"Karl" - Commission for a Client

A commission for a returning client who has a deep and abiding love for Karl Fei-Ong from the anime Blood+ . I respect anyone who has such an enduring enthusiasm for a given design, and this client has commissioned me before to paint Karl specifically. I think while the design isn't actually to my tastes exactly, I was able to feel their enthusiasm in the ref materials (Including a full 3D model they made!) and was able to channel that love for it. I think it came out much nicer than I anticipated!

This was another piece that began life balanced on my knees in a Tokyo hotel room, and I stayed up pretty late over there trying my best to get it hashed out. I almost finished it while I was there and then with only a little bit left to go, flew back to the UK and completely lost the ability to function for like a week thanks to jetlag. Very pleased now it's done!
