Every Time It's You 26
Added 2022-02-25 20:21:38 +0000 UTC"We have two days.” Alice said as she walked up to the group of vampires all standing around watching as Isabella was training Rosalie. Isabella had wanted them to train in private but as soon as the others found out that Isabella was doing one on one training they all had gathered to watch. Isabella knew they were interested in her fighting style but would have liked some quiet time with just Rosalie. She couldn’t begrudge the other’s interest though and knew it was her irritability of not being able to go home yet that had put her in this mood.
“What did you see Alice?” Tanya asked. She was happy Isabella had let them watch her train Rosalie. Even though Isabella was focusing on Rosalie’s fighting style it gave Tanya an idea of how skilled Isabella was. From what they had witnessed so far Tanya realized that Isabella had been holding back with them. She was hoping she could convince Isabella to do some specialized training with her as well because if the progress Rosalie had already made meant anything then they all could benefit from personal training. Tanya still hadn’t gotten the chance to talk to Isabella about her tracking skills. She knew she wasn’t the only one who was interested and Tanya hoped Isabella would be willing to teach the group even if she wouldn’t do individual training.
“I saw a group of about 30 newborns and Victoria marching across the clearing we were training in.” Alice told them.
“Finally we are going to get to do something.” Emmett had liked learning all the new moves and skills from Isabella but he wanted to be able to finally use them on something. He hadn’t even gotten to use his gloves on more than just trees and some boulders.
“Do you think we are ready?” Irina asked Isabella.
“I think we have very good odds of coming out of this without casualties. It is not a guarantee though so we need to not get cocky. If we do then we all will fail.” Isabella warned.
“I think I should call the wolves.” Carlisle said.
“When you do could you pass along a message that I will come by later?” Isabella wanted to visit the wolves to get in one more day of training before the army came. They would need to take the day before off to rest so it was important for them to get in as much practice as they could.
“Of course.” Carlisle would have loved to go with Isabella to the reservation but the wolves only made an exception for Isabella, Tanya and Rosalie. He was still surprised his daughter got the pass but after sharing the hover bike with them they had allowed Rosalie to visit as long as she was accompanied by either Isabella or Bella.
“Do you have to leave now or can we keep going?” Rosalie asked. She had made a lot of progress so far with Isabella but didn’t want to stop. She knew that they had only scratched the surface on what Rosalie could do so she wanted as much time as she could get with Isabella before the army came.
“We can keep going for a bit.” Isabella said.
“When you are done with the wolves would you be willing to work with some of us one on one as well?” Liam asked. He along with everyone else could see how much Rosalie had improved and hoped that Isabella would spend some time with at least him or one of his coven mates. The Irish coven had benefited more than he could have ever imagined and he was thankful that they had went against their instincts and traveled to Forks when Carlisle had asked them to all those months ago.
Isabella held back a sigh, she knew this was going to happen if she let the others watch her train Rosalie. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to help the others it was just she had wanted some down time before the fighting happened. Looking at the hopeful faces of the group she made her decision. “I can train those who wish but you guys have to work out who I train and for how long. I plan on spending most of the day with the wolves and then I can help whoever wants help.”
“Yes!!” Emmett cheered. When he had asked Rosalie to ask Isabella about doing individual training with him she had been reluctant to ask. Rosalie had said that Isabella hadn’t actually wanted to train her and she didn’t want to force Isabella to do more than she already had.
“I go first.” Kate called out. There was no way she was going to go last like she did for her turn on the hover bike.
Tanya knew that it was going to once again be up to her to set the guidelines on how the training was going to happen. She was happy that Isabella had agreed to train each of them but was irritated because now she wouldn’t get as much personal time with the vampire as she had hoped she would. “How about we set it up by covens with one from each taking a turn and rotating based on that.”
“That would be fine with us.” Siobhan would have liked all of her coven going first but knew that it was only fair to have them rotate. With Tanya’s proposal members of each coven would get a chance and not be forced to go last if they based it on random picking.
“We agree as well.” Carlisle hoped that Rosalie didn’t take their turn though. He selfishly wanted to go first. Even though they all had improved with the group training they had been doing he knew that he was nowhere near being considered a good fighter. Jasper could hold his own and Emmett had been doing enough training with Isabella’s group that he didn’t need the one on one time as much.
“Great then we will work it out amongst ourselves. I would like to go first as my mate is human and I will need all the help I can get to keep her safe.” Tanya felt it was fair as all the other mated pairs were all vampires and had enough skill to take care of themselves at least until help arrived.
“I think that is actually a good idea.” Carlisle knew he would want to go first if Esme was still human.
“We will not stand in your way of going first.” Siobhan thought it not only fair because Bella was human but because Isabella was only in their dimension to save Tanya and Bella.
“Thank you.” Tanya was happy they didn’t object to her training first. She needed all the help she could get to keep her mate safe as they still hadn’t figured out how to keep Bella close to Isabella in the fight so that she could be shielded.
“Wait that means the rest of us have to go after all of you?” Kate asked.
“It means that after myself someone from the Cullens and the Irish coven will go then another one of our coven and so on. I want Carmen to go second out of our coven.” Carmen was going to be needed to protect Eleazar and with only Carlisle and Esme to help them Tanya wanted them to be able to succeed.
“Oh come on!!”Kate knew it. She wouldn’t get to go until last. “When do I get to go?”
“Well I want Irina to go after Carmen and Eleazar to go after her, so you will go last.” Tanya expected Kate to be mad but Kate could more than handle herself and with the way she had progressed with her gift wouldn’t even need the extra training.
“Actually” Isabella interjected. “I would like to train Maggie and Irina together.”
“Why do you want us together?” Irina was happy to stay with her mate but didn’t understand why pairing up instead of doing individual training was the best idea.
“The two of your fighting styles will always be more effective if you continue to do as I have already taught you. Maggie using her gift and Irina protecting her. While we can train you individually it is silly not to have you learn together so you can know how to adapt to different situations. If you want to do individual training I won’t stop you but I think one on one training with both of you is a waist of time.” Isabella explained.
Maggie thought about what Isabella said. While they had been doing group training her and Irina had been learning to work with the team and move to different areas they were needed but they hadn’t really learned more than basic defense. It would make sense for her and Irina to learn how to fight together if they were always going to stay together. “I think us training together is a good idea.”
“I agree.” Irina liked the idea of being paired up with her mate. They hadn’t really practiced on their own and she now realized they should have been this whole time. She was just thankful Isabella was nice enough to offer her and her mate the opportunity to protect each other.
“I think that Maggie and Irina should take our first turn then.” Siobhan said. She knew her mate would be sad to not go first but it was important for the two least experienced members of their coven who didn’t have that much fighting ability to get the training.
“Great so that still means I have to go last.” Kate grumbled. “Can we at least do some training with your sword?”
“Kate you don’t need to be touching Isabella’s sword.” Tanya knew Kate had her heart set on asking Isabella to make her one but Tanya didn’t think that was a good idea. She made a mental note to talk to Isabella before Kate got the chance incase Isabella agreed to make one for her.
“Come on it’s not like I’m going to hurt anyone with it.” Kate had hoped that Isabella would let her use it during the fight.
“I can do some sword training with you Kate. Fighting a vampire with a sword is a lot different than fighting a human.”Isabella liked the idea of doing some sword training. It would break up the monotony of teaching people to fight with just their bodies as weapons.
“This is going to be so great!!” Kate cheered.
“Does that mean we can do some more training with my gloves?” Emmett asked. Isabella had given him basic training with how to use them but he felt like he could do a lot better.
Isabella nodded. “I can train you how to rely on your hands more than just your strength like you usually do.”
“Sweet.” Emmett was beyond excited now. He knew that when Isabella was done with him he would be as good as a fighter as Jasper.
“Great now that we have that worked out can we get back to our training?” Rosalie was happy for the others but didn’t want to waste her personal time with Isabella while they still had a chance.
“Of course. Now come at me again.” Isabella said as she planted her feet.
Tanya watched in awe as Rosalie who couldn’t even hold the daggers she was given properly when they first began, twirl them around in her hands and move towards Isabella. Initially Rosalie had been more cautious with her movements and could barely move fast enough to block Isabella’s strikes. Now though she easily deflected a punch to the head that would have easily cracked her face with her arm and followed the block by swinging her dagger towards Isabella’s other arm where she swiped down. Tanya flinched as she watched the dagger make contact with Isabella’s arm thankful that Isabella’s shield protected her so easily. If it hadn’t Isabella would have lost an arm.
“Good.” Isabella said as she caught Rosalie in a head lock. “The only problem you have is that once you made contact you stopped. If we were fighting for real I would have been distracted by losing my arm which would have left an opening for you to take off my head with the cross cut I showed you.”
Rosalie was frustrated that Isabella got the jump on her but knew Isabella was right. She needed to act without thinking and that meant she would have to practice to get herself to the point that the moves and responses to what was happening would be instinctual. “If I can’t get to the neck to make the cut what should I do?”
“If you can’t remove their head stab them instead.” Isabella told her. “Your daggers are strong enough that they could easily go through the skull bone. If you can’t remove the head then stab them and make sure you move your daggers around a little bit once you get it in there. Vampires may not be living but they still need their brains. So if you use your dagger to cut it up they aren’t going to recover from that.”
“Wicked.” Emmet hoped that he would get a chance to see his wife do that to a vampire. “Does it kill them?”
Isabella turned her attention back to the crowd watching them. “It may but not always. Just like a human a vampire’s brain sends signals to the rest of their bodies to allow them to be able to do everything and just like a human’s brain when it’s messed with it causes a reaction. So even if Rosalie doesn’t kill the vampire,by stabbing their brain she messes up what the vampire can do. I personally have seen my Rosalie make a vampire catatonic after stabbing them in the brain.”
“Amazing.” Carlisle knew that vampire brains worked just like human brains but because a vampire’s skull was almost unbreakable he never thought about how it would react if operated on.
“What happened to the vampire?” Kate asked. She was now conflicted on what she wanted to ask Isabella to make her. The sword would be cool but being able to mess with a vampire’s brain was kind of awesome.
“He never recovered. After the conflict was over we brought him and a few others to the castle to be tried for their crimes. Everyone thought he would heal and be fine but even after giving him not only human blood but the healing serum that I used to fix my shoulder he never recovered.” That incident had disturbed most of the vampires that knew what happened. Before that they didn’t think there was anything a vampire couldn’t heal from.
“Jesus.” Tanya didn’t know what to think of all this. She was however wondering if it might be a good idea to ask Isabella to make her some weapons. She had known the ones Isabella had made were effective but to know what they actually could do made her think it would be a good idea to be armed herself.
“Anyway.” Rosalie said getting Isabella back on track. “Where are the best places to stab a vampire in the head.”
“The best places are the soft spots.”Isabella addressed the group. “This is something you should all know. It a vampire gets their arms around you and you can’t get yourself free attack their eyes. It would be great if you could free your hand to just rip them out but if you can’t,spit in their eyes instead. Vampire venom will burn the eye ball and take away their sight. The venom will create scar tissue on the eye ball itself so even if it does heal they will still not be able to see properly.”
“So if we are being crushed the best way to get out of the hold is to spit in their eyes?” Alice wanted to make sure she understood what Isabella was saying. Due to her size it would be almost impossible for her to get away from a vampire who had a hold on her. If Isabella had a way to give her an advantage in that situation then she was going to pay attention.
“Yes. That’s why it is one of the best spots to stab.”Isabella told Rosalie. “Not only is it easy access to the brain but if they move and you can’t get your dagger in all the way then you at least have injured them enough you don’t have to worry about them if you are being overwhelmed. The next spot would be under the chin. It is a direct line into the brain without being blocked by to many bones. Thrusting your dagger straight up is an easy way to incapacitate your enemy and move on to the next.”
“That would also work well with the spin move you taught me right?” Rosalie asked.
“Yes, if you are surrounded the best thing you can do is stab and move on. That way once you inflict the damage to the group you can go back to the ones that are the most dangerous and kill them while the others are distracted with their injuries.” Isabella said.
“That makes sense.” Isabella had already taught Rosalie how to get away if she was being surrounded but it was nice to know she could fight her way out if she didn't have the opportunity to flee the situation.
“Another good place to stab are the ears. Siobhan, Emmett pay attention.” Both Emmett and Siobhan perked up at being called out. “Whereas Rosalie will be using her daggers to stab the enemy in the brain the two of you are strong enough to box their ears to disorient them. Emmett with your gloves I believe you will be able to actually crush a vampire’s skull in if you use enough strength.”
“Holy shit are you serious?” Emmett asked.
Isabella nodded. “You are the first person to use the gloves so it hasn’t been tested but based on how easily my Emmett put his fist through my shoulder you should be able to. He barely used any force at all and his fist went right through. I believe that if you used even half the strength you have then you could easily crush a vampire’s skull.”
“That’s so badass.” Kate was now adding Emmett’s gloves to the list of weapons she wanted Isabella to make for her. Instead of just one she figured it would be no big deal if Isabella just made all three for her. She was already fantasizing about all the damage she could do if she had Emmett’s gloves and Rosalie’s daggers when fighting the newborns. Adding Isabella’s sword to the mix would make Kate almost invincible.
Isabella checked the watch she had set to this dimension’s time. “I need to go to the wolves now but I should be back in a few hours. It wouldn’t do good for them to do a very intense training session before the fight.”
“Can I come with you?” Rosalie asked. She was sad her time with Isabella was done but didn’t want to be away from the vampire. She knew that her time with her friend was running out as the newborn army was coming soon and wanted to spend as much time with Isabella as she could. Rosalie wondered if she and Isabella had some type of bond. Maybe not one as strong as Isabella’s bond with her Rosalie but Rosalie felt like she was connected to Isabella. It wasn’t like a mate bond but she did have great affection for the vampire. She felt closer to Isabella than she did her own coven and had missed Isabella when she was gone. Seeing her again made Rosalie feel like she could finally breath after being underwater. She would have to ask Isabella later about it.
“If it’s just you and not everyone else I don’t see why not. They said you could come anytime as long as me or Bella were with you.” Isabella said.
“While you guys are gone we will work out a schedule for training. Is there anything you can recommend for us to do while you are away?” Tanya asked.
“Emmett can watch some boxing matches to see different kinds of techniques. Garrett and Kate should continue practicing with their gifts. It would be a good idea to thoroughly scout the area Alice said the army is attacking us at. Liam you should be one of the ones to do that as you are the best to figure out where to place traps. Jasper should run through drills with Alice to build more on their techniques. The rest of you can continue to train with your groups as we have been.”Isabella told them.
“We can do that.” Tanya said. As she watched Rosalie and Isabella take off through the woods she wondered if she should have went with them. No one had seen what the wolves could do and it would probably be a good idea to train with them all together at least once. Isabella hadn’t brought it up though so Tanya didn’t think it was that big of a deal. She knew Isabella would do everything she could to make sure everyone made it out of this fight alive and uninjured so if she didn’t think the wolves needed to train with them then they most likely didn’t.
Tanya still hadn’t talked to Isabella about what to do about where Bella was going to be during the fight. She would have to bring it up to her while they were doing individual training. She actually felt herself getting kind of excited at the idea that she would be getting a personal lesson from Isabella. Tanya may know how to fight but from the little she had seen of Isabella’s skill she knew that she was going to be making great strides. When she had spoken to Siobhan recently the vampire had brought up a good point. With all the things Isabella had helped them with it had made each of their covens incredible powerful. The fact that they were all linked to each other, the Denali and the Irish coven by a mate bond and the Denali and the Cullen coven by a familiar bond made the group with no other equal. Eventually word would get out about them. Then the Volturi would take notice. Luckily with the things that Isabella not only taught them but the few vials she had given her and Rosalie Tanya felt they had more than a good chance at defeating the royals. The mind blocks alone rendered their most powerful guard members useless and if they used the liquid to make them stronger for a half an hour they could easily eliminate the guard’s strongest members.
Tanya would also need to get Isabella alone to talk to her about returning with supplies. Isabella had told them of other stuff she had that was beneficial to vampires and Tanya wanted to see if Isabella would not only bring back extra vials of the stuff they already knew about but if she would bring back other substances that could help them. Rosalie had mentioned that Isabella had given her a plant leaf that stopped her bloodlust when she was in the presence of a bleeding human and Tanya was hoping that Isabella would be able to give them some seeds to maybe grow the plant themselves. Even though she didn’t like the idea of her mate going into the unknown Tanya was a little sad Bella didn’t have the gift to travel. It would have been nice to have direct access to all the stuff Isabella did. They were just lucky Isabella was so willing to share with them. Now Tanya just had to figure out a way to convince Isabella to leave her mate to come back and bring them stuff. That would probably be harder than fighting the newborn army because they all knew that Isabella didn’t like to leave her mate or her Rosalie. Not that Tanya could blame her as she didn’t want to be away from Bella it would just be nice if she would.

Holy crap, they are taking advantage of Isabella. Kate needs to tone it down with her asking for things.

2022-04-06 10:52:36 +0000 UTCI think they are selfish. It is true that Isabella can really help them, but to ask all that of her without to give someting back or to give her some time for her self.
