“I’m not surprised that Edward is the first one they caught.”Kate said. She was standing next to Tanya and Irina on the side of the queen’s thrones. She would prefer to be next to Bella but the newborn was standing in between Sulpicia and Didyme’s thrones holding Didyme’s hand with both her mates standing right behind her. Rosalie looked to be in better spirits than when Kate had last seen her and Kate didn’t know if that was because she actually felt better or the fact that Rosalie would finally get a chance at Edward had made her happy enough to shake off Emmett’s betrayal. It didn’t matter to Kate either way. What mattered to her was that they got Edward and she was finally going to get her chance to beat on him. She had been waiting for decades to get her hands on him.

“Neither am I.”Victoria had expected it to Edward or Esme who they got first.

“It seems that instead of trying to flee like the others with him when they realized the guards where there he stayed and tried to fight them off.”Athenodora knew that Edward was arrogant but had at least thought he was smart enough to try and save himself when the guards came.

“How many were they able to capture?”Tanya asked.

“8 vampires in total. 2 got away. We have their identities so they will be easy to track down.”Sulpicia told her.

“That’s not too bad.”Irina said.

“Are you ok?”Bella asked Rosalie. Her mate’s body was stiff and she looked ready to attack.

“I just can’t wait to get my hands on him.”Rosalie was going to make Edward wish he was dead by the time she was done with him.

“That will have to wait until we question him.”Didyme said.

“Here he comes.”Kate perked up when the throne room doors opened and a guard walked into the room with Edward being dragged behind him by two other guards. Edward was struggling the best he could but it was useless against the vampires holding him.

“Your majesties I present Edward of the Cullen coven.”The guard announced.

“Bring him forward.”Sulpicia ordered.

Edward growled when the guards pulled him to stand before the queens. Once he was steady on his feet he took in the occupants of the room zeroing in on Bella.”Bella my love don’t worry I’m here to save you.”

“Save me from what?”Bella asked in confusion.

“I’m here to save you from the usurpers.”Edward told her.

Bella put her hand on Sulpicia’s shoulder when she heard her mother growl.“Why would I need to be saved from the queens?”

“Because they have forced you away from your true mate by using Chelsea to break our bond.”Edward knew the queens had done something because he no longer felt the pull he felt when he was around Bella when she was human.

“Chelsea is dead you idiot.”Athenodora said.

“No she is not.”Edward knew for a fact that Chelsea was alive. His lack of feelings for Bella proved it.

“We were the ones who killed her.”Sulpicia had enjoyed every moment of taking the woman’s life.

“Then it is Rosalie using the sire bond to force Bella to ignore our bond.”Edward should have known Rosalie would have done something like this. She was always jealous of Edward’s bond with Bella.

“Why are we listening to this idiot?”Athenodora asked.

“Good point. Edward Cullen you are before us today to be tried for your crimes.”Sulpicia said getting back to the topic at hand.

“If anyone should be tried for any crimes it should be you not me!”Edward was no criminal. Not like the queens who stole the thrones after murdering their own mates.

Sulpicia ignored Edward’s outburst.”The crimes you are being charged with are treason, facilitating a false mate bond, telling a human about the existence of vampires and leaving them with the knowledge without changing or killing them, attempted kidnapping of the Volturi princess consort and most damning of all attempted kidnaping of the Volturi princess.”

“I have done none of those things.”Edward denied.

“Let’s start with the first charge. Treason. How do you plead?”This was all just a formality but Sulpicia wanted to do everything by the book.

“You are the ones who have committed treason. I was just helping to restore the rightful ruler to the throne.”Edward said.

“Who would the rightful ruler be?”Athenodora had feeling she knew who he claimed was the rightful ruler but wanted to hear him say it.

“As the kings are dead it is only right that Carlisle their most trusted confidant take the throne.”Edward was going to see that happen very soon because the queens weren’t strong enough to defeat his sire and their allies.

Athenodora laughed.”You think Carlisle is fit to rule?”

“Carlisle is the only vampire alive that is fit to rule.”Edward told her.

“It’s seems we can move on to the next charge as Edward has admitted his guilt.”Sulpicia knew it would be easy to get Edward incriminate himself.

“I have admitted no such thing.”Edward hadn’t incriminated himself. He had only spoken the truth.

Sulpicia once again ignore him.”I would ask you how you plead to count two of facilitating a false mate bond but we have overwhelming evidence to prove you guilty so we will just skip to the next crime you are being accused of.”

Edward growled“I am Bella’s true mate!!”

“No I am Bella’s true mate.”Rosalie roared as she shot around Bella and tackled Edward to the floor. She wasted no time getting her hands around his throat only to be stopped by two sets of arms pulling her off him.”Let me go.”

“Can’t do that sweetheart. We aren’t done questioning him yet.”Bella had tried to grab Rosalie before she got to Edward but her mate was beyond pissed off and it gave her an extra bit of speed that prevented Bella from stopping her.

“Rosalie you will get your chance with him. Let us just get the information we need and then you can take his head.”Victoria promised.

Rosalie stopped struggling and took a deep breath to calm herself.”You’re right. He needs to be questioned but after that he is mine.”

“You can’t kill him until the rest of us get a chance at him.”Kate said. She wasn’t going to miss out on her chance to beat on Edward.

“Now that we have dealt with that let’s move on to the next charge.”Sulpicia had expected Rosalie to fight a lot harder to take Edward’s head. She was happy that the blond vampire didn’t because she knew that her own mates wanted some time with the boy.

Edward jumped up from the ground and smoothed out his clothing. He glared at Rosalie.”You’re sick! Forcing Bella through the sire bond to be your mate. I also knew you were a degenerate.”

“Idiot.”Bella grabbed Rosalie around the middle and held her in place.“You can’t kill him yet.”

“Anyway. Count three leaving a human with the knowledge of vampires without changing or killing them. How do you plead?”Sulpicia asked.

“I chose to leave Bella to protect her and let her live a long happy life as a human.”Edward would make the same choice again. Bella didn’t belong in the vampire world. She definitely wasn’t meant to be a vampire.

“So you plead guilty. Now on to the last two counts. You are accused of attempting to kidnap the Volturi Princess Consort and the Volturi Princess. How do you plead?”Sulpicia couldn’t wait to hear what convoluted reason Edward had for trying to get Bella and Rosalie back.

“Bella is no princess and Rosalie is not her consort.”Edward said.

“Bella is not only the Volturi Princes but as her mate Rosalie is the Volturi Princess consort. Both of them you tried to kidnap. Now how do you plead?”Sulpicia asked again.

“I wasn’t trying to kidnap anyone. I was trying to get Bella out your clutches and Rosalie to return home.”Edward told them.

“What was your plans to achieve those goals?”Didyme asked.

“My plans are my own business.”Edward wasn’t going to tell the queens anything.

“I think that should conclude our questioning.”Athenodora was bored with the formalities. She wanted to get to the fun stuff.

“Bring the boy to me.”Sulpicia ordered the guard.

“What are you doing? Stop right this instant.”Edward struggled as hard as he could but it was no use. His gift had stopped working once he entered the castle and without his gift he couldn’t predict what the guards were going to do.

“Give me his hand.”Sulpicia took Edward’s hand reluctantly not liking the fact that she had to touch the boy. Once the guard gave it to her she closed her eyes and watched all Edward’s thoughts and memories play on the back of her eyelids. Opening her eyes she sighed.”You poor boy.”

“What did you see?”Didyme asked.

“Carlisle has twisted the boy’s mind from the very beginning. Not only that but Edward had picked Rosalie out before Carlisle changed her. It was the pair’s plan to turn her and force her into a false mate bond with Edward.”Sulpicia wasn’t surprised by the many growls coming from the vampires in the room.

“You son of bitch!!”Bella took off after Edward shaking off not only both her mates from stopping her but Didyme and Sulpicia as well. She punched Edward in the face hard enough he slammed into the wall opposite the the thrones and left a large body shaped indent in the marble.

Edward stumbled out of the wall and looked at Bella in shock.”Bella what have they done to you?”

“Got me away from you!!”Bella jumped towards Edward with her leg out kicking him in the face causing part of his head to detach from his neck.

Athenodora took this as her moment to step in. She went to Bella and wrapped her arms around the newborn happy that Bella’s shield didn’t keep her away.”Alright before you kill him let the rest of us have our chance.”

“I wasn’t going to kill him yet. I was saving that for after I used my gift on him.”Bella said.

“If you use your gift on him then he will pass out and none of us will get a turn.”Athenodora told her.

Bella sagged in her mother’s arms.”You are right.”

“Of course I am. Now how about you give the rest of us a chance and then you use your gift on him.”Athenodora suggested.

“Of course mother.”Bella replied.

“Mother?”Edward asked as he used venom to reattach his head. He couldn’t believe that Bella had actually attacked him.

“Yes Bella is the Volturi princess a role she earned by being not only my bond child but my mates’ bond child as well.”Athenodora didn’t owe him any explanations but would never miss the chance to claim Bella.

Edward shook his head sadly.”So not only have they physically altered you but they have manipulated you into thinking you were bonded to them.”

“They didn’t alter me you idiot. The changes happened during my turning.”Bella told him.

“That’s what they want you to believe. Why I bet they did it in hopes that it would make me not recognize you and dismiss our mate bond.”Edward wouldn’t put it past the queens to try and do anything to break him and Bella up.

“Seriously why are we talking to him instead of hurting him?”Kate wanted to get to the beatings.

“Good point. Bella you will get your chance at him again after the rest of us are done with him. Now who wants a turn?”Sulpicia asked.

“I’m going to wait until Carlisle.”Tanya may have hated Edward but it was Carlisle who had wronged her and her family the most.

“I’m not missing my chance.”Kate said even though she wasn’t sure how much Edward could take.

“I’m personally waiting for Alice so I will skip this punishment.”Irina had always wanted a chance to hurt the seer. The small vampire had always rubbed Irina the wrong way. She was a manipulative person who had numerous times insulted not only Irina but her sisters by commenting on how they lived their lives and what they had done in the past.

“I am waiting for Carlisle so I’ll skip out on Edward as well.”Sulpicia was interested but was of the same thought as Kate. The boy wouldn’t be able to handle all of them.

“We are both going to take our turn.”Victoria said Rosalie nodding in agreement.

“I was planning on taking a turn but I think I’ll wait for Carlisle and Esme.”Didyme wanted the Cullen matriarch for her false claim of being Bella’s mother.

“So I guess it’s just the four of us.”Athenodora was more than pleased that not everyone was going to join in on beating Edward. It would give her more of a chance to cause the boy pain.

“You think any of you have a chance against me?”Edward laughed at the very idea.

“We know we do.”Victoria told him.

Edward set himself up in a fighting stance.”Once I beat the four of you it would only be fair for you to let me go.”

“You know what, why not? If you can beat the four of us I will personally escort you out of the castle.”Athenodora easily agreed.

“Then to make it an even fight you should give me my gift back.”Edward said.

“What does your gift have to do with us?”Rosalie asked.

“As soon as I came into the castle it stopped working. If you want me to fight you I demand you give it back.”Edward still expected himself to win a fight without his gift but if he had it it would make things easier.

Sulpicia looked at Bella.”Are you blocking his gift from working on all the castle inhabitants?”

“I don’t think I am.”The only time Bella used her gift in the castle was against the guards and Emmett.

“Maybe it’s like when she protected us in Alaska and she’s doing it without knowing she’s doing it.”Irina wouldn’t be surprised if Bella’s gift became stronger once she was turned.

“Possibly.”Sulpicia wished they had a way to know for sure but without Eleazar being able to use his gift on Bella they would only know by trial and things like this with finding out randomly.

“We can figure it out later. Now then Edward you have been found guilty of your crimes and your punishment is you are going to be beaten to death.”Athenodora was just as interested in Bella’s gift but wanted to get back to dealing with Edward.

“Not only am I not going to be beaten but I am going to beat the four of you and gain my freedom.”Edward put the fact that Bella was strong enough to shield the entire castle in the back of his mind. Knowing it gave him even more incentive to win this fight because with Bella on their side then it would be easy to overthrow the queens and the guard. He didn’t need to focus on that right then. He needed to focus on the four female vampires that were beginning to circle him.

Rosalie stepped up first and punched Edward as hard as she could in the face causing him to fly into Kate’s arms.”That felt good.”

“How dare you hit me you harlot!!”Edward shrugged off Kate’s arms and rushed Rosalie. He received a kick in the stomach for his efforts. Grabbing his middle Edward slumped to the floor.

Athenodora shook her head at the pitiful boy.“So predictable. Only two hits and he has already given up.”

“I have not given up she only got lucky.”Edward stood slowly and got back into his fighting stance. He was rethinking his original plan to tackle Rosalie and remove her head. She must had trained with the guard because there was no way she would have been able to touch him when she lived with the Cullens.

Victoria punched Edward in the side of his head.”What about me did I get lucky?”

“I don’t think he likes you very much.”Kate said as Edward flew into Athenodora’s arms after the hit and immediately started trying to punch the queen.

Athenodora blocked each punch easily. Getting bored she kicked Edward’s knee causing the lower part of his leg to snap off from his body.”That’s fine with me because I don’t like him either.”

“You’…re…going….to…pay….for….that.”Edward gasped out as he tried to get to his leg so he could reattach it.

“It’s a good thing I’m rich.”Athenodora stomped down on his left hand that was pressed against the floor causing all of his fingers to shatter and pieces to break off.

Kate laughed.”I think I’m going to use that line in the future.”

“You bitch!!”Edward pushed through the pain trying to gather the pieces of his hand but before he could he was kicked in the back forcing him to fall face first onto the floor.

“I don’t like that word.”Rosalie said.“I like what you did to his fingers. Let’s do that to other hand and his remaining foot as well.”

“Good idea.”Kate straddled Edward’s back and pulled his right arm away from where he was trying to hide it under his body and held it out.

Victoria using all her strength jumped in the air and stomped her foot down on his hand. The impact caused a lot more damage than what the queen did. In response Edward screamed out in pain.”I usually get annoyed when my victims scream but this time I rather enjoy it.”

“Who gets the honor of taking off his shoe?”Kate didn’t want that job.

“I’ll do it. I want to take his toes off why I’m at it.”Rosalie said. She grabbed Edward’s foot and ripped his shoe off without untying it. Once it was off she slowly twisted his pinky toe off. Edward didn’t do more than whimper so Rosalie grabbed his big toe and slowly clawed through it with her finger nails. That seemed to hurt a lot more as Edward began screaming again.”That’s better.”

“I never thought of taking toes as a way of torture. Then again most of my victims break after removing two or three fingers. Even vampires.”Athenodora was going to add removing toes to her torture arsenal. It would be something fun to do when she wanted the person to really suffer.

“I want to crush his foot.”Kate said. She waited until Rosalie finished taking Edward’s toes and then copying Victoria she jumped in the air, activated her gift so it covered her whole body and landed hard on Edward’s foot. The boy began screaming and begging for it to stop. Kate however did not and simply stepped on Edward’s back so her gift would still affect him.

“Is it wrong to love the sound of someone begging for their life?”Bella asked.

“Not if it’s Edward who is the one doing it.”Tanya found she enjoyed the sound as well.

“Kate let him go. Then let’s take his limbs and let Bella finish him off.”Sulpicia was enjoying watching the scene but seeing her mate in action was making her incredible aroused and she wanted to get both her mates alone to deal with it.

“Please Bella help me.”Edward mumbled through the unbearable pain. He didn’t understand how everything turned out how it did. Even if he was bested by the four women Carlisle’s allies should have stepped in to protect him.

“You dare look to my mate for help!!”Rosalie growled as she flipped Edward over on his back and straddled him.”Not only will she not be helping you but that will the last time you lay your filthy eyes on her.”

“SHIT!!”Kate exclaimed. She wasn’t sure what Rosalie was going to do to Edward but ripping both of his eyes out was not it. Kate found the scene both disturbing and entertaining. She had never seen anyone human or vampire have their eyes ripped out. It was quite a fascinating thing to watch. Especially when Rosalie threw the eyes ball to the ground, stood off of Edward and stomped each of them causing them to crumble into dust.

“I didn’t think a vampire’s eye ball was that delicate.”Didyme said.

“MY EYES!!”Edward screeched.

Victoria put her foot on his chest and grabbed his arm. She twisted it as she pulled causing it to separate from Edward’s shoulder.”That’s what you get for having the audacity to think Bella would ever side with you.”

“HELP!! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP.”Edward screamed.

Sulpicia sighed.”Edward you fool no one is going to help you. Carlisle lied. His allies will not protect you.”

“Carlie will save me!”Edward knew his father wouldn’t let him die. Not only did Carlisle love him Edward was an important member of the rebellion. Without him they would never be able to overthrow the queens.

Athenodora took his other arm.”You were so sure you were going to gain your freedom and now you are begging for help.”

“You took my gift!!”Edward hissed out through the pain.

“So you admit that without your gift you are useless.”Irina was sure even with his gift Edward wouldn’t have won the fight.

“You cheated!!”Edward said.

Rosalie grabbed his leg and put a foot on his stomach and twisted and pulled it off.”No you cheated when you used the family to trick Bella into believing she was mated to you.”

“Bella is my mate.”Edward wasn’t going to let Rosalie say otherwise.

Bella walked up to Edward and look over what was left of his body. It was hard for her to believe that she actually thought she was meant to spend eternity with the boy.“You are so pitiful. I hate the fact that I ever thought I loved you.”

“Bella please. They are lying to you. If you help me we can get you to Carlisle. He can break the mental control and then he will able to fix the physical damage they did to you.”Edward knew that Carlisle could fix his eyes as well.

“I almost don’t want to use my gift on you. It seems to kind to have you unaware when your head gets ripped off.”Bella wanted Edward to have a more painful death.”As a matter of fact I think we should wait to kill you.”

“What do you have planned Bella?”Athenodora asked.

“I think that I should use my gift on Edward but instead killing him afterwards we throw him in the dungeon and burn his torso with his head attached in front of Carlisle.”Bella thought that was the perfect punishment.

“He is Carlisle’s most prized possession. By killing him that way not only will it be extremely painful for Edward but for Carlisle as well.”Tanya liked the idea of Carlisle having to watch his golden boy die. She definitely liked the idea of Edward being burned with his head attached to his torso. That meant he would feel every piece of his body burning.

“Then it’s settled. Bella will use her gift on him then he will be put in the dungeon where he will be held until Carlisle is captured and we can burn him in front of his sire.”Didyme was happy with the plan. It would bring Carlisle much more anguish then just telling him the boy was dead.”Bella you can begin at anytime.”

Bella focused her eyes on Edward and felt her gift come to her. She wasn’t completely in control of it but it worked just fine when she was angry. Something that being in Edward’s presence made her. Narrowing her eyes she thought about every moment of her human life that he manipulated. Every time she questioned the bond and he reassured her it was because she was human. She remembered every kiss that he initiated that she didn’t want and every time he bad mouthed Rosalie. All the horrible things he said about the blond replayed in her mind. The anger grew to the point Bella felt like she was going to burst out of her skin then all of sudden white hot fury tore from her body and Edward started screaming and violently thrashing around on the floor.

“He didn’t act like that when I used my gift.”Kate was very disappointed that her gift didn’t elicit even a fraction of a reaction that Bella’s did. She would have to start practicing again. She hadn’t done anything in centuries. Maybe it was time to get back to training.

“Jane doesn’t get that reaction either.”Athenodora had never seen the kind of reaction Bella got of her victims before. Compared to Bella Jane’s gift seemed to be a relaxing spa treatment.

The room fell silent with only the sounds of Edward’s screams as they all watched Edward in the throws of pain. After what seemed like an eternity the screams stopped and Bella staggered. Victoria was quickly by her side holding her up.”Are you ok?”

“Yeah that was just a little more an intense than the last times I’ve done it.”Bella blinked her eyes a few times trying to clear the dark spots from her vision.

“We need you to speak to Eleazar about what was different this time than last time. I don’t like you having a physical reaction to you using your gift.”Didyme didn’t want her daughter to hurt herself.

“We can all take care of that later. For now I would like to spend some time alone with my mates.”Sulpicia sent a look to Athenodora that would melt a glacier.

Athenodora smiled brightly. She knew exactly what Sulpicia was thinking.”What a wonderful idea.”

“I think we will go back to our rooms to celebrate.”Victoria’s thoughts were the same as the queens. She was worked up from being able to beat on Edward and seeing Bella cause him so much pain.

“We will continue to work on our own rooms.”Tanya said stopping Kate from joining them. She caught not only the look Victoria was giving Bella but the hand that was slipping into the back of Bella’s pants as well.

“It seems like we all have things to do then.”Sulpicia motioned to Edward.”Guards gather the boy and his parts and put him in a cell. He can’t see so I doubt he will be able to reassemble himself but I want his parts to burn in front of Carlisle later.”

“Yes your majesty.”Two of the guards moved to collect Edward and the pieces of his body.

“The rest of you are dismissed.”Sulpicia didn’t want until they left to stand from her throne and grabbed Didyme’s hand to pull her up.

“What has you so rushed?”Didyme asked.

Sulpicia leaned forward and whisper in Didyme’s ear low enough for only the queen to hear.”After seeing Dora in action I would desperately like you and I to tie her up and fuck her.”

“Well I’m sure that can be arranged.”Didyme said.

Sulpicia chuckled.”I thought you would agree.”

“That being said. Some of the other guards will have been reaching other Cullen safe houses soon. As we know that the group of you don’t care about dealing with anyone other than the Cullens themselves we will only contact you to let you know if we catch another one.”Athenodora told them.

“Thank you your majesty.”Tanya was happy that they were allowed to be involved when the Cullens were captured.

“Bella we will collect you later so we can all talk to Eleazar.”Sulpicia wanted to see what the man had to say about Bella’s recent use of her gift.

“Of course mother.”Bella wanted to know about her gift as well.

“Good then we will see you soon.”Sulpicia didn’t wait for a reply. She simply tightened her grip on Didyme’s hand and led her out of the throne room. She didn’t bother waiting for Athenodora because she knew the queen would follow. There were many things they needed to get done but for now Sulpicia just wanted to take a some time to reconnect with her mates. They hadn’t had a chance since Athenodora went to Alaska to meet Bella and the queen desperately wanted to reaffirm their bond physically. Vampires didn’t just show their love with words. They mostly showed it through touch. Sulpicia suspected that was why newly mated vampires spent months making love without acknowledging the rest of the world and why all mated vampires couldn’t be away from each other for long periods of time. Not that that matter right then though. What mattered right then was that Sulpicia had a new set of shackles installed in the queens’ play room that she wanted to try out. These ones were supposed to be stronger than the ones they used before but Sulpicia doubted it. When Athenodora got riled up the woman became stronger than anyone Sulpicia ever encountered and because she did they had to replace items in their play room constantly. Sulpicia didn’t mind. After so long she and Didyme liked to see who could provoke Athenodora into breaking the most stuff. Oddly enough Didyme usually came out on top but Sulpicia still put in a good effort. Opening the door to the play room Sulpicia smiled. Even with the Cullens and their allies still on the run things were good. She had her mates and daughter under the same roof where no one could hurt them. Life couldn’t be more perfect.
