What is the biggest missing Feature?

So I have a number of new features I am working on added to ROMVault.

But I am interested to hear what is the biggest missing feature that you would like to see added?

Comments

as Simon said, keeping the Directory structure when moving ROMs back in to the ToSort folder. - so much YES from me for that. and DIR2DAT functionality would be useful too. +1 for that too.

Ahh thanks, I didn't know that trick! Maybe then as a suggestion to add the option in the right click menu so it's more obvious.

I will take a good look at this list, and add to my todo as they all look like very useful feedback items.

one quick thing.... try right clicking on the collapse/expand buttons :)

hey all good feedback.

Hey Gordon, as with the previous comment. I am also extremely happy with how RV currently works. If none of the following make it in, I will not be upset. But here is my list of suggestions: * Allow select and copy from "Info fields" * Collapse/Expand all at each folder level. * Show Corrected/Missing/Fix/Merged ROMs should also filter the contents of the rom list, not just the games list. * When moving files from a RomRoot folder to ToSort, keep folder structure from RomRoot * In addition to the ROMs Got/Missing, add data size calculations * If an entire zip file is correct, but in the wrong location, move instead of recreating the zip file. * When RomVault is re-packing/moving/deleting (large files) after fixing, show in progress window. Often it looks like it hangs when doing these operations. * When canceling, allow interruption of current action (eg kill chdman.exe process, or stop creating zip file and clean up files). * Add Dat creating functionality (eg Dir2Dat). Also for Trntzip .NET * add pause/resume feature * allow abort/close Cheers Simon

Good question, I can come up with a million feature requests but most of which could possibly be detremental. RomVault is as it stands an amazing ROM renamer handling mutliple DATs and will cross fix between them. Tools designed to do one thing and one thing only tend to be better at that task than tools that try to be too many things. so bearing that in mind and the fact that i know you are already working on headered file support (which was always going to be my number 1 feature request). I'll start the ball rolling with features that would make finding, renaming and fixing ROMs easier. or features i've found myself wanting, or indeed functionality that would cut out other steps i find myself repeatedly carrying out. a right-click context menu to copy rom information to the clipboard would be really usefull. having some similar functionality to findcrcs (see github.com/claunia and/or the crcutil lib on google code) - this would have to be a manual check, right click missing ROM > scan for rom inside another file. > automatically extract it if a match is found, is essentially a secondary manual scanning engine. < would probably work with headers too with a bit of logic, but you're already working on that. other things are probably out of the question as they would require a full rewrite like moving to Qt and linux builds etc.
