“I still can’t believe you were able to get this car waiting for you at the airport when you got off the plane.”Emmett said from the backseat of the car Rosalie was driving.She and Bella had traveled from Washington D.C. to Colorado and met Emmett, Charolette and Peter at the private airport they flew into.Although the cost made Rosalie’s eye twitch they had chartered planes for not only themselves but for the trio coming from the estate as well.The reason being so they wouldn’t be questioned about all the surveillance and tactical equipment they brought with them.

“Having a billionaire mate with a prestigious last name has its perks.”Rosalie told him.When they had debarked the plane the brand new black Mercedes Benz G Class with a matching box trailer attached was waiting for them.After Rosalie name dropped Bella the manager at the dealership had been all to happy to arrange everything for them.

“So what is the plan?”Charolette asked.

“We are going to meet up with a cougar shifter named Joan.She is the matriarch of the community and our main point of contact for this mission.She has offered her community center to us as a staging ground to work out of.”Bella told them.

“I wonder if they will let me wrestle one of them?”Emmett hoped so as he had gotten to wrestle the different shifters that came to the estate.

“Let’s wait until everyone is safe before we ask that.”Rosalie told him.

“Well duh.We have to rescue the kids and save the day first.”Emmett was very excited that he was once again chosen to go on an important mission.He hoped that he would be just as involved as last time and would actually get a chance to take out some bad guys.

“How are you planning on the infiltration?”Peter asked.

“Did you all see the surveillance photos?”Getting head nods Bella continued.”Then you see that the building in out in the open with two different ways to enter and exit.The one thing we have going for us is there is no windows from what we have seen so that would stop anyone from escaping that way.The problem we do have is that with only Rosalie and myself being able to enter the building is that we can’t cover the two exits if we are working our way through the building.”

“We didn’t want to have to involve you guys directly but we are hoping by wearing the suits you brought that you will be safe enough to form a perimeter around the building with some of the shifters close enough to help if we need it but far enough away they won’t get hurt.”Rosalie explained.

“You are planning to use shifters this time?”Charolette was surprised to hear that after learning of all the dangerous weapons the enemy had to use against them.

“We don’t want to but it might be necessary.Our hope is that we won’t need even you guys but it’s important that nobody get away from the area.”Bella told them.”There is also the fact that we don’t know these shifters so they may not be all that trusting of us and will go with or without our permission.”

“I doubt they will go against you Bella.You are the shifter Jesus.I bet that just like with the other shifters only a handful will actually get the courage to speak to you and all of them will be tripping over themselves to do anything for you.”Emmett said.

Bella grimaced at the thought.”I wish they would realize that I am just a normal person just like they are.”

“I hate to break it you sweetheart but even if you were just human you wouldn’t be a normal human.”Rosalie thought it was cute that Bella didn’t like the attention that came with her titles.It was nice that her mate didn’t use her influence for anything other than to help others and nothing bad.

“To the humans you are American royalty.”Charolette said.

“Don’t forget English royalty as well.”Emmett reminded her.

“My mother has the title I don’t.”Bella told them.

“Why don’t you just offer your mother some money to turn the title over to you?”Rosalie asked.

“I haven’t really thought about it to be honest.It wasn’t something that important when I was growing up and my mother never really did anything with the title because no one took her seriously.”Bella wondered if she should look into getting the title.

“I think it’s a good idea to take it from her.You are the Shurlong heir and will be making more of a name for yourself in the coming years.Distancing yourself and your family from your mother would probably be good for your public image.”Rosalie knew that Bella’s mother was an ongoing problem and wanted to stop the woman from trying to exploit Bella or the Shurlong name for personal gain.

“I’ll send an email to Gene when we get a chance.”Bella knew that Gene would be able to work out the deal with her mother.

“So what is going to happen when we get to the cougars?”Emmett asked getting back on track.

“We need to set up better cameras because the ones the shifters initially set up aren’t in the best locations as they were told to not get that close.Rosalie and myself will be taking care of that ourselves.”Bella turned her attention to Emmett.”We were hoping that you would be able to set up the command center and teach a few others how to use the equipment.I prefer it would be you but we need you with us this time.”

“That’s no problem Bella.”Emmett puffed up in pride at having such an important job given to him.

“I want to get this raid done quickly because once it’s done it will become quite obvious to those in charge that someone is hunting them.That will cause them to either dismiss us as any type of threat or beef up security.I’m hoping they dismiss us but know we aren’t that lucky.”Bella wished they could just walk in and everyone surrender but that wasn’t going to happen.

“Are there any leads on the other labs?”Peter asked.

“No, but they have identified some scientist which we have people assigned to follow them.That’s how we found this lab.”Rosalie told him.

“Any word on who the vampires in charge of all this?”Charolette knew that if they didn’t find the vampires in charge all this effort would be for nothing.

Bella shook her head.”Not yet, but we are hoping that the bugs we placed will give us some clues.”

“We saw a picture of you two at that charity event.The book you donated went for 35 million dollars.”Emmett said.”It was the highest priced item with the second coming in at less than a million.”

“The money went to a good cause.”Rosalie was pleased that they were able to make a difference for the charity.The fact that they had to deal with ass kissers was annoying but it was nice to dress up and see Bella dressed up as well.

“How did you get that man fired?”Charolette asked.

“Oh yeah that’s right.Some guy proposed to Bella.”Emmett had wanted to know about that as well but had forgotten with all that had been going on.

“No one proposed to me.”Bella said.

Rosalie growled thinking of the boy.”A man thought it would be a good idea to have his son try and weasel his way into our night out with some of the people from the auction.Unfortunately for the man his son was an idiot who tried to claim his family came over on the mayflower.It went down hill for him from there when Bella asked him who they were as she had an original manifest because her family came over that way as well.”

“How did they marriage thing come about?”Peter asked.

“Well when he was called out for being an idiot it was discovered he wasn’t even invited.During the confrontation he began stammering about how his father told him to get close to Bella and try and marry her.His father is an investment banker.”Rosalie explained.

Emmett laughed.”That is the stupidest thing to try and do.I mean do your homework before lying abut something as important as the Mayflower.Bella is living American history.What a moron.”

“I think it’s even more dumb that he thought he could gain your affections as it is well know to the world that you and Rosalie are dating and have been for a long time in the eyes of the media.”Charolette said.

“I don’t think we will have to worry about that boy or his father again and hopefully it will stop others from thinking they can act on their interests in me.”Bella hoped they wouldn’t have to deal with more people in the future at all but knew that she and Rosalie would most likely be busy for at least a while.

“I don’t know Tamera’s mom was very close to me ripping her throat out.”Rosalie had seen the way the woman had fawned over Bella and didn’t appreciate the blatant flirting.

“So it wasn’t just me being paranoid.The woman was being somewhat forward.”Bella had thought so but didn’t want to bring it up and upset Rosalie.

“Oh she was being forward alright.It started when you shook her hand and she held it a little too long.”Rosalie told her.

“Wait one of the people you hung out with’s mother hit on Bella?”Charlotte asked.

Rosalie nodded.”She wasn’t being that subtle about it either.”

“Wasn’t she married though.”Emmett didn’t understand why a married woman would hit on anyone.

“I personally think she was looking to upgrade.”Seeing the confused expressions Rosalie explained.”Her house wasn’t that expensive and the neighborhood was for lower end millionaires.I actually think that Bella’s Phoenix car collection is worth more than their house.”

“I guess going from that to a billionaire would be a lot better.”Peter mused.

“Especially for a middle aged socialite housewife.”Rosalie agreed.

“Anyway.”Bella said wanting to get off the topic of other people having an interest in her romantically.”We are about to pull up so I don’t need to remind everyone that don’t take offense to any hostility as vampires are the ones who kidnapped their kin.If attacked defend yourselves but try not to hurt the attacker to bad.”

“We got this Bella.You can count on us.”Emmett promised.

“You know you can trust us.”Peter told her.

“Thank you.”Bella was happy that she had such good people covering her back during these missions.Although she would never trust anyone more than she trusted Rosalie she was beginning to feel that the others were worthy of being called family.Emmett especially. The gentle giant had mellowed out some after she included him on the first mission and Bella had been impressed with his work ethic and willingness to do the not so glamorous jobs as well as the dangerous ones.That’s one of the reasons she brought him with them.He was her unofficial right hand man and the one vampire other than Rosalie that she knew she could count on.Driving up the gravel road to meet with the shifters Bella knew that having people to count on was going to be more important then ever for this mission.
