“Is it safe to walk around here after dark?”Rosalie asked Bella.The pair along with two of Bella’s bodyguards were walking down a very dingy looking alley that was only lit up by a few lightbulbs along the way.Rosalie would never volunteer to walk in the area during the daytime let alone at night.Even though she knew that she could protect herself the atmosphere of the area put her on high alert and had her shifting closer to Bella.If it wasn’t for the fact that Rosalie knew that Bella would never do anything to put them in danger Rosalie would have insisted they had done something else.She was just extra glad for the bodyguards.There was no way anyone would catch them off guard with them around.

“I promise you are not in danger.Besides we are here.”Bella told her.

“Where?Rosalie watched in confusion as Bella knocked on a steel door and a slit was opened to reveal part of a man’s face.

“Password.”The man said.

“Sophisticated Lady.”Bella replied causing the metal slit to close and the door to unlock and open.One of Bella’s guards went through the door first followed by Bella leading Rosalie through the door by the hand.

Making their way down a hallway the first thing that caught Rosalie’s attention was the music.Sounds of old school jazz was being played by a live band.When they arrived in a large room her mouth hung open in shock as she took in everything she saw.The place seemed to be right out of the 1930’s.The decor and furniture wouldn’t have looked out of place in any club from her human years.The staff was dressed up in period clothing as were most of the patrons.The dance floor was full of people having a great time dancing along with the band.”What is this place?”

“Well you said that you had always dreamed of us being able to go out on a date in public without having to hide who we were so I thought we would have a kind of redo of our first unofficial date.I had one of my guards look for clubs to go dancing and they found this.It’s an underground jazz club that you can only access if you are a member.If you don’t like it here we can…”Bella was cut off mid sentence by Rosalie’s lips on her own.”Do you like it?’

“I love it!”It was one of Rosalie’s biggest regrets over the years that she and Bella never got to dance in a club without Bella having to disguise herself.Now Rosalie was getting a chance to recreate one of the greatest nights of her life in a way she had always dreamed she could.It was just more proof of how much her mate loved her.

“I’m glad.Now do you want to grab a table and get a drink first or do you want to dance?”Bella asked.

“Let’s get a drink first.I want to take in the place for a little bit before we start dancing.”Rosalie wanted to experience the crowd for a little while.

“Good idea.”Bella followed one of her guards to a table that gave them a good view of the room.Bella had made sure that it was in the open so that many people could see them.She wanted Rosalie to get her wish to have a date in public where people could see they were a couple.

“Thank you.”Rosalie said to the guard who held out her seat for her.

“It’s my pleasure your highness.”The guard replied as she and the other guard took seats at the table next to them.The pair stood out like a sore thumb in their black suits but no one paid them any mind.

“Would you be offended if I got a cocktail?”Rosalie wanted to try some of the drinks she never had the courage to when she was human.

Bella shook her head.”I personally don’t drink alcohol but I don’t care if others do.I take that back I do care but only if they get out of control drunk.Which I know you won’t do.”

“Of course I wouldn’t.”Rosalie hadn’t even considered getting drunk.She liked being in control of her own body too much.

“Hello ladies my name is Becca and I’ll be your server this evening.”A woman greeted as she stopped at their table.

“Nice to meet you Becca.”Rosalie said.

“Is there anything I can get you?”Becca asked.

“I’ll have a Mary Pickford.”Rosalie had loved the actress’ movies and was wondering what a cocktail inspired by her tasted like.

“I’ll have a Shirley Temple.”Bella said.

“Alright we have a Mary Pickford and a Shirley Temple.I will bring those out when they are ready.”Becca wrote in her notebook and left the table.

“Do your guards want a drink?”Rosalie asked.

“They don’t drink or eat on duty.”Bella cut Rosalie off just as she was opening her mouth to reply.”Even if I offered them something they would refuse.The have very strict rules about how they conduct themselves when they are watching over me.”

“You can’t change that?”Rosalie didn’t feel right that the pair weren’t able to enjoy the evening with them.

“I have little influence on what they do.At anytime they can ignore what I ask them and do the exact opposite and they wouldn’t get in trouble.They answer to the government and I have no control of any of it.”Bella told her.

“So if the government decided they wanted you restrained and put in captivity they would do it?”Rosalie knew that the human governments would do that if they had a half angel amongst them.They would not only want to study them but wouldn’t want other governments to get their hands on them.

“Even if they wanted to do that they wouldn’t be able to.Not only would my people revolt if it happened but they would never be able to overpower me.I keep most of my abilities to myself.They don’t even know about a fraction of what I can do so they wouldn’t know how to fight me.An army couldn’t stop me.”Bella wasn’t worried about someone trying to contain her.Her magic put her in a different league than all other fae.

“That makes me feel a lot better.”Rosalie said.

“Here you are ladies.”Becca set a bright pink drink in front of Bella.Then the other glass in front of Rosalie.

“Thank you.”Rosalie took a sip of her drink pleased with the taste of if.

“You’re welcome.”Becca looked around for a second then leaned forward and lowered her voice.”I just have to say that I love your music.I have all your albums on not only cd but vinyl as well.”

“That’s nice of you to say.”Bella was always happy to hear that people enjoyed her music.It was something that her son put a lot of effort into so it was nice that people supported him.

“I’m bummed I couldn’t get tickets to any of concerts but I was working when they went on sale.”Becca told her.

“Torra come here please.”Bella called out to her bodyguard.

Torra was at the table in less than a second.“Yes Miss Swan.”

“Can you please arrange for Becca to get as many tickets as she wants for one of the Portland shows.Make sure she has backstage passes as well.”Bella smiled at the look of shock on Becca’s face.

“Oh no ….you don’t …..I wasn’t trying to get tickets from you.”Becca stuttered out.

Bella waved her off.”It’s no big deal.We put some aside so we have plenty for you and your friends if they want to come as well.”

“Oh my god!!”Becca squealed in excitement earning the attention of most of the room.”Thank you so much.”

“Just speak to Torra and she will make sure you have everything you need for you and your friends to go to the concert and get backstage.”Bella told her.

“Come along.”Torra motioned for the girl to leave Bella’s table.

“Thank you again.”Becca mumbled as she followed Torra.

Rosalie smiled as she watched her walk away.”That was nice of you.”

“It’s no big deal.I had one of them give our waiter Sean some backstage passes as well.It’s something I do when I go out in public.”Bella liked to take any chance she could to show her fans she appreciated them.

“It’s a big deal to both of them.”Rosalie knew that they would be talking about the time they met Bella and she gave them tickets to her show for the rest of their lives.

“How is your drink?”Bella wanted to change the subject.She wasn’t comfortable getting praise.

Rosalie knew exactly what Bella was doing but allowed it.”It’s great.How’s yours?”

“I would order it again.”Bella said.

“Do you want to dance now?”Rosalie asked as she took the last sip of her drink.

“As if I could refuse you in that dress.”Bella would do anything Rosalie wanted if that dress was involved.Not that she wouldn’t anyway.

”I will keep that in mind when I ask for things in the future.”Rosalie was going to redo her whole wardrobe now that she was reunited with Bella.She was no longer in mourning and had someone to look good for.Starting with lingerie.She was going to spare no expense because not only was it worth it but with Bella’s wealth she wouldn’t have to worry about money in the future.She knew her love wouldn’t mind her spending it.Rosalie would have to work out a way to make her own but that could wait.She had more important things to worry about like dancing the night away.

“If you have any requests the band said they would play them for you.”Bella told her.

Thinking of requests brought a thought to Rosalie.”Did you write They Can’t Take That Away From Me?”

“I did.When I visited the human realm I always took the chance to experience the culture.Especially the music.Throughout the millennia I have taken part in writing many pieces.A few you probably have heard.”Bella told her.

“Do you make music in your realm too?”Rosalie asked.She slipped past a couple empty tables making her way to the dance floor.

“I have been preforming since I was a child and have made hundred of recordings that are given away for free to my people.I even tour the realm to preform concerts.”Bella was planning on doing another tour after she finished her human one but would have to work it out with Rosalie.

“Maybe you could get me a copy of your recordings so I could listen to them.”Rosalie was very interested in hearing Bella’s fae music.

“Sebastian has transferred them all to cds and digital recordings so you can ask him for a copy.”Bella said.

“I’ll do it later.”Rosalie pulled Bella close.”Now I want to dance with my mate in public with a crowd of people watching us.”

“I hope my old bones can keep up with you.”Bella joked.

“By the time tomorrow morning comes you are going to be walking funny.”Rosalie had many plans before the night was over and sleep wasn’t one of them.

“Why do I have a feeling you aren’t talking about dancing anymore?”Bella asked.

“Because I’m not.”Rosalie perked up with when the song changed and immediately began to start dancing the Lindy Hop.She smiled brightly when Bella easily fell in step.”I knew you could keep up.”

“It’s just the first song.”Bella called out over the music.

“I think you will be fine.”Rosalie said.After dancing to a few more songs Rosalie noticed they were gaining quite the audience and that some people even had their phones out.Realizing this was her chance to make her lifelong dream come true she grabbed Bella by the lapels of her shirt and kissed her hard on the mouth.The cheering and wolf whistles from the crowd made the experience that much more better in her opinion.Pulling back Rosalie discreetly wiped at the tears that were falling from her eyes.

“Are you alright?”Bella asked in concern.

Rosalie leaned her forehead against Bella’s.”I’m so happy.”

“I’m glad sweetheart.”Bella was very pleased that Rosalie was having a good time.From what she had witnessed and heard her love didn’t take many moments to enjoy herself.To see her now Bella was proud that she was the one to give Rosalie the chance to relax and have a good time.

“Let’s dance a few more songs and get out of here.”Rosalie said.

“This is your night.We can stay as long as you want to.”Bella was prepared to pay the band to perform all night if that’s what Rosalie wanted.

“Thank you.”Rosalie gave Bella one more kiss and pulled back.She was having the greatest night of her life.All thanks to Bella.Her mate was truly a magnificent being.She wasn’t sure if Bella’s behavior was common amongst fairies but based on what she had learned from Sebastian she didn’t think so.That just made Bella even more extraordinary and Rosalie that much luckier.She wasn’t sure what she had done to be matched with Bella but Rosalie was extremely grateful.Once they got a chance she was going to ask Bella more about her religion.Bella had given her more than enough proof that the fae god existed and Rosalie wanted to properly thank them for giving her Bella.Maybe she wouldn’t do the week long prayer session Bella did but she wanted to at least show her appreciation for the blessings she was given because being mated to Bella was the ultimate blessing from god.
