.

“Where have you guys been hiding?”Alice knew that the Volturi hadn’t been able to find the Denali and wonder how they stayed hidden.

“That’s none of your concern.”Allies or not Bella wasn’t going to advertise where they were living.

“What Bella means to say is we don’t want to reveal where we moved to to any unprotected minds.”Tanya had a feeling that she would be telling the Cullen children eventually as it was likely they were going to ask to be a part of their coven but didn’t want to risk it until they were officially Denalis and Bella gave them the block. Something that would only happen if the others agreed to take them in.

“That’s understandable.”Rosalie just hoped they would be told in the future because she was planning on asking if the Denali would let her and Emmett live with them. Alice and Jasper were probably going to ask as well.

“So what’s the plan to actually kill the kings?”Emmett was curious as the Denali hadn’t told them the details of how they were going to take the castle and kill the kings.

“We will be taking care of the that. You don’t need to be involved.”Bella didn’t want to have babysit the Cullens making sure they were safe when she had more important things to worry about.

“We want to help you.”Alice wanted to be a part of the Denali’s mission.

“None of us have the skill to infiltrate the castle and kill off the guards. Let alone win a fight against the kings.”Jasper may consider himself a good fight but that was against inexperienced newborns. He knew that he would not be able to match up to one of the guards who had been training for decades if not centuries. He definitely wouldn’t be able to measure up to the kings.

“We could still be useful. I mean we did pretty well against the guards yesterday.”Emmett didn’t want to left out of the fight.

“That’s only because they were lesser guards and we helped you.”Bella knew that the Cullens would have been overwhelmed if they hadn’t had been helped.

Rosalie cut Emmett off before he could argue.”I hate to admit it because I want to be involved as well but we would be a liability.”

“We could still do something.”Even if they couldn’t storm the castle Emmett knew that they could help in other ways.

“I’m sure as things progress we will find roles for each of you.”Tanya figured that they would need the Cullen’s help eventually.

“Yeah we are going to be toppling a regime and setting up a whole new one. There will be plenty of things to do other than fighting.”Kate said.

“You’re right.”Alice agreed.

“I want to know how you are going to convince the Irish coven to take the thrones?”Japser asked.

“Honestly I haven’t really got a set plan. I’m just going to tell them about everything the kings have been up to and explain our plan to take over the castle, kill the kings and offer our services as bodyguards until their rule is secured.”Tanya wasn’t going to try and trick the Irish coven into taking the thrones. She was just going to state the facts and hope they agreed.

“You really can’t do much else with Maggie’s gift.”Eleazar said.

“She would know right away if you were lying.”Irina had forgotten all about Maggie being a truth detector.

“That actually might work in our favor. She would know you are being truthful and aren’t trying to manipulate them.”Athenodora thought that Maggie’s gift was something that would help their cause.

“It is also another reason they would make good rulers. No one would be able to lie to them.”Heidi thought the Irish coven were the perfect replacement for the kings. The were good people who were known to not cause conflicts.

“Maggie’s gift will make them just as feared as Aro’s gift makes people fear the kings.”Kate knew that people would think twice about breaking the law when the couldn’t lie their way out of trouble.

“I think the fact that Maggie is unable to lie is something that will also bring them respect.”Bella knew that many didn’t trust Aro became he was a known liar. The fact that Maggie was always truthful would make people more loyal because they could trust what she said.

“The current kings are anything but truthful. I wasn’t exposed to many of their conversations but some of the ones I overheard were just them plotting and scheming. They were always looking for ways to take advantage of someone. It didn’t matter if they had to make up something they would do it further their goals.”Athenodora said.

“Lately I have been wondering about Carlisle’s relationship with them. He always claimed they were close friends but the kings brought an army to Forks to kill us without even investigating the claim and then there was the fact that Carlisle was trying to get an advisor role. That being something he had us told he previously had but had given it up when he chose to leave the castle. Also he never knew about Bella who had been there for centuries by the time he showed up.” Rosalie had begun to question Carlisle’s claims after Bella revealed herself. If he was as close to the kings as he had said then he would have known all about someone powerful enough to make the kings retreat when they had an overwhelming force on their side.

“Carlisle was not friends with the kings nor was he ever an advisor. Also he didn’t leave the castle voluntarily. The kings kicked him out.”Bella told her.

“What do you mean they kicked him out?”Alice had heard Carlisle say the kings begged him to stay.

“Carlisle was kicked out of the castle after he tried to free all the human prisoners the kings kept to feed from. The only reason they didn’t kill him was because they thought he was worth studying. They wanted to know what the effects of only drinking animal blood would have on a vampire.”Bella explained.

“Were they friends?”Emmett asked.

Bella shook her head.”No they couldn’t stand him and all his preaching about how it was against god’s will to feed from humans. He also preached about how wrong homosexuality was and had been beaten many times by occupants of the castle he pissed off with his constant trying to force his beliefs on others. If the kings hadn’t put out the order that he not be killed Carlisle wouldn’t have lasted an hour into his stay in the castle.”

“None of that surprises me.”Irina could easily believe Carlisle acted like that. The man had archaic views on most things. He didn’t preach about it often but when he did he was very passionate about how he felt.

“We only put up with him because of the four of you.”Tanya had met Carlisle in the early 1900’s and they weren’t very close. That changed when after he turned Rosalie. Then when Emmett, Alice and Jasper came along they put in a lot more effort to see the other coven as they had liked the new editions very much.

“It did seem odd to me that you even associated with Carlisle. He was against basically everything you stood for. Although he was always polite to your faces. It was in private that he really vented. I figured he only let us talk to you because not only did you drink from animals but you are a formable coven who are good to have as an ally.”Rosalie knew that Carlisle’s motives for keeping the Denali around were completely selfish because he hated their lifestyle and the things they had done in the past.

“Before you were turned I think we saw him maybe four or five times and they weren’t long visits. Nor did we really talk about anything that personal. It was more of checking in with an acquaintance. When he introduced us to Edward we had decided to cut ties with him because Edward was so insufferable. Then about two years later he came to Alaska with you. Even then we really didn’t know him that well but we got along with you so we invited him back to visit so we could see you. It wasn’t until after Alice and Japser joined that he started showing his true colors. By then we liked the four of you enough that it was easy to ignore him and Edward.”Tanya explained.

“Well I’m glad you put up with him because if you didn’t we would still be stuck with them.”Alice would forever be grateful for the Denali for saving them from Carlisle, Edward and Esme. She had already talked to Jasper and was planning on talking to Rosalie and Emmett later about asking Tanya to join their coven. Not only did Alice like them but they would the safest with the Denali then if they were alone or with anyone else. The fact that Bella and Athenodora were able to kill Caius and flee the castle without anyone catching them or leaving a trace of evidence behind was more than enough proof. Then there was the fact that they had killed the most prominent guard members without much effort. Alice knew that if they were a part of their family that they would never have to worry about their safety or being taken advantage of ever again.

“I have to say watching them burn to death and hearing their screams was very satisfying.”Rosalie was very happy that vampires had perfect memories because she could relive the event anytime she wanted. Something she had already done numerous times.

“It really was.”Jasper’s gift had been so overwhelmed with the others happiness, relief and satisfaction that he was easily able to ignore the fear, anger, pain and despair Carlisle, Esme and Edward were feeling. That let him enjoy the moment just as much as everyone else.

“I think I will have the same experience when I kill Aro.”Heidi was going to take her time with the man. He deserved nothing but pain before he died for everything he did to not only Heidi but all the other innocent vampires that he targeted for his person gain.

“I am going to enjoy killing Marcus.”Bella wanted the man dead for many reasons. The biggest one being that he fully supported Caius claiming Athenodora. He had many times encouraged Caius to have Chelsea put the bond fully in place.

“I am going to enjoy killing the guards who kept me prisoner.”Athenodora had a list of vampires she wanted to kill. Most of them spied on her and reported her every move to Caius. That or they prevented her from leaving her rooms. They may have been acting on orders but it was well known amongst the people Caius assigned to her that they weren’t mates. That meant they were complicit in keeping her captive and were just as guilty as Caius was.

“If I have to spend the rest of my life hunting down every person who was involved to get you your revenge then I will do it. No matter how dangerous it is.”Bella promised.

Alice held her hand over her heart.”That’s so romantic.”

“You think Bella offering to kill a bunch of people is romantic?”Emmett didn’t think killing was romantic.

“It’s not the fact that she is offering to kill them that is romantic. It’s the fact that she offered to dedicate her life to avenging her mate that is romantic.”Rosalie was in agreement with Alice. Bella pledging her life to making sure Athenodora got her revenge was very romantic.

Athenodora gave Bella a gentle kiss.”My Bella is extremely romantic.”

“Well she’s my sister of course she.”Kate said.

“What’s that supposed to mean?”Irina asked.

“Well Bella obviously learned all her moves from me because I am well known to have successfully wooed many throughout my lifetime.”Kate told her.

“You killed most of your romantic partners. Even some of the vampire ones.”Irina reminded her.” I don’t think that’s very romantic.”

“Hey I wooed them before I killed them.”Kate was very romantic when she put in the effort.

“I’m sure you did Kate.”Bella was positive Kate thought she did at least.

Kate smiled brightly.”See Bella knows I’ve got skills.”

“She is only agreeing with you because she feels bad for you.”Irina knew that Bella was just siding with Kate to stop the argument. Bella was the peacemaker amongst the sisters and had naturally fallen back into that role since they had reunited.

“Bella wouldn’t do that.”Kate knew Bella wouldn’t side with her unless she actually agreed with Kate.

“Of course I wouldn’t.”Bella lied. She was doing exactly that because didn’t want Kate to get her feelings hurt as it was obvious that Irina wasn’t above bringing Kate’s history into the argument.

Irina rolled her eyes.”Sure you wouldn’t Bella.”

“Anyway how much longer until we get there?”Bella asked changing the subject.

Tanya looked at her watch.”We should be getting ready to land very soon.”

“What is going to happen once the plane touches down?”Jasper asked.

“I have cars waiting for us at the airport that are going to take us to hotel. We aren’t meeting the Irish coven until tomorrow night so we have the rest of the day and all day tomorrow to do what we want. I however would prefer if we stay in the hotel incase someone recognizes us as I have no doubt that the kings have given our description to a lot of people.”Tanya wouldn’t be surprised if people in Ireland knew who they were. Vampires were everywhere.

“Boring.”Kate didn’t want to have to hang around the hotel for two days.

“Maybe you can spend some more time teaching me about video games as I didn’t really get to play much on the flight.”Bella figured that keep Kate busy.

“We do have a lot to go over still.”Kate would be more than happy to spend some time teaching Bella how to play.

Tanya gave Bella a grateful smile. Her sister would probably prefer spending some alone with her mate but instead volunteered to keep Kate distracted. It was exactly like Bella to put the family’s needs over her own.”That’s a good idea.”

“I’ll come by and help.”Emmett offered.

“I would appreciate that Emmett thank you.”Bella was coming to understand that Emmett was a lot like Kate in that he would likely get into trouble if he was bored. Rosalie giving her the same smile that Tanya gave was more than enough proof she was right.

“I was wondering if one of you would be willing to teach me about cell phones?”Athenodora asked.

“I can do that.”Rosalie wouldn’t mind keeping the former queen company while Bella was distracting Emmett.

“I’ll help.”Irina would like to get to know Bella’s mate better as they hadn’t really had the chance yet.

“Thank you.”Athenodora was very interested in learning how to use a cell phone because it would be a way for her and Bella to stay in touch even if Bella was shielded from view.

“Japer and I will come hang out with you guys too.”Alice didn’t want to be left out of the fun.

“I reserved the ViP suite for me, Irina, Heidi and Kate so why don’t we all just hang out there and if the mated couples would like their privacy they can go to their own rooms.”Tanya suggested.

“We would like that.”Carmen wanted to spend time with the family as well.

“Me too.”Heidi wouldn’t miss a chance to get to know her new family better.

“The we have a plan.”Tanya was pleased that everyone was getting along so well. It was what she hoped when the Cullens said they would going with them. The coven leader knew that Bella was weary of them and didn’t want them tagging along but Tanya liked the four vampires. She had always felt bad that they were stuck with Carlisle and regretted that she hadn’t offered them a place in the coven a long time ago. Especially after finding out how bad of a situation they were in with Carlisle, Esme and Edward. Tanya just needed to figure out a way to get Bella to like them as well. How to do that she wasn’t sure because although she had lived with Bella for a couple centuries her sister had been with the Volturi for almost a thousand years and many things about her had likely changed. Things that Tanya didn’t know about and made it hard for her to know how to speak to Bella about certain things. Then there was the fact that Bella had a mate as well. That meant that Tanya needed to get Athenodora to agree with letting the Cullens into the coven. Tanya was sure that wouldn’t be easy as the woman had very bad trust issues. Not that she blamed the former queen. Looking out the window Tanya sighed. She may have been happy to have Bella with them again but she hated that they had to deal with so much before they got to enjoy their reunion.
