“I can’t believe you just got home and you are already leaving.”Kate complained as she watched Isabella pack her bag to go to school.She didn’t understand why her sister was bothering with pretending to be a high school student.Yes it would give her a chance to see Alice more but Isabella had been away a long time.Kate wanted to spend time with her and hear all the stories of what she had been up to while she was away.She once again cursed fate for the sister bond she had with Alice.If Isabella were bonded to anyone it should have been Kate, Tanya and Irina.They all had the same sire and were known as sisters already.It wasn’t far that Alice who had only been in Isabella’s life for a few decades had more of a claim then the Denali.

“It will only be for a couple hours.”Isabella told her.

“Yeah but we haven’t seen you in over three years.You didn’t even come home to visit.”Kate hated when Isabella had to leave and wasn’t allowed to come back to even visit until she was done with whatever she was tasked to do.

“I know and I missed you to.If it makes you feel better I was given a promise that I won’t be needed for at least a year unless there is an emergency.”Isabella was expecting something to happen but was going to make the most of the break.

Kate rolled her eyes.”There is always an emergency.”

“I have already told them wanting to go on vacation was not an emergency.”Isabella had made it very clear that if she was bothered to travel with anyone it would be the last time she did it.

“You still owe me a vacation.”Kate said.

“Yes I do and once we have our first school break I will take you and our sisters anywhere you want to go.”Isabella promised.

“Why does Kate get to pick this time?”Irina asked as she joined Isabella and Kate in Isabella’s room.

“Because every time you pick it’s to someplace lame.”Kate hated the trips Irina picked.It was always somewhere boring.

“That’s not true.You enjoyed the day of the dead celebrations.”Irina reminded her.

“Alright so one time you picked something good.”Kate conceded.

“I think I should get to pick.”Tanya said as she joined her sisters.

“No way you will want to go somewhere educational.”Kate hated when Tanya was in charge of vacations.They always ended up at some ruins or a national monument.It was never fun.

“I had heard that they uncovered a new temple in Egypt I wanted to check out.”Tanya would like to see what it was like before the humans stole all the treasures from it.

“I have to agree with Kate on this one.Tanya never picks anywhere good.”Irina said.

“Well excuse me for wanting to learn about the world.”Tanya was very interested in how humans evolved and loved to learn about past civilizations.

“Maybe we should ask where Isabella would like to go?She never gets to pick.”Irina knew that Isabella let them pick as a way to apologize for having to be away so often.Not that any of them blamed Isabella for her absences.It was the price they had to pay for their freedom and Irina, Tanya and Kate thanked Isabella often for her sacrifice.

“I have spent the last three years traveling.I don’t care where we go as long as the three of you are with me.”Isabella wouldn’t care if they wanted to go to the North Pole to look at penguins.She would go to spend time with her family.

Kate pinched Isabella’s cheek.”You’re such a sap.”

“I’m not a sap.”Isabella denied as she swatted Kate’s hand away from her face.

“You really are.”Irina along with everyone else who knew the Denali sisters could tell Isabella was the emotional one.

“Out of all three of us you are the most sentimental.”Tanya agreed.

“I see how it is.I leave for a few years and you three spend the entire time turning against me.”Isabella joked.

“None of us are against you.”Tanya told her.

“Anyway can we get back to the point.”Kate said.

“What was the point?”Isabella asked.

“The point was that you just got back a couple hours ago and you are already leaving.”Kate didn’t like this one bit.

“I’m only going to be gone for a few hours.”Isabella wished she could stay with her family but she had promised Alice that she would attend school with them the next time she got the chance.

“I don’t understand why you are subjecting yourself to this.”Tanya couldn’t think of any reason someone would want to willingly deal with a bunch of hormonal teenagers.

Isabella sighed.”Alice asked me to.She said going would bring us closer because I would be experiencing something that was such a large part of her life.”

“So what you are saying is we need to convince Alice that going to school isn’t worth the effort.”Kate was already mid plan on how to get Alice to drop out.Maybe she would work on Jasper first.Alice wouldn’t say no to him.

“If you can get Alice to agree then I am more than happy to stay home with you.”Isabella would actually prefer it but didn’t want to disappoint Alice.

“I think I will help you come up with a plan.”Irina told Kate.

Feeling her phone vibrate Isabella checked the message.”It seems Alice wants me to bring the Shelby.”

“Why would Alice want you to bring your favorite car to school?I mean can a bunch of teenagers be trusted around it?”Tanya didn’t think it was a good idea to have such an expensive car around children.

Isabella shrugged.”Alice said that she had a surprise for me and that I needed to bring the car.”

“That sounds ominous.”Irina didn’t trust any surprises coming from Alice.They never usually turned out positive for the person being surprised.

“Who knows with Alice.”Isabella wasn’t worried.Her sister was a little spastic at times but she meant well.

“Are you sure there is no way to convince you to stay home?”Kate really didn’t want Isabella to leave.

“Sorry Kate but I promised Alice.Besides last time I was home I only spent two weeks with her and the Cullens.It’s her turn.”Isabella wished she could spend all her time with her sisters but part of the deal the Denali made for their freedom was that Bella had to drop everything she was doing if the kings needed her.

Kate sighed dramatically.”If you insist on going to school maybe I will have to go as well.”

“Yeah that’s not going to happen.”There was no way Tanya was letting Kate attend high school.

“I would be an excellent student.”Kate was offended Tanya thought otherwise.

“You would be expelled before lunch.”Irina told her.

“Anyway, I will see you all later.I’ll try to get out of spending time with the Cullens but you know how they are.”Isabella said.

“They are obsessed with you is how they are.I mean seriously is Edward ever going to take the hint that you aren’t interested in him?”Kate thought it was sickening the way Edward acted around Isabella.

“He isn’t interested in me romantically.He just likes the fact that I block his gift when I’m around so he doesn’t have to deal with anyone’s thoughts but his own.”Isabella knew Edward didn’t want to have a relationship with her.She was pretty sure the boy was gay but was too afraid to admit it.

“Regardless you better get going so you don’t get detention for being late.”The last thing Tanya wanted was Isabella having to stay longer at school.That would mean she wouldn’t get home until later.

“Wish me luck.”Isabella kissed each of her sisters on the cheek and made her way out the room to calls of good luck sounding behind her.She wasn’t going to admit it to anyone but she was extremely nervous about going to high school.She interacted with humans all the time.Her gift blocking the sun made her the number one person called on to take vampires around the world so they wouldn’t be exposed.It was during those trips that she was usually forced to be around humans as the vampires she took with her wanted to experience the culture.Even then it didn’t mean she was ready to be in close quarters to a bunch of hormonal teenagers.Luckily she had Alice, Jasper, Emmett and Edward.Those four would keep the student body from bothering her to much.Alice would be especially protective because she knew promise or not Isabella wouldn’t continuing going if she was annoyed.
