Esme: Submissive Housewife or Secret Mastermind?
Added 2024-02-15 15:09:32 +0000 UTCOk so I always thought that Esme had more influence in the Cullen family than depicted in the books. Her background suggests otherwise but let's be honest she is vampire. That means she has the same instincts and feelings as other vampires. To me she wouldn't put up with taking orders. Especially from a pushover like Carlisle. I think we can all agree that they did not have a normal loving relationship. In both the books and the movies they barely touch each other and when they did it is more awkward than loving. I personally think she is the one who runs the show. She uses her motherly persona to manipulate everyone around her. It's like she has a gift that makes others love her and trust her. I don't know. What do you guys think? Is Esme a submissive housewife who does what her husband says or is she a secret mastermind who really is in charge of everything?

I see her as the head of the family and just tolerating Carlisle or just thinking she was stuck as his mate because of the sire bond and not being acclimated to the true nature of being a vampire because of his teaching and beliefs. I love stories where she breaks away from him and find her true mate in a badass like Garret or bringing Marcus back to the land of the living.
