“What did you speak to the dragon about?” Irina asked Kate as she and her sisters settled in for the flight back to Alaska. It seemed like forever to Irina for them to finally leave the Cullens and be on their way so she could finally get a chance to ask Kate the question that she had been dying to ask. They by mutual agreement waited until they were sure they had complete privacy before speaking of anything important and now that they were on a plane flying thousands of miles in the sky Irina finally had her chance.

“We talked about some personal stuff that came up.” Kate wasn’t going to make it easy for Irina to get the information. Both sisters knew of Irina’s love of anything to do with were creatures so Kate wanted to have a little fun before telling them.

“That isn’t an answer.” Irina whined.

“Well that’s the only one I’ve got for you.” Kate said.

“What did you and the dragon talk about Kate?” Tanya knew what Kate was up to and not only did she not want to deal with them fighting.They all needed to know any information they could about the dragon.

“You guys are no fun.” Kate grumbled. “Fine Bella is my mate and I am her imprint.”

“What?!!” Irina screeched.

“Jesus.” Kate put her hands over her ears in hope of saving some of her hearing as Irina’s screech turned into squealing.

Irina clapped her hands together excitedly.“This is so exciting!!Do you think she would be willing to give me a ride on her dragon now that she is part of our coven?”

“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves Irina.” Tanya could already see the many problems Irina was going to cause now that she had a direct link to the dragon. “Is that what you discussed with Bella?”

“Yes, when we first made eye contact I knew she was my mate but because she didn’t say anything I was unsure if she felt the bond. I actually wasn’t sure if she could feel the bond at all. When she was leaving and still said nothing I decided that I would bring it up to her.” Kate explained.

“How did she react?” Tanya asked.

Kate smiled thinking of her mate’s response. “Well she acknowledged that she felt the bond but was distressed because she couldn’t give me the proper attention she felt I deserved.”

“She said that?” Irina held back another squeal when Kate nodded. “Oh my god she’s so cute.”

“I wouldn’t say that to her face.” Kate warned.

“What else did you speak about?” Tanya was trying to think of the repercussions of the bond in terms of their alliance. Initially she figured she could use Rosalie as an intermediary between them and the dragon but if Kate was bonded to the dragon then it could work in their favor.

“Just about the bond and the upcoming war. She mentioned that she needed to train not only her army but ours as well.” Kate said.

“So she is already planning on training our people?”Tanya had hoped to get the chance to ask Bella for some help with training but knowing the dragon had planned to help them all along caused some of Tanya’s anxiety to ease somewhat. They may have a few good fighters amongst their allies but none of the obvious skill of Bella and Charlie.

“Yes.” Kate confirmed. “I believe it was her plan all along to train us with her people.”

“Do you think she will be having all her people meet us in Alaska?” Irina tried to hold back her excitement because they were preparing to go to war with a dangerous enemy but it was hard. She was getting to meet the creatures she had done so much research on and it was like a dream come true. The only thing that could make this better was if Bella let her ride on her dragon but she was going to wait to ask. Maybe she could have Kate ask for her.

“I think we should offer her the option. We would just have to figure out lodging. Getting food would be easy.” Tanya liked the idea of having Bella use their home as a base of operation.It would guarantee that they would at least know what was going on even if they weren’t involved in the decision making.

“We should call in some people and have them start building structures on our property. That way we can show Bella that we are thinking about her people’s comfort.” Kate figured if they made their home more appealing to Bella than maybe the dragon would want to live there full time.

“I like that idea. It would be a good way to show we are sincere in our want to form an alliance.” Tanya said.”We’ll need to reach out to the Volturi to get them to send people to help. We will also need to figure out where to get that much building materials to be able to build buildings large enough to hold a lot of people because I get the feeling that there are a lot more were creatures in the world than we realized.”

“What different types do you think are going to come?” Irina asked.

Kate rolled her eyes at her sister. “I’m sure there will be plenty of them for you to talk to. I do wish that the Cullens weren’t such idiots because Esme would be perfect for helping out with this project.”

“I think if we want to make it so Bella doesn’t just get fed up with all of us and let us face our enemy alone that we need to keep the Cullens as far away from her as possible.” Tanya had no doubt if Bella was faced with anyone in that coven again she would be pushed beyond her breaking point and they wouldn’t need to worry about the Romanians coming for them.

“I did like how she dealt with them though. Especially because now we don’t have to worry about Edward anymore.” Irina had hated the fact that they had no privacy when around the boy and if it wasn’t for Sulpicia’s love of Carlisle she probably would have killed Edward herself.

“I was very surprised she was able to do that.”Kate liked the fact that her mate was turning out to be more extraordinary than she had initially believed.

“It makes you wonder what else she is capable of.” Tanya mused.

“Well we know she has magic so I assume she is capable of a lot.” Irina said.

“That’s another thing we need to speak with them about. We all thought the dragon was just a myth and now we find out that not only is she real but witches are as well. It’s mind blowing. Did anyone hear any mention of them reaching out to any to join the fight?” Tanya hoped Bella would be able to convince some to help with the fight.

“Bella didn’t say anything to me and the other four didn’t say anything that I heard.” Kate looked to Irina.

Irina shook her head. “I wish we had more of an opportunity to talk to Rosalie before the wolves had come. It seemed like she would have told us more as she was openly answering all of our questions.”

“Rosalie also has the dragon’s trust. If anyone knows what is going on it is her.” Tanya had seen it when the dragon had differed to her but also when the dragon mentioned Rosalie was going with her to have her talks with the wolves.

“Bella also claimed ownership of her.” Irina had of course heard of slavery but it seemed ownership was something different.

“It shows how high of a regard she holds her her people in.” Kate said.

“Carlisle’s punishment for his disrespect of the wolves was more than enough proof of that. I honestly think she would have overlooked the initial insult if he hadn’t pulled the stunt he did with them.” Tanya had somewhat mixed feelings on the punishment Bella gave Carlisle. It had been brutal and a part of her was happy Carlisle finally got put in his place but another part of her wondered if she did the right thing by letting the punishment happen. “I wonder if we should have interfered.”

“I think that if we had she wouldn’t have been willing to even talk to us. After his initial insult to then challenge the wolves was downright stupid. Then to use her first name after it was beyond obvious no one but Rosalie was allowed.” Irina shook her head. “The stupidity of that man. I’m actually surprised she let him live.”

“He will have a constant reminder of that stupidity for the rest of eternity.”Kate agreed it had been brutal but in a way it was the only thing Bella could do to show everyone that she was the biggest predator out of all of them. “She did make it so all of us knew she wasn’t one to be messed with.”

“I admit that when she exited her car in her human form I had my doubts about her prowess but as soon as she transformed and we saw not only how intimating she was but the added scaring I actually felt a bit of fear.” Tanya hadn’t liked the feeling at all. It wasn’t often she and her sisters encountered a being that could easily take the three of them in a fight and when faced with someone like Bella who she knew could easily destroy everyone at the Cullens even if they all went against her had been unsettling.

“I never felt afraid of her. I think it was the bond that influenced me though.” Kate had felt many things looking at her mate most of them unfit to speak out loud but never fear.

“She definitely is committed to the bond though right?” Tanya asked.

“Yes, she seemed happy about the bond. Her only problem with it being we wouldn’t have time to spend alone together to strengthen it.” Kate said.

“Good that means that she probably wouldn’t hurt any of us because it would hurt you as well.” Tanya was relieved to hear that. It gave them a layer of safety with the dragon. A layer of safety that Tanya knew few others had.

Kate was appalled that Tanya would even think her mate would hurt them. “Bella would never hurt you anyway. From the little I learned from spending time with her is that she only acts when it is needed. While she may have been a little bit harsh with him could you honestly blame her for doing what she did to Carlisle?”

“No I can’t.It was the perfect way to show her dominance and cement her position with us.” Tanya said.

“Exactly.” Kate was happy that Tanya seemed to understand Bella’s purpose for doing what she did.

“So what is our plan for when she comes?” Irina asked.

“When we get home we will have Carmen go out to buy food for them while we get the guest rooms in order for them. Do you think Bella will want to room with you?” Tanya figured if they were bonded they would stay in the same room.

“I don’t know. I think we should plan for her to have her own room for now.” Kate figured she could ask the dragon when she got there.

“The dragon has only been released for a couple days do you think she will need other things?” Irina didn’t know what Bella had been sealed away with.

“That’s a good point.” Tanya tried to think of how they could help Bella. “When we land Kate can call Rosalie and ask her what else Bella would need. Not only would it be a gesture of good will on our part but it would probably let them get here quicker.”

“Irina and I can take care of the rooms if you want to call the Volturi queens and let them know of everything that happened. It’s not like all three of us need to be there for the conversation.” Kate personally didn’t want to deal with the politics. “I don’t think it a good idea to tell anyone about Bella and my’s bond though.”

“I agree. It would make Kate a big target for the enemy.” Although Irina was excited for the bond she didn’t want her sister put in danger because of it.

“I think it’s a good idea to keep it to ourselves as well.” Tanya was thinking along the same lines as Irina. Anyone who knew could possibly be a danger to Kate.

“Good then it seems like we have a plan.” Kate hoped that whatever Bella was doing didn’t take to long because she desperately wanted to see her mate. She had waited over a thousand years to finally have a mate and now that she had one she wanted to be with her as soon as she could. If she wasn’t one of the queens and didn’t have her own duties she would have asked Bella if she could have stayed with her while she dealt with the wolves so they didn’t have to be away from each other. Sighing Kate realized that being apart from one another was probably going to be a common theme in her relationship as they were dealing with the threat coming for them. She knew the wait would be worth it in the end though because after meeting her mate Kate knew that she was the luckiest person who had ever lived. Bella was beyond anything she could have imagined her mate would be and if she had to wait until they crushed the Romanians to be together it would just make the victory over the enemy that much sweeter.
