“I think we should place the camera and then try to get closer to take pictures.”Bella said to Rosalie.The pair were in the forested area at the back of the potential lab the shifters had identified.They were planning to place cameras like they did in Maine but this time they had brought a camera.The shifters who were assigned to the area had done what they could to get pictures but didn’t get that close for fear of getting caught.Bella and Rosalie weren’t worried about that to much because if they were they would be able to get away even if it came to a fight.Not that they wanted it to because then it would alert the people in the building of the danger coming to them.

“How close do you think would be safe?”Rosalie asked.

Bella looked around trying to find a good spot.She pointed to a group of three trees that would hide one of them easily.”I’m going to put the camera in those trees.When that’s done we should be able to low crawl our way to those bushes a few yards in front of them.”

“I hate that I know what you mean when you saw low crawl.”Rosalie had never heard of the phrase until they began preparing for their missions.Now she was aware of all kinds of military terms and she didn’t like the reasons she had to learn.

“Let me get the camera ready.”Bella pulled the equipment they needed out of the book bag she was carrying.Once she had it out she began to walk slowly and carefully towards the trees making sure to be as quiet as possible.Stopping at the tree she handed Rosalie the backpack and climbed it.Securing the camera in its place she spoke.”Camera one check.”

“Move it to right two inches.”Emmett’s voice instructed.

Bella moved the camera.”Camera one check.”

“Camera one’s a go.”Emmett replied.

Bella carefully climbed down the tree, laid down on the ground and began crawling to the bush.Rosalie followed suit and once they stopped pulled out a camera and began taking pictures of the area and building.When Rosalie motioned to go back Bella crawled back with her.Waiting until they were a safe distance away she spoke in a whisper.”I have to say that this isn’t any less stressful after already having done this before.”

“I thinks it’s more because we know what’s going on inside.We didn’t know what was happening in Maine.”Rosalie whispered back.

“True.”Bella agreed.

“I think that’s a good spot for the camera.”Rosalie said pointing to a tree that was located almost exactly in the middle of the left side of the building.

Bella pulled out the next set of equipment.“That’s perfect.You’ll have to take your pictures from there.”

“I will still be able to get everything we need.”Rosalie told her.

“Alright.”Bella made her way just as slowly and quietly as she had to the first tree.Being careful to not fall she climbed the tree and secured the camera.”Camera two check.”

“Camera two is a go.”Emmett replied.

Bella made her way back down the tree and waited for Rosalie to finish.Once she did the pair of them made a large loop to get to the front of the building keeping their distance to get an overview of the security.”It doesn’t make sense.It’s night time and they are still using human guards.”

“Are you sure none of them are vampires?”Bella sight and smell was better than Rosalie’s and from where they were standing and how the guards were dressed she couldn’t tell.

“Yes, I can see the pulse thrumming in their necks.”Bella told her.

“Why wouldn’t they be using vampires?”Rosalie asked.

“I don’t get it either.This whole set up is suspicious.The lack of proper fencing, using humans as guards, human test subjects.It doesn’t make sense.”Bella couldn’t understand anything that was going on.

“We know that vampires have been here based on what Rod told us.If they are here why aren’t they using them?Or if they using them what are they using them for?”Rosalie didn’t want to think about what the vampires were doing in that building.

Bella easily picked up on what Rosalie was saying.”You’re right.If they don’t think security is that important that means they are confident enough that if the building was breached whoever was inside could easily eliminate the threat.That leads me to believe that there is a lot of vampires and weapons in that building.”

“It’s if they have weapons to use on vampires that has me most concerned.”Rosalie didn’t want Emmett, Peter and Charlotte to get hurt.It couldn’t be prevented if the enemy had weapons that could hurt vampires.She would prefer that they not be involved but the trio were going to be needed.

“Hopefully the suits will give them what protection they need.”Bella said.

“Let’s get the camera set up take some pictures and talk to the others.”Rosalie was anxious to get back so they could make a solid plan.

“Alright.”Bella pulled out another camera and once again slowly and quietly made her way to the front of the building stopping at the second to last row of trees that was separating the building from the forest.Climbing slowly she placed the camera and spoke.”Camera three check.”

“Camera three is a go.”Emmett replied.

Landing on solid ground Bella waited while Rosalie took her pictures taking the time to look at the front gate.Getting a tap on the shoulder from Rosalie Bella followed her away from the building.”The humans aren’t wearing the same suits as we got off the vampires.”

“What do you mean?”They had looked the same to Rosalie.

“I could see seams and one of them had a tear in the elbow.”Bella told her.

“We couldn’t see seams on the ones we got.I doubt if after all we did to try and destroy and couldn’t that a human would be able to tear one of them.”Rosalie said.

“That just adds to the list of lack of security measures.”Bella was frustrated with all they were learning.It wasn’t adding up.

“They are either completely confident that no one would ever find this lab or whoever they have inside doesn’t think they need any protection.”Rosalie hoped it was the first situation not the second because she didn’t want to deal with extremely dangerous people.

“Let’s get the last camera set up.Then we can regroup and get everyone else’s opinion.Maybe we should contact Jasper for his take on all this.”Bella suggested.

“It would be good to get his insight.”Rosalie thought that Jasper would be the perfect person to ask about the mindset of the enemy.

Bella pulled out the last camera and made her way to the right side of the building and climbed a tree.Securing the camera she spoke.”Camera four check.”

“Move it three inches left one inch down.”Emmett instructed.

Bella moved it.”Camera four check.”

“Camera four is a go.”Emmett replied.

Bella climbed down the tree and once Rosalie was done the pair started to slowly take the long convoluted path they chose to go back to the community center.It was probably being excessive but they wanted to make sure they weren’t followed.”I hate that we don’t have much more information than when we started.”

“We did gain some.Like the humans and their suits.”Rosalie reminded her.

“Yeah I guess.”Bella was still somewhat disheartened that they weren’t able to find an obvious way for her and Rosalie to do the mission alone.

“I want to tell you not to worry but that would be silly.Instead I’m going to tell you that you and I are strong enough and determined enough to do our best to keep everyone safe.You need to trust in yourself and me and believe that we will come out on top.”Rosalie told her receiving a hand squeeze in reply.She knew that Bella would go above and beyond to make sure everyone made it out of the mission alive and that somewhat worried Rosalie.Not that she doubted Bella’s abilities, she just worried about what Bella would sacrifice to save everyone else.Hell she was worried about what she herself was willing to sacrifice to save everyone.Looking over to her mate Rosalie held back a sigh.What a pair they were, two teenagers willing to give their lives for others.Rosalie wanted to curse fate for giving them the responsibility but knowing that fate was the reason Bella was by her side she really couldn’t.Bella was the best things that happened to her.It didn’t matter what they had to go through when all was said and done they would always have each other.That thought was enough to soothe some of Rosalie’s anxiety.
