Love Song For A Vampire 12
Added 2022-07-08 12:02:38 +0000 UTC“This is called what again?” Rosalie asked Sebastian as the pair worked their way through eating the many different foods he brought back to their hotel room. During Rosalie’s human years her family had been more than wealthy enough that Rosalie had thought she was introduced to many types of cuisine but now with the food laid out in front of her she knew that she didn’t even scratch the surface of the many cultures worth of food that was available in the present.
“It’s shrimp tempura. They take the shrimp dip it in batter and then fry it in hot oil.” Sebastian explained.“It’s good right?”
Rosalie nodded. “Not as good as the butter chicken but I like it.”
“You still have to try fried chicken.” Sebastian said.
“I remember chicken but don’t think I ever had it fried.” Rosalie didn’t remember having any kind of fried food.
“I would have gotten some but it wouldn’t have been as good as the stuff mom makes. Actually mom makes better food than any chef I have ever tried.” Sebastian told her.
“Does Bella eat as well then?” Rosalie asked as she looked over to Bella who was talking on the phone in what she figured was the fae dialect.
“Yeah but not as often as we do. She says it’s because with the magic used to keep our bodies young we need all the energy we can get so we need more calories. Everything we eat or drink is broken down by our bodies and turned into fuel. That’s why we don’t have to go to the bathroom. Our bodies need everything we put into them. If we didn’t eat we would get really weak and tired.” Sebastian remembered when he was originally given his immortality and he hadn’t kept up with eating. He had been so weak his mother had to feed him because he didn’t have the energy to lift the fork.
Rosalie was happy that she didn’t have to worry about gaining weight because if she needed as much food as Sebastian was talking about then she would have gained a lot very quickly. “What kind of food does she eat?”
“She likes fruits and vegetables the most. She will eat anything though and will cook anything I ask her to. She learned to cook when she was growing up in the church. That’s why she’s so good. She made meals for the important priests and priestesses.” Sebastian said.
“They made her cook for them?” Rosalie was surprised to hear that. “Wasn’t she important even when she was younger?”
Sebastian nodded. “Yeah she has been treated like a god ever since she was born. The reason she would cook is because when the attention and the expectations would get to much for her she would sneak into the kitchens and help the staff. When she first started going to the kitchens they would simply give her a snack and send her on her way but as she kept coming back eventually they let her start helping. I personally think that the high priestess told them to let mom stay in the kitchen if she wanted to but I can’t be sure.”
“Was she raised just by the high priestess?” Rosalie remembered Sebastian telling her Bella was left outside of the high priestess’ chambers.
“Mostly. The high priestess took the fact that mom was left outside her door to mean that she was personally being chosen to care for what they consider a child of god. She gets a lot of respect just because she was chosen. Not as much as mom but a lot people refer to her as the holy mother.” Sebastian liked the high priestess because she didn’t look down on him for being human like some of the more traditional fairies did. Most of those fairies also thought that Bella should have as many biological children as she could so that there would be more fae born with angel blood. The gross part was that many of them thought that they should be the sire of Bella’s children.
“I can see why they would think that.” Rosalie likened the way the fairy church thought of Bella a lot like the humans thought about Jesus. Except that their messiah walked amongst them.
“What are you two talking about?” Bella asked as she finish her phone call and took a seat next to Rosalie at the table.
“How much food we need to eat.” Sebastian lied. He knew how much his mother hated talking about angel stuff so he didn’t want to upset her by bringing it up in front of her.
“You do need to eat a lot. It looks like you two are enjoying yourselves though.” Bella looked at the pile of empty containers sitting on the table and the floor.
“We saved you some apple crisp.”Sebastian turned his attention to Rosalie. “Mom has a really bad sweet tooth. If you want to get on her good side offer her fruit desserts. Although she is keen on white chocolate as well.”
“Good to know.” Rosalie was already planning on getting a cook book to learn how to make some desserts for Bella. She had never cooked before but figured maybe Esme could teach her. That brought another thought. “What am I supposed to tell my family happened to me?”
“What do you want to tell them?” Bella asked.
“Well I want to tell them I’m human again. It’s not like I can keep it from them anyway but I want my family to share in my joy.” Rosalie wasn’t sure how Bella would react to her next question but pushed though her discomfort to ask anyway. “I know when they find out that a couple of them will want to be human as well. Would you be willing to offer them the chance to change back?”
“I would be willing however there are consequences.” Bella warned.
“What sort of consequences?” Rosalie didn’t think it would be anything to bad.
“Your governing body would likely take notice if a coven as big as yours suddenly became human.” Bella knew that the Volturi would eventually find out about it and come to investigate.
Rosalie hadn’t thought about that. “I don’t know what they would do if they found out.”
“From what mom has told me not anything good.” Sebastian said. “The Volturi sound like horrible rulers.”
“You know about the Volturi?” Rosalie was surprised to hear that, then again Bella knew about vampires.
Bella nodded. “Of course. I had a few run ins with those idiots.”
“They really don’t like mom.” Sebastian told her.
“What happened?” Rosalie asked.
Bella waved her hand dismissively.“It wasn’t that big of a deal. I just thwarted their plans to exterminate the entire werewolf population.”
“Children of the moon no longer exist.” Rosalie along with every vampire alive knew the story of Caius almost being killed by one and killing off the rest of them in retaliation.
“Of course they do. The Volturi just don’t like telling people about it. I mean how embarrassing would it be for them if people found out that it wasn’t actually a werewolf that almost killed the king but a single human looking woman. I defeated him easily and in return for his life he was told to leave the werewolves alone.” Bella explained.
“If that’s true then why haven’t there been any sightings?” Rosalie asked.
“Children of the moon are a rather secretive lot. They usually live far away from humans and rarely turn others.” Bella told her.
“But they can’t control themselves on full moons. How do they stay hidden then?” Rosalie was sure that at least one werewolf would slip up and expose themselves.
“That’s a myth. They can control themselves just as well as shifters can. They only difference between the two is that shifters can pass the shifting on to their offspring and werewolves are created by being bitten by another while they are changed.” Bella knew that those myths were created by actual werewolves so that people would be afraid of them.
“How you ever met one?” Rosalie asked.
“Of course,so has Sebastian. If you would like I can bring you to one of their villages.” Bella offered. It had been a few years since she visited some of her friends so it would be nice to see them again.
“I’ll think about it.” Rosalie wasn’t sure if she wanted to meet one of the children of the moon. She had spent her whole vampire existence scared of the creatures so it would take a while for her to believe they were harmless.
“Let’s get back to what to tell your family. What exactly would you like to happen?” Bella would follow Rosalie’s lead on how this would play out.
“I would like them to be offered immortality. I don’t want to lose any of them.” Rosalie couldn’t imagine having to watch her family members grow old and die.
“I can do that however they will not be offered the shield or the magic to age at will.” Bella continued before Rosalie could ask why. “Your family is not bonded to me so it would be an insult to my fae brethren to give them so many gifts.”
“I don’t understand.” Rosalie said.
“When mom gives out blessings it’s considered a direct blessing from god. You know how Errol wouldn’t even ask her to help him when he was hurt because he felt he was unworthy?” Rosalie nodded. “Well if mom granted strangers four different blessings then it would be insulting to her people. Some of those people travel for months to go to the main temple for just the chance to see mom not even knowing if she will be there. So think about how the fairies would react if they found out about your family.”
“That makes sense.” Rosalie couldn’t fault Bella’s people for thinking that way. It would be insulting to Rosalie as well if she was them.
“The immortality is pushing it a little far but I can get away with that by saying it was a gift to my mate to celebrate us reuniting.” Bella figured she wouldn’t say anything about it unless asked directly.
“Are your people mortal?” Rosalie had assumed that all fairies were immortal.
“Yes. The immortally spell is only preformed for those who have been deemed to important to our society to lose.” Bella told her.
“What mom isn’t saying is she is the only one alive who can actually preform the immortally spell and refuses to use it on anyone she deems unworthy.”Sebastian said.
“How did you learn it then?” Rosalie asked.
Bella shifted in her seat uncomfortable with this line of questioning. “Well when I was younger the high priestess became very ill.She was able to be healed but I was scared that I would lose her. It was because of that I found a way to let her live longer than she normally would.”
“Once again mom isn’t telling you the whole truth.” Sebastian ignored the glare Bella was sending his way. “The real story is that when the high priestess became ill mom was the one who healed her. The illness was considered life threatening and none of the other healers where able to do more than make the woman comfortable.”
Rosalie wasn’t surprised to hear that Bella was the only one who could heal a life threatening illness. “How did you find the spell though? If no one else could preform it how were you able to?”
“She prayed.” Sebastian said before Bella could speak. “She was so worried about the high priestess dying that after she healed her she fasted for a week and locked herself in the private temple only accessible to the highest members of the church and she prayed. The story is that at the end of the week mom came out of the temple almost delirious from not eating, drinking or sleeping for an entire week. Her body would barely work because she spent that whole week kneeling in front of the statue of their god not moving a muscle.”
“What happened next?” Rosalie was riveted hearing the length her mate went to save a woman’s life.
“When she came out of the temple one of the attendants that had been guarding the door not allowing anyone to enter said that mom stumbled out and fell into her arms only whispering the high priestess’ name. Not knowing what to do she carried mom to the high priestess and when she got there the woman transferred mom to the high priestess’ arms. I’m told that as soon as mom touched the high priestess her magic flared and covered the both of them and when it finally finished mom passed out and slept for three days. The high priestess stayed by her bedside the entire time and when she awoke mom told her that during her prayers god spoke to her and gave her a way to save the priestess.” Sebastian told her.
Rosalie looked at Bella in awe. “God spoke to you?”
“I thought so at the time.” Bella didn’t like the look Rosalie was giving her. It was obvious that the half angel discussion was about to be brought up again.
“How do you know if the spell worked?” Rosalie asked.
“The high priestess is really really old. Like more than a couple thousand years old. Fairies only usually live for about 300 years.” Sebastian said.
“And you don’t think you are half angel?” Rosalie couldn’t understand if god directly spoke to her that Bella could still deny that she had divine heritage.
Sebastian threw his hands up in the air.”I know right?! I don’t get it either.”
“I’m not half angel. I am just a devoted member of the church who was chosen to save an acolyte of god. It could have been anyone else chosen. I was just the first to pray on it.” Bella said dismissively.
“Sure you were. No one in the fairy church ever thought to pray for their leadership to live for a long time. You were the first.” Sebastian didn’t believe that for a second. It wasn’t like he could convince Bella otherwise though.
“Anyway. Once again lets get back to your family.” Bella wanted to get off the topic of god and angels.
“Ok so them not being able to change their appearance wouldn’t be that bad because they already know how to adapt to that. Dealing with the Volturi will be a problem. Would you be willing to help them if something goes wrong with the royals?” Rosalie figured with Bella on their side they would be alright.
Bella nodded. “I may not like to get involved in certain things but I would gladly offer my protection to your family.”
“Then I don't see any real problems with helping them. I am not actually sure all of them will take the offer though.” Rosalie thought maybe Emmett would be against changing and possibly Carlisle. Edward would probably jump at the chance. “Would their gifts carry over if they were charged into human again?”
“Yes. I can’t take away a vampire’s gift. I can shield myself and others against it but I can’t take it away.” Bella wished she could because there were a few vampires she had met that didn’t deserve to have a gift.
“That’s to bad. It would be nice to be able to take Edward’s gift away from him.” Rosalie was just thankful she was immune to it and wouldn’t have to worry about him anymore.
“It would. Now why don’t you finish eating. The food will help you feel better.”Bella said.
“After that I’ll call my family. Maybe we can visit them tomorrow?” Rosalie was feeling better and figured by the next day she would be well enough to go back to Forks.
“We’ll see how you feel. I think you will probably be sleeping most of tomorrow.” Bella could see how tired Rosalie was and didn’t know how she was still keeping her eyes open.
“You’re probably right.” Rosalie was tired. She felt better after her nap and the food was making her feel less weak. She hoped that she would feel up to visiting her family because she was beyond excited to tell them about being human. Maybe she would invite Alice and Jasper to come visit them. If she told them first then it might be easier to tell everyone else. Rosalie also wanted a chance to talk to Alice about why she lied about her gift working on Bella. She figured her sister had a good reason and Rosalie didn’t want to call her out in front of the rest of the family. That could wait a little while longer however. Now she wanted to enjoy the rest of her meal with Bella and Sebastian. Looking at the two Rosalie began envisioning future family dinners that could possibly include her vampire family. It was a nice thought and one she hoped would come true very soon.

This is the part that gets me. Rose doesn't have a close bond to Edward Lauren or Carlisle why bring Bella to meet them. Then you want Bell to change your siblings just like that. No getting to know them or see if she likes them. Rose didn't even want to get away and comeback and tell them. The crazy part she knew Edward and Lauren didn't like Bella. Why not bring them to the hotel instead.
