Silver Assassin 21
Added 2024-01-17 17:00:35 +0000 UTC“I don’t think this is a good idea.”Rosalie perked up when she heard Queen Didyme’s voice. Turning her attention to the door to the training room she was excited to see Bella enter the room. Her excitement turned to confusion when following Bella into the room were not only Didyme but Athenodora and Sulpicia. Rosalie couldn’t think of a reason the three royals would come to the training room. Jane hadn’t mentioned anything. Rosalie shook off the confusion to focus on Bella. Her mate was covered like usual but was wearing a different mask. Rosalie tried to gauge Bella’s mood but the vampire seemed perfectly normal. Well normal for Bella.
“Hello Assassin.”Rosalie was disappointed when all she received was a wave in reply. She wanted Bella to take her hand so she could see for herself what Bella was feeling. Rosalie just wanted to make sure she was really as alright as she seemed.
“Hello your majesties.”Jane greeted.”We weren’t expecting your company.”
“Yes well the Assassin has decided to train with you and we didn’t want miss a chance to see them in action.”Athenodora loved to watch Bella beat on people. The queen always made sure to be in the training room when Bella decided to train with the guard. That training usually resulting in no less than half a dozen deaths.
“The Assassin is going to train with us?”Tanya wasn’t sure how she felt about that. On one hand Bella would probably teach them some very advanced fighting skill on the other Bella would probably beat them badly while she was doing the teaching.
“Against my objections yes they are.”Didyme didn’t think it was a good idea for Bella to train Rosalie and the sisters. Bella wasn’t known for her restraint and would more than likely end up hurting one of them.
“This is so great!!”Kate cheered. This is what she was hoping for when the Assassin had invited them to the castle to see the arcade and be involved in the Cullen’s punishment.
“I may help out as well.”Athenodora wanted to help Bella’s friends and Rosalie to learn how to protect themselves. They were important to Bella and the queen didn’t want anything to happen to them. It would devastate Bella if it did and the last thing her niece needed was anything to upset her.
“You are going to help us?”Rosalie hadn’t expected that. Not that it was unwelcome. Athenodora was known as the warrior queen. Besides Bella she was probably the best person to learn to fight from.
“I thought that I would step in if the Assassin needed someone to help demonstrate things.”Athenodora was going to let Bella lead the training. Over the years Athenodora had learned a lot more about fighting from Bella than Bella learned from her. The girl had a natural fighting instinct that was unrivaled by any vampire, human or other supernatural that the queen had ever encountered before.
“I may join in as well.”Sulpicia may not have the moniker of the warrior queen but she was a great fighter. Fighting was something she enjoyed very much and had been just as involved in the battles that led to the Volturi’s rise to power as Athenodora.
“We appreciate the help.”Tanya wasn’t exactly sure what to make of the queens joining them but was more than willing to learn from them. This was a good opportunity for her and her sisters to better their skills. The coven leader didn’t have her family train that often. Something that she should have been better about.
“With that said Assassin how do you want to do this?”Jane asked Bella. Bella took off her glove and held out her hand for Jane to take. Taking it Jane took a moment to go through Bella’s thoughts.”The Assassin would like for the sisters and Rosalie to pair up and fight each other to see where their skills are at before we start. They ask that Kate not use her gift.”
“I can do that.”Kate wasn’t going to use her gift anyway. She wanted to learn how not to rely on it like she usually did. After meeting Bella and learning of her shield Kate had realized that it wouldn’t always be something that could use. That made her determined to learn how to fight without it.
“Good now you pair up and begin fighting at anytime.”Jane instructed.
“I’ll go against Rosalie.”Irina thought she was closest to Rosalie in skill level.
“That’s fine.”Rosalie wasn’t looking forward to actually fighting. She was sure she was going to embarrass herself in front of not only Bella but Jane and the queens as well.
Kate smirked at Tanya “I’ll go easy on you.”
“Take this seriously Kate.”Tanya didn’t want Kate to fool around and irritate Bella and the queens.
“I am.”Kate said.
“Alright began when ever you want to.”Jane watched as Rosalie and Irina charged each other. She could already see that they would have their work cut out for them to get them in fighting shape.
“Tanya and Kate are better than I thought they would be.”Athenodora commented.
“Rosalie is exactly at the skill level I thought she would be at.”Sulpicia winced as she watched Rosalie take a punch to the face.
“That isn’t that much of a surprise. I doubt Carlisle let her or the other two he controlled train.”Didyme knew he didn’t because it would have given them the skills to fight back.
“What do you think Assassin?”Jane asked Bella. Taking Bella’s hand in her own Jane sighed.”I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“What do they have planned?”Athenodora was excited to find out what Bella was planning for the group. The girl was ruthless when it came to training the guard so the queen knew that Bella would have something fun in mind for her friends and mate.
“She wants to fight each of them individually and correct them as she goes.”Jane didn’t think that Bella fighting anyone was a good idea.
“Absolutely not.”Didyme shut that down right away. There was no way she was letting Bella fight anyone. Bella held out her hand and the queen went over Bella’s thoughts.”Fine but if it gets out of hand I am putting an end to it.”
“Everyone can stop now.”Jane called out.
“How did we do?”Kate asked.
“You did alright but there is a lot of work to do to get you into proper fighting shape.”Jane noticing the embarrassed expression on Rosalie’s face was quick to reassure her.”It’s not your fault Rosalie. It’s Carlisle’s. He obviously didn’t let you train for fear you would be able to use your skill to get away for him.”
Rosalie knew Jane was right but it didn’t make her feel any better.”I still wish I had some skill.”
“That’s why we are doing this. Now that we have evaluated you the Assassin would like to fight each of you individually and correct you as the fight goes on.”Jane told them.
“We are going to fight the Assassin?”Tanya wasn’t sure she wanted to do that.
“They have promised not to go all out and will refrain from removing any limbs or causing any scarring.”Jane wasn’t sure if Bella would stick to that promise but if Didyme was allowing it then Jane would allow it as well.
“I think that’s fair then.”Irina wasn’t that keen on fighting Bella but the fact that they were probably going to learn enough to increase their fighting skills tenfold made it worth it.
“Can I go first?”Rosalie was very excited to learn from Bella. It was exactly what she had been hoping for when she had found out about the Assassin being her mate.
“Oh man I wanted to go first.”Ever since she hear rumors of the Assassin Kate had wanted to see if she could beat them in a fight.
“You will get your turn. Now Rosalie just get set up and then you can begin.”Jane was going to keep her eyes on Bella mostly to make sure that she didn’t lose control and actually hurt Rosalie.
“I got this.”Rosalie mumbled to herself. She stood across from Bella and taking a deep breath she put her hands up. As soon as she was set Bella attacked. Rosalie was trying as hard as she could but she couldn’t block the many punched Bella threw at her. Just as soon as they started they ended.”I didn’t even block one hit let alone land one on you.”
“The Assassin didn’t go as hard as I thought they would.”Athenodora was somewhat disappointed that Bella didn’t give Rosalie a proper beating.
“Maybe this will work out fine then.”Didyme wasn’t truly counting on it but was hopeful that no one would end up maimed or killed by the time Bella was done.
“How do I block you when you come at me like that?”Rosalie asked Bella. She happily took Bella’s hand after she took off her glove. Rosalie closed her eyes and watched the fight from Bella’s perspective and her thoughts on how Rosalie could do better.”I see what you mean I was basically reacting to your punches instead of actually trying to block.”
“What did they tell you?”Sulpicia wondered if Bella had the same things the queen saw that Rosalie needed to improve on.
“They showed me how I wasn’t really even trying to block them I was just reacting to being hit.”Rosalie told her.
Bella pointed to Athenodora. The queen happily joined Bella.”You want me to show her how it’s done?”
“You want me to fight the queen?”Rosalie sighed in relief when Bella shook her head.”What are you going to do then?”
“They are going to fight me so they can show you how to block.”Athenodora took a fighting stance.”You should probably go stand with the others.
“Good idea.”Rosalie didn’t want to get caught in the middle of the pair fighting.
“This is so rad.”Kate wasn’t expecting to get to see the Assassin fight the warrior queen. It was almost as good as seeing the Cullens get killed in the arena.
“Shit.”Tanya said as she watched Athenodora attack Bella. The queen was definitely not holding back as she not only threw punches but tried to kick Bella as well. Tanya was shocked with how easy Bella blocked each hit. She knew Bella was a good fighter but after learning about Bella’s gift assumed that Bella relied on that for defense. That was not the case as Bella didn’t seem to be using her gift at all.
“I want to learn to be that good.”Rosalie would settle for being half as good as Bella. If she was then she could be in a better place to ask for a position in the guard. That way she would be able to go on missions with Bella like she wanted.
“Are you paying attention to how the Assassin is blocking?”Jane asked the group.
“It seems like her body isn’t a rigid as Rosalie’s was and her hands are always alternating what part of her body they are guarding.”Irina said.
“Exactly. That way it doesn’t matter where she is being targeted she has some way to prevent themselves from being hit. You will also see that their feet are always moving. If you just stand there you make yourself an easier target. By moving around your opponent will have a hard time targeting you because you won’t be in the same place for long.”Jane explained.
“I always thought that just setting your feet was the best technique but watching the Assassin I can the benefit of moving around.”Tanya said.
“Also if you’re constantly moving you can use your environment to your advantage. If you are in a fight with someone who is trying to kill you it isn’t smart to just stand there and trade punches. You should be looking for cover and trying to catch them off guard. To do that you can throw things at them or even drop things on them. On one of my missions with the Assassin we were dealing with a bunch of newborns. To keep them from getting away the Assassin dropped an entire building on them. It trapped them so we were able to kill all of them before they fled.”Jane told them.
“Wait the Assassin dropped a building on a bunch of newborns?”Kate wished she had seen it happen.
“They used their gift to rip a large warehouse off its foundation and toss it at the group as we were trying to contain them. It caused enough distraction to not only trap the ones they hit with the building but the ones that weren’t hit. They were so shocked they froze and that gave us enough time to kill them before they got away.”Jane had laughed out loud seeing the reaction of all the vampires there at the time. Even the guard members froze at the sight. Jane hadn’t been to surprised. Bella was very irritated with the situation and Jane had been expecting her to do something drastic to finish the job. The royals had been amused as well. Even Didyme had laughed when Bella had shown her what she had done.
“They are really creative with their shield aren’t they?”Rosalie wondered what other kinds of things Bella could do with her shield. It seemed that her mate was very inventive when it came to what she did with it. Rosalie figured it was Bella’s unique way of thinking that gave her the ideas because Rosalie doubted that a normal vampire would ever push their limits the way Bella did. In Rosalie’s mind it just showed how brilliant Bella really was.
“The Assassin is very creative. Whether it be with their shield, their art or anything else they do.”Didyme thought Bella was the most creative person she had ever met. The girl’s mind being fractured allowed her to look at the world through a different perspective. It made her see things that others didn’t. Didyme actually somewhat pitied those who never got to experience Bella’s unique way of processing things. It was something the queen enjoyed every time Bella allowed her to touch her.
“I want to see some of their sculptures.”Rosalie really wanted to see the one Bella did of her.
“Depending on what the Assassin has planned when we finish here I will show you some that are displayed around the castle.”Jane offered.
“I would like that.”Rosalie easily agreed.
“Until then let’s focus on training.”Jane said.
“I think I want to go against the Assassin next time.”Sulpicia wanted a chance to go all out and release some of the anger she had been holding in since they had been told about the Cullens. She may have gotten to beat on them but she had to hold back because the five of them were so weak if she actually put any kind of effort into hurting them she would most likely kill them. Fighting Bella would give her the opportunity to safely release that anger without worrying about hurting anyone.
“It seems like they are done with Athenodora.”Didyme was pleased that Bella didn’t seem to hurt her fellow queen to badly.
“I want to try out some of the blocks they used.”Rosalie said. She wondered if Bella would want to hang out after training. Rosalie was having a good time and had already learned a bunch of new stuff but wanted a chance to spent time with Bella and have Bella’s complete attention. That way she could actually see for herself that Bella was alright. Her mate was acting just fine but Rosalie wanted to make sure she was. That way if she wasn’t Rosalie could help her work through it. Not that Rosalie knew how exactly to do that. While Bella was locked in her rooms Rosalie had done a bunch of research on mental illnesses and learned a few techniques that might be helpful for her to use with Bella. They weren’t sure fire ways of course because each mental illness was different. So even though Bella had certain symptoms it didn’t mean that Bella would react to the treatments the same way as someone else with the same symptoms did. It made it hard for Rosalie to know how to help but she was going to try. Bella deserved to have a supportive mate and Rosalie was going to be that to her. The first step to do that was to learn how to fight. That way she would have a way to relate to Bella as it was obviously Bella’s biggest coping skill. Focusing her attention on Sulpicia who had taken Athenodora’s place Rosalie vowed to herself that she wouldn’t rest until she was just as skilled as the royals guard. It would be the only way she could prove she was worthy of Bella and there was nothing she wouldn’t do to prove to everyone that fate made the right choice when they paired her with the dangerous vampire.

Rereading this chapter has just reiterated the discovery of Athenodora fighting being my new sexuality. I am picturing Rosalie sitting with a laptop, diligently googling “torture victim treatments” and “nonverbal panic attacks” and hilariously “vampire PTSD”
