“How did you get Bella to give you her phone number?”Alice asked Rosalie as soon as she stepped in the door.Rosalie didn’t know why she was surprised Alice had seen her talking to Bella.The human had been the focus of Alice’s visions for two years.Rosalie had just wished that her sister would have asked in private because she knew that Irina and Tanya were going to want the number as well.Rosalie had promised Bella she wouldn’t give it to anyone though and she would keep that promise.No matter what threats were made.

“Bella gave you her number?”Irina asked.

“Yes, she gave me her number.”Rosalie didn’t even get to count to three in her head before Irina made her demand.

“Give it to me.”Irina was actually feeling foolish that she hadn’t asked Bella herself.

“No, Bella specifically asked that I don’t give any of you her number.”Rosalie told them.

“I don’t care what she told you.I need my daughter’s number.That way I can text her my own so she can reach me if she is in trouble.”Irina said.

“I can’t do it.Bella trusted me.I promised her I would not give it to anyone.”Rosalie wasn’t going to give Irina the number.

Before Irina could attack Rosalie Tanya grabbed her mate around the middle to keep her at her side.”My love, if you want to establish a relationship with Bella you need to go at her pace.If she asked Rosalie not to give anyone her number then we need to respect that.If we don’t it will make her resent us.”

“She won’t resent us.She’s our daughter.”Irina didn’t believe for one second Bella would resent them.

“I hate to ever agree with Tanya but she’s right Irina.Bella doesn’t know us yet.If we get to pushy she will not want any of us around her.”That was something Kate definitely didn’t want.She was beyond excited to go on the mission to solve the ghost’s murder.If Irina ruined it for her she was going to be pissed.

“Well how are we supposed to get to know her better if we don’t talk to her?”Irina asked.

“I think that we will have more than enough opportunities when we go on our trip together.”Tanya was already planning on some of the things they could do while they we away once they were done with helping the ghost.

“That’s true.We will be the chaperones so it will be our responsibility to keep her close so she doesn’t get into trouble.”Irina would have Bella stay in their hotel room.She would just have to figure out a way to get Bella to let her hold her while she slept.

“Just don’t be to pushy.Bella mentioned that although she thinks you guys are cool she feels you are a little intense.”Rosalie told them.

“We are intense?”Kate didn’t understand how Bella would think that.They had all been on their best behavior.

“You have to remember that Bella is a loner.She stays away from people for fear of them finding out about her gift.We basically forced ourselves into her life without asking her permission.I mean Bella probably still thinks that some of us are going to kill her.”Alice said.

“I thought she was over that by now.”Emmett thought they had at least had Bella’s trust.

“Bella was comfortable with me.”Rosalie was actually proud of the fact that her mate was so comfortable with her.

“She is comfortable with me as well.”Bella had allowed Irina to hold her on her lap and had comforted her while they were talking to Sasha.

”That’s not entirely true my love but she is getting there.”Tanya quickly added when Irina’s face clouded with anger.

“Well she allowed physical contact with me.She didn’t with the rest of you.”Irina glared at Rosalie.”At least she better not have.”

Rosalie bristled at Irina’s vailed threat.”If I have any physical contact with my MATE then it’s none of your business!”

“It is my business.Bella is just a child.She shouldn’t be having a mate at such young age let alone allowing that mate to be physical with her.”Irina said.

“Irina, Bella is not a child.She is on the verge of being an adult and while I wish it were different as well Rosalie is her mate.It would be cruel for either of us to keep them apart.”Tanya was of the same thought as Irina but knew it wasn’t healthy to keep Rosalie and Bella away from each other.

“Then they need a chaperone until they are married.”Irina thought that was the perfect compromise.

Kate burst out laughing.”Ok Edward.”

“You shouldn’t push it Irina because if you do they may just elope.”Emmett joked.

Irina growled at Rosalie.”You will not elope!!”

“I didn’t say anything.”Rosalie always wanted a traditional wedding with her family and friends in attendance.Although the idea of just taking Bella and eloping somewhere romantic would be nice.Just the two of them proclaiming their love to each other privately.Rosalie was getting ahead of herself.She hadn’t even taken her mate on a date yet.Weddings were a long way in the future.

“They won’t elope.”Alice said.

“What did you see?”Rosalie asked.

“Nothing, I just know that you won’t want to elope.You have been planning your wedding all your life.The first and only time you are going to get officially married you won’t elope.”Alice didn’t need to have a vision to know that Rosalie would want a big wedding.She talked about it anytime weddings were brought up.

“See there you have it. Rosalie and Bella will not elope.”Tanya hoped that the pair actually didn’t because she wasn’t as sure as Alice that Bella would want wedding and Rosalie wanting to make her mate happy would go along with eloping.

“How about we not talk about Bella and I getting married.It isn’t going to happen anytime soon.We haven’t even gone on a date yet.I just got her to not think I’m going got kill her.I doubt she knows I’m romantically interested in her.”Rosalie really needed to come up with a plan to ask Bella out.

“How about we talk about our trip to North Dakota.Alice did you get a hold of Bella’s dad?”Tanya asked changing the topic from things that would cause emotions to run high.The less conflicts the better.

Alice nodded.”I told him that we invited Bella to go with us on a camping trip to Theodore Roosevelt National Park.He seemed excited that Bella not only agreed to go with us but that she had made friends.”

“Good.I will buy the tickets.We are going to leave tomorrow.”Tanya told them.

“When you get the tickets can you make sure Bella is seated next to me.”Rosalie continued before Irina could object.”Bella requested it.She wants to sit next to me.”

Irina huffed in annoyance.”Then I want to be across the aisle from the pair of you.”

“That can easily be arranged.”Tanya said.

“One problem we are going to have on this trip is dealing with the fact that Bella doesn’t know we are vampires.”Emmett wasn’t sure how they were going to deal if the weather was sunny.

Catching on to what Emmett was saying Alice spoke.”I not only haven’t seen any problems with us going but the weather forecast is cloudy with high chances of rain.We should be fine.”

“Why can’t we tell Bella about us?”Kate asked.

“Because every time Alice sees one of us telling Bella she freaks out.”Rosalie wished it was different but Alice hadn’t given any clue to when the right time to tell the human was.

“You still haven’t figured out when to tell her?”Irina wanted to tell Bella right then but didn’t want her daughter to be scared of her and her family.

“I’m honestly surprised that Bella doesn’t suspect something already.”Kate had seen Bella’s confusion when speaking to each of their dead loved ones.

“What do you mean?”Tanya asked.

“Well if you think about it Bella told us she saw the ghosts as well as spoke to them.From the descriptions she gave us of what our loved ones looked like that alone would have her questioning things.Look at Alice’s sister.Bella said she was a very old woman.Or my father he was dressed in tribal clothing and spoke a forgotten language.”Kate explained.

“That makes sense.”Rosalie agreed.”When putting it like that it would be almost impossible for Bella not to notice something.Bella is smart she would have caught on to the differences.Even the topics we were talking about would be suspicious.Sasha wasn’t shy about talking about the immortal child or being killed for creating it.”

Irina flinched hearing her mother’s betrayal spoken about so openly.”Any daughter of mine would definitely be smart enough to realize something wasn’t adding up.What we do about that is the problem.Alice you said she freaks out when we tell her but exactly what happens?”

“In the few visions I have had of us telling her she pretends she is alright with everything.Once we talk everything out she requests time alone to have some time to think everything over.”Alice said.

“That doesn’t sound to bad.”Kate thought that was good.Bella taking time to get used to the idea.

“Yeah that part sounds good.However its after we leave her alone where things go sideways.In one vision she takes off and goes on the run.Another she tries to kill us.Those are my favorite visions because although she has no experience with vampires Bella is very creative in her ways of trying to kill us.”Alice had actually been somewhat worried because in a few of those visions Bella actually succeeded in killing a few of them.

“Have you had any visions of us being the ones to tell her?”Tanya asked.

Alice shook her head.”No the only vision I have had that concerned your family was the original one of Tanya hugging Bella.”

“Maybe if we do it it will go over better.Not only do we have familiar bonds with Bella but she has known Sasha all her life.If we can convince Bella that we would like to talk to Sasha she could help us keep Bella calm.I’m sure Bella would be more willing to listen to what we have to say with our mother there.”Irina thought that was the perfect plan.It was beyond obvious that Bella cared for Sasha and Sasha would have had to care for Bella to bring her into their lives.

“It’s to bad we can’t use Jasper to keep her calm.”Emmett said.

“Why not?”Irina asked.

“Because Bella is not only immune to his gift but Edward’s as well.”Rosalie told them rather proud that Bella was gifted enough to negate both gifts.

“Seriously!!My niece is so rad!!”Kate wondered if Bella could help others.”Do you think she can shield more than herself?”

“She needs to meet Eleazar.”Tanya was already thinking of the implications of Bella not only having the gift to talk to the dead but to block Edward and Jasper’s gifts.

“That would be a good idea.”Irina was now somewhat fearful of what would happen if people found out about Bella’s gifts.”We need to keep this to ourselves.The last thing we need is the Volturi finding out.”

“Actually that might not be a problem.”Alice said.

“How will the Volturi not be a problem?”Emmett knew that someone like Bella would be exactly who Aro would want for his guard.

“We all heard when Bella was talking to Vera she mentioned something about bringing a human Bella to meet with the queen.”Alice remind them.

“Yes, but that was to get approval to have a child.”Rosalie still hadn’t had time to think about the fact that a child would be a real option in the future.She hadn’t wanted to get her hopes up until she and Bella were much further in their relationship.Bella may not want to have children.

Kate laughed.”That’s right.Tanya and Irina are going to be grannies.”

“I don’t think we need to worry about Bella and Rosalie having children for quite some time.”Tanya had to admit even if only in the privacy of her own mind that the thought of having a grandchild was rather exciting.It was definitely something she was looking forward to.

“Let’s get back to the Volturi.”Irina would celebrate with her mate later about being grandmothers.The thought of having a little baby that was Bella’s was something she wanted but she didn’t want her daughter to grow up to fast.That’s why she would only let Tanya know how she felt about it.No need to have Rosalie thinking she would condone them moving quickly through their courtship.

“Well if what your friend said was true then it seems that the Voltrui will allow you something that is unheard of.However she said that you had to bring Bella to meet the queen.So maybe if you bring Bella to the queen sooner we can get ahead of the Volturi coming after us.”Kate didn’t want to sacrifice her niece but didn’t want all of them killed because Aro got it in his head that he needed to have Bella in the guard.

“Why do you think Bella is important to the queen?”Alice asked.

“I would think that she is going to have a conversation with the queen with a ghost.”Emmett said.

“The queen has been alive for thousands of years.I bet she has loads of people she wants to talk to.”Tanya mused.

“I wonder why Bella needs to talk to her though.Wouldn’t it be better if she talked to the kings.I mean wouldn’t Marcus want to talk to Didyme.”Irina would figure that is who Bella needed to talk to.

“That is concerning.Marcus has more power than both queens combined.For Bella to need to talk to Sulpicia is strange and probably not for a good reason.I suspect that whatever Bella has to talk to the queen about will not be something good.”Kate said.

“So what do we do?”Rosalie hated that she felt helpless.She didn’t have a gift that would help protect her mate.It make her feel inadequate to be bonded to Bella.

“There isn’t much we can do right now except to not tell anyone about Bella.We have only just befriended Bella today.It’s to soon to planning to take her to the Volturi.”Tanya said.

“If we don’t want anyone to tell anyone about Bella then we need to contain Edward.”Emmett told them.

“What is wrong with Edward?”Irina asked.

“He is very against the idea of us getting involved with Bella.He has started numerous fights about us watching out for her.When it was decided we were going to approach her he threw a fit and demanded we leave Forks.”Rosalie was still pissed she hadn’t gotten to beat on the mind reader for his comments.

“Do think he will be a liability?”Tanya knew Edward was petty and always expected to get his own way but didn’t know if he would go against his family.

“I am positive he is a liability.I haven’t had any solid visions of him going to Italy but I have had some of him on the phone with Aro.From what I can tell he doesn’t mention Bella but we all know that Edward would sell her out for a favor from the kings.”Alice had been trying to keep an eye on Edward but hadn’t seen anything incriminating yet.

“Does he often speak to Aro?’Kate asked.

“He has been known to speak to him from time to time.He claims it’s to keep Aro away from the family.”Emmett didn’t believe that though and because he didn’t he,Alice and Rosalie had many escape plans to get away from the Cullens.With Bella involved they would have to rework things so she was protected as well.

Kate scoffed at the very idea.”I am more inclined to believe he is selling you out to save himself.Hell I bet that he would use Jasper as a bargaining chip if it allowed him to save his own life.”

“Bella needs to come to Alaska and get away from Edward.”Irina could keep Bella safer in Denali.They had lived on the land for centuries and knew it like the back of their own hand.

“Wait a second.Bella doesn’t need to go anywhere.”Rosalie shot down that idea right away.”One it would not keep Edward from telling Aro about her, two Bella probably won’t like to be forced to live in isolation with a bunch of strangers.”

Irina growled.”My daughter would be safer with her family!!”

“Rosalie has a point Rina.We just met Bella this morning it’s way too soon to start making plans for her to move in with us.”Tanya would have preferred that Bella move in with them as well but understood it wouldn’t happen anytime soon.

“Then it’s settled.We kill Edward.”Kate concluded.

“We are not killing Edward.”Tanya held up a hand to stop Kate from arguing.”Not only would it not be right to kill anyone I doubt that Jasper or Carlisle and Esme would approve.”

“I could take Jasper.”Irina volunteered.

“Irina!!”Tanya couldn’t believe her mate was agreeing with Kate.

Irina shrugged.”Bella’s life is at stake.That and we all hate Edward anyway.No one would really miss him.”

“I am skilled enough to take care of Esme.”Rosalie would do anything to save her mate.Even if she had to kill members of her coven.

“Alice and I could easily take Carlisle.”Emmett was more than willing to destroy his coven to keep Bella safe.

“No!!We are not killing the Cullens.”Tanya told them.

“Well if we can’t kill them how about we disassemble them until we figure out what to do with Bella.”Kate suggested.

“That is a good idea.”Irina would prefer to kill them but she would take what she could get.

Tanya rubbed her forehead convinced she was getting a headache.”We are not harming the Cullens in any way.I will speak to Carlisle about the issue and have him get Edward under control.”

“Yeah right like he could actually control Edward.”Everyone knew that Edward was the real coven leader of the Cullens.Carlisle was just a figurehead.Kate had seen it when the coven was making family decisions.It always went Edward’s way.

“So that means we are back killing everyone.”Alice concluded.She wasn’t against the idea.The only reason she even found the Cullens was to meet up with Emmett.She wasn’t that attached to them.It was implied many times that she was only accepted into the coven because of her gift.

“Alright I will say this one more time.We are in no way harming or killing the Cullens.The next person who brings it up will not being going to North Dakota with us.”Tanya knew a threat was the only way they would stop thinking it was an option.

“Fine but if anything happens to Bella because of Edward you are going to be in a world of hurt.”Irina warned.

Seeing the look Irina was giving her Tanya gulped.Trying to show that she was in control she cleared her throat before she spoke.”Well hopefully it won’t come to that.”

“It better not.”Tanya would wish she had never been born when Irina was done with her if Bella got hurt.

“I think I am going to go buy our tickets and get our hotel rooms sorted.We want to leave early tomorrow so I need to get on it.”Tanya ignored Kate’s laughter as she made a hasty retreat.She didn’t doubt her mate’s threat.Not that Tanya would allow anything to happen to their daughter it was just that Edward was such a wild card.The boy did what he wanted no matter the consequences.That made him dangerous.Tanya hated to admit it but maybe killing Edward was the right thing to do.At this point it was his life or hers and Tanya wasn’t going to be killed by her mate over a selfish child’s actions.
