“Where is Rosalie?”Didyme asked Jane as soon as she entered the sitting room all the royals were gathered in.Didyme knew that Aro had assigned Jane to guard Rosalie and figured that Jane would bring her with her.It worried the queen that she did not.Rosalie wasn’t safe in the castle without protection.At least until they could train the girl properly because Didyme knew that Carlisle never allowed the three he controlled any kind of training.It would have given them a way to fight back.That being something Carlisle did not want.

“Bella invited her to stay with her in the arcade.”Jane told her as she knelt in front of them.

Didyme waved off the gesture.” Rise.Now tell us why Bella is in the arcade instead of her rooms?”

“When Rosalie and I left our meeting with you we found Bella in the hallway carrying cleaning supplies.I asked her what she was doing and she told me that she wanted to make sure the arcade was clean before Kate’s visit.”Jane said.

“She wanted to make sure the room was clean for her friend?”Sulpicia didn’t think Bella would worry about such things.

“Yes, she was afraid that if it was dirty Kate wouldn’t want to play with her.”Jane wasn’t surprised by the many smiles on the royals’ faces.The only reason she hadn’t smiled herself when Bella told her was because she didn’t want to embarrass Bella.

“I truly hope that Kate has a good time.If not I think it would break Bella’s heart.”Marcus knew how important this meeting was for Bella.Even if Bella didn’t understand it herself.If Kate rejected Bella’s friendship it would hurt Bella deeply.Bella wouldn’t want to put herself out there again and the king didn’t want his daughter to shut down more than she usually did.

“Kate seemed very keen on being Bella’s friend.Watching them interact it was obvious that Kate had fun.She and Bella had some similar interest and I wouldn’t be surprised if Kate asked Bella to teach her how to fight better.”Jane said.

“I don’t know how I feel about letting Bella train someone.”Didyme remembered the times Bella had tried to teach others.It didn’t end well for either Bella or the trainee.

“Rosalie asked me if Bella would train her.I told her that Bella didn’t train people but I would be happy to help her.”Jane told them.

“Rosalie wants to learn how to fight?”Aro was very surprised to hear that.

Jane nodded.”From what I can tell Rosalie wants to prove herself worthy of being mated to Bella.I predict that she will go above and beyond to prove her worth to not only Bella but to all of us as well.”

“If she wants to be worthy of being mated to Bella, maybe I will help her.”Athenodora didn’t usually train anyone but would gladly spend time with Rosalie if the girl was serious about putting in the effort.

“She also said she was more than willing to change her last name to Volturi.”Jane was all to happy to help Rosalie look good in the eyes of the royals.They were both Bella’s mates and Jane wanted Rosalie to have a good relationship with the royals because if she didn’t it would put a strain on their relationship with Bella.

“That will make presenting her to court easier.”Didyme hoped that if they presented Rosalie to the court then Bella would step into her role as Volturi princess.The queen had been hurt when Bella refused to take the role but she understood her daughter didn’t like the attention.

“Rosalie seems very eager to distance herself from the Cullens.I wouldn’t be surprised if she asked to be involved in the initial punishment.”Jane said.

“I would be more than willing to let her but she is still susceptible to the sire bond.”Caius wasn’t opposed to Rosalie having a chance to punish her sire he just worried that Carlisle would manage to control her and force her to do something that had dire consequences.

“True, a sire bond isn’t something the can be broken.Chelsea has yet to be successful in her own attempts.”Aro had his guard member experiment with sire bonds as many vampires were controlled through them.A lot of crimes were the result of a sire command and due to that innocent vampires were often punished because of their helplessness.There was no other way around it though.Even by killing the sire the commands remained.They faded over time but until they did the vampire still acted on them.That was why Aro wanted to find a way to sever the bond completely.His hope being that once it was the vampire would be able to break free of the commands.

“We can let her have a go at the other prisoners.”Athenodora suggested.

“We will discuss it with her later.Tell us how Bella is getting along with her?”Didyme was most interested in how Bella was reacting to her new bond mate.

“She is getting along very well with her.I dare say that Bella is comfortable being around her.She even invited Rosalie into her arcade then allowed her to clean some of the machines.Bella even touched her to help her clean.She didn’t take her glove off though.”Jane told them.

“Bella touched her?”Marcus wasn’t sure he believed that.

“I was just as surprised but that was only a small thing compared to when Bella put music on that apparently was something important to her human life and time spent with Rosalie.”Jane was still effected from the emotions Bella had shown her.

“Bella played music that was associated with her human life and Rosalie?”Didyme wasn’t sure what think about that.Bella didn’t bring up her human life often.It was a very touchy subject because of how poorly Bella was treated by the people in her life and then the treatment she got from Victoria.

“Bella showed me her memories of times spent with Rosalie in a garage.Rosalie explained that Bella had an old pick up truck that she would fix when it broke down.It was the only time the two were allowed to be alone together.”Jane cleared her throat trying to suppress the emotions that came with those memories.”I have never felt so much happiness and peace coming from Bella.None of her memories of her human life or vampire life has she felt so much joy.I am embarrassed to say that I was brought to tears when Bella showed me.”

“Do you think Bella could have felt the mate bond while she was human?”Sulpicia asked Marcus.If anyone would know for sure it would be him because of his gift.

Marcus thought about what he knew of how humans reacted to bonds.”It’s possible she did.The problem I have with it is if she did why didn’t she act on it?”

“Maybe she couldn’t.Rosalie has told us of how her family acted.Think about it through Bella’s perspective.She was just a human when a random boy she barely knew told her about the existence of vampires.Then he explains what mates are to her and claims that she is his.The rest of the coven go out of their way to support the false claim.Why would she think any different?”Caius said.

“She wouldn’t have because she didn’t know any better.I bet if she had any doubts about it they reassured her claiming it was just the way humans feel the bond.If she had feelings for Rosalie then it makes this situation that much more tragic.”Athenodora hated that her niece had been manipulated into being in a relationship with Edward.It just made her much more determined to take her time with the boy and make his punishment as painful as possible.

“With everything new we find out about this situation it makes it more tragic.”Even though she found a daughter in Bella Didyme would trade the bond in a heartbeat if it prevented all the suffering Bella had to go through.

“Speaking of new information.”Aro turned his attention to Jane.”I wanted to speak to you about what I found out from Emmett.”

“I admit I was wondering if you found something other than the obvious.”Jane had been curious to know what secrets Emmett was hiding.

“I found out that Carlisle has been creating newborns in hopes they will have gifts when they were turned.”Aro told her.

“How is he keeping it under the radar?”Jane asked.

“He used Jasper to control them and Emmett to contain them while they were testing them for a gift.If they don’t pass their testing they were destroyed.The reason Emmett wasn’t forthcoming with the information was because Carlisle used the sire command to forbid him from ever speaking about it.”Aro had of course picked up on it immediately.Sire commands couldn’t hide from his gift as he saw all thoughts and memories a person had.It didn’t matter what someone did to hide the information.

“It is well known he wants to make his coven powerful enough to overthrow you.”Jane bet every vampire that existed knew of Carlisle’s ambitions to become king.The man had approached enough of them to join his coven with promises of positions in the court if they did.

“The idiot thinks he is smarter than everyone.If it wasn’t for Bella we would have taken care of him a long time ago.”Caius said.

“He wasn’t breaking any laws until he met Bella.Before that was just him planning and trying to recruit.The newborn turning has only been going on for the last couple decades.”Aro told him.

“He is obviously desperate to fill his coven because of how many vampires refused his invitation to join the Cullens.”Athenodora wasn’t surprised that no one wanted to join up with Carlisle.Not only was he a moron but he wasn’t a good leader.One just had to watch the interactions of his coven to see it.

“Was he able to find any allies?”Jane doubted it.

“Emmett hadn’t seen any but I doubt Carlisle would have told him.I will be reading Carlisle during his trial so I will find out then.”Aro was looking forward to the trial.It would give him the opportunity to see everything Carlisle had been up to.Aro was sure that he was going to find Carlisle had worked with others and wanted to find out who they were.

“Is there anything you want me to do?”Jane asked.

Aro shook his head.”Not right now.We just wanted you to know what was going on.”

“Are you going to tell Bella?”Jane wouldn’t lie to her mate but was unsure it was a good idea to tell Bella right away.

Didyme was thinking the same thing as Jane.”We are going to wait until her visit with Kate is over.That way she can focus on spending time with her friend and not be thinking about killing the Cullens.”

“I hate keeping things from her but you are right.If she was told now it would ruin her time with her friend.”Jane knew if Bella was told she would be upset and she wouldn’t be able to relax enough to enjoy spending time with Kate.

“With that being said I think you should go check in on her and Rosalie.We don’t know exactly how Bella will handle being alone with her and I want to make sure there are no incidents.”Marcus said.

“I doubt anything bad will happen but I will go.”Jane didn’t think anything bad would happen.Rosalie had shown patience with Bella and hadn’t pushed for any touching.

“It won’t happen on purpose but if Rosalie forgets herself Bella will react without thinking.I don’t want Rosalie hurt not only emotionally but physically if Bella does.”Marcus knew that Bella wouldn’t hurt anyone on purpose but as not only he learned but his mate and Jane, Bella didn’t react well if touched without being asked first.Even the smallest of touches could set her off.He didn’t want Rosalie to be a victim of one of Bella’s outburst.

“I’ll check on her and send you a message if anything happens.”Jane told them.

“Send one to tell us how they are getting along.”Didyme was interested in knowing how Bella and Rosalie’s relationship would unfold.Especially with what Jane told them about Bella’s human memories of Rosalie.

“I will.”Jane promised before leaving the room.She hated to admit it but she was a little worried about Bella interacting with Rosalie as well.Jane truly believed that Bella would be fine with Rosalie.It was just not being able to predict if something would happen to trigger Bella.Bella wouldn’t act out on purpose it was just her flight or fight instinct was always on high alert.Although Bella having a second mate didn’t upset Jane it was just the fact that it could cause problems until Rosalie learned to adapt to Bella’s quirks.Hopefully the fact that Bella liked Rosalie when she was human would give them a better starting point than Bella had with most people because Jane knew that Rosalie would bring Bella a lot of happiness in the future.Bella’s happiness being Jane’s number one priority even if that happiness meant she had to share her mate.
