“Oomph.”Irina grunted.Kate laughed when after the sound she saw Irina run through a tree.She along with Irina, Charlie and Bella were in the forest next to their home hunting.Even though they were warned Bella was fast Irina still tried to keep up. Unfortunately for Irina she could not and because of it she was becoming reckless.That recklessness was not helping Irina make a good impression on the dragon.

“Are you alright?”Bella asked as she helped Irina get her footing.

If Irina could blush she would be bright red.”I’m fine.I just lost track of where I was running for a second.”

“I should apologize for going so fast.It’s just that I haven’t had a chance to stretch my legs.”Bella was somewhat embarrassed that she hadn’t taken the vampire’s speed into consideration.

“Have you been in your human form most of the time since you have woken up?”Kate asked.

Bella nodded.”It makes it easier to blend in with the surroundings.My human form however is my most uncomfortable one.I prefer to be in it for the least amount of time as possible.”

“We will have to get started on building a house for you as soon as possible then.”Kate not only wanted a home on their property for Bella so she lived there full time but wanted a space for Bella to be comfortable.

“My people are more important than my comfort.”Bella said.

“Regardless we will make sure that one of the priorities is getting your home in order.That way you can have a base of operations.”Kate was not going to be deterred.Having Bella’s home built would be a good start for their future as a mated couple.

“Do you want to keep going?We haven’t caught anything.”Irina wanted to get back to hunting.Even with her random stumbles she was having a great time.

“I am still hungry so if you don’t mind I would like to continue.”Bella said.

“I’m alright with going.”Kate hadn’t gotten a chance to see her mate hunt yet and wasn’t going to miss the chance.

“I’ll go slower.”Bella promised as she took off again this time making sure the vampires were close.

As they made their way through the forest Kate perked up when she heard a group of deer.Before she could tell everyone about it Bella had already taken off towards the herd.Kate sped up and watched in awe as her mate snapped the neck of one deer and ripped the throat out of another.Not knowing what to expect Kate was surprised and awed as she watched Bella rip apart the deer and piece by piece eat each part.Bella even ate the fur and bones.

“Jesus.”Irina mumbled excitedly. She wasn’t sure what she expected going with Bella hunting but was more than happy to have witnessed the event.Bella was merciless with her prey.It made Irina excited to see what Bella was like in battle.

“You can say that again.”Kate said.

After finishing her meal Bella turned her attention to the group.”Why don’t one of you lead the hunt now so that you get a chance to feed before I scare off anything with my presence.”

“I know a good place to find bears.”Kate told them before taking off further into the forest.It was only a fews minutes before the group came upon a group of bears.Kate didn’t wait for the others as she picked the biggest bear to go after.Wanting to show off for her mate Kate took her time subduing the animal making sure to inflict as much damage as she could.Once done she drained the animal.Noticing Bella standing to the side looking at her Kate offered.”Do you want the rest of this?”

Bella shook herself to clear her mind of the many thoughts she was having at watching Kate take down the bear.Her imprint was formable and would make a fine hunting companion.The feat was so impressive that Bella had to hold herself back from claiming Kate in front of Charlie and Irina.”I would, thank you.”

“No problem.”Kate preened as she watched her mate feed from an animal she caught herself.It pleased her vampire that she was providing for Bella and was proving herself a worthy partner to the formidable woman.

“This is so awesome.”Irina said to Kate as she finished her own bear and walked over to her sister to watch Bella eat the pair.

“Yeah it is.”Kate agreed.

“Do you think that anyone has shown up yet?”Irina asked.

“I don’t know but we have been out here for a while and Charlie said that we should expect people soon.”Kate said.

“Maybe we should head back after Bella is done.”Irina was having fun but didn’t want to miss out on seeing the shifters.

“I don’t know how much Bella needs to eat.”Kate figured that after eating the two bears Bella would be full but didn’t know anything about a dragon’s appetite.

“She will be fine after she is finished with the bear.”Charlie told them as he made his way over to the pair keeping his eyes scanning for any dangers around them.

“Does she usually eat this much?”Irina asked.

Charlie nodded.”It actually might be a good idea to bring in cows to raise so she has a full supple of food and doesn’t decimate your wildlife.”

“That might be a good idea.”If Charlie was right then Kate would estimate that the wildlife would become almost extinct with Bella’s regular feeding.

“If she stays in her dragon form for a long time she will eat a lot more than this.It all depends on with form she uses.”Charlie explained.

“Then we definitely need to look into raising our own animals for her.”Kate didn’t know anything about farming but would have to research to keep her mate fed.

“It looks like she is done.”Irina said as she watched Bella stand from the small amount of carcass left of the second bear.

“Are you well fed?”Charlie asked.

Bella nodded.”Yes, I can feel my strength coming back in full.”

“We decided it would be a good idea to head back just in case people are showing up already.”Kate told her.

“Good idea.We don’t want them to attack anyone if not greeted by me or Charles.”Bella knew none of the shifters would trust the vampires right away and only her interference would stop any violence from breaking out.

“Good let’s go.”Irina didn’t wait for a reply and took off not even waiting for the others.

Kate sighed.”She is going to be a problem.”

“I think she will be fine.I’ll just make sure to claim her so that no one messes with her.”Bella knew if Irina was claimed it would stop not only the shifters but the witches from attacking the vampire as well.

“Thank you.”Kate wasn’t sure what Tanya would think of her mate being claimed by Bella but it would probably be the only way Irina would be safe from all those coming.Irina was fascinated by new things and her love of shifters was well known.Kate just hoped that her sister didn’t offend anyone because from what Bella had told them the shifters didn’t particularly like vampires and the witches outright hated them.The last thing any of them needed was Irina getting into a fight with a witch.With that thought Kate redoubled her effort to get home.Hopefully she would get there before Irina did something stupid.If not then she at least hoped Bella would be able to undo anything done to her.
