Added 2021-11-25 19:50:49 +0000 UTCSomething else i'm going to be noodling around with for fun in between client work - i've wanted to paint Kaneko's infamous Mara design for a long time, just for the sake of it. Obviously this one is a little.... ribald in appearance but i've always appreciated it for having such a wonderfully complex/ornate vibe, the ironic usage of the eight spoked wheel, the simple green/gold colourscheme.. I want to do it justice. I was partially inspired by one of the only non-Kaneko images of the SMT Mara design from way back in the day, included in a promotional SMT annual if I recall correctly in the late 90s. It's notable for also approaching the design "honestly" rather than as a simple up and down dick joke - check it out here! I wish I could get a souce on the artist....
