“Cullens welcome to Voltaire.”Sulpicia’s voice rang through the throne room as Rosalie and the rest of her family entered. They had flown from Italy on the first flight they could find and Rosalie spent the plane ride marathoning Bella’s Star Light movies. They had helped Rosalie forget about her nervousness but as soon as they entered the castle it came back ten fold. Looking around the room Rosalie was surprised she didn’t see Bella there. It didn’t make sense because Rosalie was claiming a mate bond that could only be proven by Didyme with the use of her gift. Rosalie wasn’t sure how she was going to make the royals believe it without Bella being in the room with them.

“Thank you for the invitation your majesty.”Carlisle replied once he took his place with his family lined up in front of the queens’ thrones.

“Which one of you is trying to claim a mate bond with Bella?”Athenodora asked.

“Dora please be polite.”Sulpicia knew that her mate was upset as was she and Didyme were but that didn’t mean they had to be rude.

“That was me being polite.”If Athenodora acted how she wanted to she would have already killed the entire Cullen coven for the claim.

“Even if she asked it rudely the question still needs to be answered.”Didyme said.

Rosalie cleared her throat uncomfortably.”I am Bella’s mate.”

“You are the one claiming the bond?”Sulpicia asked.

“Yes your majesty.”Rosalie flinched at the many growls she heard from not only the queens but some of the guards in the room as well. It seemed that none of them were happy with the claim.

“What do proof do you have to support this claim?”Athenodora was very skeptical of Rosalie’s claim.

“I’m not sure how to prove it to you your majesty.”Rosalie had nothing but her word to go off of.

“I think the only real way to prove it is to bring in Bella.”Sulpicia would prefer not to expose Bella to the Cullens but it was the only way to prove or disprove the claim.

Rosalie perked up hearing that.”Bella is here?”

“Against our better judgement she requested to be here.”Athenodora didn’t want Bella to be there but the girl argued saying it was the only way to know if the bond was real.”That being said you are not to approach her or speak to her.”

“I’m surprised you are even allowing her to look at me.”Bella said as she entered the room following Victoria with Heidi trailing behind them.

“If I had it my way she wouldn’t be allowed in the same room as you.”Athenodora would have preferred to just kill the vampire for the claim.

“Bella.”Rosalie spoke before she could stop herself. She was beyond happy to see her mate but was very confused by the fact that Bella was wearing the same kind of robes that the queens and guards wore except for hers were purple a color Rosalie had never seen before.

“What did I say about speaking to her?!”Athenodora made a move to go after Rosalie but was stopped by Sulpicia’s hand on her arm.

“My love lets settle down. We need to know if the bond is real before you kill the girl.”Sulpicia turned her attention to Didyme.

”I can confirm the bond is real.”Didyme wasn’t pleased with the fact it was but she wouldn’t lie about it.

“Well isn’t this exciting.”Bella said.

“I don’t see how any of this is exciting.”Victoria didn’t not like the bond being proven to be real. That meant another vampire was trying to claim Bella and Victoria didn’t want to have to share Bella’s attention with anyone else. It was bad enough she had deal with the queens.

“How can’t you see a mate bond as being exciting? It’s what every vampire wants.”Bella corrected herself.”Well every vampire but you.”

“I have you I don’t need a mate.”Victoria didn’t want a mate because it would take time away from Bella. That and she feared that her mate would make her choose between the two and Victoria didn’t want to deal with that.

“Having a mate doesn’t affect our bond in any way.”Bella wished that Victoria wasn’t so insecure and would realize that Bella would never leave her.

“What exactly is that bond?”Rosalie was very curious and extremely jealousy of the obvious affection between Bella and the red head.

“Victoria and I have a familiar bond. We are sisters.”Bella told her.

“Familiar bonds are very rare.”Carlisle had only come across familiar bonds three times in his long lifetime.

“Not that rare as Bella has one with myself and my mates. She is our daughter and the Volturi princess.”Sulpicia was proud of that fact as she and her mates had always yearned for a child.

“If that’s true why is Bella still human?”Alice asked.

“That’s none of your business.”Bond or not Victoria didn’t want people knowing about Bella’s private life.

“It’s a legitimate question.”One Bella didn’t mind answering.”The reason I haven’t been changed is because I like my job and my mothers were nice enough to let me continue doing it.”

“You are human because you like acting?”Rosalie wasn’t sure what to think of that.

“I didn’t come across Victoria until after the first Star Light movie came out. We were actually in the middle of filming the second one when we met. She explained the laws to me and I asked if we could go before the queens and ask their permission for me to stay human a little longer. They agreed to let me so I could keep acting.”Bella explained.

“There are plans to change you then?”Carlisle asked.

“What a stupid question. Of course there are plans to change her.”Athenodora was more than happy to let Bella do what she loved but that didn’t mean that she would allow the human to grow old and die.

“I apologize it’s just that breaking that law usually leads to a death sentence.”Carlisle said.

“Bella is an exception to that law.”Sulpicia told him.

“I see.”Carlisle didn’t but wasn’t going to argue with the queens.

“That being said I think we need to discuss how the relationship with Rosalie will play out.”Didyme wasn’t going to let Rosalie think that she had control over Bella’s life now that they were bonded.

“What do you mean by that?”Rosalie had a feeling she wasn’t going to like whatever was going to be said.

“I mean that just because you have a mate bond with Bella doesn’t mean you are any more important to Bella than the other four vampires she is bonded to.”Didyme didn’t care if the bond Rosalie had with Bella was romantic the queen would not allow it to over take Bella’s life.

“Surely we will have some time alone together at least.”Rosalie wasn’t sure she would be able to function if she didn’t get private time with Bella.

“You don’t need to be alone with Bella.”Victoria shut that down right away.

”Vic, Rosalie is my mate and even though I don’t feel the bond as strongly as she does I would like the opportunity to get to know her better. The best way to do that is by ourselves without the rest of you breathing down my neck.”Bella predicted that spending time with Rosalie was going to be very hard. It didn’t matter though. Bella was a big believer in bonds and if her mother confirmed the mate one with Rosalie Bella would put in the effort to strengthen it.

“That doesn’t mean there won’t be rules for you two while you are alone.”Athenodora wasn’t going to allow any funny business to go on.

“There are rules for everything I do. Why wouldn’t there be rules for this?”Bella had rules for every aspect of her life. She knew having a mate bond wouldn’t change that.

“Well there will be stricter rules for spending time with Rosalie.”Sulpicia was of the same thought as her mate. She wasn’t going to allow any funny business on her watch.

“I’m sorry Rosalie. I know that having a mate is a joyous occasion and my over protective family is putting a damper on the celebration.”Bella was sad that Rosalie wasn’t experiencing the regular experience of a newly mated vampire.

“It’s still a joyous occasion.”Rosalie may be a little upset with the restrictions but it didn’t lessen her happiness at being mated.

“I agree and even though I know you are all against it I would like to take use the free time I have now to get to know Rosalie better.”Bella wasn’t surprised by the scowls and growls that filled the room. Most of them coming from her bond mates.

“You promised you would watch a movie with us.”Didyme reminded her.

“How about we invite Rosalie and her family to watch the movie with us?”Bella suggested.

“They don’t want to watch a movie with us.”Athenodora knew they would but hoped that they would take the hint and decline the invitation.

“What movie?”Alice asked.

“I was able to get a copy of the final cut of Assassin’s Midnight for the castle to watch.”Bella usually got the movies before they were released so that her mothers and the rest of the castle’s occupants got a chance to see them.

“We definitely want to watch that movie.”Rosalie didn’t care who was going to be in the room with her. There was no way she was going to miss the opportunity to see Bella’s new movie before it was released in the theaters.

Sulpicia sighed.”You may watch the movie with us but Bella is going to spend time with myself and my mates as she is only home for a few days.”

“Don’t worry I will make sure that I get some time to with you as well. Even if we have to wait until I leave the castle.”Bella told Rosalie.

“I would appreciate that.”Rosalie desperately wanted to spend time with her mate.

“We will talk about it later.”Victoria wasn’t going to agree to let Rosalie and Bella spend time together until she spoke to the queens and they set up certain restrictions and rules for the pair.

Bella rolled her eyes.”I’m sure we will.”

“Bella do you want some snacks to eat while you watch the movie?”Didyme asked already dismissing the Cullens presence from her mind.

“Just the usual.”Bella told her.

“I’ll get her stuff for her.”Heidi volunteered.

“Thanks Heidi.”Bella called out to the vampire as she watched her race out of the room.

“Let’s go Cullens. I want to watch this movie and send you on your way.”Athenodora was going to make sure the Cullens sat in the back row of the castle’s movie theatre far away from Bella.

“Mother be good.”Bella scolded.

Athenodora huffed.”I am being good.”

“Sure you are.”Bella expected a lot more snide comments and outright rude remarks before the movie even started.”Come on everyone we will show you were the theatre is.”

“Thank you Bella.”Rosalie happily followed along after her mate and the queens. She was very excited to see the movie and was hoping she could convince Bella to sit next to her. Rosalie doubted it would happen as it seemed that Bella’s mothers and Victoria were keen on keeping the mated couple apart. Rosalie wondered how they were going to navigate a relationship in the future as she didn’t think she would be given much access to Bella. Then again the queen did say Bella was only at the castle for a few days. Maybe Rosalie could go with Bella when she left. She would have to figure out a way to ask Bella without her other bond mates around as it seemed Bella was willing to explore their bond. Rosalie was counting on that willingness to overrule Bella’s other bond mates objections to them spending time together. Rosalie held back a sigh. This having a mate was a lot more complicated than she thought it would be but even with the complications she wasn’t upset to be mated to Bella. The human was exceptional and Rosalie knew that once they were established in their relationship the struggles would be worth it.
