Silver Assassin 10

“Rosalie are you alright?”Becky asked Rosalie when she entered the room Becky and Emmett had been held in since they got to the castle.The mated pair had asked the guards what was going to happen to them but they had told them nothing.Seeing Rosalie in one piece calmed her but that calm only lasted a second when not only Jane but the Silver Assassin and Aro followed behind her.Becky had expected that she and Emmett would be taken to the throne room where they would plead their case in front of all three kings not have a private audience with Aro.

“I’m fine.”Rosalie wanted to say more but held back because Aro was there.

“Are you sure?”Emmett thought Rosalie looked fine but she was known for masking her emotions.

“I promise that I am completely fine.”Rosalie told him.

“Now that you have had your chance to inquire about your coven mate’s health let’s get to why we are here.”Aro said as he took a seat on the chair across the couch that Emmett and Becky were sitting on.Jane stood on one side of the chair while Bella stood on the other with Rosalie right beside her.

“We will tell you everything we know.”Emmett wasn’t going to hold back now that he finally had his chance to plead his case.

“Why don’t you start by answering some questions?”Aro could take the information from Emmett but wanted Bella to have the opportunity to hear the pair’s side of the story.”Why did you go along with Edward insisting that Isabella Swan was his mate?”

“We were forced to.The entire coven knew that Edward was claiming a false bond as it was Rosalie who was Bella’s mate.When we voiced our objections to Edward pursuing Bella Carlisle used the sire bond to forbid us from ever telling anyone about it.”Emmett figured that Aro already knew about this because Rosalie had told him.

“Who else in your coven objected to Edward’s actions?”Aro asked.

“Just myself, Emmett and of course Rosalie.All the other members were all to happy to go along with the narrative of Bella being Edward’s mate.”Becky told him.

“At no time were you able to tell Isabella the truth?”Aro wanted to know what attempts the pair made in trying to help Bella.

”I tried one time when Bella came to visit and the others weren’t home.As soon as I opened my mouth to say something Alice shot through the door and stopped me.She had a vision of it happening and rushed home to make sure it didn’t.After that they made sure I never got a chance to be alone with Bella.”Emmett had always felt guilty that he didn’t help Bella even though he didn’t have the power to do so.

Jane looked at Bella to gauge her reaction to what Emmett was saying.She didn’t seem affected but Jane knew that just being in the room with Emmett and Becky would cause some type of reaction.She wished she was standing close to Bella so she could touch her and see for herself what Bella was feeling.Jane just hoped that Bella wouldn’t close herself off after this meeting because she knew that Bella’s parents wanted a chance to see Bella and check in on her.

“So you are saying that Carlisle forced both of you through the sire bond to support Edward’s false claim on Isabella?”Aro asked.

“Yes my lord.”Becky replied.

“What happened when Edward made the second claim?”Aro and the other royals had briefly discussed what they were going to do about the girl but nothing had been decided yet.

“When Edward told us about it the three of us were outraged.I got so angry I moved to attack Edward but Alice and Jasper interfered and with the help of Edward and Carlisle I was beaten badly and had both my arms removed.I didn’t get them back for a week.”Emmett was just happy that during the fight that Becky hadn’t stepped in like he begged her not to because he knew that they would have done a lot worse to her if she had gotten involved.

Aro now had a very clear picture of what had been going on with Cullens but he wanted to be absolutely sure.Holding out his hand he asked.”Let me have your hand.”

“Of course your majesty.”Emmett held his hand out for Aro to touch.He wasn’t afraid of what the king would see as he had spoken the truth and had nothing to hide.

“I see.”Aro said once he had gone through Emmett’s mind.Not only did he have to talk to the other royals about the false mate claims but it seemed there were other things that Carlisle had been trying to hide.Deciding to go do just that he stood.”You will not be tried along with the rest of your coven as I have confirmed your innocence.You will however not be allowed to leave the castle until this matter is taken care of.You will remain in this room until we find a different place to put you.”

“Thank you my king.”Becky was relieved that she and Emmett weren’t going to be punished because she had no doubt that the rest of her coven except for Rosalie were going to be killed.

“I will take my leave.Jane as I assume Rosalie wishes to visit with the pair stay with them.Once you are done report to myself and the other kings.”Aro told her before leaving the room.

“Do you want to speak to them or do you wish to leave?”Jane hoped that Rosalie wanted to leave because she didn’t feel like babysitting.

“If you wouldn’t mind I would like to stay.”Rosalie wanted a chance to speak to her brother and sister.

“Assassin are you staying?”Jane asked Bella.Bella shook her head and took Jane’s hand.”Alright I will bring Rosalie there when we finish here.”

“Where are you bringing me?”Rosalie asked as she watched Bella leave the room.

“The Assassin has invited you to come back to the arcade when you are done here.”Jane told her.

“That would be fine.”Rosalie wouldn’t mind having the chance to spend some more time with Bella.

“So Rosalie what has happened since we got off the plane?”Becky asked.

“Well I met Queen Didyme and King Marcus and spoke to them about the Assassin.After that I helped the Assassin clean their arcade and then they got a message that Aro wanted to speak to you and now we are here.”Rosalie said.

“What did the king and queen tell you about the Assassin?”Emmett hoped that Rosalie had gotten more information on the vampire.Especially because they were mates.

“That’s none of your concern.”Jane shut down that question right away.The may have not been in on the rest of the Cullen’s scheme but that didn’t mean they were trustworthy.

“Sorry Emmet but some things about the Assassin I’m not allowed to tell you.That includes their identity.”Rosalie wanted to tell them but it wasn’t her place to say anything.It was up to Bella and Rosalie doubted that she wanted anything to do with Emmett or Becky.

“You know who they are?”Becky asked.

Rosalie nodded.”I was told by the king and queen.”

“How do you feel about being mated to them?I mean it’s got to be a shock that you had a second mate.”Emmett didn’t know how he would feel if his mate died and he was given a second chance mate.

“It was a huge shock.All I wanted to do is follow Bella in death after she died.”Rosalie was just going to stick to the narrative that Bella was dead.In a way it was true as the girl the Cullens had known ceased to exist once Victoria got her hands on her.”Meeting the Assassin has made that pain go away.I have not only the will to live now but something to live for.”

“I’m glad.”Becky had watched right along with Emmett as Rosalie became more depressed as the years after Bella had died passed.Looking at her now Rosalie was like a whole new person.Her sister was radiating happiness.

“What’s the Assassin like?”Emmett was curious about the deadly vampire because all that was known about them was rumors.

Rosalie tried to think of a way to describe Bella without giving too much away.”They don’t speak so it is somewhat hard to talk to them but overall they have been willing to get to know me.”

“Why don’t they speak?”Becky knew of the rumors that Assassin was always silent and wondered if Rosalie knew why.

“The Assassin is mute.They are unable to speak due to an accident that happened while they were human.”Jane didn’t mind them knowing that much about Bella as it would be hard for Rosalie to explain why she didn’t speak.

“That’s why it’s said that no one has ever heard them talk.”Emmett concluded.

“How are you able to communicate if they can’t talk to you?”Becky asked.

“They have been very patient with making sure I understand what they are trying to say.”Rosalie felt that even with Bella not speaking directly to her that Bella had been putting in the effort to get her point across.

“Did I hear you mention an arcade?”Emmett asked.

“The Assassin has their own private one that the royals gifted to them.I was helping them clean for when Kate visited.”Rosalie was happy that Bella was willing to let her come back and help when she was done talking to her brother and sister.

“What’s it like?”Emmett knew that if the royals put together an arcade then it would be very impressive.

“It’s huge.I didn’t count but there had to be a least four dozen stand up games and a screen that covers an entire wall for the Assassin to play their consoles on.”Rosalie told him.

“That’s so rad.Do you think that I could use it sometime?”Emmett would love the chance to play with all those games.

“The Assassin doesn’t allow people in their private spaces.”Jane knew that Bella wouldn’t want Emmett or his mate in her arcade.

“But you said that they were cleaning it for Kate.Does that mean Kate is going to get a chance to use it?”Becky asked.

“The Assassin made friends with Kate while they were in Alaska waiting for us to show up.That’s how Kate earned the invitation.”Rosalie was still surprised that that Bella felt comfortable with Kate.It was an odd pairing and Rosalie hoped she got a chance to see them interact with each other.

“Kate is friends with the Assassin?”Becky didn’t know if she believed that.She couldn’t think of anything they would have in common.Maybe video games but their personalties were entirely different.

Rosalie nodded.”From what I heard Kate and the rest of the Denali will be arriving at the castle by morning.”

“That’s so weird.”Emmett just couldn’t picture Kate hanging out with the Assassin.Kate was so loud and out of control.She was known to piss people off.The next time he saw her Emmett was going to ask how she won over the Assassin.Maybe she could put in a good word for him and he could get an invite to play in the arcade.

“Do you know what’s going to happen to Carlisle and the others?”Becky figured if Rosalie met with the royals then she would have been told.

“I don’t think I’m allowed to tell you.”Rosalie said.

Jane stepped in before further questions were asked.”The kings will announce their punishment once each member of your coven are tried officially.”

“We understand.”Becky wanted to push but didn’t want to upset Jane.She knew even though Jane was being polite to them it could change in an instant and Becky didn’t want her or Emmett to be the recipient of Jane’s anger.

“What are your plans now that you are mated to the Assassin?”Emmett asked.

“I am going to be living at the castle now so I will need to make a trip and get all of my stuff from our houses and storage units.”Rosalie wasn’t going to take everything as she didn’t need it but there were some things she left behind like clothing and personal mementos that she didn’t want to leave behind.She wondered about her car collection. She would speak to Jane about it later.Maybe she could ask the royals about it for Rosalie.

“I’m not sure what we are going to do.”Becky and Emmett had every aspect of their lives controlled by Carlisle ever since they were turned.Now that they were on their own she wasn’t sure where to even begin.

“I can have a member of the guard help you gain control of Carlisle’s holding so you will have all the resources you need to survive on your own.”Jane knew that Didyme would approve of the offer because it was important to Rosalie and the queen would do anything to make Rosalie happy.That being because if Rosalie was happy then Bella would be happy.

“Seriously?”Emmett was surprised that Jane was willing to help them.

“Yes, unless you don’t want the help.”Jane said.

“No we want the help.”Becky easily accepted.She knew that they would get no better help than from one of the guards.

“It’s settled then.”Rosalie would have to thank Jane later.She hadn’t expected Jane to make the offer but was grateful she did.Rosalie had worried about what was going to happen to Becky and Emmett and now knowing that they would be alright was a relief.

“Rosalie we should get going as I need to speak to the kings.”Jane didn’t want to keep the royals waiting that long.That and she was very curious about what Aro found out from Emmett.It was obvious that the king learned more than what the pair had spoken about from seeing Emmett’s thoughts and Jane wanted to know what that was.

“Alright.”Rosalie wished she could stay longer but understood that Jane had duties to attend to.

“We will see you again right?”Becky asked.

Rosalie looked to Jane for permission.Receiving a nod she felt relieved that this wouldn’t be the last time she saw her brother and sister.”I’ll visit soon.”

Emmett stood from the couch and gave Rosalie a hug.”Be safe.”

“You to.”Rosalie told him.

Becky stepped up to hug Rosalie as well.”I’m so happy you got a second chance mate.You deserved it.”

“I’ll see you soon.”Rosalie said as she pulled out of the hug.

“Bye.”Emmett called out as Rosalie left the room with Jane.

Rosalie sighed once the door closed.”Thank you for offering them help.”

“Didyme would have offered the same.”Jane told her.

“Why would the queen want to help them?”Rosalie asked.

“Because it’s obviously important to you and being the Assassin’s mate anything important to you is important to the Assassin.They would have asked the queen for help themselves.I just saved them the trouble.”Jane explained.

“The Assassin would have asked for help for Emmett and Becky?”Rosalie was surprised to hear that.She wouldn’t have thought Bella would have cared about any of the Cullens.

“I told you they feel the mate bond.That being the case they want you to be happy as your happiness is what they consider their purpose in life.You don’t know it yet but once you are shown how they feel you will never doubt that the Assassin feels the mate bond.I dare say they are more effected by it than a regular vampire.”Jane told her.

“Huh.”Rosalie wasn’t sure what to think about that.She knew Jane was telling the truth as the vampire didn’t have a reason to lie.It was just that Bella didn’t show any outward signs of feeling the bond.Then again she did play the music they used to listen to together.Rosalie thought the fact that Bella even had it readily available meant that Bella listened to it over the years.Maybe that meant that Bella had always felt something for Rosalie.Jane did mention that the memories of their time spent together were the happiest memories Bella had ever shown her.Rosalie sighed.She knew that her mind would be filled with uncertainty and insecurity until Bella actually showed her what she felt.It didn’t matter though.Rosalie was getting her second chance.She could easily deal with anything if it meant she got to be with Bella.
