A note about our latest videos

You may have noticed that some of our last videos are a bit different from the ones we made before. So we wanted to give you some context about this.

When we started our YouTube channel, the idea was that it would just be an addition to our blog. But over time, we realised that we actually enjoy making videos and that this also gives us the opportunity to reach an audience that doesn’t like to read blog posts. So we decided to take making videos more seriously and to put more effort in creating them.

We quickly realised that this would ask for a change in strategy concerning the type of content that we’re making, for 2 main reasons:

1. It’s almost physically impossible to create a naturist video every single week. On our blog, we can write a post about a place that we visited in the past, but for video we need to create the necessary footage on location. If we want to visit a different naturist place every week, we’ll probably spend most of our time on airplanes.

2. YouTube and naturism aren’t particularly good friends and quite some naturist channels have been removed from the platform. This is something we want to avoid at all cost, and we figured that creating non-naturist content next to our naturist content might help.

Our other big passion is travelling, so it made total sense that for a secondary topic, we would focus on creating travel videos. But recently, we started realising that some of our travel videos are kinda boring. Our concept was to just take our cameras when we are exploring a new place, but since we often don’t have in-depth knowledge of the places we visit, we noticed that some of our videos are mostly in the style of “this is a temple, this is a park, this is a tree, etc”. Which is probably not all that interesting to watch.

We have been thinking a lot lately about how we can make our videos more engaging and which extra ingredients we can add. What we came up with are more personal stories as in the video about how life overwhelmed us (https://youtu.be/p0uvS9a-5l0) and more about our personal values. We strongly believe in stepping out of your comfort zone, in challenging the status quo, and in not judging things you don’t know. Our video about how we designed our own lives (https://youtu.be/YCxsh4-DJS8) is an example where we talk about our values.

We think that we’ve come a long way from our very first videos to the ones we create today, but there’s still huge space for improvement. We hope that by adding these new ingredients, we will be able to create better and more engaging content. In the end, it’s all very related. There is an obvious link between naturism and travelling, but also our values are related to both naturism and travelling. Eventually, we hope that we can mix up all the ingredients in most videos, but we’re not there yet :-)
