The Guardian's Angel 2

Bella sighed as she left Rosalie alone with her sister. She knew she wasn’t supposed to have favorites when it came to her father’s children but Rosalie was definitely her favorite. Bella had watched over Rosalie since she took her first breath and had been watching out for her ever since. She still felt horrible for the events that led to Rosalie becoming a vampire but the alternative ways were much more horrific than the final events had been. This way at least she was able to retain her humanity and meet her mate sooner than she would have otherwise. It was that humanity that had caused Bella to sigh again.

Bella had known of Rosalie’s desire for a child. All growing up Rosalie had dreamed of being a mother. It was something Bella thought she would have been amazing at. Turning into a vampire made it so it was no longer possible but Bella had meant her promise to Rosalie all those years ago. She would make Rosalie’s dreams come true. It was just how did she go about making it happen. Her father would be no help in a situation like this so Bella would have to go to her mother. Out of her parents it was her mother that dealt with mortals the most. Her father may have created their very existence but it was her mother that cared for them like she did all of her own children.

“What has you looking so serious?” Bella smiled at the sound of Symphony’s voice.

“I was thinking of what I need to say to mother to sway her into my way of thinking.” Bella told her sister.

“Oh no, you are going to be pleading with her on behalf of one of your mortals.” Symphony sighed. “Bella you shouldn’t become so invested with those you are tasked to watch over. It’s not good for you.”

“I know it’s just this one is different.” Bella said.

“Everyone of them is different sister. You getting attached to them only leads you to heartbreak.” Symphony thought that out of all her brothers and sisters Bella was the most sensitive. Where as the others did their duty without blinking an eye, Bella put everything she had in each being she watched over. Many times when things went wrong Bella had gone to both of their parents to change the fate of someone. It rarely worked though and each time it didn’t Bella took the loss like it was her own.

“I know but this one really is.” Bella knew that Symphony didn’t understand her feelings towards mortals but then again none of their siblings did. Their lives fascinated Bella. The way they were free to choice their own destiny alone was amazing to her. Yes they had most of their lives planned out for them but it didn’t mean they didn’t have sway in how things went.

Symphony sighed. “I won’t keep you but please don’t be upset if mother denies your request.”

Bella simply waved good bye and continued her journey to her mother’s palace. She tried to think of all the ways she could explain why she wanted Rosalie to have the chance to have a child but it was hard. She knew her mother would of course hear her out but that just meant she needed to make sure she got her point across without it sounding like she was to personally invested in the outcome. It would be hard because Bella would never lie to herself and say she wasn’t. She wanted Rosalie to have a baby. Bella would give almost anything to make it happen but knew her mother was not one to make bargains. As she entered her mother’s palace she made her way to her mother’s study where she found the woman behind a desk looking through a stack of papers.

“Hello Bella. I was not expecting you so I suspect this is not a friendly visit.” Bella’s mother smiled at her. Bella was one of her most precious children. She was cherished by all because of her compassion and her sensitive nature. Bella cared for all even those who most would not and would never turn her back on anyone in need.

Bella felt her cheeks heat as her mother called her out right away. “I had wanted to discuss a matter with you.”

“I see and what matter would that be.” Although it pained her to do so Bella’s mother knew that she would likely be denying whatever request Bella would be making.

“I’m here to talk to you about Rosalie Denali.” Bella told her.

Bella had brought Rosalie to her attention before so Bella’s mother wasn’t surprised that she was the reason for her child being there. “What is that you wish to discuss?”

“She wishes to be a mother and it is weighing heavy on her heart. I fear she will never find her true happiness without the chance.” Bella said.

Bella’s mother sighed. “Bella you know that we are not here to grant wishes. Sometimes people don’t get everything they want out of life. That’s just the way things are. It wouldn’t be right if we answered every prayer.”

“I know mother it’s just Rosalie is different.” Bella hurriedly continued when she noticed her mother was going to cut her off. “I know they are all different but she really is. Her life hasn’t been the best and her changing into a vampire wasn’t the greatest of experiences. How much would it hurt if we granted this to her?”

“It is your birthday soon is it not?” Bella’s mother asked.

Bella nodded confused as to why that was important. “Yes in a month.”

“I will grant this to you. This is a gift but know that I will not be swayed as easily the next time so pick and chose what is important for those you look after.” Bella’s mother smiled as Bella threw herself onto her lap and hugged her. It was rare that her children showed such affection and she cherished it every time they did.

“Thank you mother.” Bella wanted to go to Rosalie right away and tell her the good news.

“Before you run off I want you to understand that you are going to be responsible for this situation.” This was the perfect way to give Bella something her and Bella’s father had been discussing for some time. “I want you to take care of any complications that come with the fact the child would the offspring of two female vampires. You may make yourself known to do so but keep a low profile otherwise.”

“You won’t regret this mother I promise.” Bella gave her mother a kiss on the cheek and ran from the room.

“Do you think she will be alright?” A male voiced asked.

Bella’s mother turned to Bella’s father. “Yes, she was never meant to stay here with us. Let’s just hope she takes the chance we are offering her and doesn’t squander it.”

“Bella would never squander such a gift. If anything we have to worry about her actually taking time to enjoy it for herself and not spend the whole time helping others.” Bella’s father said. Her mother just hummed in response and went back to the paperwork on her desk.
