“There you are all set now.” Rosalie told Bella as she finished blow drying her mate’s hair and putting it into a loose bun. While the pair showered Rosalie took her time to wash every inch of Bella’s body head to toe not missing any spots. Despite Bella’s protests Rosalie never went farther than a few kisses. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to do more,it was that the feelings were overshadowed by her need to make sure Bella was as alright as she said she was. Even Rosalie’s vampire side which usually wouldn’t hold back from turning any situation with Bella sexual had been focused on Bella’s wellbeing. After they had finished in the shower Rosalie had lovingly dried Bella off then helped her dress and do her hair. She was thankful that Bella seemed to understand how Rosalie was feeling and offered her one of her shirts to wear. Having her mate’s scent surrounding her did wonders for her anxiety and when Bella had agreed to wear Rosalie’s shirt, Rosalie was pleased that her mate smelled of her.

“Thank you Rose.” It took some effort but Bella pulled herself away from the mirror knowing that the others were waiting for them. Now that she was more awake she had taken the time to actually look at her eyes. The brown she was used to seeing was now a bright white that when it caught the light in certain ways made them shine like silver. The effect was made to look more disturbing by the way her limbal rings had changed to the same colored black as her pupils.If Bella were to go out in public she would have to start wearing sunglasses so she didn’t draw attention to herself.

“Come on Carmen made you some food.” Rosalie reached out her hand for Bella to take and hand and hand they made their way to the living room where the rest of the group was already sitting on different pieces of furniture. They had been nice enough to leave the seats next to Victoria open for her and Bella to sit together.

Victoria pulled Bella down to sit on her lap. She had given Rosalie her alone time with their mate but it had been hard for her to refrain from interrupting them. Only the promise of getting one on one time with Bella later had stopped her. “How are you feeling my love?”

“I’m better now thank you.” Bella blushed at the term of endearment.

“I made you some toast and ginger tea. I read that they help ease an upset stomach.” Carmen hoped that Bella would be able to keep the food down as it would help her get some of her strength back. She thought the human looked better than she had when she first woke up but it was obvious she wasn’t back to full health. Some food would be good for her.

“Thank you Carmen.” Bella was touched that the woman had gone out of her way to make sure Bella had something she could eat that wouldn’t make her stomach feel worse. When she went to move out of Victoria’s arms she frowned when Victoria only restituted her so she had access to the food and her drink.

“I would like it if you stayed on my lap.” Victoria needed the extra comfort, especially since Bella only carried Rosalie’s scent. She wasn’t jealous of that fact, it was just her instincts urging her to make sure Bella carried her scent as well so if Bella came in contact with others they would know that Bella belonged to not only Rosalie but her as well.

“Ok.” Bella easily agreed. She didn’t like being away from either of her mates so when they were reunited she felt the need to reconnect. That didn’t mean she would leave the other out though.

Rosalie scooted closer to Victoria when Bella reached for her happy that Bella wasn’t just ignoring her. Bella even moved so that she was laying on Victoria but her legs were on Rosalie’s lap. The closeness was enough to sooth Rosalie and she eagerly took the opportunity to grab Bella’s plate and mug. She had forgotten the rest of the room as she began feeding Bella small pieces of toast until she heard Tanya clear her throat. If Rosalie could she would be blushing as much as Bella was noticing everyone’s attention on them.

Tanya smiled at the scene before her. She had always known of Rosalie’s unhappiness so to see her now so obviously in love made Tanya’s unbeating heart swell with happiness for the blond vampire. The fact that Bella had seemed to so easily accept both the mate bonds and made sure each of her mates had equal attention made Tanya even happier. She had been around other triads before and some liked to play off each other to gain favor with their mate so they would ignore the third person in the relationship. She was glad that Bella was such a caring little human who cared for both her mates equally. “Now that Bella has joined us would you be willing to tell us what happened?”

“I honestly don’t know.”Bella took a sip of her tea as Rosalie held the mug to her lips. “I was laying on Victoria feeling completely at ease then Kate made a comment and Rosalie got mad and went after her. At first it didn’t bother me because they seemed to be joking around. It was when Kate shoved Rosalie and she fell on the end table that I started to feel angry. I was going to tell Kate to knock it off when all of sudden I saw the blue electricity spark along her fingers and then she threaten to use it on Rosalie.”

“So you still had control of yourself when Kate had laid her hands on Rosalie?” Eleazar asked. It was important to him to know exactly what Bella was thinking so they could figure out what triggered her gift.

Bella nodded. “Yes I was only going to reprimand Kate. My plan was threatening to not eat anymore of the foods she wanted me to try until she apologized to Rosalie.”

“Oh man Kate she knows how to hit you were it hurts.” Irina was impressed that the human had figured out a way to deal with Kate.

“Yeah, yeah.” Kate didn’t think Bella would actually follow through on that threat so she wasn’t worried about it being used in the future.

“Back to the story.”Tanya knew if she allowed it Irina and Kate would go off on a tangent and they really needed to find out what happened.” So after Kate threatened to use her gift on Rosalie what happened?”

“The anger was still there but it was overpowered by this uncontrollable need to eliminate the threat to Rosalie.” Bella told them.

“So would you say you were actually in control of yourself or did it feel like you had to attack Kate and if you didn’t you would die?” Eleazar asked. When a mate was threatened usually the other mate would be compelled to avenge the mate. If Bella felt the compulsion it would be proof his theory that Bella felt the mate bond as strongly as her other two mates was right.

“It felt like if I didn’t kill Kate that I would die.” Bella confirmed.

“Shit.” Kate was now very happy that Bella was human. If the results of what happened were anything to go by Kate would have to be very careful when Bella was turned as to not get on the girl’s bad side.

Victoria kissed Bella on the cheek. Knowing that Bella felt like that made her feel more secure in their own bond. It confirmed the human wouldn’t even consider leaving her or Rosalie for anyone else.”What went through your mind as you were charging at Kate?”

“Nothing.” Seeing the confusion on the other’s faces Bella explained. “It was like my mind went blank and every thing I am was focused on killing Kate. After I made contact with her I felt the same pain I felt when we were fighting those three vampires but this time I felt it not only in my mind but every part of my body that was touching Kate.”

“Did it feel like you were being electrocuted?” Tanya wondered if Bella actually felt Kate’s gift.

“No, it didn’t feel like some outside force was touching me. It felt like pure energy was being ripped out of my body. It wasn’t on my whole body however just were I touched Kate. It was as we slammed through the kitchen floor that I blacked out.” Bella said.

“What do you think of this?” Rosalie asked Eleazar. She wasn’t happy about hearing Bella was in so much pain. The thought of what Bella must of felt had Rosalie shifting so her head was laying on Bella’s lap. She sighed when she felt Bella’s fingers run through her hair.

“I think that Bella isn’t just a shield.” Eleazar said. “I think that while she does have a shield that protects her she also has some kind of offensive gift that attacks those that threaten her or her mates.”

“Are you talking about a gift like the witch twins have?” Carmen asked.

“Yes and no. Bella’s gift isn’t just mental. Her shield actually manifest into something physical. I believe whatever her other gift is adapts to attack whatever is attacking her by specializing the attack to the specific means in which the danger is coming from.” Eleazar had never come across a gift like Bella’s and would have to do some research to find out if it had ever occurred before.

“So you’re saying that when Bella attacked Kate her gift not only neutralized Kate’s own mental gift and attacked her mentally but it manifested to attack Kate physically as well?” Victoria tightened her hold on Bella. If what Eleazar was saying was true then her mate was more valuable than anyone thought. Waiting to turn her wasn’t seeming to be the safest option anymore. They may have to do it soon to protect Bella from others who would want to sire Bella themselves to have control over Bella.

“Exactly. As Bella was set on eliminating Kate.” Eleazar didn’t want to say kill because it disturbed him how close Bella was to completing her goal. “Her gift predicted a physical attack. That’s why Bella felt pain only in the spots she was touching Kate. If Kate didn’t use her gift on Bella then I doubt that Bella would have attacked Kate mentally. I do however believe that if Bella hadn’t lost conciseness her gift would have made it so Bella could have killed Kate and would have physically blocked any of us from interfering.”

“You believe Kate was that close to death?” Tanya looked over at the human. Bella seemed so fragile and meek as she sat snuggled into Victoria’s chest running her hands through Rosalie’s hair with the blond vampire’s head in her lap. It was almost impossible to think that Bella was capable of killing a vampire but if Eleazar was right Bella was not only capable but could do so quite easily.

Eleazar nodded. “I think Kate is lucky that Bella is still human and her body isn’t strong enough to support her gift because if Bella was a vampire she not only would have killed Kate but anyone who tried to stop her from her goal as well and there would be nothing any of us could do about it.”

“Jesus.” Kate now wasn’t so sure of asking Bella for a rematch when she became a vampire. If the human could kill her so easily then she wasn’t sure she wanted to go against a vampire Bella. Kate didn’t even think she had a chance to defeat her.

“That’s why it is so important to protect Bella. If anyone found out about this Bella would be a target to more than just the Cullens.” Tanya started going through a list of possible allies they could call upon to help them with the Cullen problem. It was now a time sensitive issue because they couldn’t wait much longer to change Bella with out risking the human harming herself if she used her gift again. Tanya was still disturbed with the change to Bella’s eyes and worried something worse would happen the next time.

“Don’t worry we will keep you safe Bella.” Kate promised. She would fight until her last unneeded breath to protect the human from any harm. Bella was a Denali whether she knew it or not and the Denali always protected their own.

“We all will.” Carmen wasn’t going to let the others handle the danger to come without her. She wasn’t much of a fighter but that didn’t mean she didn’t know how to fight. She was of the same thought as Kate. Bella was a Denali now and Carmen would protect her with as much fury as she protected the other members of her coven.

“Thank you.” Bella was touched the Denali all seemed to be willing to go against other vampires to protect her. It made her want to become a vampire as soon as possible but knew it wasn’t a good idea after Victoria and Rosalie explained what a liability a newborn Bella would be in a fight.

“Now that we settled that how about you and I go to our room and watch that show we started the other day?” Victoria had waited long enough now she just wanted to spend some alone time with her mate.

“That sounds like a good idea.” Bella wouldn’t mind cuddling up with Victoria in bed watching some tv.

“You don’t mind if we have some alone time do you Rosalie?” Victoria asked.

Rosalie didn’t want to be away from Bella but Victoria had given her time alone with Bella already. It was only fair that Victoria got her time with Bella by herself. “That’s fine. I’ll come get you when it’s time for dinner.”

“What show are you guys watching?” Kate hoped it was something she liked so they could all watch some future episodes together. It would be fun to hang out with Bella watching tv because Kate knew that humans ate a lot of snacks while they did it.

“Motherland Fort Salem.” Bella told them. “We only watched the first episode so far.”

“Cool maybe we will watch down here and catch up with you guys.” Kate offered.

Rosalie sat up and pulled Bella into a passionate kiss. “I love you.”

“I love you too.” Bella told her.

Victoria waited until Bella and Rosalie had said thier goodbyes before picking Bella up bridal style and ignoring Bella protests walked them up the stairs to their bedroom. She pulled back the blankets on the bed and gently set Bella down urging her to get under them. Grabbing the tv remote she handed it to Bella as she snuggled herself under the blanket and put her arm around her mate. She smiled when Bella immediately shifted herself so she was laying half on top of Victoria’s body. “Comfy?”

“Yeah.” Bella laid her head on Victoria’s shoulder and started the show. She knew they had many serious topics still to discuss but Bella didn’t really care about them right now. Now she wanted to spend some time with Victoria being lazy. Bella felt that she earned a break from all the heavy subjects that had been thrust upon her shoulders. She didn’t regret getting involved with the Cullens because it gave her Rosalie but she couldn’t help but wonder if they hadn’t moved to Forks if she would have still come across Victoria. If she had met the red head first they wouldn’t be in this situation but then again Bella wasn’t sure if they would have met Rosalie. Knowing what Rosalie’s life was like Bella decided that even though they were in a dangerous situation she wouldn’t have had any of this play out a different way. Rosalie was worth facing any danger that came their way and as she snuggled down on the body beneath her Bella felt grateful that they wouldn't be facing it alone.
