“What’s it like to have a mate?” Irina asked Rosalie. The pair had gone hunting after Victoria and Bella decided to go to the store with Carmen and Kate. Irina hoped that Kate stayed on her best behavior because Victoria didn’t seem the type to let anyone mess with her mate. Then again they didn’t really know much about the vampire. Irina was hoping now that she was alone with Rosalie she would get the full story of how the red eyed vampire ended up in the human’s life.

“It’s..” Rosalie tried to figure out exactly how to put what it felt like to be with Bella in words. “It’s like feeling a part of you has finally come home. I never knew how much I needed someone else to share my life with until I locked eyes with her. Ever since then I haven’t looked at another woman. Not because I can’t, it’s because I don’t want to. No one else could even hold a candle to Bella.”

Irina smiled at Rosalie’s mini speech. “Look at you gushing.”

“I can’t help it. Now that I finally am able to be with Bella I feel like nothing can bring me down.” Rosalie knew that there were many things coming but that wouldn’t dim her happiness of having Bella in her life.

“How do you feel about Victoria also being Bella’s mate? Do you feel a mate bond with her as well?” Irina asked. She knew it was possible to have more than one mate but wasn’t sure exactly how the dynamics worked in such a relationship.

“I don’t feel a mate bond with her but I do feel bonded with her. It’s more of a deep trust. I feel completely comfortable with her around Bella because I know she feels the same way about her that I do. There is also no jealously. Well I was jealous at first when I found out that Victoria had kissed Bella but that was because I hadn’t had the chance yet.” Rosalie smiled thinking of all the kisses they had shared since then.

“How do you feel about them being physical with each other? Have you gotten to the sexual part of your relationship yet?” Irina wasn’t sure if when she found her mate she would want to share them. She couldn’t imagine how it would feel watching them with someone else.

Rosalie took a minute to think about exactly how she felt when she saw Bella and Victoria together. “In all honesty I think it’s hot. We haven’t gotten fully sexual yet but we have pushed the boundaries somewhat. Seeing them together was awkward at first but that was because I didn’t exactly know how to be a part of the experience. Luckily Victoria is very supportive of my relationship with Bella and coached me through the beginning. Once things started everything became natural.“

“So how did your human react. From the way she was blushing about just sharing a bed with the two of you I have to guess she is inexperienced. I bet she was panicking when both your attention turned to her. Unless you and Victoria showed each other attention as well.” Irina knew Rosalie didn’t have much sexual experience so it was of great interest how her sex life was now as she was part of a three person relationship.

If Rosalie could she would be blushing. She wasn’t uncomfortable talking about sex but she also never had her own sex life until now. “Victoria and I aren’t like that with each other. I’m not attracted to her the way I am Bella. Watching them together is hot but it more has to do with seeing Bella enjoying herself. We have only had one real chance to be with each other and it didn’t go past Bella being topless and some kissing and groping. As to how Bella reacted, at first she was a little nervous but as soon as things progressed she got more confidence and became more assertive.”

“Interesting.” Irina hadn’t expected that from Bella. “How did Bella become involved with Victoria. I know you said you would tell us later but I am really curious. Your coven has never mentioned her and I know Carlisle hates human blood drinkers, so how is it that Bella came across Victoria.”

“It all had to do with a tracker from Victoria’s coven. His name was James. They heard us playing baseball and decided to investigate. When he saw how protective we were of Bella he took it as some great game to play. Before he could get to Bella we killed him and burned his body. At the time we thought he was Victoria’s mate but I have recently found out that wasn’t true.” Rosalie wondered what else Edward had lied to them about. He was the one to tell everyone that the two were mates. “After we killed him his coven including Victoria sought out to avenge him by killing Bella. They were under the impression she was Edward’s mate. I’m not sure exactly what happened but Victoria stalked Bella and found her in the woods. Neither has told me what stopped Victoria from just killing Bella but I know after that they started dating.”

“How did you find them?” Irina felt like part of the story was missing. It wasn’t like Rosalie to lie to them but it seemed like she was leaving something out.

“That’s part of why we are here. I wanted Bella to meet Eleazar. Her gift has manifested to a dangerous level and after recently using it, it caused her to slip into a coma like state. I tracked Bella to Victoria’s apartment after it happened and helped take care of Bella until she woke up. That was only three days ago.” Rosalie couldn’t believe it had only been three days. So much had happened in those three days that it seemed like weeks had passed instead of days.

“When are you going to tell the rest of the family?” Irina had never heard of a human reacting to using their own gift like that. Actually it was almost unheard of for a human to have a gift. She felt a bit of fear for not only Bella but Rosalie as well if Bella using her gift was so dangerous.

“When we get Bella settled. I was going to tell you all when we first got here but Bella’s human needs got in the way.” Rosalie was wondering if they had gotten back to the house yet. She was anxious being away from Bella but knew she couldn’t skip hunting. It had been long enough since the last time she went that it would be dangerous to go any longer. Although she wasn’t worried about hurting Bella as it was almost impossible to hurt one’s mate she didn’t want to take any chances. That brought another thought. How were they going to accommodate Victoria’s hunting habits. She doubted the vampire would go back to animals after having already tried it but Rosalie wasn’t sure what Tanya was going to require of her. Rosalie just hoped that Victoria would be reasonable and it wouldn’t cause a fight.

“What kind of person is Victoria? Should we be worried about her?” Irina knew the vampire was dangerous but wasn’t sure if she was going to be dangerous to them.

“Victoria is interesting. I don’t know how old she is but I’m thinking older than Carlisle. When we first saw her on the baseball field I don’t remember more than her looking excited to play. Then again I was focused on Bella so I’m not really sure how she acted. When I tracked Bella to her apartment she attacked me but after telling her who I was she released me because Bella had asked her if she went after the Cullens to spare me.” Rosalie smiled at the thought her mate cared about her enough to ask Victoria to protect her.

“She had felt the mate pull already?” Irina found that interesting. It wasn’t unheard of for vampires to mate with humans but each human reacted differently to the bond.

“Bella told me that she had thought she just had a crush on me because when she talked to Alice about her feelings for me Alice dismissed them as them being normal due to my gift of beauty. Alice was also pushing the Bella being Edward’s mate narrative at the time so it’s no surprise that she wouldn’t want Bella to have feelings for anyone other than Edward.” Rosalie growled thinking about her mate being with Edward.

“I know Carlisle has an unnatural love for Edward but I’m honestly surprised he made you ignore the mate bond. If he planned on changing Bella it would become obvious that you were mates. I’m not sure how it would work out if he sired Bella as I don’t know of many vampire mates with the same sire. It is said that the sire bond is equal to the mate bond but as we saw with the queens they overcame their sires and Chelsea due to how strong their mate bond was. It took them a while but they succeeded in the end. Who knows what would happen if Carlisle tried to use the bond against you now.You not only have a mate that has accepted the mate bond but she has another mate that you have a bond with. I honestly doubt he can overcome both those bonds even if you and Victoria don’t have a mate bond.”

“I’m not sure but I hope we don’t have to find out.” Rosalie hoped Irina was right because then she wouldn’t have to worry about Carlisle. “I just want to be rid of the Cullens and move on with my life. Well my life with Bella and Victoria.”

“You didn’t answer my question though. Is Victoria dangerous to us?” Irina asked.

“Is Victoria dangerous? Yes, I believe she is very dangerous. When Bella had the incident with her gift Victoria fought off three vampires and between her and Bella killed all of them.Now do I think she is dangerous to your coven.” Rosalie shook her head. “No, as long as you aren’t a threat to Bella or myself then you don’t have to worry about her. I’ve come to realize that her level of hostility coincides with Bella. If you treat Bella well and she likes you then Victoria will go out of her way to make sure you are taken care of because it would make Bella happy. She told me that she would protect me with everything she had because without me Bella wouldn’t be happy and Bella’s happiness is all that matters to her.”

Irina frowned. “Do you think they will be alright with Kate?”

“I honestly don’t know. When was Kate last around not only a human but a newly mated vampire?” Rosalie suddenly felt very concerned for the blond haired vampire.

“She hasn’t been around a human who knows about our world in centuries. As for a newly mated couple I’m not sure. Victoria won’t kill her will she?” Irina just like Rosalie was now very concerned for her sister.

“I don’t think so?” Rosalie knew she didn’t sound certain and from the look on Irina’s face knew she picked up on it as well. “Maybe we should hurry up and get to the house. I want to say Bella would stop her before anything got out of hand but Bella has also encouraged Victoria to take her revenge on the Cullens and seems totally fine with Victoria killing humans. So we know she isn’t against violence.”

“Shit!! Let’s get going before Kate tries to electrocute Bella or does something equally as stupid.” Irina took off after a group of deer she heard down by the lake she and Rosalie were close to. Rosalie not knowing much about Victoria and her lack of faith that Kate would be safe made her pick up her pace. Her sister wasn’t used to people she didn’t know and was likely to act to friendly and forget herself which would be a big problem if Bella and Victoria didn’t have a sense of humor. It was with thoughts of hoping to be able to find all Kate’s pieces to put her back together before it was to late that Irina took down her first kill without her usual finesse trying to drain it as fast as possible.
